"I’m so happy we found this school!! My son is still very new, Just seeing him getting up and actually wanted to go to school is awesome!! I know that he’s finally found his place and WILL reach whatever goals he sets"
"My Inuk daughter loved this school but suffered from mental health issues so they expelled her"
We moved our son to Heritage Academy 2 years ago. He was really struggling in the public system and his self esteem was low. Today he is thriving! We couldn't be prouder. He is motivated, he has found his confidence and is a leader in his class, and he can read! We are so thankful for all the support he has been given at Heritage.
My daughter went from dreading school to loving it. She loves her teacher and has a blast with her classmates. She is encouraged to develop her interests and explore new topics. Her confidence continues to grow and she is now considering careers that she had thought were out of reach. What a happy child. Well done Heritage!
Public and alternative high schools were not equipped to handle the special needs of my son, a student with high-functioning Autism Spectrum disorder. It took 6 years and 3 schools and thanks to the dedication and support of Ms. Ward and the teachers my son graduated in June. I couldn’t be more thankful.
I’m so happy we found this school!! My son is still very new, Just seeing him getting up and actually wanted to go to school is awesome!! I know that he’s finally found his place and WILL reach whatever goals he sets. His first one He wants to read so bad like his younger siblings. Now it’s possible!!!
My Inuk daughter loved this school but suffered from mental health issues so they expelled her. They wouldn’t even speak to her counsellor to get tips on how to make it work. Her sadness was affecting other students so they kicked her out. It’s a total violation of her rights as a child.
My child is so happy to go to school every day. The staff at Heritage are all highly committed. They provide a warm, respectful, motivating and enriching environment for learners. We're so pleased with our experience, and feel fortunate that this school is in our community.
We switched our son to Heritage a year ago and he is absolutely thriving. Our only regret is not doing it sooner! The teachers and staff are incredible, and they really helped my son achieve new academic heights. I also highly recommend the Jiu Jitsu program at the school.
I go to the school and have been there from grade 4-11 but the only problem is everything you learn is easier then the public system so if you switch back it going to be tough. but I guess its the trade off for being as great of a school as
We are beyond thrilled since joining Heritage 3 years ago. We looked at many options but wanted to very best for our dyslexic son. From engaging teachers to supportive administrators, we could not ask for a better environment for our child.
The transition to public high school wasn't a pleasant experience for our teenage child. While special education services were available in the public school, the support tailored to the individual needs and learning styles at Heritage was
This is my daughter's second year at Heritage Academy. Without going into detail about her experiences in the public system and what brought her to the school, I can honestly say that the school was a safe place to land following some hard
My child was struggling in the public school system, and he was in a very accommodating public school. We made the decision to transfer to Heritage and it was by far the best decision we made. He gets the support he needs, and has excelled
First and foremost I would say that Heritage's teachers and admin are VERY patient, understanding and very accommodating. My daughter who's now in grade 10 did 2 years in a huge high school then 1 1/2 terms in an Arts school. She struggled
My child has been attending Heritage Academy since September 2020, and went from hating school, to liking school. The classes are small and instruction is at the right level. My child is now a confident learner and learning -- learning to
Heritage Academy was the right school at the right time for our son who was struggling adjusting to high school in the public school system. He had spent 3 years in an LD Classroom at a very good elementary school. The transition to high
Heritage Academy gave my daughter a fighting chance in this very rough world. The teachers are amazing and caring and able to adapt to the needs of the students. If it weren’t for the entire staff, teachers upper management(principal and
My son was diagnosed at the age of 6 with Classic ADHD and learning disabilities. Now 9, he is still illiterate and never progressed academically beyond kindergarten. His academic life can be described as "ignored at best, in trouble at
A solid school with respect, kindness and can-do attitude being pillars in their approach to the day to day learning. Our son was struggling in the public school system, lost in overcrowded classes, subjected to bullying and unchecked
I attended the school from grade 7 to grade 11. The only reason I attended the school for so long, was because my parents like not having to sit with me for 4 hours after school everyday to do homework. On that note I can tell you the
My daughter has been going to Heritage Academy for 3 years now and she loves going to school. She has regain confidence in herself and is a happy child again. Thanks to the great work of the teachers and the SMT program her reading is
My son was struggling at his high school. The school was not equipped to handle his needs. A student with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder and anxiety, he struggled to be understood and to get the support he needed. Thanks to
When I picked my son up from Heritage Academy after his first day at his new school he said to me "Oh Mommy, it is like they found world peace at this school. Everyone is so kind and nice". If your child needs extra support, or lacks
BEST SCHOOL EVER! Before my son started at Heritage he could not read, because of Heritage he is reading and writing, doing math, doing things he would have never done in a public school. I would not hesitate to recommend Heritage to
I am so glad this school was recommended to me. I have never seen my child happier to attend school and to excel. The administration and teachers are great to deal with and communicate regularly. Highly recommend
This school may be great for a certain portion of dyslexic students (not all), but I cannot stress enough that it is definitely not a school for ADHD or other learning disabilities aside from dyslexia.
My son attends Heritage Academy and has really flourished at the school. He has benefited from the small classroom size, individual SMT counseling, academics, daily gym and caring teachers.
Our son is loving school again and and we are so pleased with his his progress. He loves his teacher and going to school every day. We are so thankful to the caring staff at Heritage.
Run down and ugly school. Some of the staff are okay, but they push their politics down your throat. Too much time spent discussing pointless and unrelated topics in the classroom.
A true gem within the education community. We are so blessed to have found Heritage Academy. Thank you to all the staff for helping our son learn how to love school.
The team at Heritage Academy go above and beyond to care, educate and inspire their students. Our daughter receives customized lessons, from passionate educators.
The school all learning disabilities.
