My nephew and I didn't camp there just fished the paylake. The camping areas seemed quiet and the staff friendly, even opening a cam of corn for us when I forgot my can opener. The lake area is on a steep bank and both my nephew and I slipped or fell sown more than once. There was a bunch of fish activity with large carp constantly jumping from the water. We ended up catching one small mouth bass, one bluegill, and one keeper sized catfish across a four hour span. The guy fishing down the bank however was pulling in 12+ pound carp consistently so it was how or what we were fishing with not a lack of fish. A 33 lb carp was also landed and the guy one several hundred dollars in the fish pools. I would avoid setting up by a trash can as there were a ton of flies and gnats if you were close but none once you got a little bit away from them.overall I would fish there again .

Where to begin...if you are going to Indy Lakes to fish, this is the place for you. BUT, we were going there as campers FIRST and fishing SECOND. This place is definately set up for fishing. As far as the camp sites go...they are NOT maintained at all. There was trash everywhere not to mention the sites are not as big as they say online. We have a 36 foot Class A and were able to squeeze into the site by parking sideways. That worked since all the utilities were on the WRONG side (not sure why they would do that???). This place is very run down, it looks like no money is put back into the facility. The one bright side...it was fun watching the heron fishing and there was a beautiful sunset over the lake. We didn't bother doing any fishing because most of the people around us weren't catching anything. The was a BIG disappointment and we will not be back :(

First I was signing a waiver of liability for these folks and then told what to do when the circuit breaker tripped (indicates pre-knowledge). The reset is locked in a building only the owner has the key to. I have an Electrical Management System installed in my RV and when I plugged in to 30 amp, the EMS indicated reversed polarity. I used my 50 to 30 adapter and all was fine. I sent an email to the contact person on the paperwork telling them about the electric problems and the consequences of continuing to ignore this. The next day they sent a couple with a brand new trailer to hook to this 30 amp post. I told them what was going on and they thanked me and took off (I also gave them literature on ways to protect their trailers' electrical system). These folks care more about the fishermen than the RVers, IMHO.

Well.....where do I start? This is a pay pond so I figured we would possibly catch something, especially since we was told it was fully stocked. We bought lots of bait and stayed for 6 hours and caught nothing. We got no bites, everyone around had no luck either and the fish were swimming right in front of us. I can only assume that they are either not stocked as said or they are being well fed so they don't bite. My whole family was extremely disappointed with the fishing especially for the price that was paid. And the other patrons was highly disappointed as well. I wish it would have been different, at least the staff was nice! Added: I would love to hear from someone regarding this and to see what keeps people from actually catching a fish.

If you are a hard core fisherman, not a sport fisherman but one who wants to catch carp from a pond, here you go. If you want a place to stay with your RV, do not stop here. Most of the campsites are directly adjacent to a very, VERY busy highway that is noisy 24/7. There is a large amount of construction nearby so the gravel and dirt trucks run on the highway constantly. If you have pets or small children, this is not the place. There is no kind of fence or barrier to the highway. The staff can be helpful, but do not bend over backward if you are not happy. Not quite sure why this campground is listed with Good Sam - it should not be. It is NOT a good place to stay.

  • Chris Swain

If you're looking for a place to fish while camping, this might be a good place. Not a traditional family friendly campground. This place is set up for anglers and not so much for campers. We paid almost $100 for two nights. Got to the campsite and it was just a small patch of gravel with hookups. No picnic table or fire ring. The guys fishing all night had some sort of alarm, alerting them of a bite. That went off several times in the middle of the night on both nights. Can't believe they would allow this type of alarm at night with all the people camping.

Went in on Father's Day 2021 and Miss Linda was working. She was very friendly and helpful. The store was very clean and smelled fresh and clean. The restrooms were spic and span! Fishing is $20 for 6 or less and $25 for 6-12 hours. We were there for 6 hours and caught 0 fish. We did see about 5 people catch some fish where only one was big enough to weigh (it was 16.6 lbs). All fish are catch and release. They have one lake that is stocked with channel catfish that you can keep. You are able to bring a tent/canopy and a grill.

I don't usually score a place this low. In this case, however, I called the main office number to reserve a cabin. I was told by the clerk she does not make the cabin reservations and that she'll pass it on to those who do and they will call back. Unfortunately, they never returned my call nor a follow-up email. I was disappointed because we wanted to stay there since friends were staying in the RV there. But from the looks of the campground the back part, where my friends were staying, is really cramped.

  • Dean Ladigo

Didn't get a picture of the fish that filled my pocket with $400...ameture. I'll take a picture of the next one. I can't ever get friends to come with me, but who needs them when you can make new ones. Lots of good people out here. All for different reaons... Thrill of reeling in some money, outfishing your bro, catching a buzz (not a type of fish), leaving your problems behind if just for a little while. Any way you look at it.... Indy Lakes is where it's at. Here fishy, fishy, fishy.

  • Marvin Jones

This place is NOT for small children and or first timers....The pond was the size of my apt ... That cost 15 bucks and then theres the 6 dollar corn puffs that i was sold on when i asked what bait would be best for my lil one to catch a fish... We sat there for over 4 hrs and she didnt catch 1 fish....the guys behind us on their BIG lake caught about a dozen 10-15 pd buffalo carp and thats all i saw....Dont take kids here....pay lakes are supposed to catch fish , right???

  • Louis Bailey

Not sure why some bad reviews. As for the highway....that's a couple miles away. As for the fishing pool tools...they are written in plain English on your permit you get when fishing. So don't see the brouhaha there. I've patronized the place for years. Why? Very clean, beautiful and the owner and staff are friendly. The fishing and camping is wonderful, as the father of an 8yo son,the place is VERY safe and kid friendly. WiFi available, and great online store!

  • Nelson Gary

We went there today to fish because they said they we're stocking 500 lbs of fish and we waited and waited for the fish truck to come and we we're there all day and no fish we're put in the lake they told people the truck was on the way but never came, they took people's money and never stock the lake like they said, they just right down lied to everyone that came there today to fish now I remember why I stop going there in the first place.

  • Angela Peery (Dr. Peery)

It was our first night in a campground ever, and it was good. We were in the very first space, however, right across from the office and parallel to the road, which has a good bit of traffic all night long. People were fishing throughout the night and coming and going, which was hard for my dogs to understand! The staff was great, though. We enjoyed meeting our neighbors, too. Seems like a really great spot for families.

  • Joey Regi

If i could give this less stars i would. Was told they had stocked 200 lbs of catfish the friday and saturday, i went Sunday and caught nothing... the fishing was dismal for everyone there. I saw three cstfish caught out of the 2 dozen people there. I recommend not going here if you plan on catching fish. I wouldn’t be upset if it was free entry but when you go to a pay lake it’s supposed to be a pretty sure thing....

  • Gena Pinkard

Have been here for a few months. They have over 50 spots most with full hook ups. It is quiet and safe. This is a fishing camp also in the warmer months with big cash prizes. Lots are spacious not under each other's awnings like other campgrounds in the area. Has a grassy front to walk your dogs.

Very sad visit !! Hit a 24.1 with a pic of the fish on scales and it was my buddies fish .... but the lady in the bait house said she said it was a 24.2 .. the scale was never sitting still on 24.2... it froze on 24.1 that is what the fish weighed. Then the owner Billy kicked me out for a post on Facebook terrible place. They will screw you every time

It's not bad except it very close quarters RV to RV. It has full accommodations. No Wi-Fi at sites but has it at the office. If you love to fish it has 4 ponds to fish 24 hrs until Oct. They Have contests. Very quiet place except the morning traffic going to work. Can have dogs. Laundry facilities are very clean and the cost is very reasonable. People are VERY NICE WHO RUN IT. A great plus.

  • Loo Lee Tan

We stayed for 2 nights. It is very close to shops & grocery. The Staffs are very friendly & helpful. We met some very nice RVers too. Unfortunately, there's only a little sliver of grass patch to walk my pets. There is a 40 mph road right next to it with no barrier to prevent the cars from coming onto the grass. We can't even walk around the two lakes. Sad because it is a fabulous location.

  • Dorsai Shinryoshi

You CAN NOT fish for hours on end or all night. You have to buy fishing passes that are sold by the HOUR. The internet is USELESS! You can't log on. Electricity and internet are NOT included in site rental if you rent a year round site. Paying site rent after the office closes for the winter is highly difficult. The office/main building is NOT year round, even though some of the sites are.

  • Thomas Lagle Jr

Warning .... Had a friend go there and get kicked out for no reason at all. Not only did he get kicked out , he hit a jug and has a picture of the fish on the scale and they said it was a different weight so THEY didnt pay him and kicked him out before his ticket was up !!! Indy lakes is a terrible place to take ur family and friends folks

Really, really nice RV site. Clean, private bath/shower like at your home. Good water pressure. Really nice owner and staff. Stays open 24 hr due to fishing in lake. It is quiet at night, even with the road. View of the lake with ducks and jumping fish. Would highly recommend if you are in Indianapolis area. Reasonable price too. Thanks for a nice overnight stay.

  • Lawrence Medley

This place was really great I stayed here and worked and if you don't mind the fishermen coming and doing their thing then you will enjoy your stay I did enjoy fishing myself and caught several big catfish. The owner and the staff were very very helpful and always took time to make sure they're guess we're happy

  • ChaRell A

Very racist everyone playing music but when black people joined in playing music we were told they have a no noise policy The lake had barely any fish 100 people on the lake only 2 fish caught amongst everybody yes we all talked to each other around the lake for $30/person they should have the bank stocked

  • Megan Mccurry

Im sorry it just came to my attention that a bad review was left from my account. I am sorry. I have nothing bad to say about this place my parents have lived there for three years and it is a great place great management and employees all around. Once again I'm sorry I do believe my account was hacked..

  • Phillip Bird

Pay to fish, not conducive for good rving, way to much noise. And to expensive. Gave us a big Hassel over paying 5 dollars for showers after paying a monthly rate of 650 for just a 2 weeks stay. Hated it!

Southport road is noisy and busy but all in all this is a plesant campground. And they do have a pay lake and it appears a swimming area also...as it is winter now I don't know for sure...I would recommend it for a night or a month...owner is an ex cop and is very nice and accommodating. ..

  • richard humphers

Would only stay here if nothing else was available, spaces way too close to each other, saw a boat & trailer right next to its neighbors picnic table, wow, they also charge $28.00 per day to fish for only catfish & carp, lol!!! Save yourself a trip and find a much better rv park!!!

  • K Beau

We lived in an RV here for a few months when we traveled for work. We loved it, it's peaceful, the lakes are nice to walk around, the owners and staff are friendly, helpful and professional. It was very affordable too. I would call here first if you need a place to park your RV.

  • Michael Gillium

I can't say much for pricing, but I've been here plenty of times and it's always been very nice! It's quiet, but with just enough activity to not be dead. They've got stocked lakes and lots you could rent year round! Very nice establishment, I'd recommend it!

  • Cathy Van Horn

Would not stay again. No pull thrus and back ins not very convenient, even for my experienced semi driving husband.. Darling puppy next door, but yipped just a little too much. $5.00 for a shower, during office hours only. $5.00 to fish even for campers.

  • Christine Schoell

It was a nice place, we stayed here overnight after seeing Wicked in Indiannapolis. The pitfall was because the camping was right next to a fishing lake, like actually along the lake, there were a lot of ducks and geese which was noisy in the morning.

  • Curtis Kinnett

Wish you would open up for nights on weekends so the other half of your business could fish. Lots of us only night fish! You have always been open at the end of march or beginin of april best catfishin months. Not fair to your loyal night fisherman!

  • Dylan Buchanan

By far one the best pay lakes I have ever fished at, very clean and very well stock with fish. Would highly recommend Indy Lakes! Also best bait shop and staff in Indiana if you ask me!

People are really nice and tent camping is only 10$ a night 5$ to take a shower and 3.50$ to do laundry best fishing in Indiana and you can fish 24 hours 7 days a week I think rv spots are around 36$ a night subscribe to my YouTube channel please

  • David McComb

Great place to stay either on a short or long term basis. The staff is incredible. Linda, the Manager, is a sweetheart! Mark and there's another woman (name unknown, sorry) both are very friendly and a joy to work with. wonderful to deal with.

  • Jenn Gadsden

I'll give em 2 stars just because of all the fishing equipment and other doo dads they sell but 15$ a person fishing fee to fish in a pond is OUTRAGEOUS!!! What are they stocking in there? The Loch Ness?!?? They do have a pay phone though...

  • Lloyd Walker

The sites are gravel, very level, and many are shaded by mature trees. It's a fishing lake so I was worried the people fishing might be noisy, but that was not the case at all. There aren't a lot of amenities, but the camp store is open

  • Michael “Beastmode” Monroe

Been here alot never caught a thing. Never seen someone catch anything staff is under par on all aspects only care to take your money plus needles in the water and i had my 5year old with me. They seemed to think it was normal.

  • Dee Vee

It's safe and clean a good place to rv camp. Great fishing. Only thing if you don't fish there's nothing else to do. Linda and Marc are knowledgeable and will help with whatever you need. Fyi...it is on a busy street.

  • Slim Pickin’s Off Road Adventures

We loved it. Wonderful staff very helpful. Spent good part of 8 months right there. Seen some remarkable sunrise and sets. Bunch of fishing goes on here if that’s your thing. I will return for another visit one day.

I don't ever catch anything in their lakes. I only buy bait and if I pay the money that I have in the past to fish I get highly disappointed and tell myself I should of stuck with the river where I always do good!

  • Yes please

This place stays full year round. If you are looking to bring your rv here you won't likely be accommodated. Seems to be a trend around Indianapolis. At this rate you aren't a campground you are a trailer park.

  • Steven Ullery

I love the place. The owners and staff are all very friendly. I just wish there was a discounted rate for people staying long-term. It is very quiet and usually secure when the front gates are working.

  • Julie Ann Herndon Demaree

Love it here during the wintertime to camp. It is very quite. Also very nice lot sizes for your trailer. Love the lake to look at. I guess during the summer a very popular and very busy fishing spot.

If you are looking to pay to fish, it's ok with LOT'S of rules. If you want to camp? Look somewhere else. Not maintained very well. Lots of trash laying around. BTW: Not pet friendly!

  • Eric Stone

Too expensive/ all ways over crowded to Many dumb rules takes the fun out of your fishing trip they put a line across the lake to restrict your ability to cast out far

  • driskill b

We travel for work and when we are here we absolutely love staying in the cabin or the lakehouse. Billy and his staff are fantastic!!! Highly recommend Indy lakes !!

Very clean and quiet. Only downside is it is right next to a processing plant and the smell can get a little strong, but with the air on, it is perfect.

Pretty good place to go, but it's a little pricey if you're bringing the family. Per person it's 6 hours for $20 or 12 hours for $25.

Its was ok. Probably better for just fishing or camping in an RV. No good spaces for tent camping. Really clean bathrooms though!
