HBCC more than happy to cut down trees that could pose a risk in 200yrs! HBCC more than happy to let building sites get messy, overgrown grass, rubbish all over the nature strips! HBCC more than happy to ignore Snap Send Solve ! Infact they will tell you it was solved even though the issue is still there! HBCC loves raising flags so much so it's the only events they throw for important dates. They raised the aboriginal flag for reconciliation week and it's been up since! NAIDOC week they pulled the flag down to throw another flag raising event! HBCC will take your money happily but if a refund is needed they just send a check...... HBCC loves promoting their efforts to care for our environment but also loves destroying perfect existing habitats to "create new better ones" HBCC loves putting signs up but can't follow their own parking signs! HBCC the biggest environmental destroyers digging and re digging up beaches to make them human friendly! HBCC happily taking your money day in day out and wasting it on stupid things! Like pruning perfect healthy trees so it fits in with their ideas! STOP DESTROYING OUR ENVIRONMENT STOP WASTING OUR MONEY COMMUNITY members have had enough!

Hobsons Bay councilors are nothing but theives in suits and ties! They gave me a parking fine while parked in a trailer parking spot because I did not have a trailer attached on a quiet Sunday afternoon mind you whilst I was trying to help out another boater who had troubles loading his boat on to his trailer. I have asked for an internal review and the review came back as you could have parked in the car parking! If you've been to the altona ramp then you know by the time you drive around to the car park the poor guy's boat would have been on the pavement. To the inspector who slapped the fine on my windshield I hope you sleep good at night fining hard working honest citizens of their hard earned money! $200 fine for parking in trailer parking in an empty parking lot is bull!

Money hungry council, inadequate signage to mark where you cannot park but expect a distressed person to see the yellow lines on the corner of the street, whilst I had a legitimate reason that was out of my control/ exceptional circumstances and wrote to them, they still elected to fine me. What is the point of allowing someone to submit for a review if you won’t even read it and consider it? Do we have to drive a dead body to your desk before you will consider? I’m absolutely disgusted. Hope you will use my fine money to put in proper signage so no poor souls will accidentally make my mistake again.

The staff who answer phone queries in the building department are incredibly unhelpful. The first one I spoke to promised to email me resources, and then never did. The second one I spoke to was extremely resistant to providing any assistance beyond "google the building regulations", and had to be argued with extensively before he could be convinced to: 1) vaguely direct me to additional explanatory material, 2) recommend additional contacts for further queries and 3) direct me to someone in a different department who could answer a query that he couldn't ("I am not a receptionist").

Environmental planning is an absolute joke. Increasing encroachment on the beach to accommodate footpaths; lack of rubbish bins and rubbish collection in public spaces; cutting down old native trees and suggesting planting saplings will replace the lists habitat and shade. Construction sites not held accountable for nature step maintenance or the rubbish that is strewn about. Residents parking over the footpath and not being held accountable. I'm pleased you have beautified office space a table tennis table, now please spend some time ensuring your own policies are enforced!

They're great at being indecisive and keeping people on a leash waiting for answers. I was meant to get an answer regarding business within the Hobson bay council instead I get excuse after excuse and the people involved are always on leave. It is almost criminal how these institution are getting away with their lacks and ignorant attitude, it seems to be all about who you know within the council, but as average Joe you do not stand a chance these people. Someone should investigate this council regarding they way they conduct business.

I hate being harsh and can admit I was in the wrong but there needs to be some sort of consistency when giving out fines. I parked in my own driveway and was sticking out a bit, I got a fine and ok that's fair enough. I don't appreciate the same council worker driving past my house for a week waiting for me to slip up so he could fine me.... In addition, I see plenty of other drivers that park in the driveway sticking out and on the nature strip. No fines for them (I would rather everyone not get a fine) but a fine for me.

One of the worst councils of Melbourne and made to rip off money. I parked my car at Williamstown beach and the ticket machine are so old they don’t accept cards and notes only accept coins. I did purchase the ticket whatever coins I have. I came back 15min late from the ticket time and officer already attached a ticket in my windshield. It is a clear picture of being ripping off people even though I was looking for the way to get more time to park and happy to pay to stay longer

It's worst city council I know, the rate department is hopeless, I can not get an old rate notice through the phone and emails and registering E notice on their website and still have to pay 27 dollars through email to customer service to get my rate notice! One fact they seem to forget is that we pay thousands dollars each year so they have a job, so please start doing them and make it work for us not us works for them! I could not give a zero rating, otherwise I would!

Yesterday we went to the Altona beach with our dogs, was fantastic but dog poop everywhere and no dog poop bags in dispensers. Later went to the Cherry Lake for lunch and a walk and I want to say what a beautiful park. Clean and perfectly mowed lawns. No rubbish and a delight to walk around the lake and see ducks and people fishing. 100% rate to the council cleaners who clean and maintain the Cherry Lake area.

Fairly disappointed with Hobson Bay Council sending someone to our house threatening us with a $370 fine because of a fault of a petsitter whilst we were on holiday. Also didn’t appreciate the allegation that my dog is unregistered and doesn’t have contact details on her, had they been able to get close to her they’d have found all of the details on her microchip. Poor form.

If I could give Hobsons Bay City Council minus stars I would.....surely the most inept, unhelpful council in all of Melbourne on some many fronts. I'd say just be better.....but even with that simple feedback you wouldn't take on board. Thank you for nothing and I look forward to continuing to pay rates for you to provide substandard service, communication and understanding.

Hobsons bay city council. For a council that is making many millions via the the sub-divison of lands, the lack of infrastructure and the lack of service is comaritively poor. Don't blame covid, there is something called risk management for this! For over 30 years I have been a resident in this area and I have never seen such poor reponse and follow up of services.

Sit on the Williamstown Surf Life Saving redevelopment for years before doing anything, then can’t include a pool in the new plans, getting rid of the clubs best asset, something that is utilised by many kids to learn to swim and popular with families. Useless. But of course we can approve a McDonalds in a beachside suburb quickly to get the rates.

Generally I'm a big fan of our council but we've had too many problems with hard rubbish pick up (took FOUR tries and as many phone calls) to get it picked up AFTER we arranged it this year. And sending out an industrial wood chipper to work outside my window at 7:30am Friday may be legal but it is NOT reasonable nor necessary. You can do better.

Visted Williamstown to catch up with friends and take my mam who was here from the UK, town was nice but toilets behind the visitor centre near ferry landing were disgusting......... not 1 toilet was clean, toilet paper strewn all over the floor and soaking wet and there was 1 toilet completely covered with poo. Will not be in a hurry to return.

The city of Hobsons Bay is an up and coming area in Melbourne's Inner West. Hobsons Bay City Council is doing a great job. The staff are friendly and helpful. You can come in and ask them pretty much anything related to the area and the staff can assist. The council chambers has public toilets, disabled and baby change facilities available.

unfortunately it appears the software supporting the systems are out of date and would require some improvement. My experience was with applying for a parking permit. in order to have this approved I needed to physically visit the offices on three occasions (greater than an hour wait time on each occasion) before the permits were granted.

Burns Road Industrial Estate has been undeveloped for ages over atleast 50 years and yet council wants money for drain and maintenance. This is ridiculous. I hope Victorian Government steps in to assist land owners. Council cannot do much here and just take money. It's great land and something useful could be built for the community.

Rang the lady in charge of animal registrations 3 TIMES to advise that we returned the pet but all I got back was a demand notice for $317 :( My wife was able to speak with her and said she seemed totally bored with the infringement. Can understand why rate payers feel angry paying the wages of mediocre non performing council staff

This institutions runs with our taxes. And they don't work at all. They are drive by money. I did a noise complain from F45 gym , they put loud music and smashed weights at 5:30 am. According to the owner of the gym, they have a permit to do that from the Gym, many neighbours also affected but, nobody wants to join.

How is it possible that this council has put up the registration of small business up by $200 per year from the unlawful covid lockdowns? I guess small business in Hobsons Bay is paying for the new remodelling of the civic parade centre. What an insult to small business owners after huge struggles in the economy

The Council has failed my family and I in every aspect when we have asked for their help in regards to noise complaints. Don't trust them to help you because they will make it as hard as possible for you to feel heard and acknowledged. Extremely disappointing and appalling effort on the Council's behalf.

Great council for Altona , and Williamstown, we pay rates at Altona meadows as well as Altona and williamstown but nothing gets done further out , we have pot holes in our street nature strip guttering never gets cleaned , our sports grounds don’t get look after . Pathetic council .

Worst service in general. Two tier rating system used. A lot of houses with higher values are paying a lot lesser rates when compared to houses that are new and low value. Older homes valueing some 2 million are paying lot lesser rates than those new townhouses of 1.5 million.

Complained about the traffic problems in McIntyre drive on the corner of Civic parade a waste of time the people in the council are a law too themselves no different to the Victorian Labour government sooner they are voted out the better (disgusting) all of them..

I have requested to waive my fine for parking ticket. they treat very badly and never send me any letter. I got another letter saying that you haven't paid yet. You have to pay extra charges. Very bad people. No justice at all. I wish they never grow !!

Was disgusted that ratepayers are paying for council workers to have the afternoon off to drink, eat and play and all of this was supplied by ratepayers. Recycling was also a disgrace. They had appropriate bins but council workers had no respect.

I think is an abuse to have a street next to Laverton train station parking with no neighbor houses, and nominate the bays as permit. When the inside parking is full, this is a "great" revenue day at expense of all train users. Shameful

Used the Council venue for a conference. Sensational venue and fabulous catering supplied. All comfortable, no seating or sound problems. Loved it.
