TLDR, DO NOT GO HERE FOR MENTAL HEALTH CASES. I was here in late November of 2017. I went to the ER for mental health reasons and VOLUNTARILY agreed to an inpatient program. But they kept me in a small room in the ER with a babysitter for over 2 days, not letting me leave to walk around or anything. They never asked me for my insurance until I realized they were attempting to transfer me to another hospital, which had a terrible reputation and I didn't want to go to. They said it was because I didn't have insurance and I said, "You never asked me for my insurance." I spoke with a social worker who said she would assist me. Despite this, after another 24 hours, I discovered my transfer was still in the works. My friends came to visit me and I asked to speak with the doctor. I was calm and reasonable but the doctor immediately started treating me like some cattle she could do whatever she wanted with. I never even got checked out by her, even though I'd been sitting in the ER for days. She became irritated that I refused to go to the hospital she was sending me to and demanded that my friends leave, saying they weren't allow to visit. Thankfully, one of the nurses stood up for me. If I could give her flowers, I would. She pointed out that my friends had every right to be there according to the ER rules. The doctor refused to let us see the rules in print so the nurse gave them to us. How unprofessional can an ER doctor be!!! Finally, they sent me upstairs to the psyche ward. EVERY DAY I WAS THERE I was told that I would get to see a doctor and it never happened. I only saw the doctor for about two minutes while I was getting discharged, after a week of begging to leave and having my family call the hospital repeatedly. They asked if I wanted some vaccinations while I was up there, which I agreed to. I never got them, either. I was assured that no one would have to take medicine they didn't want to take but twice I witnessed my fellow patients refuse medicine, which the nurse proceeded to force them to take. Unbelievable. I took my medicine, participated in group, and was patient and friendly with the clearly overworked, stretched-thin staff. I really feel bad for the kind counselors there and the nurses who actually cared. But I still have to give this hospital a 1 star rating. I was begging to go home or see a doctor or anything but they just kept me there, day in and day out. I lost money and time from work, received virtually no treatment, watched the abuse of other patients, and was forced to stay there for an unreasonable amount of time. Please increase staff. Or something. Anything so that the fragile mental health patients don't leave wanting to hurt themselves more than ever. I pray for the people I met in the psyche ward, having watched them become more and more depressed and then being sent out without ever having seen a doctor.

I wish I could give them 0 stars but I can't. Where do I start?! I've taken my dad to ER couple weeks ago due to shortness of breath & ascites. Surprisingly the ER VISIT wasn't terrible. I would have liked to be there with him but due to Covid I had to wait in waiting area for 1.5hours before MD came to give me an update. My dad has medical issues that we are all aware of and the MD said he was goin to get admitted for further investigation which everyone was on board. He was admitted to the 4th floor! The first day or 2 was not that bad---they were doing things, getting things done in which I thought we were making progress. Then a couple days turned to almost a week and nothing being done. That's when I had to call several times and speak to his nurses. One was super nice Casey and she gave me updates and seemed genuinely concerned. Then the computers went down for a few days and at that point we all decided it was time to leave. He was just sitting there not really mobile and sounded horrible due to neb treatments I could tell it was weighing on his mental health. It was unfortunate because these same MD's come in room daily and say they are going to do these tests and do not! No way my dad or anyone should be in hospital over a week and nothing is being done. His other nurse Sophia was nonchalant about it and rarely check on my dad. It was awful no visitor can come see him and are not allowed so I had to call daily to check in. I tell you one thing I'm so happy he is out that place as its been a few days and he is better moving around sounds better and has follow up appts with his primary doctors. My dad had to leave they would say AMA but it was the best thing. With Covid, we worry about our love ones coming home from the hospital and to milk his stay for an whole week that wasn't necessary is beyond despicable. As a Healthcare professional this was unacceptable. The MD never gave me that respect to follow up when the RN told him I had questions or concerns. Please do not be admitted to this hospital and avoid if you can. It took for me to read these reviews about the 4th floor to see how bad this hospital must really be. Please avoid!

Seriously the worst hospital ever. We admitted my mom early December here were she was being treated for pancreatitis. They took so long in the emergency room to room her that she fainted in the bathroom. Since she was diagnosed for pancreatitis they werent treating her at all. They kept asking us if she is an alcoholic over and over they didn't even know what was going on. She was constantly in pain and were giving her medicine for schizophrenia!!!! The nurses I talked to on the phone super unprofessional. I called one day to ask about my mom and one of the nurses tells me upset annoyed 'shes a mess right now she threw up everywhere and we have no update for you' disgustingly careless. They called one night telling me they had to restrain my mom because she was not being cooperative which did not sound like her at all we agreed. Since their policy was no visitors it was the worst. You would think they would call to give you updates no they didn't know what to do with my mom anymore. Everytime we would call they sounded bothered and annoyed. So we decided to take her out and the dr calls to let us know our rights and that if we were going to transfer her to transfer her to a better hospital. Like literally a joke . They mistreated my mom. When we arrived at another hospital they were going to put her IV in and as the nurse rolled up my moms sleeve she was in disbelief and said 'you poor thing' my heart shattered . My moms arms were bloody I have a picture of her arms 2 days after and they still looked so bad and bruised.

Terrible hospital. It's unfortunate if you live in logan square this is the hospital the emt's are obligated to bring you. My mother was taken to this hospital in an emergency and 4 days later after 2 days in icu and 2 days on a recovery floor, they still didn't want to let her go home. One Dr says he has to check with the other Dr and the other Dr says he has to check with that same Dr. There never together in the room. It's almost as if it's a game. Once we were fed up we I said I'm signing her out and we are leaving. At this point now the Dr is saying it's ok to leave, but we have to come back the next day so we could fill out some more insurance paperwork for future test and I said of course we will and never came back. We did all of my mother's follow up work at illinois masonic. All this hospital was doing was overcharging my mother's insurance (blue cross blue shield) and she was receiving mediocre service. I mean in the room they had my mom there was another lady in such agony that my mother could barely sleep. Plus the bathroom had a bed pan in it for 2 days with feces in it. I mean disgusting and the nurses were laughing it up at the nurses station. When I asked them to remove the bed pan they acted as if I was bothering them. Do your self a favor and visit a hospital that cares about it's patients because this one only cares about your insurance money.

Worst Hospital ever, my sister was admitted yesterday and the care is completely unprofessional. Let’s start by sanitation, the patient floor (4) makes you gag. The smell is unbearable I had to hold My breath. The manager on the floor has a nasty attitude when you ask her questions regarding your loved one. Medicine was given at 3am and not it’s 10am and the patient ask for pain medicine in which she still has not received after asking several nurses who gave the run around and then telling the charge nurse and still nothing. Ridiculous that you have to be in pain for so long. Service sucks. The patient called me crying because no one will attend to her needs after pressing the call button for 30 mins. I called to complain, and was given the incorrect individual, once corrected the person was not available. Called back to speak with the charge nurse and she said pharmacy hasn’t verified the medicine which was put in after 3am? Ask how long does it take she couldn’t give me an answer. Ask to speak with the Dr. and was told he made his rounds and will not be returning today!!!!!!!!! Totally unacceptable. She will be signing her self out this hell hole and getting the proper care she deserves. Please don’t take your love One here, you will be very disappointed. Sincerely a concern irritated family member!!!!

I can’t even with the drs and nurses here, tell me you don’t have rabies vaccine n refer me somewhere they do instead of admitting me n making me miss my window and a week later telling well we only do rabies vaccine only if get bitten by a bat. Like what? What if the cat that bit me was bitten by a bat or raccoon? Did you go to school 8 years and can’t think this could happen? Now I have to live with fear I might die from 100 fatal disease bc this place wanted to make money n didn’t follow the necessary steps. Even my vet told me I should ask them for rabies shot. I should have never trusted them and gone to a place that would have listened to me. The dr was extremely rude and full of himself. The nurse that didn’t even know how to properly wear a mask kept reeding me the side effects. Lady why do you thii came back? Because I’ve been terrified from reeding what could possibly happen n feeling ill. I wish i had read them day one so I wouldn’t have missed the opportunity. Also my reg dr told me they prescribed me a weak antibiotic so she prescribed a stronger one. If you value your life don’t go here because they don’t value your life, they just care to make money. While i was walking out this patient was brought in n kept screaming take to another hospital not here. I know the feeling now

I want to begin by giving a 5 star review to the nurse Zach Bils. He was very competent, professional, caring, responsive, concerned-the best at getting needles in on 1st try! He answered all my questions and sought out answers if he did not know. I could tell he kept up to date on my case as each test was done and really had my welfare and treatment first and foremost. The staff overall is very nice and I feel they are competent. They are what is best about the hospital. Emergency room nurse was great and needed evaluation and tests were done quickly . However the hospital is understaffed, sanitation procedures were lax, doctors said they were ordering procedures that never happened-(check of orthostatic hypotension for example). On the other hand specialists were sent in -so probably a plus. ITechnology and equipment is old. No call button in the emergency room -with doors closed there was no way to get anyone. Call button in the hospital room did not work. I think a key problem may be that the hospital is underfunded and doing the best it can.

I was going here for a health provider, I ended up meeting Dr. Emelita Co. Now starting off it was fine but as time went by things started to go bad. Now I know I’m overweight for my age and height. So I started talking about with Dr. Co and I told her that I wanted to see if she could help me with it. She would body shame me all the time saying “You are very over weight and you should be able to run mile in this amount of time, I’m older than you and I can do it”.I don’t know why should would even say that to anyone that she don’t even know. It made me very sad and hurt that I stopped going to that hospital all together. It’s been a couple of months but body shaming isn’t ok and I wouldn’t have expected my doctor to talk to me the way she did. This place also has a problem with seeing their patients at their assigned appointment time. Every time I set an appointment I’m in the back room waiting at least an hour just to see the doctor. I had a very unpleasant time with this place and I wouldn’t recommend anyone here for any type of services.

Maintenance staff especially this guy named Danny ocasio I think he is the building locksmith. Horrible person and individual. Constantly harassing visitors and other employees. And nothing seems to happen to this Man. He recently harassed an ex-employee who was in the hospital with his father who had an appointment. Inviting the poor ex employee in front of his father to go outside and fight. And yelling profanities at him. witnessed this as well as other employees and patience, as the ex employee kepted his cool. This sort of treatment and harassment should not be tolerated at all. And needs immediate action towards this Employee. There is no way in the world that he should be able to get away with these violent actions, towards people on hospital ground's. My understanding he is still employed and have not faced any repercussions for his actions and horrible treatment towards visitor's. Or even hospital staff. Terrible place and very Toxic...

This hospital sucks. I’ve been in their ER and they made me stay 3 days and 2 nights. I was at very high risk of a heart attack, and they told me that I should stay there overnight so they can monitor my heart all night long. I went to sleep, I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the restroom, and I found out that the device that check my heart (see picture) was COMPLETELY UNPLUGGED. And nobody ever showed up. I could have easily die there of a heart attack and they wouldn’t notice it. They are super irresponsable. The head doctor, Dr. Mayuga, was so arrogant and incompetent. I will never ever come back to this hospital. I have also asked to the Hospital manager (Ms. Madonna) to change the incompetent Dr. Mayuga, and she said that she will change her, but that never happened. I have also called the “Manager, Patient Experience” Mr. Jaime Moctezuma but he never answered the phone, left him a voice mail, and he never returned my call.

  • Ingrid Thomas

I came here because I was in a lot of pain and will never go here ever again. Where do I start with what was wrong with this place, for starters the emergency room was a joke the iTriage was a open space with no privacy whatsoever for patients. Once the triage nurse too my vitals, The nurse practitioner came out and talk to me about my condition right out in the open in front of everyone and when I asked the Triage nurse why I’m I being treated out in the open and I started that’s against HIPPA guidelines to do that and they didn’t seem to care, because once my test results came back they Nurse Practitioner came out in the lobby and discharged me from the lobby, while discussing my condition out in the open. This place is a joke and it was so nasty in the triage area and in the lobby there was dried up blood on the floor. I’ve seen pet hospital better, than this place.

  • Patricia Hernandez

Do not send your loved ones there. In the seven days my family was there not one doctor call me about my relative and I am the only living relative in the immediate family. I called and the doctors never called back. If a patient goes in they are on there own especially during the pandemic. This hospital has been bad butIbut now it is worst. No one is checking on this hospital and it's day to day practice. It is a cold, cold place. I have to take my relative out of the hospital and take her to another and it was the complete opposite in care. It was like night and day. They only have patients because the ambulance has to take you to the nearest hospital but if you do not have to try to go another hospital. At this hospital if you do not have an aggressive advocate you will come out feet first. I have had more than one horrible experience at Norwegian.

  • Reese C (Reese)

Place needs MAJOR MANAGEMENT AND STAFF UPGRADES! Those in place that are supposed to be helping the sick have the worst attitudes and bedside manners I have ever come to see. Staff not wearing their own masks appropriately nor is help desk telling those entering hospital that they are REQUIRED to wear a mask while on premises. Sooooo many of staff in elevator and on floor I visited didn't even care to have one at all. Just a catastrophic thing as our communities suffer from lack of good hospitals. I pray my uncle's doctor is affiliated with another hospital as I care NOT for him EVER to come here again as they act as if they don't care truly. He has been a patient for 15-20 years when it was Norwegian. He as well wants no parts and for him to want to break routine is saying a LOT!! It's sad!!

  • Mikelino Ferrara

I have been to Norwegian American hospital about a dozen times, and it was terrible before covid 19, I believe what they did was remolded and made it look so clean,I was in shock and the emergency room was about a couple hours as usual in any hospital but the emergency room staff were great, except 1 mishap the doctor ordered a chest and neck exrays and the machine kept throwing out water on my head this happened 3 times then I got very upset I ask to see another nurse or someone that knows what they are doing, I felt bad later I told the other nurse to tell the guy I am sorry but as far as that went I would advise people to go there very good checkup they did for me take blood pressure take blood work very nice nurses in the emergency room. God bless everyone

  • Raven Strong

Wow I was surprised by these bad reviews! I got a call from my insurance that they are trying to get more people to get a physical so I was scheduled here and my physical was so thorough! Lots of bloodwork done to check for issues, and the doctor was even able to fill my prescription since my derm was out of network now, and it was no issue when I requested a female doctor. Everyone in the office was friendly, including the nurse and doctors and lab, and best of all there was basically no wait time at all!!! Very happily surprised by this as I have had many experiences at other doctors offices in the city where I haven't been seen till over an hour after my apt, or they leave me waiting for the doc to show up in the room, but not the issue here! Very efficient

  • John Paul Belen

Jasmine R. (Manager of Case Management) is leading an amazing team of Case Managers and Social Workers. I have not seen a team that’s very cohesive and super professional. They are so hands-on when it comes to their patients. So easy to communicate with them. At times, as a SNF, we tend to be “demanding” with questions and concerns. Everyone in that department is so patient and willing to help us in any shape or form. If there’s only a team of the month that we can vote for, we will definitely vote for all of them (multiple times). It’s always a pleasure working with them and more power to this department. Great leader, great team, and great organization.

  • Melissa Mayfield Avila

I haven’t been to Norwegian American Hospital in a while. It has a bad reputation but I went to the ER because I wasn’t feeling well. The check in nurse Wilson was so nice and considerate. He really went out of his way to make me comfortable. Even the security officers apologized to me for a scene that a homeless man had been making. I was very impressed with the empathy they showed me. Especially when the ER is filled with covid every day. So I tried not to bother them too much for an update on when I would be seen. The doctors and nurses and everyone working in a hospital needs a standing ovation for the constant and very helpful work they are doing..

  • Maggie galicia

I don’t normally post but whoever is in charge of setting up the scheduling system for the chiropractor/ orthopedic needs to find a better system. It’s very frustrating when you have to wait over an hour with an appointment time. I got here at 1:55pm and my appointment is for 2pm and it’s currently 3:04pm on a Tuesday and I still have not been seen. In that case then stop accepting appointments and only do walk ins. Or figure out a better system. Some of us do not have the luxury of waiting hours at a hospital for a follow up! Some of us have jobs, if 2pm is to packed I could’ve easily been here on time at 3pm and would not have wasted my valuable time.

  • Artos Alvalle

The hospital looks much nicer and they have been slowly improving but some of the staff are very rude... I finished my appointment with the general surgeon and went to my primary care provider's office in this hospital to schedule an follow up appointment, she had me waiting there for 25 minutes not even doing anything then goes into her cell phone and at that point I just walk out and called central scheduling. That same person refused to let me see my doctor when I was 7 minutes late and now antagonizes me whenever she gets a chance, which is definitely not an attitude to have if you are a healthcare worker.

  • Yedsemei Martinez

The worst hospital ever they don't care about there pt there so much I could write but too much nurses are rude, Dr don't care , my mom went in with chest pain , they admitted her she has diabetes. High blood pressure and the nurse refused to give her any medication she needs daily , she had horrible night pain in her chest then you tell them I want to leave they tell you go ahead you leaving at your own risk and the insurance will not pay for the other hospital stay horrible people and 4 day later she still there and nothing done yet I wish I could rate this 0 don't go there you will die

  • Aubrey

My brother was rushed to this hospital by ambulance due to very high blood pressure. We weren’t sure if he was having a heart attack or had a blood clot on top of this. However, the minute the doctors heard he had had panic attacks in the past, they wrote him off. DIDN'T EVEN RUN A STANDARD CBC! Told him, “it wasn’t necessary.” Then discharged him. I am beyond disgusted with his treatment or should I say lack there of. Basic standards of care weren’t provided. We are now taking to him a cardiologist because he is still extremely sick. I will never visit this hospital again.

  • Cindy Cardenas

By far the worst hospital in chicago!! Very rude staff and very unprofessional. My MIL went in for a stroke, and we were never allowed to see her. We brought in all the medicine she takes they said they had to take it and never gave it back to us. They decided to transfer her to a different hospital without our consent and just notified us next day. I keep calling asking for her medicine and her personal belongings because when she was transferred everything including her earrings clothes shoes and medicine was lost. Im still waiting for management to call me back

  • Antony Huerta

If you have a loved one in here please take them out. This is the worst place to bring anyone in general. Most of the nurses are careless not sure how their even licensed. So much malpractice and negligence. We had to take my In-law out through AMA. She came out so unstable and paranoid. She couldn’t talk at the moment since she was sedated. When we admitted her to another hospital and started to get better she told us how she was mistreated and the nurses would yell at her and would barely check on her when she was in extreme pain. Worst hospital ever .

  • Kelsey Mindham

I can understand why there are negative reviews. But if you go to an ER and expect to be seen immediately when you aren’t critical, then your expectations are too high. That being said, I went to this ER on a Monday morning and was seen almost immediately. I was there for an hour and got the care I needed. The doctor was also incredibly nice, as well as all the staff I came into contact with. Even the person I spoke with on the phone before I decided to go to the ER came in and checked in on me. There is very attentive and great staff at this hospital.

  • Kenia Toledo

The worst hospital ever!!! My mom was taken to this hospital via ambulance!! Stayed for 3 weeks only to be discharged in such a horrible state. On the way home, ( the day she was discharged) we had to rush her to another ER. She was admitted right away at the other hospital with dehydration, low blood pressure, low oxygen levels, and untreated skin wounds (some were on her chest where her EKG monitor leads had been placed ). Please stay far far away from this hospital. Especially the 4th floor, rude, unprofessional and definitely no compassion.

  • Oneida Fehring

The hospital is short staffed. The staff is working 12 hour shifts. Whoever is running this hospital need to be fired. The fourth floor smells of urine and rotting meat. I would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy. If you have a loved one there, get them out, the sooner the better. If the patient is unable to eat, they will not feed them. They take the trays away and don't care if the patient has eaten. They deserve negative stars. We have been trying to get our loved one out of there and into a real hospital.

  • Angelica Ruiz

I was born here back in 1999 and I gave birth to my son here in 2019… I stayed with him in the units they place babies with jaundice in. One of the nurses were feeding a baby and was falling asleep in the chair with the baby in arms. I should have taken a video because that is extremely dangerous and I was scared to leave my son there for a whole other night. I leave 2 stars because there was a blonde nurse who was the sweetest ever. And a Dark skin lady who helped me with my newborn I appreciate them a lot.

  • joseph ruz

so my 2 kids were born here. labor and delivery unit is great. wonderful nurses and doctors. (they messed up my sons Circumcision a bit) but the mental health department is completely trash.. super rude intake. the mental health doctor is there one day a week and usually blows off that one day. my mom passed and my son was hospitalized the same day. i was a wreck. made me a appointment for a month later and the doctor didnt make it. highly recommend a different hospital for mental health… the ER sucks too

  • Sue Blackstone

I had foot surgery a month ago and it was a great experience. From the first person who took my temperature at the main entrance to the staff passing me through the hallways, everyone acknowledged me with a hello or just a smile. Staff who were there to admit or treat me were very nice, friendly, and engaging. Great bedside manner, compassion, and a very consistent professional team of people. I'm having surgery on my other foot this month and I look forward to yet another fantastic experience.

  • Harissa Felis

I read the reviews before going, and I’ve been to my fair share of emergency departments so my expectations were tempered to say the least. While I did wait a lonnnng time, it’s understandable given we are in a pandemic, most industries are understaffed, it was a holiday, middle of the night, etc.I otherwise found the visit to be very pleasant. I thought the doctor, nurses and administrators were very nice and very helpful. One of my better ER experiences overall.

  • Petra Castrejon

Wish I could give it zero. The worst experience ever. The nurses are mean. They pocked me more than 8 times, saying they couldn't find my vein. They are just unprofessional. The doctor was nice. It was the nurses that are there are just awful and not polite called my mom a stupid animal for taking me out of this hospital, but she made a good choice, she took me to another hospital and they found my vein the first time. They fed me and actually stopped my pain.

  • Hannibal Graham

The emergency room triage nurses are very rude and incompetent. I took my schizophrenic mother there and was treated like a 2nd class citizen. Triage nurses were laughing and gossiping while patients were sitting around suffering. I asked one simple question and was looked at with an intimidating stare by all three who were not helping any patients at the time. Then Neglected to enter my name as a person to contact for a severely schizophrenic senior citizen.

  • Alex Mendoza

I’m sorry to all the people that come to this hospital, I went to suite 405(urology) the doctor who works there ( Malbar), he is of very old age and has a hard time hearing seeing , I really can’t believe that this person can still practice medicine when he is bearly able to stand any more. He literally was typing so slow I was just sitting there watching him type for atleast 20 minutes.I walk out , I think cook county is better.

  • Colin Bird Martinez

One of the worst hospitals I have ever been too. I was dragged there by a EMT otherwise I wouldn't have gone. They never gave me a adequate diagnosis, waited forever, were rude and demeaning, its dirty, and to top it off they didn't take down my insurance information accurately... or my name and sent the bill to collections. It's also more expensive than our world class hospitals, U of C and Northwestern. Pure incompetency.

  • Stephanie

Abused my grandfather for days, refused to let us see him almost the entire time. Drugged him, kept him unconscious and lied about his condition. This place should be shut down. Who doesn't have case workers on the weekends?? Refused to transfer him to a better hospital so they could make more money. Pathetic excuse of nurses and doctors. They should all be stripped of their licenses. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE.

  • Victoria Lane

This is the worst hospital to ever send your love ones to. Nursing is poor they don’t do any discharge teaching. They sent my love one home without her supplies. I literally had to send her back to the hospital she couldn’t be at home without her pump and other supplies. They just wanted her out of there. What professional nurse would discharge someone with nothing? Think twice before going there. Stay safe.

  • Rob Lopez

If you need a cardiologist never choose the cardiologists from this place, they do not care to take care of you, they care to make the money than finding people's health issues, running without, READ THIS without taking blood pressure, nurse did it it before him, he was supposed to make sure everything was ok, he was just, bla, bla, bla and out. How much he made for this worthless visit, 200.00, 300.00.

  • Sam Sam

Nurses and doctors do not care for their patients. Instead they post videos about your treatment laughing at your pain. They prefer to give you controlled substances that put you to sleep rather than address the actual reason for your visit. Melissa Stopka also doesn’t know how to burp a colostomy bag. I will never understand how people who are so against humans TAKE JOBS TO TREAT HUMANS.

  • Patricia Karczewski

My daughter was brought here by ambulance this morning. The physical facility of the ER appears run down. I hope the ongoing construction is rectifying that. The staff were 5 star. Their care of my daughter was compassionate and spot on. I am an RN. I saw staff dealing with some difficult patients and they all kept their cool. They must all be wearing invisible halos. Kudos to them.

  • Guadalupe Salinas

Just had my C section delivery here.. Dr.Tarsha is amazing she cares about her patients.. The labor and delivery nurses were awesome! My night time nurses really helped me while I was there.. The cleaning and room service staff we're so nice.. My only complaint is the nurses are spread thin they need to hire more good nurses! The food wasn't that good but it was edible and free..

  • Natalia Rios

The labor and delivery staff took such great care of me from the moment I checked in to the moment I left. The staff was very attentive, very empathetic and knowledgeable. I did not want to leave after a few days of being under their care. I truly missed their help and all they did for me, my son and husband. Keep up the great work and professionalism. Thank you!

  • Lawrence Veach

The hospital is very dirty the doctors try to admit you if you have any kind of insurance and the food is disgusting I seen workers just change the sheets and not clean the room my room had throw up on the bathroom walls bugs in there and it smelled like garbage then the doctors just don’t take care of you the right way never will go back there

  • Jennifer Strain

You have a nurse there by the name of Melissa Stopka that believes rendering her patients unconscious is a better alternative than advocating for their pain relief!! She also believes poking a hole in a colostomy bag is a good idea instead of releasing the gas every 2 hours. I guess she is above actually caring for her patients!!

Thank you for the care you had with my mom,in the E.R and I C U,it's been a year she has passed and today I got her medical records I read all they did for her in 4 days, the care each Dr's and nurse did for her.Thank you nurse Jane in I C U for caring so much, you all did your best to keep her alive, but my God had other plans.

Fantastic experience delivering our baby back in December. Nurses and staff were great! Our son was born only 16 min after arriving and the Physician on call and staff were quick and fast to make sure we were taken care of. The Lactation specialist was amazing, we were even sent home with a “meal to go”! Can’t say enough.

  • Melanie Collazo

That one star is for the attentive care my Dr. Charles provided to my father in the emergency room. The following days in the hospital’s telemetry unit were a nightmare. Patients are discarded to this unit and left to fend for themselves, which is terrifying for those with language barriers or diminished mental capacity.

This review is about Melissa Stopka This evil nurse does not need to be taking to social media to TikTok about anyone else problems! This women is evil search her name on TikTok! I will be calling to complain as well all nurses should be checked! This is insane! No nurse should go to social media about any patient

  • Jasmine Rodriguez

If I could rate this location 0 stars I would. My mom has been trying to get a hold of the status of her sister along with me trying to get a hold of them. We kept getting hung up on by the nurse. I would recommend nobody to send their loved ones to this hospital. They are disgusting and should be SHUT DOWN.

  • Dman Cottrell

Shut this hospital down!! Not helpful at all!! Had me and my family waiting 4hrs For a X-ray on a broken leg whole time not give no pain medication. When asking the staff about family member they lied about treatment that was given. Sent home with a fallow up basically nothing was done. Worst hospital ever

  • mary lugo

The worst hospital to put a loved one in. Nurses do not care and Drs. are worst. They want to keep you to make money and never disclosing what the issue is. Please do not send anyone here. Soiled beds, gowns and no one answers the nurse button. Do not send anyone here.

Outstanding ! Quickest ER check-in ; Doctor , Nurse, & Staff were very efficient & compassionate. Got there at 5pm & discharged by 7pm. I had 101° temp + flu/covid /pneumonia like symptoms which tested negative. Bad URI and pharyngitis was my ailments.

Back in the days 70’s ,80’s & 90’s I feel this hospital was very nice to go and visit a patient. Now I feel that’s all gone. I personally had to go there. I took my mom there yesterday it was very noisey (loud) dirty and some were even rude…

  • Lucas Smolik

This place is so chaotic. I’ve not slept in a day and a half due to all the noise. This has been the most painful and exhausting day of my life. If you want a place to rest after a painful surgery, this is not a place to relax and recover.

  • Taya Ellis

The psych ward staff was very careless and rude except a select few. I seen two staff members curse at patients unprovoked and they were very disorganized and failed to communicate with one another. I’m lucky to have made it out alive!

  • Christina Calvillo

My daughter had to visit the ER. They mis wrote her prescription 3xs which caused us to have to be back an forth all weekend getting the doctor to write it properly. Definitely taking a longer drive to another hospital next time.

  • Melissa Dildy

Brought my cousin here for his follow up appointments after his stay (stroke), EVERYONE was nice & courteous. I’m a firm believer in being kind to everyone... and they will generally be kind back & bend over backwards for you.

  • Shelly Thompson

You have a RN snowing patients with HALDOL, Ativan, and Benadryl instead of addressing their pain!! Her Name is Melissa Topeka and she’s proud of it all over Tik Tok!! She said the Laurie t was snowed for 10 hours!!

  • Iris Almestica

Worse hospital ever super ghetto. Over two hours, and I still haven’t gotten Iv feeling super sick and they just have me waiting for so long and haven’t done anything last time I come to this so called hospital.

  • G. G

The review for this hospital should be a 1 star, they will literally let you die in this hospital. Don’t come here unless your DYING. They won’t help you otherwise, even if you’re pregnant or a child.

  • Jess Wood

To allow a practitioner to repeatedly make comments about the care of patients on a platform like tik tok where Melissa Stopka spreads misinformation is dangerous and quite frankly poor practice.

  • Maria Gonzalez

Melissa Topeka is a nurse here who put a patient to sleep just because she was in pain. This is not a safe hospital if this is how their nurses treat patients. Do not come here for your pain.

  • JynnArt

You have a nurse named Melissa Stopka who posts Tiktoks discussing patients, their treatment, and the unethical measures she takes regarding their treatment. It's shocking and sad.

  • Stephen DePooter

One of the last remaining independent hospitals focused on serving the community. Great staff and high quality! This hospital is the diamond of the Humboldt Park community.

  • Kimberly Bodle

The nurses at this facility think it’s acceptable to laugh at their patients pain, knock them out on meds, and NOT advocate for them. Disgusting. I’ll never go here again.

  • isabella pons

Thank you Humboldt Park Health staff for your professional kind hard work! The nurses and staff were efficient, loving and knowledgeable! Thank you.

  • Mario pons

Humboldt Park Health has the most loving, caring professionals the community could ever ask for. Thank you for your great service.

  • MiMi Willoughby (MiMi421)

Registered nurses are making fun of patients and torturing them. Then go post about it on TikTok. Do better Melissa S.

  • Rasheed Jabbar

I could barely breathe, the nurse stood there and said “ we’re going to help u” while she couldve just helped me

  • blizzard vision

I highly recommend this hospital to all the people in the community. Wonderful service. Thank you.

  • alexi conner
