Poor theft prevention policies that left me vulnerable to the store's criminals. My backpack and all of the important things that I had in it was just taken from behind the counter while I was shopping. The cashier at the time told me that he knew it was just taken and then pointed out someone in the parking lot as if I knew who it was. A security guard and a manager of the store pursued the suspect that lost them on the light rail. I lost everything. Wallet, ID, 3 rolls of quarters for laundry, change from the train fare $8 in $ coins, a harmonica, keys to my apartment, 3 battery chargers, 5 or 6 cords and plug in bases, blue tooth speaker and headphones.... So much it makes me feel sick. Still have no idea who took it. The manager has been unhelpful to do a thing about it. Stay away from this center!!!

The food was okay. The waitress or server was very rude ,we are an African American family they keep coming to the table passing by watching us. Then she came before we left brought fortune cookies and replyed have a good night , we were not finished eating and she raised the little silver tray thing looking for a tip .My grandkids said how disrespectful . People that were there before us were still there. I will never take my family there again nor recommend anyone of color to go there . After spending sixty seven dollars. To top it off she stood at our table until we left and I'm handicapped after having surgery she would not move my daughter had to stand in front of her . I will never go there again ever the service sucks!!! Unless your a different ethnicity. WHAT A SAD WORLD

I love to eat a variety of different foods so I love buffets but I don't really like sitting at the buffet so I get my food to go most of the time and I only spend about $11 on average when I go and I usually get; lo mein noodles a little bit of rice mashed potatoes and gravy a little creamy spinach and some of that cheesy imitation crab meat a few wontons one or two pieces of chicken wings and a sample of beef and broccoli. Yes I get all of that and yes most of the portions are tiny a few spoons it's usually about 1-1.5 pounds for food

This shopping center has a few good stores in here. The Burlington is a good upgrade to the neighborhood. Citi Trends, you actually find decent small things in there (cute flip flops, bath and body products, car mats, they also have a good selection of NFL things) The Taco Pineda be popping too. Great burritos. Liquor store here too so it’s a cute one shop all Even get you a Little Cesar pizza too However there can be a lot of loitering and pan handling. Security seems to be well patrolled

Only go over here when I need to save but the ppl can be rude and obnoxious needless to say some of the merchandise is picked over so suggest asking what days they get their shipments in of new items so you can visit on that day. Overall I generally just visit 7mile beauty and fashion store in this plaza....but again alot of things to choose from you jus have to know what your looking for but they are usually attentive to customers who need help.

Overcrowded and sketchy bordering on seedy. Too many people and cars in a small space ... best thing going for Hi-Lake is easy access to public transit. The liquor store is a no go. In my opinion; the chances of getting jacked or whacked coming or going are higher than I’m cool with. The risk isn’t worth it, there’s another liquor store down the street at Lake & Chicago across from the Midtown Exchange.

Hi -Lake shopping served the community with restaurants, a bank, clothing stores, home goods store, Dollar General, tax accountant etc... It was a good strip mall that attracted a lot of customers. But not any more!!! Unfortunately, residents selfish dumping of hate and selfishness left it in ashes and rubble. Thankfully God loves us and forgives us.

Aside from it being close to the liquor store, it's ok. I like Little Caesars for their value and I enjoy having either a dinner buffet or takeout from Sumo Buffet here. I definitely feel more comfortable not traveling here alone however. The liquor store means the area can feel seedy. Don't be surprised by people panhandling around this location.

To much of hassle going to any shop here... You have drunk people trying to ask for money,, people selling stuff they will get arrested for if the police see them... They do have a few shops here that are nice to shop but the location is not the greatest... To many drunks, panhandlers, just people trying to get over on anyone possible...

It's fine... But when you go to the 7 Mile here they watching you like you finna steal something. I don't spend money where I have to "Check - in" my backpack! I go to stores to get what I need and get out... I don't have time to try to steal! All these cameras and they're worried about your backpack...

Went to the buffet formerly known as teppanyaki grill had an excellent time it was Easter Sunday very nice spot to go on lake Street after what happened last summer with George Floyd Minnesota Minneapolis is very resilient and it's very nice to see it back to where it should be. Charles

Clean and well stocked. However, trying to find someone to ask assistance from was difficult. I wanted to run in and grab something quick to eat and when I was searching, I couldn't find anyone on the sales floor. When I chose my item, the counter staff was very friendly and helpful.

  • Maria Guzman

The food that is prepared infront of you is best other then that the buffet food is cold i have had dirty plates, but its good place just feels like staff always trynna hurry you up to leave.. need a bit better service and to have fresh made food

  • Larry G

Yeah yeah yeah I don’t know. Yeah yeah yeah I don’t know. I don’t know. It’s gonna be rainy so I don’t know. What does that to do with this thing I don’t know. Yeah yeah yeah it’s OK. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you know I mean yeah yeah yeah

  • Brig O'Connor

You can ALWAYS find something. So much fun to browse every area. Love thrifting! And they have days for sales, and Senior's days, and the savings are tremendous. Lots of practical items, and super fun kitsch!

  • Matt Swanson

This place went downhill after it was bought out. Teppanyaki was better. Food was somewhat cold and I was there during lunch rush. Also they didn't have a sushi bar or the chocolate fountain anymore

  • Jr

Sumo buffet. The regular buffet items have improved while their sushi select has decreased to lesser quality crab mince; no more salmon or tuna, on the day I was there. Why do I have to tip BEFORE?

  • Josh Morrison

This area used to be a diverse shopping district that outlined the many different cultures that make up the Twin Cities metro. However, this entire location was looted, burned, and destroyed.

  • Rob Farrow

It's getting better. The homeless and others can be troublesome and ask for money or whatever. The city of Minneapolis and state needs to change the panhandling laws, this is disgusting.

  • Deva Lopez

I love Hi-Lake Liquor. The owners are appreciative of their customers. Me and my sisters come here all the time. I would give them 5 stars, but the shopping outlet itself is a mess.

  • cece carter

Everything good but sumo buffet and the laundry mat doesn't give you all quarters they only give their laundry tokens so don't come here thinking they a checking cash place lmao

  • Fòòdi .

Bro why does every Chinese restaurant beg for tips? like don't yall get paid or some? And even get mad when u don't tip like they act like they treated you with royalty. …

  • Nathan Smith

I loved coming here when Savers still existed. So many good finds for decent prices. Why did it have to go? We need more thrift stores like Savers in Minneapolis!

  • Asher Thomas

If you need a Mexican food fix, look no further, PINEDA has the best tacos and burritos. Try it and you will only eat here when choosing Mexican Food.

  • Joel Sanchez jr

  • Rick Howell

Some riff raff including a shooting recently but the employees throughout the center are typically friendly

  • Lakeisha Lasane

New store, had everything I needed except one item. But they were restocking do they get a pass.

  • C.C. “King cutty” Madison

Haven't eaten at the buffet yet but everything else is pretty good on saving cash

  • Richard Boykin

Parking lot was disgusting and I never feel safe going there at night time.

  • Jimmy Scott
