I have been vegetarian my whole life until I ordered at this place, ironically labelled as a 'heritage' Indian restaurant. Instead of humbly accepting the mistake that they sent the wrong dish with meat in it, and assuring me that something like this would not happen with anyone in future, the staff kept justifying and arguing how it got mixed up, and insisted that it was the first time this has ever happened. I feel like my moral ethics got violated, and I'm filled with utter dissapointment. This is how you make everyone lose faith in their own people. Definitely should not name your restaurant after something you guys clearly lack. I have never been in the business of owning a restaurant or running it but it is common knowledge to label dishes when you are sending it out to clients, so you can distinguish between the orders, regardless of their similar look. With all seriousness, if you have employees which are not even remotely smart, you should put more effort in hiring people or perhaps run a different business because clearly it isn't working out. Things like this make me feel like I'm ashamed of calling myself an Indian. And this review is from a person who has never written a review before. Not a restaurant you would want to visit.

The service here was actually insulting. My group arrived and made an order. An hour later, we'd only been served a single entree. The entire hour we were there, we saw orders constantly coming out of the kitchen, straight into the hands of someone either taking away the order, or an UberEats or other equivalent person. For an entire hour, only around four or five dishes were actually served to customers inside the store. This wasn't just our group, there were two groups who had arrived before us that still hadn't gotten more than one or two entrees. Honestly, the food was pretty good. However, the service is absolutely horrendous. Can you imagine waiting over an hour for food, and after asking when you're food is coming, the serving staff only says that they're busy, when there are exactly four groups totalling to under 15 customers in the store, when they have clearly just been prioritising takeaway and online orders? There was clearly not a queue, as I observed several people coming in and ordering on the spot for takeaway, and they received their food and left, before we even saw a single entree.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this exquisite restaurant, and I must say it was a great experience from start to finish. The staff was attentive and friendly, making us feel welcomed and valued throughout our visit. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to explain each dish, ensuring we made informed choices. Now, let's talk about the food - Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavors that delighted my taste buds. The menu showcased a perfect balance of creativity and tradition, and the presentation was simply stunning. In summary, this restaurant is a gem that deserves every bit of praise. Great food! We were in the area and we’re looking what was open on a Monday night. Most places were shut but not this gem! It felt super authentic. The food was tasty, and the service was spot on, they even asked me if I wanted another beer when I was still two sips away from finishing the previous beer, excellent service. We had the mixed entrées, the tandoori platter (five serves), the fish curry, rich and garlic naan. It was probably enough for 3-4 people. So I’ve got lunch sorted tomorrow, happy with that, it was all tasty! The bill came to just under 100 bucks, not that considering there’s a couple of beers in there. Would definitely go again if I was in the area.

Ordered Malai Kofta, Chicken Heritage, Lamb Roganjosh, and 2 garlic naan for dinner on Monday. Total 59.50 AUD. The Malai Kofta was one of the best in Melbourne Metro area. It was savoury, sweet, rich in both flavor and texture. The dumplings were soft. As you bite into them, it gave a slight crunch from the nuts. The Chicken Heritage was rich in flavor, great if you love coconut. However it was a bit underseasoned. The Lamb Roganjosh was about average. Unfortunately the meat was a little bit overcooked and dry. The service was quite slow. There were only 1 waitstaff to serve all of the seating patrons and takeaways / delivery drivers. The interior was quite dull and the lighting was quite dark.

First visit for us, and we hope for many more. The food was good, the service was wonderful, and they took extra care for listening to all our ‘special dietary needs’ of some in our group. Special thanks to Jyoti, who made our evening really pleasant with her excellent attention to all details.

Amazing! I have been eating here since 2014 (over 4 years), and for some of those years I swung past for dinner every Thursday night for months back to back. The food is always fantastic!, I have never had a meal that let me down, it is always well prepared, beautifully presented and fantastically full of flavour. I like really mild Indian food, not spicy at all, no chilli, and these guys always make my meals exactly the mild level I want. I bring friends here when they come to Melbourne, and Heritage is definitely one of the best Indian restaurants that I have found in Melbourne. A+

Really enjoyed this place. Am veggie so got veggie vindaloo, Shahi Paneer, Aloo Gobhi, veg biryiani and some garlic naan. All were really good, nice variation of flavours instead of just different colour with generic 'curry' flavour - veg wasn't overcooked or soggy in the vindaloo. Also the aloo gobhi was dry, which is a v good thing - have ordered a few which came quite wet and saucy which isn't nice! I found it a bit strange that they asked how hot I wanted each dish as normally each dish has an associated spiciness but its a great option if you don't like spice or love spice.

We've ordered from here a few times before coming to the restaurant itself last night. Every single time, the food has been delicious and so so filling. We've tried the butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, beef vindaloo, roti, parantha and naan and they've all been superb. The curries are very flavoursome and you can really taste the different spices in each, and the spicy options are actually spicy! The meats are also cooked really well, tender and delicious. We'll definitely continue to come here whenever we want authentic Indian food. Can't wait to try the other dishes too!

Very, very slow, food just ok. Ordered online: they promised 70 min delivery, after which we hadn't heard from them. No message, no call, no delivery. We called them after 85 mins (!) and they said wait another 25 minutes, and it was still a bit late after that! That's nearly 2 hours !!! waiting for food that turned out just OK in quality. Potatoes did not taste fresh. Garlic naan was nice but the paratha was not good. For an area with so much competition from good restaurants, this was really disappointing. Maybe they're better in person but we won't be coming back.

The food from here is always incredible, I would pay more for it because it's so good and so consistent but it's not even more expensive than your average local Indian restaurant. They always give me free papadums with my take away (because I order heaps of food like the fangirl I am), they're punctual with delivery, if they have to call to check your order or your address they're lovely and polite and professional. I'm so lucky I live so close, it's some of the best curry and naan and bhaji I've ever had and the service is great. Highly, highly recommend.

Heritage has made the best Indian food I've tasted. My partner and I came here to enjoy Indian cultural food. The quality of the food is exceptional, with each dish we ordered having unique and authentic flavour. This cultural experience is enhanced by the fragrances within the restaurant; which remind me of when I was in India. The service was good and the waitress had great care for us patrons. There seemed to be pride in ensuring professionalism with us patrons. It seems like a family oriented business with very reasonable priced meals.

I didn't actually dine in. I had a takeaway from Uber from here. I've been in Australia for nearly 20 years. Prior to that - England. Manchester and Birmingham, the curry capitals of the world. I know my indian food! The food from this place is either the best or the second best Indian food I've ever had. Everything about it was perfect. Worse experience ever!! Everyone ordered their main meals and two of us ordered banquet meal. After five minutes waitress returned and said you can't order banquet unless everybody on the table order same thing. Which we disagreed as it was not mentioned anything like that in their menu and eventually walked out of the restaurant without any food. The owner behavior was completely unpleasant and not very professional at all, never going back there again even if free food was offfered.

I am not a big Indian food fan but I craved for it all of a sudden. That lead me to ordered here. I ordered Lamb Madras, Murg Malai Tikka and 3 naans. Everything was so delicious. I am definitely going to order here more. I saw few negative reviews and was a bit worried to order. But definitely made a good decision trying it out. Only thing is I would have wanted a bit more in the take away box. It cost me $42.

Probably the best Indian cuisine I've ever had. Every dish was amazing in flavour. The garlic naan was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The beef jalfrezi, fish masala and madras beef were very tasty, as was the mixed tandoori platter. The mango and pistachio kulfi were to die for. Jyoti took our order and provided recommendations. Her customer service was very friendly and welcoming. I'll definitely be coming back. A must try for all lovers of Indian cuisine. It won't disappoint.

Great place to order from. The kofta is mind-blowing. The other dishes are also excellent. The ambience isn't the greatest but a great place to order from. It's available on uber eats, or you could just call them up for placing an order. They've also got Indian beers which are not the easiest to find. Good place for indian dessert as well.

Our go-to Indian! since we live directly below the restaurant they always have fast service for pick up and are always nice and friendly. My housemates and I have tried the, Samosas, butter chicken, chicken korma, vegetable korma, chicken biryani, coconut rice, garlic naan and of course papadums. Delicious and steaming hot, tasty and full of flavour! Next time I’d definitely love to sit down and dine in. Will be seeing them next time we are hungry for Indian! x

Ordered via phone. Asked for Medium/Hot. Picked up the food. I live very close by, only 3 streets yet when I got home the food was less than luke warm. So I microwaved my meal, found it to be very oily, and it was very extremely mild. So no, I didn’t enjoy my meal. It was the first time I have tried this place but where I usually go was closed due to Boxing Day. I won’t go again and I also noticed that there was not 1 single customer there for dinner at 7:30pm.

I have been trying food here for past few years, can't blame the taste, service and price just extra colour added to some of the dishes could be reduced for health benefits. Recently ordered some dishes through Menulog - on time but I had worst ever fried rice in my whole life. I don't even blame if that's somewhat okay but this was made totally wrong by someone who does not know what that is. Just mixed of veg briyani with lemon juice and sauces.

Service was a little slow to begin with, but once the waitress seated us and came to take our order, we found her extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Helped us choose the right food for what we were after and was happy to take the time. The food was quick, and delicious. The onion bhaji was some of the best I have eaten. The price was very reasonable as well. Definitely looking forward to visiting again.

Loved the taste of foods here. Among all the Indian cuisines I've ever tried, these ones were the best. We tried butter chicken, lamb and prawns. Mango lassi also was yummy. A nice and beautiful lady was serving foods and taking orders, she is so nice and friendly and can help you with foods if you are here for the first time. This is the best restaurant i have ever visited in Australia. The food is fabulous. Best Ambience best service. I have eaten here more times than i can count and it never fails to be a brilliant experience. The food, the service - all perfection. The chef takes you through a journey of all the different parts of India with the accents/flavors which are nostalgic. Truly fine cuisine. I absolutely loved this place.

Absolute garbage!! Have been here couple of times to see if the reviews actually match up. But it has always disappointed me. Food served doesn't seem to be cooked, tastes like it's reheated. Curries are ok and the rice is always served dry, less cooked. Service is very mediocre, staff keeps talking on the phone and doesnt pay immediate attention. Very unprofessional behavior. The best indian food I've ever had. I've lived locally for 6 years and I would never look anywhere for my curry fix. Whether I pick up or order uber eats, food is always piping hot when I get home and the butter chicken is unlike no other! I'm obsessed. The naan is amazing, samosas great. Food was tasty and not the normal typical general flavors. There was more depth and technique. Staff were overly friendly, which was nice that they cared for us and catering for gluten free. Had the banquet 2 which was plenty of food. The vegetarian was my favorite, as a meat eater this was an alternative option. Would try again and with the different curries mentioned by the staff.

We came to this restaurant after a strong recommendation from my friend. We are so delighted with everything this restaurant offered. i moved to heidelberg and decided to go to an indian restaurant. Came to this restaurant the service was bad. They charged me more than what was mentioned on the menu. When asked the staff said for Dine in it will be extra charge. This is something that I have never seen before in any restaurant. Really bad food and wirst service

Incredibly tasty flavourful food. The chicken tikka entree was tender and perfectly spiced. The malai kofta was beautiful creamy and layered with flavours unlike most other formulaic indian places in the region. The garlic naan was the star of the show. So soft even though it came via delivery 15 mins after it was done.

The customer service was really poor. The chef didnt have any good manners to speak to their customers he was really rude and arrogant which i was shocked to witness as a customer. They also need to update their menu, i wouldn't recommend anyone going there cause i had a really bad experience with them.

Horrible food. I ordered Tandoori Chicken for takeaway and the chicken had full orange color added. I had to wash my hands so many times to get rid of the color. Please avoid as it's unhealthy to add so much food color. The chicken tasted so bland as if it was frozen for ages.Strictly avoid

Great food and reasonable prices. Really nice quality meats used as well. haven't had a disappointing feed yet. Not the most amazing atmosphere in the restaurant, but that's because it's usually pretty quiet. Lots of take away meals going out constantly. Wait times vary.

I did inquiry for table before closing time( approximately 30 minutes) I will reach on 9;30. But receptionist said me it's too late for us .we can't provide any food for you. So , why you are putting your closing time 10:00 pm. I am very glad with this restaurant.

Food was okay, not as expected. Lemons in drinks still had stickers on it. When asked to change the drink, they only changed the lemon. When asked to speak to the manager, the waitress claimed that she is the manager. Didn't even apologize for their mistake.

Nice food here. We got Dahl tadka, Kashmiri naan, papadams, saffron rice, seafood masala and shabnam, all on Uber eats. Quality was good and flavour was good. We’d happily order from here or go here again. This is a solid Indian food option in this area.

We ordered 3 coconut rice, rotis & 3 curries. We noticed the curry containers were smaller compared to the rice containers. What a rip off!! Last month we ordered 3 curries & rice had same container sizes. Never ordering from this place again!!!

Amazing curry! We asked for a hot dish and a medium dish. The brutality of the Heritage Chicken was balanced by the naïveté of the Paneer Makhni. Our erubescent faces are testament to this delightful combination.

Real taste and style of Indian flavour and wide range of continental food apart from best presentation. Indeed, the ambiance and aroma of the Heritage are excellent....a must-visit place with family and friends!!

The chicken dish I ordered was amazing but I was quite disappointed with the vegetarian meal. Vegetables aren't that expensive so there is no excuse for serving customers frozen veg.

After accidentally running into this restaraunt ,it's been my favourite Indian restaraunt since. The service was great! And the food was cooked to perfection! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND IT!
