Title: "Hive Hotel: Where Minimalism Meets Mirth - A Solid 5 Stars!" Review: My adventure at the Hive Hotel in Washington, DC, was a blend of presidential vibes and delightful humor! Upon my early arrival, Kara was a lifesaver, taking custody of my luggage so I could freely explore the city before my room was ready. Her assistance was the first of many standout moments at the Hive. Throughout my stay, Brooke at the reception became my go-to guide. Her ever-present smile and wealth of tips greatly enhanced my DC experience, making every interaction a joy. The room was a lesson in stylish minimalism, complete with an inspiring wall mantra, "Work Hard, Travel Harder." With its playful 1000-capacity notice, the elevator always brought a smile, making me ponder the capacity light-heartedly. Rooftop dining was a highlight, with 'Rectangular Regale' pizzas that braved the DC winds. However, it's worth noting that the breakfast routine turned into a fun juggling act as trays were not provided. Set in the picturesque Foggy-Bottom neighborhood, the Hive gave a sense of presidential exclusivity. While the minimalist design sometimes veered towards the Spartan, it was a charming part of the overall experience. In conclusion, the Hive Hotel isn't just a place to stay; it's a place to make lasting memories. It's where you're encouraged to 'travel hard and laugh harder,' all thanks to the fantastic staff like Kara and Brooke!

The rooms are really small (but that’s already shared on the website). The idea is that these are “small” rooms If you do not intend to spend a lot of time in your room, this is the perfect hotel for you. The hotel rooms are very high-end, for what you pay. But if you want to spend time in your room, I would suggest finding a different hotel that is higher end. Hotel hive, focuses on small rooms to create profit. If you intend to explore DC, this is the greatest hotel possible, as they are very accommodating, have nice rooms, and beds.

Rooms
While the rooms are small, they are very accommodating. There is plenty of room for the bed and clothing, as well as a work space, and a full bathroom. I was very impressed with the space that I got for the price I paid.
Nearby activities
The hotel is very close to many attractions within DC.
Safety
The hallways are key card secured. Normally the rooms are, as is the case at the hotel, but the hallways to the rooms are also key card secured. I felt very comfortable staying at this hotel.
Walkability
I was able to walk to all of the attractions I was interested in. The hotel is very conveniently located amongst many attractions and locations.
Food & drinks
There is a great bar and pizza place in the restaurant.

The hive hotel was a great choice for being on a budget. While Rooms can be small, this wasn't an issue and they were very clean. Staff are super friendly (shout out to Dee Dee who was wonderful for check in / out). And the location was great as I found I was able to walk to any museum, monument, ect. There were only a few minor things that I have to point out for an honest review. I did find the bed a bit stiff and a bit noisy with springs if you moved around a lot. This wasn't a deal breaker. Another issue I had was with parking, I was not able to redeem the discount with the attendent even with the ticket the hotel provided. I don't know if it was an issue on the parking places side or the hotel side. For food and drink the pizza place on location was great. The rooftop bar was nice, but my only issue was getting a canned cocktail. While it tasted good, I usually except one to be made at the bar and not just poured from the can unless it specifically stated it was from a can on the menu. (The holiday menu at the rooftop did not have that stated) Other then that, it is a great hotel for the price and if I'm in DC again will likely stay there.

I wound up with a single room in the basement thanks to a mixup with my credit card travel website. No window. Tiny bathroom. Twin size bed. It was really uncomfortable and I wasn't expecting that. But to their credit the staff upgraded me to a larger room for free which is why this is a four star review. The staff were AMAZING and I was so grateful for their understanding. I offered to pay to upgrade but they didn't charge me. What is keeping this from being a 5 star review is that I paid almost $300 for a minimal service hotel. Other weekends the room is only priced at $96 which seems like a much fair price for what you get. For $300 it felt like a tiny bit of a rip off but for $95 it would have been perfect. At $300 having coffee and a fridge in the room would have been nice. The location was just ok, not a lot of restaurants nearby because the entire neighborhood was college buildings. And there was a highway on ramp with a homeless encampment you have to pass to get to the National Mall which was a little sketchy.

This hotel smells amazing. I know that's a weird thing to say right off the bat - but it does. The environment there is so fun, too. The people who work here were incredibly kind and helpful. The location was amazing, too. It was only like a 5-7 minute walk to the Foggy Bottom station and then from there a 10ish minute ride down to the Smithsonian stop and BOOM there you are on the National Mall. Can't recommend this place enough. Both times I stayed it was a lot of fun (plus &pizza is right in the lobby and it is fantastic, so that's an added bonus!)

Hotel Hive prides itself on being the first micro hotel in that area, I was expecting a boutique type hotel. I attended a conference held on the campus of George Washington University and this was one of the hotels that was giving us a group rate. One of my colleagues said she felt like she was in the dorms. My other colleague said that it reminded her of an upscale hostel. My room was in the basement with quite a bit of outside noise. No closet and you have to request ironing board and cleaning service. It's very convenient as it is right on the college campus and walking distance to the national mall and plenty of restaurants and shops. There's a pizzeria with a bar downstairs and outdoor seating. There's one elevator that is very slow and very small. Now that I know what it is, I would never stay again, but if you're just looking for a place to sleep that's in a convenient spot, this could be it .

My recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The tastefully designed room provided a luxurious retreat, and the attention to detail was evident throughout. The staff's warmth and willingness to go the extra mile made me feel truly valued. The hotel's dedication to sustainability is impressive, and their initiatives to minimize their environmental impact were commendable. The dining experience was a highlight, with a diverse array of dishes that showcased both local and international flavors. The hotel's location allowed me to explore the city's attractions with ease. I left with fond memories and a strong desire to return.

Great micro-hotel, rooms are small and simple but perfect for an overnight stay. &Pizza is on location, but their menu does not include custom pizza. They have a rooftop bar area where you can order premade drinks or canned sodas and pizza. Breakfast bagels are lackluster, regular grocery store bagels with an egg+meat+cheese patty. Free coffee and tea was nice, good selection of tea. Staff was very friendly, you can text them if you need anything. Towels were rough, temperature control in each room, not enough storage space. Even something on the wall would of been nice. The rooms were good at blocking the music in the hallway. Overall a good stay for an overnight.

We had a great stay at Hotel Hive! It was so close to everything we wanted to go to, as well as a quick ride to and from the airport. The room was what we needed - a place to sleep and get ready. The roof top bar was a lot of fun. The only thing that I would have appreciated being different is having gluten free items available at their pizza place. I was unable to eat there and had to seek other options, which wasn't preferable late at night.

Everything about this place is AMAZING. The rooms are efficient and well appointed, not large but who needs wasted space? The staff is A+++, Shout-out Shay, Roberto, and Brooke! This place is the place to stay in DC for Travelers. With 2 onsite bars, and great coffee/pizza, you can't beat this place. Also, they validate parking across the street which gives you a huge discount if you're driving in. Overall this place is the best value in town.

The bedroom is so small that the bathroom is more spacious than the bedroom. Perfect location and clean. it also has a restaurant and bar making it a good stay for solo guests. I like what is written "You were't born just to pay bills and Die". Makes sense to the North American life.

I am relatively new to the "micro-hotel" scene, (disclaiming: CitizenM is my only previous experience) and this hotel was extremely well put together. The staff at the front desk, bars, and pizzeria were spectacular. Hotel Hibe punches above its weight. Most definitely recommended for short business travel (1-5 days). For longer stays, it is just featherweight.

Very bad service for a private event that we hosted at the hotel bar. For about 45 people, there was only 1x server and it took forever to get any drinks to our group. For such a high minimum F&B for private events, the overall service from the hotel should have been much better. On top of that, the hotel bathrooms in the lobby were left very dirty and had no hand towels for the entire evening.

Stayed here for 5 days. Our room was super comfortable and clean, I appreciated the bed being a little bit higher than usual as it allowed us to store some of our many bags under it. The entire staff was incredibly professional and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to someone planning to visit DC.

Hotel Hive was nothing short of AMAZING! Upon check-in we were greeted by Q, and she was absolutely the sweetest! Room was small, but worked perfect for our girls trip. Excellent location, within walking distance of all historical attractions. We will definitely be back to rent Room 401 in the future.

The (bee) Hive is centrally located. The rooms are spacious and clean. The Roof Top Bar is very nice. Many thanks to Q for the great support - you are amazing. Lime scooters or bicycles are ideal for exploring DC, and there are plenty of them less than two minutes from the hotel.

Excellent price for the location, compact but has everything you need! The website said my room was above the pizza shop so could be noisy but the pizza shop closed at late in the evening so it was never an issue for me. I would definitely stay here again!
