Decided to go here because it was directly across the street from my hotel and I wasn't familiar with the area. I walked in and proceeded to the wine section when the clerk approached me. He began shouting "GET OUT! YOU! LEAVE! NOW! WET FLOOR! GET OUT OF MY STORE!". I was really confused at first, I understood why he didn't want me in the store (though the floor wasn't really wet anymore), but his reaction felt over the top. I didn't even get a chance to get a word in before he kicked me out. I went to dinner and returned afterwards. I wanted to go to a different place, but the next closest place I found smelled like urine and had a bunch of people loitering out front. I slowly walked back into the store with my hands up, mostly just to be a smart ass. The clerk apologized to me. He explained someone came in and slipped once so now he doesn't allow people inside after he mops as a precaution. Though my first encounter was pretty awful, his apology was sincere. I really don't think he realized the way he was coming off at the time. He seems like a genuinely nice person, but perhaps a bit lacking in social skills. Beer prices weren't that bad (ranging from $6-$11), and they have a decent selection of snacks. I would have rated it higher if I hadn't been yelled at, though I gave it 3 stars instead of 2 since he gave a sincere apology. Just..... Don't go in when he mops.

Listen, this is important. This place has top shelf Japanese whiskey and pretty good sake. Also, they share the space with a skin care shop that carries top notch Korean products. Don't listen to the cretins complaining about some out of order ATM. If you can get good booze and face masks made with gold infused horse fat and snail proteins IN THE SAME PLACE, who cares about a broken ATM?? This place is the most magical corner store I've ever been to. They were playing TLC's Waterfalls last time I was there, too. TRIFECTA.

They ripped me off about $15!!! I bought one thing that was $20 + one thing that was $2 and they added it up to $40 When I asked for my receipt the girl acted confused and dumb and said I said no when she asked before which is not true I said YES PLEASE. Avoid this scam artist place!!!!! And to the employees- screw You :)

Pay in cash so as not to incur credit card fees for a small business, even if it does happen to be a fake Korean-run market in Japantown. Outstretch hand patiently for change. Cashier goes out of his way to avoid hand and dumps change in pile on counter. Ouch. Yup, I know I'm overly sensitive. It's the little things though.

A small family grocery with an eclectic and transient selection of goods. Something you find one time may not be there the next.
