Improovy was quite the let down, I read a million reviews and really wanted to like them however they did not deliver. Initially when I received my Improovy quote I thought "this seems too good to be true" and it was. After receiving my quote over the phone, I read over the contract and thought that at least there is a 30 day touch up policy. I thought that a company that puts that out there must be reputable, little did I know that they could put it on a contract and just not uphold it. I'm getting ahead of myself though and I should start at the beginning. The project coordinator per Improovy is supposed to come to your home on the first day of the job to assess the home and see if the previous virtual quote still holds true or if it gets adjusted. Our project coordinator never came out to our home, instead I sent several pictures to them of the full situation as we have a stucco home that needed repairs. I was requoted a new price after sending in the pictures for what I thought would be additional "Prep Work". The prep work that was completed was very little in regards to the stucco as there are cracks and lines that are coming through the paint, things that should have been patched. When the subcontractor came out they were unaware of the quote change and the scope of the job. After they powerwashed our home there were paint chips throughout our garden and all over that we are still picking up. Improovy states that they do a primer, followed by 2 coats of paint. I can completely understand that many primers are in the paint, however one coat was done on our home, as witnessed by the areas where I can clearly see the previous color bleeding through, aside from the fact that I never saw the painters do a second coat. I responded to my project coordinator within the 30 day time frame to have touch up's done and guess what? Of course they have never come back. I sent in various pictures of paint chipping off that was done in June of 2023 and still no one has come out to fix anything even after I have repeatedly reached out to the subcontractor and project coordinator. Truthfully I'm busy and don't have a ton of time to be chasing down different people and continually checking in. If I could do it all over again, I would never have gone with Improovy, I received a slightly more expensive quote from Certa Pro and definitely should have gone with them. I feel as though they are just a large company doing as many sub par jobs as possible. So it's pretty awesome that I went with Improovy and paid for everything because they didn't live up to their part of the contract at all. Please avoid this company like the plague!

It was cool that Improovy had an instant painting price tool on their website. I was curious to finally get an idea of how much it'd be to paint our apartment in Chicago. So we filled out the price form and a minute later it popped out a price for us right then and there. This was already leaps and bounds easier than working with any other painter so we were intrigued. The total to paint the walls of our 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, hallways, and foyer was under $2400 which seemed very reasonable. What's more, we were able to book our paint job online which was super convenient. Shortly after, we got a call from our project manager who confirmed details and got us in touch with our local Sherwin Williams paint color designer to help us pick paint colors. We didn't realize that each of their paint jobs included a free expert color design session so this was a pleasant surprise (seriously incredible they include this with each job). Picking the right paint colors was honestly something we were stressing about so it was a huge weight off our shoulders having expert design help. Yvonne, the color designer, was great and coordinated a modern paint color combo for our house based on our preferences and current decor. We were also able to add the trim and ceiling painting to our job using the Improovy web app which was seamless altogether. Not to mention, the extra paint items very well priced for the work being done. A big thanks to everyone at Improovy (including their incredibly professional and friendly painters) for an exceptional painting service experience. Our interior paint job look incredible and we highly recommend going with Improovy Painters of Chicago any time you are in need of a great local house painter nearby.

Update: It has been 6 months since Improovy came out to paint most of our house. We booked them to paint the entire lower level of our house, a bathroom, powder and two bedrooms. The previous paint job done in the house was excellent, but we hated the colors. We must have received a subpar crew because the quality just did not live up to our expectations, particularly in our dining room where we had a dark blue color painted, which really brings out the areas that were done sloppily. The worst area is around the crown molding where lines are uneven. In our sons' bedrooms, we paid extra to get another coat painted on the walls and you can still see through to the original paint color in some areas. In the bathroom, I had to go back in and repaint a section because it completely peeled up after a few weeks. We had a flat coat painted everywhere and really wish we had gone with a semi-gloss paint in the bathrooms. The crew was completely unhelpful here and basically said they'll do whatever we want. That's great, but we wanted their professional opinion here and regret not going semi-gloss. After Andre saw my negative review, he came out himself to touch up some areas, and he did give us a few hundred dollars of our money back, but after living in our house for 6 months, paying an obscene amount of money to Improovy to paint our house, and seeing the paint jobs in other friends' house, we did not get the quality we expected and are pretty disappointed overall in what we received. I plan to get the house reviewed and fixed by another company one day but for now, we have to live with it. I'd recommend going with someone else but based on other reviews, we may have just received a subpar crew

Great communication, great roll out on who I would be working with, shows face and little info on who I’m talking too so it feels personal and connected immediately. I was really confused and unsure with colors and they were great on suggestion with colors to match the house. They were quick to respond when I was concerned with a few things since I was out of town for most of this. They had a system where I could see progress photos at the end of each day. I loved that because I could just look remotely whenever I wanted to see the progress. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves too! Unfortunately, there was enough hiccups and mistakes found along the way that I do feel like I spent a lot to go back and have to fix myself. Also unsure if it was the finish I was suggested but with my own nail, I’ve already scratched off paint from the wall within 2 days of living in the house. As a long time renter before, I’ve never had this issue. Maybe the finish for my wall wasn’t the best or maybe this was a bad batch of paint. But disappointed because I have go back and fix again. Another thing on the new house list I don’t wanna deal with. For spending 7k, I kinda didn’t want to think about paint or paint related things. So just double check the type of finish you get and look under banisters and corners before you approve the final walk through.

After a raving review of Improovy from our friend we were excited to use them to paint our 2 bedroom condo, after hearing nothing but their swiftness, professionalism, and attention to detail. That was not our experience. TL;DR: Improovy uses subcontractors - ASK WHO YOUR PAINTER WILL BE, AND AVOID IGGY AT ALL COSTS. Per our contract, the condo was to be taped and tarped to avoid any incidental issues, etc, this is a pretty common painting technique. None of this was performed as evident by the paint ON OUR BRAND NEW FLOORS, light switches, and paint bleeding on the ceiling. Our new media console table was used as paint can storage, thus leaving a paint ring, and causing damage before we even used it. We were told 4 or 5 days max for the job, but it took 7 days. I understand delays, but when they send one guy (Iggy) and he works from 11am-4pm each day, this is unacceptable. The scope of work included walls, two ceilings, trim, and one door. We voiced our concerns with Improovy and they were surprised with what was happening, but were overall communicative since I sent them 50+ photos of the poor job being done. When you're paying thousands of dollars to get a paint job that I could have ultimately done better, it is very very frustrating. Use Improovy if you're willing to roll the dice, you just might get lucky...

Update: Thank you to Carr and team for coming back and fixing every single issue! The team did a great job and went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied with the updates. Still finding issues over a year later and are not happy to have received the landlord special at a premium price. This was our first time hiring painters and was a full ceiling and walls repaint for a 2 bed 2 bath condo. Some walls were beautiful, others like both bathrooms had coverage issues and now have to be repainted. The job took about half the expected time which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s clear that they were rushed (perhaps they had a bigger job come up) and cut corners. The crew came back for a full day of touchups after the service but had already let a significant amount of drips dry on our floors, doors, outlet covers and baseboards. We’ve spent hours scraping drips off tile floors, cabinets, and toilets with a credit card and are continuously finding new spots that were missed in touchups. Now that we are more informed on the standard to expect we will go elsewhere for future services. Stars for the few rooms that were perfect and for the front office that was helpful and didn’t buy the crew’s attempt to charge us for a third coat of paint that was not applied.

I needed an interior painter in Chicago to update the wall colors of my new condo after moving in. I didn't have hours to meet with painting contractors so it was very convenient that Improovy was able to get us a firm quote over phone/text and start the same week. Improovy's professional painting crew did not disappoint. They arrived promptly and did a fantastic job prepping the rooms to paint, including taping and covering our furniture, cabinets, light fixtures, and floors before the start of painting. I've ALWAYS WANTED a purple house. Blame my Savannah roots, but I just don't have interest in a plain jane house. My partner and I took the plunge and bought a two flat a year ago. The one thing I absolutely hated about it was the dingy vinyl siding and how it was the same color as every house on our block. I reached out to a couple painting contractors for quotes and advice considering A. The internet does not like the idea of painting vinyl siding and B. I didn't want to fork over the $$$ to update the siding since there was really nothing wrong with it except I didn't like the color. Improovy was very reasonable and easy to work with on scheduling with this garbage Chicago Spring weather. The contractors were amazing. They worked diligently throughout the couple days it took to paint and were respectful of all our plants, neighbors, etc. I AM BLOWN AWAY by the results and could not recommend them enough. It was a big project and they delivered. My purple house is everything that I've ever dreamed of and now is the most obnoxious house on the block. THANKS IMPROOVY!

It was my very first time having to do a drywall repair from water damage and I wasn't getting anywhere with the contractors recommended by my condo association so I started searching online and found Improovy. I'm not a huge fan of cold calling people so the online chat feature at Improovy is really a life saver. It was such a breeze to work with their whole team, from the online customer service representative Carr to the very professional Head of Productions Mike and our project coordinator Eddie with a seamless transition to our honest, reliable, highly experienced painter Jose. I was super impressed by their efficiency - they were able to get started right away to accommodate my timeline instead of having me wait for weeks if not months as quoted by other painting companies. Jose was very patient and explained all the details from his findings to me after cutting open our drywall. He took plenty of pictures and told me to do the same as evidence. Such a solid team, I couldn't have asked for anyone better!

Mirek did such a great job painting our house. Very knowledgeable and professional. Helped alot with decision making when it came to the finish . He did not take any short cuts and would even ask if we wanted to remove things like lamp shades , ceiling light covers, and chandeliers so that he can paint under/behind it which was a good call specially if we ever change or remove those things in the future . Eddie the coordinator did a great job communicating back and forth with me. Considering i kept making add-ons . He was right on top of it and would revise the estimate the next day or two. Finding these guys were easy. i spoke to Josh on the phone to get an estimate he was easy to talk to and easy to coordinate going around my schedule. The estimate was done online. He didnt need to come to the house we looked at pictures and dimensions of the property together and i got my estimate within hours . Everyone was very professional definitely got my moneys worth and more 10/10

It’s a double thumbs-up, five-star review for Improovy! I decided to tackle some interior painting at my sister’s new place while waiting for her moving truck to arrive from out of state. Didn’t know if I could find anyone of quality at the last minute, but Improovy came to the rescue! Reached out to them via Yelp, and they got back to me within minutes to see how they could help. They quickly understood the project at hand, estimated the painting to take 2.5 days, and had an available window to do the work. And after a brief conversation and using pictures of the house, they were able to quote me a very fair price over the phone. The result is nothing short of stunning. We couldn’t be more pleased! Chris made the front and back end of things seamless - helping me navigate the timeline and organization side. And the lead painter Jerrod was excellent. I will definitely be using Improovy for the next painting project - this time at my house!

I had Improovy come out to my home to paint my living room condo. From the online quote and online portal to request service to the end, this company was 100% professional. The prices were fair, and for me, the professionalism from them from the start was what won them the quote. I had a Project Mgr. Juan, who kept me up to date on the process and the scheduling to Cesar (sic) and his partner, came out to paint. The painting team prepped all surfaces, moved and covered all furniture carefully, removed all electrical outlets, and every piece of hardware so that painting was done beneath and the care they took not to make a mess. When they were done, the painters asked to borrow a broom and mop and proceeded to clean up after themselves. I would highly recommend Improovy 100% and will use them again.

Christian, Manuel, Alejandro and Lorette did a great job with the paint job. It ended up looking beautiful! We did our entire unit right after we did our cabinets with a company that specialized in cabinets and they were very careful with that previous paint job adding special tape and plastic onto them to protect them. Any detail here or there we saw and wanted to ask about or let them know about they were open to hearing it and fixing if needed. They provided a job coordinator, Daniel, as well, who helped us through the process, answered all our questions, and made sure we were happy with the results. And even through the discovery process, Autumn, who was the person helping us with the quote and everything, was communicative, flexible and responsive.

We had a good experience with Improovy - Mariela and her team did an EXCELLENT job painting our whole house before we moved in. For reference, they were able to complete 3 bedrooms, a living room, dining room, family room, large kitchen, pantry, hallways, landings (walls, ceiling, trim, window casings) in 7 days. Set up and cleanup was great - I’ve had painters leave lots of dust and grit behind, but not this crew - they took the time to appropriately cover everything and clean up when they were done. The painting itself was really well done - we did mostly white everywhere, but had two rooms painted different colors. They left us with the leftover paint for future touchups.

Eric, Mike and Nick were all awesome helping us get our work scheduled. April rains caused so many delays and these guys were always on it with updates and keeping us in loop, working with our desired times, etc. Got several quotes when we decided to paint the exterior of our home. We loved our experience with Improovy Painters! Oscar and Franklin worked on our house and did an amazing job. I hired Improovy to paint the exterior of my home. I could not be happier with how things turned out. My home is all cedar and they took time to prep and caulk everything so that the lines between my trim and siding is perfect. At first Chris told me my job was likely too small and recommended I try the app Thumbtack. I had trouble again getting quotes and with responsiveness so I went back to Chris. His price was steeper than I was hoping to pay but in the end it was worth it--his guys did a fantastic job, everything was clean and on time and professional.

This was the first time I’ve used Improovy. My project included minor wood repair of a deck and repainting. Hugo and his team power washed the large deck on a Friday, let it dry over the weekend and completed the project on the following Monday. Hugo and his team are the BEST! They did an AMAZING job! Our place was covered in 1950s wallpaper, some falling off, along with horrible colors, and hideous 1950s plaster work.
