Authentic Japanese restaurant
"An absolute gem of a Japanese restaurant nestled in Little Saigon"
"We went just before 3pm so we were lucky they were still open for lunch, as they close from 3pm to 5pm"
"Was quiet disappointed by the lack of experience and appalled that they charge an additional $3 for the miso soup"
"Decent food in the area! Soft rice on sushi rolls and crispy tempura and loved the super fresh kingfish sashimi"
"• It locates inside Little Saigon Plaza, right next to Oliver Brown"
An absolute gem of a Japanese restaurant nestled in Little Saigon. The ambience is warm and welcoming and comfortable. The space is well lit with warm lights and not overly bright. The music in the background is chillaxed and not too loud but just the right volume for an enjoyable time conversing with others or just eating alone. The seating is very comfortable and spacious and there are a decent variety of tables to choose from. Everything is perfectly clean and presentable. They do table service here but there is also the option to order from your phone (you still pay at the counter even if you order on your phone). I love the way they do this system because people can opt for table service if they feel like or they can just order on their phone if that's their vibe. Either way, the servers are always available and welcoming and attentive and helpful no matter which option you choose. And the food! Wow. Amazing, authentic Japanese cuisine that is just so delicious and yummy and fresh! The vegetable udon was so delicious and served piping hot and fresh. It was such a delightful combination of hearty soup and thick tender chewy udon noodles. There was a nice amount of different vegetables and tofu in the dish as well. This is probably the best udon I've ever had. The noodles are especially a standout with their texture and taste. The agedashi tofu was fresh and had a slight crunch on the outside with a soft inside that just melts in your mouth. The seaweed salad was really nice too. Overall I cannot find a single fault in this restaurant and I had a really great time dining here for dinner. I will definitely be back for more.

We went just before 3pm so we were lucky they were still open for lunch, as they close from 3pm to 5pm. We stayed about 1 hour. We had a Salmon teriyaki Bento, tempura and chicken hand roll. All were very nice. The rice was exceptional. Very soft and perfectly cooked. The salmon was sweet and salty - the balance was excellent. The tuna sushi rolls were tasty, the salad dressing was nice, the orange was fresh. The tempura was good. The hand roll was yummy too. We also had some mochi desserts and that was the only thing that was below our expectations. They explained they were going to "check" it. So I am assuming they will hopefully create a dessert that will delight the senses. Or they will just change the mochi supplier or chocolate sauce. It was from a syrup type currently, they could incorporate Nutella perhaps. And the raspberry was extremely sour, and the strawberry was too frozen with no flavour. Besides that dessert, we were happy to pay around $55 for all that good food.
Was quiet disappointed by the lack of experience and appalled that they charge an additional $3 for the miso soup. Every other Japanese restaurant I have been to have given it complimentary with the rice dishes. As it's been quiet a long time since i dined in a Japanese restaurant but i am certain tea is normally for the guests at the table. We got room temperature tap water. After this experience I have a higher value to the other places I have been to. What I used to think was common cultural practice is either not applicable at this particular restaurant or the japanese places I have been too have been over the top fantastic. Very polite and hospitable. The complex this place in has good parking, but the public amenities are unclean
Decent food in the area! Soft rice on sushi rolls and crispy tempura and loved the super fresh kingfish sashimi. Nearly no customer service since you order by scanning QR code. Staffs are not attentive and just joking around. Sticky tables. Steak didn’t come with knife. Waiter forgot condiment that we asked for and it’s hard to grab their attention to remind them again. The male waiter working today is unprofessional and quite lazy. Wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here. Either have a better customer service or lower the prices since there’s minimum service.

• It locates inside Little Saigon Plaza, right next to Oliver Brown. So it's easy to find. • They open for lunch and dinner time separately. I have been here during lunch time so far. • It looks like having enough tables and seats for customers. Not really spacious, but good enough. • Their service is efficient. • The prices are acceptable, not really expensive. • I have tried their noodle bowls (udon, and especially ramen), I do like it!! I also like their side dishes (prawn tempura, takoyaki). Personally, their salmon roll is pretty average. Their eel temaki with a piece of cream cheese is actually a turnoff. In general, it is a good choice of Japanese food in local.
Provided feedback to the waiter about the 45 min wait for our food. I informed the supervisor and let her know next time if the food is going to take so long let the customers know before going to the table. She kept talking back saying I gave you a table without a booking. She doesn’t take on feedback well and just kept saying thank you loud, so I stop providing her feedback and get you. Food is okay but for the wait there. There are better places especially with that kind of attitude from the waiter. Don’t bother coming to this restaurant, better service better food around little siagon.

Staff were friendly and personable, helping us choose from the menu and giving us suggestions that were well-placed but not pushy. The eel don was amazing, soft and tender, the chicken katsu was also very good, crispy and very filling. We were served one type of sauce but the server also asked us if we wanted to try the bbq sauce which we enjoyed even more. The bento boxes are worth it. It was so filling and well-cooked! Every ten minutes we had a server asking us how the meal was, topping up our tea and cold beverages. In all, a great experience in terms of food and service, will definitely have to come again.
I ordered takeaway avocado tofu salad as I can't eat high cabs and meat particularly at night time. They gave me tuna sushi rolls. By the time I realised the mistake, I already home, dinner time, exhausted. I called them up, they didn't pick up the phone. I left a message, they didn't reply. 2 days later, I came back and told them the mistake they made, shown photo as a proof, they said sorry (as a habit than really sorry) but stare at me like why are you complaining! so I walked out didn't bother to spend any more energy to this poor service restaurant.

In terms of taste and portion, the food was 10/10. The service however was not. There were more than enough staff for 3 tables of 2 but it was extremely hard to get their attention. Meanwhile, you can see them just chatting. There’s nothing wrong with having conversation with your co-workers but at least make sure you still have your eyes on the customers. Requested for the katsu to be separated from the ramen, the server said it was okay, will not be a problem. But still came with the ramen I had to separate it myself.

Delicious food. I loved the Salmon Teriyaki set which had fresh sashimi included and my husband enjoyed his katsy curry. I used the qr code and online menu to order but staff were attentive and food came out reasonably quick and table water was given without needing to be asked. Will be coming here again!

I rarely ever write reviews but IKI Sushi and Grill Bankstown always exceeds my expectations every time I have gone there and I’m usually super picky with food. Just when I think they’ve done a great job they one up themselves. Excellent service and excellent, delicious, carefully prepared food always. Have never left upset, if anything I’m always happier after spending time there thanks to the super friendly staff and chefs and my stomach feeling satisfied at a great price. Have always felt welcome there and IKI Sushi and Grill will be mine and my fiancée’s only Japanese eatery!
Customer service was lovely and accommodating. Sushi platter was tasty and presentable. Chicken teriyaki rice was delicious and high recommended. But the wagyu beef tataki was a huge disappointment. Was expecting the beef to be thickly sliced and marbled like the photo in the menu, but received paper-thin beef with no marbling fat. For something higher priced than other items, it was a huge letdown. I didn't take a photo because I didn't recognise the dish at first until I looked back at the menu. I hope they either prepare the dish to what the menu shows, or update the menu.
Service: 5/5 Sushi: 4/5 'Wagyu' Hotpot: 1/5 Value: 3/5 Overall a 3/5 Japanese restaurant if you are planning to order anything other than the sushi. The miso soup was very bland and the salad for the bento set was not exactly fresh either. Do not under any circumstances order the Hot Pot. Not only was the Wagyu beef overcooked, it contained barely any mushrooms compared to the misleading photo. Altogether there would have been literally 1 piece of mushroom which was thinly sliced. Whereas the photo misleads you into thinking there will be lots of mushroom and Enoki perhaps.
I have never tried this place before as my partner took me to this fantastic place, everything seems to be made to order and is super fresh. I have the chicken kaarage don- Buri very tasty dish, and the ramen was also tasty, service was fast and parking is located inside the Saigon plaza. I am glad to have tried this place, but I cannot give 5 star rating, The staff were attentive but alas it is good to know what you want beforehand. Remember this is my experience and yours maybe very different. I say it's worth a try. Keep up the good work.
We asked for a fork and the girl was looking so hard to find one, she went up to a table that was full and asked if she can take a fork that was alright eaten out off, Food was really bad !!!, the steak was so tough and was not chewable at all, it came with mashed potatoe that was so hard that you could shred it, also came with a salad with old lettuce leaves!, the sushi we got was so warm it was a big turn off !, the manager was ripped us off, didn’t even give us a refund for the food we never ate ! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
Didn’t expect that much but sooo good I ordered tariyai chicken donburi, sauce is super thick and sweet. Two things that I don’t like about they put diced pickles. It’s not balanced with this food cause already have pickled ginger and they put salad with dressing on a bowl so either separate the salad or without dressing. Anyway food was great!

Came here for dinner and my dad whose in his late 60's ordered the eel don dish his hearing and taste is abit off and 3/4 through the dish he gave some eel to me and my sister to eat- immediately after putting it in our mouths we spat it out. The eel was off but my dad couldnt taste it but me and my sister both could. It even omit a sour smell. Straight away we told the waitress to tell the kitchen the eel was off but they didnt. 2 stars because they didnt acknowledge it and said it was just the sauce.
BEST SUSHI PLACE IN SYDNEY, i promise you im not exagerating OR lying. Always been fresh, i dont even eat cheese or eel but the dragon eel is a must try. Sushi size is fair BIG. I ate in many sushi places, its one of the very few that doesnt give me stomach pain, and my favorite sydney. Staff has always been nice to me. But i really think they should make a loyalty card or phone barcode thing. My mother started eating sushi cause of IKI. (my mum is arab and loves her koussa blaban)
Very nice japanese restaurant located inside Bankstown's Saigon Plaza, ordered the sashimi deluxe which was really good along with sashimi salad & also grilled salmon nigiri which tasted really good but abit small for my liking, will definitely be back to try the many sushi dishes they have available

this was the worst sushi I have ever had. The sushi was not fresh and was disgusting and was overpriced. The customer service was as shocking as the food and the staff were very rude and unhelpful. The shop was very dirty and it had a foul smell. The floors and the tables were sticky and dirty. the wagu tasted like jelly with bbq sauce and was shocking, the salmon was even worse and the sushi tasted expired. Overall a very bad experience and do not recommend.
Ordered the Wagyu bento while my partner ordered the chicken terryaki bento. We were both impressed with the entire meal - for me my wagyu was so tender and juicy, packed with flavour. The salad and salmon was fresh, the tempura and sushi rolls were delicious! Kudos to iki! Hope you keep on smiling to your customers and continue to serve great food. So glad we dont have to go all the way to the city for quality food. Will be back to sample your menu! Xo
I love this place. The food is so good. I've eaten here countless times now and I've never had a bad plate of food. The food is seasoned right with amazing dressings and sauces. The wagyu beef is tender and melts in your mouth with the gravy complementing it perfectly. Service is good and fast. Parking is easy with a big underground carpark for the plaza shops. This place is definitely a favourite and one I'll recommend for every food lover to try.
One of the best ramen places that I have been, takoyaki as a side dish makes it more complete! Their curries are good as well. Check out Sousui's Gamebox on YouTube

Upon arrival the staff were very attentive especially with bringing out bowls and cutlery for the kids. Food was fresh and delicious and the wait was not that long. The only dish we did not like was the goyza. This was definitely packet frozen and deep fried. On the pricing side of things, there are cheaper Japanese restaurants. We would definitely come back more often it prices were slightly cheaper especially on the sushi menu.
A big thank you to Jessica for the 5 star service with a smile. The King Fish Head was absolutely sublime, as always the Sashimi was fresh as ever, and the rolls were simple superb. Staff were amazing, Food was an absolute delight. Keep coming back again and again and again. Thank you again Jessica for your amazing service, hospitable service, and always a perfect smile :)

Came here for some quick sushi, the restaurant looks lovely and is well decorated. I had the fresh salmon nigiri, avocado baby rolls and taco karaage. The salmon was fresh and delicious and the taco karaage was crispy and delicious though the pieces weren’t very bite sized. The service is a bit lacking and rushed with not much communication from the servers and no one came to take our order until we had to ask someone.
My son and I love going to sushi places. We went here during school holidays and was our first time to try this sushi place. We ordered soft shell crab, karaage chicken don (rice bowl), miso soup and tiger roll. We are very satisfied and happy how delicious the food especially the karaage which we reckon is one of the best karaage we've had. It's not oily. Tastes beautiful. We will definitely come back here again.
The first time I came here i enjoyed it, so its a shame this most recent time was not good. The food took more than 30 minutes to arrive and they confused the order initially. Ordered the karaage ramen which was took salty both the broth and chicken. The sushi rolls to go with it did not taste fresh at all and there was too much rice. Disappointing to say the least especially knowing they used to be good.
Fantastic sushi place! It's located in the Little Saigon Plaza which is a small shopping centre with some underground parking and sometimes parking spots available on the street. They've recently updated the menu so there are a lot more options available now. Friendly staff, delicious food, decent atmosphere, fresh ingredients and they also deliver on Menulog.
On my this visit I ordered salmon avocado sashimi, miso soup, beef ramen. The food was exquisite. The flavors in all three dishes worked well. The presentation of food was enticing. The atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. I had great dinner. I definitely recommend the restaurant. The little saigon plaza has lot of car parking space, first 3 hours are free.
Disappointing sashimi and it was obvious the chef did not know how to slice the fish properly. The sashimi and sushi platter was not like the picture so felt like it was overpriced for what we got. The tempura batter was not light and tasted like it was crumbed. Not all was bad, the wagyu beef was tender and quite nice; and the service was great.
Was pretty good - our food came pretty fast and using the QR code was good! Had the ramen it wasn’t as hot as I expected but very delicious and you know it’s nice cos I came in full and I still ate the whole bowl :)

Great friendly service and sashimi tasted fresh. Due to previous great review, I decided to come with a group of 8 and ordered quite a few dishes. Restaurant was not half filled w customers yet the food came out very slowly. Other foods such as the rolls and donburi were bland. Wasn't happy with the food and left hungry. Also expensively priced.
Big place, service was good and quick had lots on the menu to choose from but the quality wasnt that great. the beef tataki we ordered came out really raw and thick, the beef that was used for it was completely wrong. Oysters were also not fresh and sauce for it was not right. Would not recommend, not authantic Japanese. Never come back again.
Recently purchased some bento boxes which did not arrive complete as im with items missing for both unless photos are not correct, or they do not operate like most places where bento boxes come with rice and miso soup very hit and miss, when you dine in its generally fine, when you do take away you may get everything you order or you may not
Best Sushi in town I tried almost every sushi place in Sydney, IKI sushi & Grill are by far the best Excellent service, excellent quality, and reasonable prices We go there almost every week and we always look forward to visiting them again Keep up the good work guys The Chicken Katsu Curry and the prawns tempura roll is a must try
Excellent Japanese food, we loved the sashimi and grilled sushi. Wagyu beef didn’t exactly look like the picture on menu but still tasted really good. They have a great variety on their menu such as bento boxes, ramen, sushi rolls etc Service was a bit slow but staff are really friendly and try to be as attentive as possible.
I was skeptical when it first opened, because of the slightly high price tag, so I didn't go everytime I walk pass. But I finally decided to go try it. I was really surprised on the quality of the food, especially the grilled salmon, it is so fresh and just melts in your mouth. I will come back and try the ramen next time.
Excellent food and service all the time. Chicken katsu curry, salmon salad, soft shell crab and chicken karaage are particularly good! I also left my wallet at the seating outside which the manager (thank you so much Jessie!) kept and returned to me at my next visit! Highly recommend - best Japanese food in Bankstown!
Great well rounded Japanese restaurant with a lot of options for delicious mains and sides. Food is always consistent and never disappoints. If you’re unlucky you’ll have to wait to get a seat but definitely worth it when you sit down.

We went to this restaurant yesterday for lunch. We had ordered chicken katsu Udon and sukiyaki beef rice for two of us. The food arrived and it was surprisingly small portion. End up we had to go to paparich for our 2nd lunch. With this kind of price and serving portion, we will not be visiting this shop again.
Ordered the chicken teriyaki don via uber eats. Chicken was beautiful. Nicely caramelised yet still moist and just the right amount of sauce. Actually one of the best I’ve had. I bet it would be even nicer if it wasnt delivery and I actually eat inside the restaurant. Will definitely make a visit soon.
Yes this place is a lil gem of Lil Saigon.. always go here if im craving for it.. Always ordered a sashimi platter with asashi to complete it. Very nice staff to attend your needs, they seem to remeber me because i always order those 2 plus extra dishes to have when im there.

Mediocre service. Food was good but not the best. Can't make a decent cup of tea - ordered hot tea and told the server it was cold, only for it to be heated up in the microwave. Received the cup again and it was STILL cold. Disappointing because I remember this place was amazing a year or two ago.

The sushi was mediocre, and the bento box was one of the worst that I've ever had. Fried katsu and shrimp tasted like oil. It was so bad, my partner thought the orange was the best in the box. Overall, extremely overpriced for the quality of food. Customer service was quite decent though.
I specifically sent a message to IKI to ask if they do any dishes with soup where the rice comes INSIDE the soup dish and I was specifically told yes. Travelled there only to find that this isnt true. Got up and left straight away, so the food may not reflect 1 star but my experience does

Great variety of options on the menu, but not too sure about their curry... It tastes like Indian not Japanese. When people feel like Japanese food that is what they should get. Indian curry would be better in an Indian restaurant
IKI Sushi and Grill is the best authentic Japanese Restaurant in the west by far. And the service and cleanliness is 10/10. You must check their menu .Our family loves the chicken teriyaki and fresh sashimi . …
Very overpriced Japanese. Food was average. Tonkotsu was tough and chewy. Beef tataki and hotpot was very bland. Yakisoba was OK but not as good as other local japanese restaurants. Takoyaki was OK and so was the sashimi.
Food is great and the serving is generous. The price is fair. The restaurant is also clean and the customer service is acceptable. Not recommended for Ramen (not their specialty) but other Japanese food is above average.
Slow service for a Tuesday night dinner... even though there were 3 chefs in the kitchen. The food is very average without much flavour. Salmon is sliced thick and chews in the mouth. miso soup didn’t taste good at all.

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Sydney. Fresh sushi and good hot dishes as well. My favourite here is definitely the sashimi sushi, wagyu stake and crunchy tempura. Friendly staffs with excellent service.
Food was fresh. Taste was actually amazing to my surprise. Staff are VERY FAST considering it's half full and mid week. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Seafood was a delight. Prices are good. Highly recommended!

Horrible tasting food that is not authentic Japanese. They use canned bamboo shoots in their ramen… yuck!! They also say they are a Japanese restaurant, but the greeting to customers was in KOREAN!!
The sashimi is super fresh feeling. l would reccomend getting it the most since any japanese resturant can serve other japanese dishes but sashimi quality can be make or break for a japanese meal.

Its one of our regular Japanese cuisine in Bankstown, its close to my workplace. Its really good and busy, esp on weekends.

Very hit and miss.. mediocre food. Definitely stay away from oysters and sea food Service is okay, ambience good. Food is the main let down here.

Food's not very good; either bland or inedible. At least the restaurant is clean. Portions are extremely small for the price, especially sushi.
Really great to have a good quality Japanese restaurant in the area. Sashimi was fresh and the eel donburi had a lovely balance of flavours.
Good atmosphere, good food and good service. There was a lot you could order from the menu and the prices were reasonable. Would recommend.
Very slow service for a meal. Waited for 40 mins for 1 dish. Very good food, since we've been ordering via uber eat. Stick with take away.
