We're not zoned to this school, so we didn't know anything about it until our daughter was about to enter kindergarten five years ago. By that time, we just found out about Vanguard school (Gifted and Talented magnet) and T.H. Rogers, so we got our daughter scheduled for a test. We didn't really know what other choices we had, but we listed Herod as our second choice just because it's closer to home, and that's where our daughter was about to get her GT test. On the testing day, the first time my daughter set her eyes on that school, she just fell in love with it. She said she wanted to go to Herod, and no other. In the end, she got wait listed at T.H. Rogers and got some spots at charter schools, and a spot at Herod. We took Herod and never look back! She's been doing really well at Herod, an A honor roll ever since 1st grade, always performs way beyond her grade level, but she never gets bored because her teachers always find a way to motivate her to learn deeper and beyond. Now, her younger sister is in Herod too. They're two very different personalities, like the opposite of one another. Amazingly, they got nurtured at Herod based on their own characters. I can see how they both shining in their own unique ways. I think this is what I like most about Herod, they bring out the best in every students. P.S: their PTO are the best too!
They the principle is NEVER available to speak too..Infact as many times I asked I dont know who she is..cause they keep it a Big secret..whomever mrs Richard's is ...is also never available..That's the main person they keep saying you need to speak with mrs Richards...
I loved the school, I had unforgetible memories. I am now in 7th grade. And yet I still pass by to see the school. Great people fun activities. I Recommend this school!! If my teachers are reading this, its Madeline. I really miss u hugs and kisses!

This is an amazing school! My daughter is in the dual language program and has Mrs. Atondo who is an exceptional teacher! She's learned so much and we're so grateful to have this neighborhood school.
