In early 2018, after researching various funeral homes in the Portland area, my siblings and I decided on Holman’s to plan for our declining parents who could no longer plan for themselves. The fact it is a long-time family owned business was a significant factor in our decision. Briefly stated, our experience with this company exceeded our expectations. Without exception every person we worked with was knowledgable, professional, compassionate and extremely capable. From the very beginning, they provided information in a straightforward manner with absolutely no pressure. As a result of the information we received, we were able to pre-plan and pay for the services that best suited our needs. When each parent passed away (mother in 2018 and father in July 2019) a phone call took care of virtually everything. While there were a few minor matters requiring attention, the difficult aspects were completely addressed in a dignified and professional manner. They also coordinated with the cemetery and made all transport arrangements. While we did not have a service, we have no doubt Holman’s would have handled that as smoothly and professionally as every other aspect. We recommend them highly.

20+ years ago I used to work in this service industry. I thought I knew great service back then as I was part of the group to provide it. Fast forward to today. No tragedy to navigate, thankfully. Just me, saving my family added future headache in making arrangements for me. I made them. Today - when I'm perfectly able to do so. The staff is fantastic. Especially Tyler Waud. He took me through the current system of detailed arrangements. Easy, understandable, thorough, kind and thoughtful. I've got what's needed, my family will not have a single worry about final arrangements or wonder about my wishes. It's all there. I'm very grateful to be able to recommend Holman's without hesitation!!

I used Holmams for cremation and services for my father Robert Donald Getzelman. It was an unexpected death and I can't tell you enough the appreciation I have for Cameron and this company walking me through the process. I have never had to plan a funeral and Holmans did a wonderful job with everything. Cost was fair they worked with us on getting it to amount we could afford. They did a great job making my dad look presentable for service. They put him in a beautiful casket. I can't thank you guys enough. The building is beautiful. It's an old historic building which is absolutely beautiful! Thank you guys again.

Cameron and the other staff at Holman's took such good care of my mother and my family after my mother's unexpected passing. They demonstrated such professionalism, compassion, and understanding. After a quick phone call, they took care of everything. All contact was online or over the phone and they worked so quickly and professionally. I feel so much gratitude and highly recommend them.

My aunt passed away last month, as she had no children I was her next of kin. She died without the assets for a proper burial so it was up to me to pay for the service. The Holman's staff worked with me to give my aunt a very dignified sendoff at a reasonable cost. Great service, very professional and upfront about everything involved with the miserable process of burying a loved one.

I met with Tyler Waud recently along with my two daughters to preplan funeral arrangements for myself and my husband. Our conversations with Tyler were compassionate, thoughtful and informative and he clarified some of the complexities of pre planning. After our meeting I felt comforted that my family was in good hands with Holman’s.

I had a bad experience with an employee at Holman's about six months ago and posted a bad review. The Director called me. We met up and everything went very well from there. I am vhappy with them and the arrangements we made.
