12/15/23 @ 5:30 PM I returned home to my apartment on Richmond and Elm-side. I entered my apartment to the shrill sound of the wall alarm blasting… I thought that it would stop at any moment but the annoying sound continued. I tried to contact the office but my call rolled into a full voicemail box. I endured the noise for another 15 minutes but all I could think of was sometime in July-Aug 2022 1 whole building in this complex burned to the ground. I dialed 911 ( non emergency) and described the issue. Like lightening! there was a knock on my door. A great big guy introduced himself as Perry! At 72, and Chicago PD being in my top 5 favorite shows…. Opening my door to 4? 3 handsome firefighters was more than a treat! Perry entered and tamed the renegade alarm and explained that it was just a battery…( don’t you know they get tired of old ladies calling them because of “ just a battery?”. But “ The C Shift was soooo great! They were all so friendly…. When I mentioned the big fire a year ago, George admitted that it was his first firefight since joining #60. Again, a big shout out to Perry, John, George and Ringo! Aaaalittle joke that I’m sure they’ve heard before Houston! Fire Station # 60 Gotcha Covered!!! Thanks again! C shift! Wooo! Weeee! Next time I want an autographed Calendar! Mayor Turner please give a special commend to these great guys who are on the scene in the speed of light and have smiles ear to ear even when it’s just an alarm going off because an old lady didn’t think to change a battery. Awesome! “Houston” Fire Department Proud ~ Pam, a City of Houston native…
