Guys I dropped my car off at Hermitage Hills Brake and Muffler today to have some mufflers and tips installed on my car. They call me around noon to tell me its ready. I get there and immediately notice both tips are crooked. The tip on the passenger side was actually touching the plastic diffuser which would enevitably cause melting the diffuser is now scratched. The driver side tip was about 3/8 inch un level. I go inside and tell Brad the owner that its not done right he first tried to dispute this to me til we walked outside. Once outside he admitted the problem. He then had my car for another 4 hours calls me and tells me its good to go. I show up and both sides are still crooked and not centered with the exhaust slots. I tell Brad again its not right. Brad looks at me and says I'm not fixing it, its as good as it gets. He then looks at his wife and says give him his keys and send him on his way. Me and Rhonds, Brads wife go inside for the keys. As she is handing me the keys she says your total is $171 and some change. I told her that Im not paying for something done wrong. She tried to argue with for a second about it but realized they where still done wrong. If you can't stand behind your work then Im not paying for it. I did however offer to pay for the muffler installation which was about half the bill and she refused.

HHB&A has been the only place I'd take my car for probably 17 or 18 years. For many of those years, I was a single mom with a fulltime job on the other side of town, a limited budget and kids to get to and from places every day. They've always worked with me on scheduling, and they've never been anything but completely reliable and trustworthy. Some mechanics will assume a woman is ignorant and try to take advantage of her. These guys are the opposite. More than once, I've walked in and said, "I think my car needs such-and-so; here's what it's doing." They've checked it out and come back with, "No, it needs this other thing instead, which we can fix for a fraction of the price of the thing you thought it was." I'm about to take my car in tomorrow and tell them of the concerns I'm aware of, and that I'm about to drive it to Texas and I need them to find anything that might be a problem with it getting me there and back. I have absolute confidence that they will find any potential problems, and that they will not use my request as an invitation to "find" anything that isn't really wrong. As a woman, that kind of confidence in a mechanic is rare, and it's gold.

This repair shop was offered great service, I called many many shops in Nashville and Hermitage and this was the only one that would let me bring my own part, this was important as my alternator went out and all the other shops wanted to use a part that cost triple what I could get at the parts store. I have 2 young kids, my budget is very tight so this made a world of difference on its own, The lady in the office was very nice the 4 times I called her with questions, and did not make me feel ignorant as most mechanics do with women, they had it fixed fast , again super important with 2 kids and one have asthma trouble I need my car!! The price was reasonable and I would definitely recommend and use them again if needed. Thank you Hermitage Hills Brake and Auto, you definitely earned another customer as this was my first experience here!.

I called here after being quoted a ridiculously high price by a big mechanic chain company and finding this shop on Google. Susan explained the cost breakdown, said I could drop off my car that night and they could do it the next day. Things were looking up, so I dropped my car off that night and it was ready within two hours of them being open the next morning. I also called first thing that next morning to confirm that they wouldn’t do any work without telling me if there was going to be a price difference and they assured me not only would they call me first but they would also do a basic check and top off all fluids to make sure my car would be running safe and smoothly. I’m so happy with the work that they did at Hermitage Hills Brake and Auto and I will now be using this as my main mechanic shop going forward! Thank you very much!

I initially left a 5 star review (I'm now editing) as they were polite, had a good turnaround time, and didn't try to upsell. However, I've had multiple issues with the work done since then. They botched the rear brakes on my 2017 F150 so bad I ended up with a $1,300 bill from a Ford dealership a few months after the work was done. The owner kept saying he would make it right but never did. 20,000 miles later my truck is in the shop for other work, and I was just told the pads hermitage hills installed are so worn out I need new rotors, so I'm about to shuck out another grand. I bought the truck new and put 60,000 miles on the original pads, so driving style is clearly not the issue. Nobody should be burning through pads in 20,000 miles unless they are exceptionally poor quality.

I called on a Wednesday evening to get my coolant temperature sensor changed. The lady on the phone told me I could bring my car in any time from that night, Thursday, Friday, etc. She also provided a price. I scheduled a rental, and I brought my car in the next morning. She let me know she could get the mechanics to fix it up first thing, so it would only take an hour. I was able to cancel my rental, saving me money. On top of that, I was given numerous prices from different places ranging from the mid-to-high hundreds. The cost of the visit was less than $250. My car has had zero issues since! Hermitage Hills Brake and Auto is a fantastic family-operated and owned business, and they have earned my business for as long as I’m in Hermitage.

The folks at Hermitage Hills Brake & Auto are honest, fast and professional. I've used them twice already after a friend recommended them to me. Their prices are lower than the competition, and they don't try to do more repairs than what is needed. As a female, I have had other shops try to tell me things needed replaced when I found out later they didn't. I trust Hermitage Hills to tell it like it is, and to charge a fair price. On my last visit, I thought I had an oil leak, but it turned out Jiffy Lube left a mess of oil under my engine after my last oil change. Hermitage Hills cleaned it up, inspected for a leak (didn't find one), and didn't even charge me for it. They aired up my tires too. Thanks for your honesty and quick service!

Always honest and never issues with them trying to add-on other costs, for issues that don't exist! Haven't had to take a vehicle in for service for a while, but have used Hermitage Hills for almost 9 years now. My truck wouldn't start for me after having dinner out in Mt. Juliet. Sounded like a bad starter, but still tried to jump it, just in case, which did not work. Dropped off truck to them on Saturday, and they called me on Monday to confirm, it was the starter. Also told me they should change the manifold gaskets, because the starter is under the manifold, and the manifold cover had to be removed. Called me on Tuesday AM that truck was done, and at a very reasonable cost for the labor involved. Thanks again!

Came in this morning to get an oil change and to finally fix a rattle I’ve had in my car since I bought it in 2017 (it’s 2023). I had been to the dealerships around town and a mechanic here and there who have all wanted hundreds to fix a hard-to-reach lose bolt. I let the staff at HHB&A know the backstory and they were able to fix it AND change my oil in less than an hour for less than $90! Turns out it was an easy fix and others were trying to take advantage. Y’all have earned my trust and I will recommend you to everyone I know. I was looking for an experienced mechanic with a stella reputation and I found Brad and his team. I took my car in for a brake job and check about where the power steering leak is. Arrived and they were busy, gave them my key and waited. They inspected my car and before doing any work gave me a quote and what was wrong and needed. I had my brakes replaced, front and back and the price was fair and reasonable. The parts place they use is super fast to get parts to them also. I am extremely please with them and most definitely highly recommend them. They are busy however well worth the time. Thanks again. Tom.

Monday was my 4th visit and I was as impressed with them as the first time I went. Why I like them: they are reasonably priced, you get a lot for your money, and they will not do a bunch of work then charge you out the nose. They will come tell you what needs done, you decide-- and then they do the work. If you wait, you will wait a bit because they are pretty busy, but the waiting area is comfortable and they serve coffee. They are worth the wait. The only negative thing I have to say is the entrance is steep-- I go through the parking lot next door. I would and have recommended them to family and friends.

I've never felt so taken advantage of and treated like I don't matter. Took my car in and told them some problems but mainly wanted the leak in my coolant fixed. They told me should only take an hour since i was early. 8 hours later my car is ready and they literally did nothing but look at it. Charged me $90 for labor and recommended I take it to a dealership to fix other things I wasn't too worried about. Told me to just get my leak fixed at the dealership when I did everything else. 8 hours and $90 I feel robbed of with no remorse from them at all. Terrible customer service and will never return!

So we drove from Ventura California to Nashville TN in 4 days and upon arriving at our destination my daughter's brakes went out, she had a blown brake line on her driver's left front wheel I call these guys I spoke with Keith he was super nice, great to deal with, and talk to. They were able to get the car in the same day. I called AAA and got it towed over there and they fixed the car within a few hours. The price we paid was well worth the effort and speedy service. super nice team. definitely recommend them highly to anybody who needs mechanical work done. Keith and Susan did a great job for us.

I took my vehicle to Budget Brakes but couldn't be seen in a timely manner so I left. On the way home I drove by Hermitage Hills Brakes and Auto and remembered that they were able to fix a brake issue on my husband's Avalon that three other reputable mechanic shops had missed. Wanting to show my gratitude, I stopped in to see if HHBA could provide my brake service. Not only did they complete a full brake service, but they also stayed a little late on a Saturday to make sure they got it done before closing. Friendly, honest, fair priced folks. I am a grateful customer.

I am currently in graduate school and have little time to get my car checked out. So, I came in with about $1,000 dollars worth of work-up to be done. I went there today fully believing my brakes needed to be changed. After they inspected my brakes and test drove my car, they told me I didn't need brakes yet; still had half the brake pad left. They turned away work for my best interest. Trust (along with quality work) is one of the most important factors for a car mechanic. They have my trust and I will definitely be back. HONEST and fair business. I've had work done here before and been very satisfied. I took my recently purchased 2005 Toyota Highlander in for a wheel alignment and any recommended maintenance. They checked a few things before taking my SUV for a test drive. The verdict? My vehicle didn't need alignment or any other work. WOW! Many places would have done a lot of things I didn't need and charged me a fortune. Instead, I left the shop without paying a penny. THAT'S how to gain customer loyalty.

What an experience! I was on my way to work and my brakes decided to act up. I had to push my pedal almost to the floor to stop! Not an experience I'd wish on anyone. I was not comfortable driving farther, and called a tow truck. Hermitage Hills saved the day! They were able to work me in to their busy bays. After several bleeds of the brakes, line and valve checks, my master cylinder was changed out. I truly can't express how thankful I am for Brad, Keith, Susan and all the guys!

These guys are fair priced and do great work. New to the area I was having a problem with 2nd vehicle and I needed to get it looked at. Living by myself I didn't have a way to drop off the vehicle and make it home. The owner Brad was nice enough to use his own vehicle to give me a ride. Brad and team did a great jib on my repair and let me know how much everything was going to be before they did the repair which I appreciated. Would recommend.

While in the waiting room, I was able to talk to two of their longer customers who have been bringing their cars there for awhile. Since it was my first time there, I had hoped it was the right place. They fixed everything we agreed upon, everything is a good as it can be! I would recommend them. What I had done was two flex pipes and a resonator. They explained thoroughly what needed to be done and they do good work.

Amazing service and staff. Took my mini in for a brake job after another place jacked it up. They fixed the work did all four wheels for the price another place wanted for just the rear. The secretary is amazing great conversation and the mechanics are very helpful informative and friendly. I found a new mechanic for all my repairs and cars.

I brought in one of our company vans with rear drums that would not come off. They had the experience to figure out a way to do the job. They did work on my vehicle for a transmission leak when they don’t even Specialize in transmission work Car broke down same day I got it from the shop and I was basically out of my $300 before having the car towed to a different shop I would not recommend them at all!

Expensive and will do unnecessary services to increase the bill. $610 for replacing brake pads on a 12 year old base model civic. $155 for just the cost of the brake pads! Took them 20 minutes and they charged me for 2 hours labor.
