"Very UNpleasure visiting/refund experience"
"I love this place, its so much more than just a Gym"
"I have been a member of Invictus 5 gym for 5 years now"
"Great gym, awesome people, highly recommend"
"I booked a tour and consultation via the website"
Very UNpleasure visiting/refund experience. - just to be fair, my case isn't about their PT, program or facilities. (I guess the program and trainers are great...) Long story short resume: Eventually they took 50$ (which was the halves from 97$) for my visiting: "administrative fee for a new applicant" when I just canceled to join the gym (within 24 hours, actually about 12 hours) because my flight schedule was changed. And to have my "halves" refund took nearly 2 months including several conversations. : My bank noticed me that I was taken 97$ so I asked the staff about this payment. And it was "administrative fee (97$)" for a new member. I canceled the membership just after the visiting day (withing 24 hours, actually in 12 hours). I even didn't get the key because I visited in the late afternoon so I was going to start in the next day (I don’t even know how it looks), I didn't use any facilities. I just visited and asked price and signed the membership. It was just 10 min visit, rushing process (guess he was busy, other new people were there too). My purpose was to ask and get information before starting but anyway I ended up signing the paper (which I consider that was my only mistake) furthermore, I didn't get any copies of the signed paper. I would understand if it was 10$ or 20$... to put my name in the system. So when I discover that I was charged I msged the gym and they said he will refund me "halves (47$)", I said OK. even I wasn't happy and felt unfair with the price. I sent my bank info. as requested in the day of the conversation. It supposed to happen in the same week we had the conversation (as they said). I waited 3 more weeks after the conversation and emailed again. They said they will refund me in the next billing cycle. Again, It didn't happen. It was already more than UNpleasure to request my refund more than 3 times. And more, when they would refund me only "halves" of the fee. Anyway It's done now but just want to let people know to be prepared to pay 50% of asking fee if you are not sure to start. I regret to write a review like this but this was one of worst experience I've got. It would be OK if I got my halves refund just in the same promised time. When it became 2nd, 3rd email, I started feeling very unfair. Hope it helps some cases.
I love this place, its so much more than just a Gym. In fact, whilst the equipment and facilities is about proper functional training (just just getting your pulse up a few times a week or taking gym selfies), its not about that. Its not even that I can access equipment when I need to instead of waiting around, because they deliberately keep the membership numbers capped. What makes this place for me is Daniel (the gear with the long beard - a gentle giant when you meet him), Katie, Poppy and 'the Lukes'. These guys are actually engaged in seeing my personal fitness journey progress in the right direction, whilst not expecting me to live on boiled chicken and Broccoli. To me, 'i5' - as its become known within the community of members, is a system for life improvement, and it just happens to have a bunch of great gym equipment and facilities included. There should be more i5's around Aus! :)
I have been a member of Invictus 5 gym for 5 years now. It is not all pretty and shiny like some gyms are and I like that about it. I love that it has that working class feel where you go to work out but is it is not all about the workout, although it can be if you want it to be. Other members are always friendly and happy to say hi. It has a community feel to it. Dan and his team always make you feel welcome - they make you feel like it is your gym rather than theirs. They are happy to answer any questions and provide tips for getting the most out of your training whatever it may be that you want. Dan always states that he does weights not waits and he is right. I very rarely have to wait to use any of the equipment I want. If you are looking for gym that is all about you, you will find it here.
Great gym, awesome people, highly recommend. It's 50 for me this year (holy shi!), and before we (my wife and I) started at 'Invictus 5' I was really feeling my age (and some), you know, aches, pains, stiffness restricted movement. Well we've been seeing Daniel (PT session twice a week) and Luke (mobility session once a week) for roughly 3 months now, and honestly I feel 10-15 years younger, all those aches, pains and stiffness are gone. Yeah, it's hard work, but it's well worth it, and you feel (and see) incremental results along the way that keep you motivated. I would definitely suggest to anyone not wanting to feel their age go and see the guys at Invictus 5, you will not regret it. Going on near 2 years now, still enjoying it, great gym, best decision we made from a health perspective.
I booked a tour and consultation via the website. The staff member that showed me around was helpful. He showed me around the small area and although the equipment and facility looked quite tired, dated and cramped, his push on the community aspect felt well suited. He took me through membership details which included fair scaling prices depending on your required access to the facility. There is a substantial joining fee which I found difficult to swallow. I asked if I could try the facilities out that afternoon for a session and was advised by a separate staff member that the gym didn't offer that opportunity. I felt that was odd given the upfront fee and "community" brand positioning. I moved to the next gym on that street and signed up that afternoon.
Great support from Daniel and trainers at Invictus 5 where you feel like you are receiving one on one support even in the group sessions. The acceptance of being a member who is taking a more restorative approach to strength training and fitness has made me feel comfortable and confident I'm receiving the best possible support, even when training alongside some of the strongest people I’ve even met! The guidance in learning how to work with my body's new capabilities has allowed me to progress further than I have for over two years. Daniel has extensive knowledge, skills and insights in treating and healing the body holistically inside and out. I highly recommend Invictus 5 for people of all levels of fitness if you are serious about achieving your goals.
I could review this gym all day They have substituted judgement with encouragement and recognize that true strength lies isn’t how much you can lift, truestrength comes from knowledge, and the only person you have to impress is yourself It just refreshing to be amongst people that genuinely want you to be your best it’s a different playing field at this gym egos must be left at the door everyone works hard and they smile whilst they do it there’s the secret they do what they do because they enjoy it so if you want to enjoy working hard then you need to join the gym that will get you there hopefully I will see you there
I have been coming here for over 6 months now and absolutely love it. The coaching team are down to earth and are always available to help no matter what age, mobility requirements or level of fitness you are at. Never had to wait for a machine as numbers are capped at 300. Invictus 5 is COVID19 conscious and has adapted to ensure social distancing and hygiene requirements. There is no egotistical "gym bro" culture here, everyone is here to support each other and has a very strong community vibe.
Best gym in Brisbane! You instantly feel comfortable walking into Invictus, no judgement from staff or other members. Being a small gym that caps their numbers, there is always a station and equipment available which isn’t always the case at other gyms. I’ve been at Invictus for years so have done 1 on 1 PT and group classes. Their trainers are awesome, always making sessions fun and motivating. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Joined about 6 months ago... amazing results. So much fun and the amount of Knowledge given about our bodies and how they work is outstanding, even great advise and guidance on nutrition. The owner/trainer Daniel is fantastic. He has made Group training classes so much fun while keeping us all working hard to our full potential... I’ve lost 10 kgs and feel amazing. Won’t be getting ride of me any time soon
Absolutely wonderful gym. Has all the equipment you need and more (plus a 15kg women's olympic weightlifting bar, which not all gyms have!). The gym has a really great 'no nonsense' feel and doesn't have any of the intimidation some other commercial gyms have (like walking into a room full of gym bros grunting doing bicep curls, no thanks). Highly recommend.
You will not find better staff, services or overall gym anywhere else in Brisbane! Invictus 5's wholistic approach to health & fitness is an incredibly refreshing change to the gym's where you are just a number. All of the staff at Invictus 5 know you by name, know your goals and are their to facilitate your journey every step of the way.
I would highly recommend this gym to anyone! Fantastic atmosphere with a real sense of community, something which is hard to find in a gym these days. All the staff are friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and make you feel welcome. Training here has boosted my motivation to get fit and live a healthier lifestyle.
I have been training at Invictus 5 for the past 4 months. If you are looking for a facility that not only spots your deadlift or squats but are looking for a community based feel this is absolutely for you. Even better, their trainers will make you feel at home!
Highly recommend! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible to tailor your experience to your exact needs. The gym has an awesome setup and provides a real community vibe without being overly crowded. Can’t wait for the next session!
Several months in, and never crowded. Also, the staff are wonderful, friendly & extremely supportive. Fave part is after-workout having a green tea & an infrared sauna in this awesome little private zen area out back. Bloody ZensationaL.
How impressive are these guys! Daniel Lyttle, Luke and Luke - I love your approach - health and fitness for the body and the soul and you cater for everyone... this family will be there again soon. Coorparoo is lucky to have you
Great black iron/crossfit-stocked gym. Lots of space, huge amount of free-weights and cable machines, cheap and Daniel the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Great place, will be going here as long as I live in the area.
Just started at this gym, it is by far the best gym i have ever been too, great equipment but best of all the owner is fantastic, down to earth and promotes a really positive atmosphere in the gym!
Such a great gym. Well looked after and the equipment was always kept in tip top shape. Would recommend to anyone in Coorparoo looking for a nice friendly atmosphere to work out in.
Very happy with the gym and with Daniel who runs it. I'm no expert but he seems to have all the gear and can give as much support as you want. I like that it is open 24/7.
Above and beyond. The staff at Invictus5 is welcoming and highly supportive, ready to help you achieve your goals. Really sets them apart from other establishments.
Has everything that you could want from a gym, cheap,24/7 and it's never too packed. Dan is friendly and there is always sanitiser stuff around for the equipment.
Such a great team at Invictus 5, the gym has everything you need, it's big with heaps of options, yet it's still got a friendly, welcoming feel about it.
If you’re looking for an old school style gym with very supportive staff who are always happy to chat and say Hi to you, this is the gym for you.
Horrible when it comes to stopping the payments, true colours get shown at that point which taints the entire experience.
Great gym for getting stuff done. Not like the franchise gyms where all people do is take selfies and use the treadmill.
Great atmosphere here - a real Gym! Daniel and the team are helpful and professional. Best thing to move into Coorparoo
Positive interactions with staff and is always open. Only busy at peak times. Would have continued if I didnt move.
Great gym if you want to lift or train, but less so for anyone who just wants to run on a treadmill.
Best gym in Brisbane by far! Amazing staff that are always happy to facilitate your goals and needs!
Love the old school vibes, plenty of weights and racks . Highly recommend trying it out.
A caring gym, I would suggest this gym to anyone seeking to relieve a clogged mind..
Great Gym, would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get into training.
Customer service is shocking bad when it comes with refunding
Great gym, great staff, great place, 100% go there!
