Went to iron chef for lunch twice during the 50% promotion. The first time, there were a full cart but still limited in choices as you would expect from a typical weekend yum cha range. If you come after 1pm on a week day expect even less choices or none at all. It appears they only prepare a certain amount each day. I kept an eye on the how the 3 old ladies were charging the table. The bill was exhorbant but the 50% off was more palatable considering there weren't many choices. The 3 old ladies as aunties as some referred to in the other reviews display professional selective hearing and pretend to hear you but deep down they just ignore your requests. On this day, Service was abit chaotic with lots of people running around for a half empty restaurant. The woman calculating the final bill has a big mouth and equally a bad attitude. On my second dining yum cha, I came in at 2pm. I asked for some dipping sauce (soy sauce or chilli, it didn't matter to me, so long I had some) to 3 different old ladies, they all nod their heads to get some. 15 mins later nothing arrived. By this time I asked 1 of the lady to see the cart, they were nearly empty with just buns, some chives hargow, prawn hargow and pork dim sim and the platter of rice rolls with prawns. There wasnt much so I had the last tripe basket. Feeling hungry I gave the chives and prawn hargow a go, abit dry as it late in day but eatable. I asked 1 of the old lady whether there were anything else to eat, in particular I asked for chicken feet and tendons. She said she'll check the kitchen and return saying there is none left. I accepted it and try to eat the 4 basket I ordered. The sauce by now still hasn't arrive until I ask the man (appears to be a senior member) for some dipping sauce. He miraculously delivered. Around 2 30pm another (Asian) gentleman rocked in and he too appears disappointed as there wasn't much to eat but he appear at least more Asian than me so One of the old lady quickly came out and ask what he wanted, he told her chicken feet and tripe. This gentleman sat right behind me and the old lady oddly asked me what I wanted to order, I told her chicken feet and tendons. Long Story short, the gentleman behind me got his chicken feet and tripe cooked fresh in the kitchen and delivered to him while I was ignored and my order never arrived. As I haven't finished my bill was hastily calculated and I was told to pay up. This is a passive message by the old lady to leave. I paid up and left while the gentleman that came after me got his order which I was originally told, the kitchen is not cooking any more for the day. I never had my last 2 orders, service was atrocious by those 3 clumsy old lady. On the bill, the same 2 hargows I ordered a week ago was marked "large" which should be $10.80 each but on this occasion, the lady marked "special" which pushed my final bill for 4 basket of yum cha to $54.10. This alone is blatant rip off if wasnt for the 50% promotion. Overall, my experience in the second sitting showed their service by the 3 old ladies are rude, disrespectful and ignorant. Their billing is doubtful and dishonest and overpriced for very little menu. I won't be coming back with this terrible experience.

Everything tasted overly sweeter than other places, food was fresh and looked good, but the sweetness level was off the charts. Also doesn't open until 10am, which is too late for a yum cha joint. We got there right on open, and the place was empty. Staff hovered around staring at us eating too close for comfort for way too long, just felt intrusive. Perhaps they don't get many customers? Add that to the waiter clearing his nose and throat the whole time 2 metres from our table which really put us off. There is far better yum cha around, not sure how long this place will be around for. Parking is a hassle also.

Parking
Horrible parking on a busy road.
Poor service by the greeter, who acknowledged we had a toddler yet failed to organise a booster seat. We had to flag another staff member down who gave us a booster seat with one strap missing. Went to grab another, and 2 of the 3 booster seats also had straps missing. Very dirty, like they have never wiped down and given the booster seats a good clean before. Vegetables had a caterpillar cooked in with the dish. Staff were not apologetic but they did offer to replace the dish. Half hour later the dish came back and by that time we had finished our meals. Packed it away for dinner the next night and a smaller caterpillar was found. Poor service, dirty establishment, dirty food.

First time coming here as they were celebrating their birthday and offering 50% off all seafood. Restaurant was super busy during our dinner and overall I thought the food was quite delicious. For dishes, we ordered the lobster as our main + salted fish fried rice + pipis + salt and pepper squid (photos all below). However, the only reason for the low rating was the service. The main receptionist at the front needs an attitude adjustment and we were literally yelled at to come to our table. Can’t imagine how yelling at your customers would ever be warranted… Overall 6.5/10 but due to the fact that I negated 2 points for the awful service.

Just wanted to let people know about Iron Chef restaurant in Bonnyrigg. They are currently running a 50% for yum cha promotion. Went there for lunch today. They did not honour the deal as advertised. When I brought up the FB post, the manager simply said to me "you're Aussie, you should know", not sure what he is trying to imply here? There was no mention online or at the venue that the promotion wouldn't apply on public holidays. I feel that this is pretty dodgy because they lure you in with the promo and they don't tell you that it doesn't until it comes time to pay at the end.

First of all at the reception the lady doesn’t speak English very well and people lining up to check their booking for 15-25 min waiting. At the table no one comes to take your order and very difficult to explain as very minimal English speaking waitress. Waited 45 minutes for someone to take our orders. It’s just the name Iron Chef the service is not per standard. Drinks served with no glass even for alcohol just served in bottle and glass only given when requested. Never going to go or recommend to go and dine in.

Authentic Chinese restaurant right across from Bonnyrigg Plaza so plenty of parking! The food and service was excellent. Our favourites were the Peking Duck and Pipi's in XO sauce with crispy noodles. The robot server was entertaining at first but after a few rounds the tune it was playing at full blast was a little annoying. We will return though!

There are six other yumcha restaurants within a 15km radius you should go to instead of this one. - Minimal food options available - Service non-existent - Staff refused to wheel trolleys around - Requests ignored by staff The above issues were consistent across two visits. There’s no way this place survives another year. With so many yumcha places available, you cannot possibly justify this way below average food/service. Spend your money elsewhere. You’re welcome.
Always loved the OG Iron Chef and this place lived up to our expectations. Since it's still a fairly new restaurant, it wasn't too busy which meant we didn't have to wait long for all of our fav dishes. Staff were also nice, with a familiar friendly face within the staff who we usually see at the Cabra restaurant. Parking is also easier here. Would come again

First time I went here for Yum Cha during the week and it was amazing. I found the food was fresh and not oily like other places. The The Manager was so friendly and helped us with questions about the menu. The staff were friendly and helpful especially opening the door given my mum was in a wheelchair.

The food is great! They looked slightly understaffed at the moment so we had to call for menues and to order, they gave me a glass that was cracked too but part from that the food was really tasty and generous, loved the Szechuan chicken and the salty egg prawns, i recommend to book as it got busy really quick, overall ok experience
Pretty good food with friendly staff. Good for events as it is spacious and plenty of tables. Parking is pretty easy as well since the plaza is just across. There's also a robot machine thing here too!

We had the 50% off promotion last week, and we enjoyed it. We had to think a lot about service before going from reviewing the reviews. We decide nvm, we'll just go for food. But when arrived, it's totally okay and acceptable service from aunties (we don't have communication problems despite we only speak English). More
This place is a rip off. The food is so bland and it tastes mid. Also the service the people were yelling at us. For 14 people it costs 400 bucks. Don’t eat here. The price doesn’t match the quality of the food. Also u don’t know how much each dish costs

Hey there! You've got to check out this amazing Cantonese spot I found in Western Sydney, right in Bonnyrigg. It's seriously the best place for Chinese seafood around here. The Yum Cha? Absolutely top-notch. They've got this huge variety of
The food was nice enough, but the service was terrible. They were too busy, everything things we wanted took ages, order took very long to be placed, we were rushed, the whole staff didn't action what we needed in a timely manner or totally
Came here with my family for dinner on a weekend. I suggest going elsewhere as their service is terrible and disrespectful. My mum wanted to ask staff for something (they were missing something from our dish) but they seem understaffed so
No structure in this organisation, we waited for more then 20 minutes and they have not got a table for 2, they kept letting 4 or 5 people in, no checking if who were there first to give them a table, bad services, dont go here, plenty of
Went for a birthday dinner and the service was absolutely amazing. The food was at least 4 stars for me because there were some dishes that were either too sweet or just not my liking. I will say I loved their abalone and lobster noodles
They're running a 50% off promo for yumcha, but their prices are so jacked up. Not sure how what we ordered would have been worth $96.60 normally, unethical business. Place may be understaffed because usually at yumcha places there is a
compared to other yum cha joints, ‘iron chef’ in bonnyrigg wouldn’t be my top pick. the restaurant itself is quite lovely and clean however, the food here was average and the servers weren’t very friendly at all. More
Food is okay, nothing special. Definitely overpriced for what it is. We went during a 50% promotion and it was still very pricey. Will definitely stick to Cabramatta. Place is disorganised.
1 star still be too much for this place. I visited here and wanted to give it a try because my friends and family were saying good things about the food. So i went here on ANZAC day.
The best food and service the love star the seafood. I recommend this restaurant to anybody to come and have their first dinner, lunch or breakfast specially Chai, the lobster More
