Hindu temple
"There is a very disrespectful man who comes Monday evenings he wears collar dress shirt and dress pants with belt is 5’7 tall has beard short hair black and grey, and arrogantly spends 40 minutes at Shiva lingam and yells at you if you try to put milk and do pooja for Om Shiv Bolenaath after him, and he criticizes you if you put milk and do prayer in your own unique way with Sanskrit mantras, he continues to reign his territory acting like he owns the Mandir and rudely walks in front of you disrupting your pooja to shiva Lingam, he thinks he is superior to everyone else, because he puts 50 items from orange artificial powder color staining the shiva Lingam to honey to white thread with 30 fruits and 9 vases of water on Shiva Lingam one by one and he doesn’t let other people waiting in line do their prayers in evening rush hour time"
"I agree with some of the other reviews that Shiva Lingam section of the Mandir needs to be monitored by a pandit or temple staff"
"I was there a week ago and the temple was very unclean"
"One of oldest temples and probably only temple (at one point) in New York City"
"Very Decent place of worship"
There is a very disrespectful man who comes Monday evenings he wears collar dress shirt and dress pants with belt is 5’7 tall has beard short hair black and grey, and arrogantly spends 40 minutes at Shiva lingam and yells at you if you try to put milk and do pooja for Om Shiv Bolenaath after him, and he criticizes you if you put milk and do prayer in your own unique way with Sanskrit mantras, he continues to reign his territory acting like he owns the Mandir and rudely walks in front of you disrupting your pooja to shiva Lingam, he thinks he is superior to everyone else, because he puts 50 items from orange artificial powder color staining the shiva Lingam to honey to white thread with 30 fruits and 9 vases of water on Shiva Lingam one by one and he doesn’t let other people waiting in line do their prayers in evening rush hour time. He yells at you and on top of that criticizes you the way you do your prayer and pooja putting milk on Shiva Lingam. I was saying my Sanskrit prayers and he kept interrupting me and yelling at me that I’m doing prayer wrong. I think the pandit Ji of Hindu center should monitor Shiva Lingam area on Monday evenings because people are very very rude and rushing to do their prayers in long line because they come after work and Mandir closes at 8pm. It gets busy and people are showing their ego and impatience and arrogance in front of God while I just stand wait my turn patiently and quietly do my prayers as quickly as possible. This evil man added so much negative energy near shiva Lingam today 7/31/23 and made fun of me for the way I put ganga and milk for Om Shiv Bholenaath while chanting mantras. I’ve been coming to Hindu center for 30 years since I was a kanjak child and now as a grown woman I’m so disgusted by some of the rude Hindus that come to this temple showing their evil energy of hatred ego arrogance krodh impatience and critique toward others all in front of God. Honestly Sai baba Mandir and Ganesh temple nearby have much more better energy, kindness respect and pandits monitor the the place more so no one can act inappropriately there. But in Hindu center there’s people showing their evil side left and right disrespecting other temple goers which completely negates their prayers to God. To disrespect your neighbor is disrespecting God and God answers prayers to those who are high vibration high frequency full of love and kindness.
I agree with some of the other reviews that Shiva Lingam section of the Mandir needs to be monitored by a pandit or temple staff. I came here on 8/14/23 Monday at 6:45pm and while doing prayer to Shiva Lingam and putting milk, a man (heavy build) stopped me mid-prayer saying “excuse me excuse me miss, hello lady hello lady..” and I had to stop my prayer and pouring milk to turn around, and he said “you shouldn’t put milk on Shiva Lingam using the copper vessels it makes the milk bad the copper vessels shouldn’t be used for milk” I told him politely yes you can use copper or silver to put milk or ganga on Shiva Lingam. The temple provides 10 of them near Shiva Lingam for people to use. He had no sources or verified information from the Vedas or scriptures to prove his claim that copper shouldn’t be use for pouring milk. He literally ruined my prayer and meditation to Om Shiv Bholenath on Monday evening. What kind of rude man stops someone halfway between prayer stopping their Sanskrit mantras??? The level of disrespect! Someone from this temple seriously needs to babysit and monitor the Shiva Lingam area on Monday’s. Lots of psycho people coming here.
I was there a week ago and the temple was very unclean. There was garbage in the temple where the Siva lingam is. How can you disrespect the Gods like this? There is garbage everywhere and the whole place looks like it was not clean in a long time. Why don't you clean this holy temple? The nearby Gsnesha temple is spotless. Shame on you all here. The Gods will be very angry at how unclean the temple is.
One of oldest temples and probably only temple (at one point) in New York City. The main idol in this temple is Ganesha. There is also a room which sells some great Indian snacks.
Very Decent place of worship. Covid disciple was lacking. Luckily most wore masks. Also, no charge for pujas and archanas. …
A beautiful Hindu Temple, inside the temple you'll get a feeling like you're in India. One should definitely visit this place.
Food is getting expensive like everywhere else but it's losing its uniqueness of being delicious and economical
Peace of mind. A place to be at and come out as a new person. Takes all your sorrows away.
Very Big Temple! Feels divine and pure!!! Must visit specially during festivals!!
