Easy to get in and out but staff was slow and reluctant to help us and other families that had a lot of luggage to carry. The attitude seemed to be if you're not disabled, carry it yourself. Don't get me wrong, my wife are in our 30/40s and in good shape, but carrying the bulk of our luggage plus our 4-year old son's was a grin and bear it start to our vacation. It would be one thing to see them busting their chops for others but they weren't. Maybe people don't tip well enough but I had a 20 in my pocket ready for a friendly person to drive or cart our luggage 50 extra feet through the parking lot. Once everyone carried their luggage through the parking lot, the men were waiting and demanded a tip from The family ahead of us. They rightfully called the man out, but me, thinking I'd rather write this review than have my luggage mishandled, gave the man 10 bucks (could have been a 20) and kept walking. On the greatful side, none of our luggage got left or lost. I didn't hear about any others who lost their luggage as well. Just be nice and work hard and you'll make more in tips because people see you real quick!
My husband and I just got off the Carnival ship Elation. The trip was great, UNTIL we disembarked, then when we encountered the jaxport employees, it was TERRIBLE !!!! EVERY person should be put in a class for manners and patience. I realize that people also need a course in patience and manners, but the way we were treated just now, was UNEXCEPTIBLE! The shouting, and hearing of people like cattle was an experience I will never forget. There was a older woman in the parking lot that needs to find a different job. Obviously, she is not a people person. What has happened to our society ? Have we become a society of intolerant, rude people? All we were trying to do was meet our UBER, after a long disembarking experience. To be met with the most horrible people I have had to deal with EVER!! We will never use this cruise from Jax because of the port experience.
Easy to navigate to with no issues, once you're at the gate have your money ready the line goes fast, $75 for 5 days... Found parking and rolled up to the check in point, arrive early to get a close parking spot. The staff will be out to assist with your luggage, have tip $$$ ready because they'll be looking at you some kind of way, for all of us we tipped once however they looked like they wanted a tip from each of us, which we tip $5 bucks for 3 bags and we still were given the looks... so be aware. Only 1 small bathroom on the outside, no open drinks once you pass through security gates. Have all forms in hand ready. Once you enter inside then the maze line begins...which it does move fairly quickly.
Jacksonville is an okay place to go. Swampy and hot but there's a lot to do in the area while you're waiting. The staff was friendly and helpful but they all seemed a little tired. We showed up pretty early and they made us turn around and wait until closer to our boarding time so that was real. There was a massive amount of people and only a one person bathroom so that seems silly. Even with theassive amounts of people they were able to keep the lines moving. It was march when I went so it wasn't too hot yet.
The worst cruise terminal port in all of Florida. We were held on the boat because there were not enough customs agents for an additional 4 hours. It was around noon when we finally were let off the ship we were told that there were only 2 agents working that morning and then they finally got more people to work later that day but meanwhile no one could get off the Carnival ship until we were cleared to leave. It's a terrible terminal and when you have choices why put yourself through all that headache?
Not the friendliest place... when you're exiting the country, a "smile" would be nice (lots of grumpy seniors running this place... y'all need to smile!). Also, the flow going out as well as returning seemed a bit slow and tedious... I understand security, but it was very time consuming... even the Atlanta Airport is not as slow as this place. But, if you're traveling on Carnival out of Jacksonville, FL, you have no choice but to come through this port. Be prepared to STAND and WAIT!!
Easy in and easy out for the cruise we took. The staff was all super friendly and very efficient. There were long lines as to be expected however that being said things moved along at a surprising rate. We might have waited 15 minutes for the entire process from check-in, dropping off our bags, and getting through security. Altogether it was a pleasant experience. The staff there is largely made up of a bunch of retiree's who are all very helpful and in great spirits.
Very inconsistent. Allowed us to arrive by Uber, but refused to let our Uber enter to pick us up. Also refused to allow us to leave by foot, or to even meet the Uber at the front security gate. We live in an area that doesn't have a shuttle nearby, and traditional taxis are too expensive due to the distance. If we knew Ubers weren't allowed (despite the fact that we arrived in one) we could have arranged transportation ahead of time!
Get here in time to avoid standing in lines to check in and having to park far away just to walk to the terminal. Ample parking which by the way is way overpriced, even the airport charges a third of the rate. Still a clean place with signs well displayed to help guide vacationers into the cruise ship. With the faster to the fun pass you will breeze past the long lines and get your luggage in time too.
Worst experience EVER! Very very rude employees at the terminal. They treat you less than human. I was yelled at 3 times, 2 times boarding 1 time departing and I stood up good myself that time. I had enough by then. The terminal and the Carnival Elation were both horrible for the same reasons. Never use this terminal or ship. Our family and friends that went with us will never use them again.
4 stars for the there staff/1 star for those sneaky under cover prices to clean rooms picture taken really the checkout a half a star double whammy they can do much better on the last day going home stuck on a hot floor for 2 whole hours a smoking floor casino food was okay but stingy with breakfast bacon my first and last sail did i mention 400 degrees of hot torture weather freeport free me
Paying extra for priority boarding & vip status was so worth it. Smaller lines and shorter wait times were just a couple of the features that benefited us. Because we have priority status, we got to wait in a smaller waiting area and registered within minutes of our arrival. I noticed that this port was far less crowded than the other ports in Florida, which is a plus to me.
Our 7 year anniversary but first cruise. It was a wonderful experience. Mostly everyone greeted you by name. Those who didn't know you were eager to help. I never felt like a stranger umonst anyone. Everyone was enjoying themselves and having a great time. And I enjoyed being around such happy people. Even the staff danced for us, lol. How amazing was that.
Left 1 star cause I just need to ask a question. HELP!!! Leaving for cruise in 21 days. Never sailed out of Jacksonville before. Is the cruise terminal at Jaxport or do you have to park @ Jaxport & take a shuttle to the cruise terminal? That’s what I’m gathering from the reading. Meaning paying daily car rental fees & shuttle fees to & from the terminal.
We love Carnival but Jacksonville Cruise Termial really needs to clarify when people are allowed to park and not make the turn around And go find someplace to wait 40 minutes to just get in to park .We have been cruising with Carnival and this is our last with this port .Thank you Port officials for starting our vacation in such a negative effect on us
The people are friendly enough, but there aren't enough seats and everything seems chaotic and inefficient. Only found one bathroom- opposite from where we were waiting. We were there early and waited am hour past what we were told. My sister waited nearly 3 hours from when she was supposed to be on ship, and there is nothing to eat or keep kids busy.
Quick service in and out of the port. Clean. The customer service associates were very pleasant (carnival) and polite. I would definitely sail from here again. On a side note, Wally park was horrible. We waited and waited for the bus back to the lot. We learned our lesson- next time, park at the port, spent the extra few bucks. It will be worth it.
Located in the modern Jaxport shipping ports. No immediate amenities out side of the actual Carnaval facility. A few hotels at the I-295 interchange and across the Dames Point bridge. Easy access to/from I-95 and Jacksonville Airport. Beaches, Jacksonville and other places of interest an easy car drive away.
I went here to go on a cruise and it was probably one of the best experiences of my life and everybody there was nice and I have probably never had more fun in 1 week than I did here if you are going on a cruise then I would personally recommend this terminal go here if you want a life changing experience.
We arrived here for our first cruise. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. They didn't seem to mind we didn't know what to do or where to go. They guided us through and actually very quickly compared to many of the people. I would and have recommended friends to go there for cruise ship take off.
I disliked this place a LOT!!! the standing in heat for who knows how long and not enough fans to keep one cool in muggy weather as we checked out. What on earth. People in there were sweating like they stole something I know they can chip in for a few more fans it was like UNREAL …
I really like this port. It is very easy to access. All the staff are very friendly and ready to help you. I paid 85.00 to park for a 5 day cruise. I wish the parking was a little cheaper, but the convince of being so close to the ship and the gated security is worth the extra cost.
Nice staff besides the primates working in the parking that yell at you for walking on the wrong part of the road. Due to being humiliated by your gate watchers and yelled at after i had just spent a 5 day cruise at sea out of your port. I will never make it back to this area again.
The run down businesses located at the entrance to the port gave us pause about the security and safety of our parked vehicle, but everything was fine once we passed through that area. The port is adequately secured inside and our vehicle was fine when we returned from our trip.
Be prepared to wait in long lines during travel seasons, I suggest that you carry light, use tsa precheck, bring luggage that has wheels, and have all qualifying documents such as covid cards, passports and birth certificates ready. Please be patient with slow movers as well.
So rude!!!! Very hot !!! Took for ever to get on the ship ... Not people friendly .. and you better be up for a good walk and wait- walk- dont stop - and a lot of No you cant do that and i cant help that - and dont have no health issues - you will never make it in one peace -
May be OK for passengers checking in but for visiting cruise ships all can be said is friendly security guards and good restrooms. Jacksonville is so spread out that wheels are a must and there is no public transport from the port apart from expensive (due to distance) taxis
Garbage. No Uber drivers aloud due to the stupid ass politics of taxi companies paying a fee to be able to service this port. If you're unaware of this, you're in for a huge headache after a nice cruise. Never again will I deal with this BS at Jaxport. #moneyhungrypolitics
Horrible Horrible set up.. we will NEVER schedule a cruise out of this port again. Too small to accommodate so many people.. The disembarking was torture.. line after line after line in 90° weather at least... Makes for a miserable ending to a nice vacation....
they are making me go on a friday crouse with my hole family .they will not refund or change it even when there is a category 4 hurricane hitting . hope this hart less rich people know what they are doing with all these hard working people lives at stack .
We've cruised a lot. This is by far the friendliest staff we have encountered. We felt welcomed, knew exactly where to park and where to go. Up in our return, we were met with welcome backs and our porter took us all the way to our truck. Very impressed.
Easy to get to. Parking was plentiful and fast. We had priority check in so it was a breeze. By far one of the best cruise check in experiences we have been through. Indo have to say that the lines were long for those who didn't have priority check in.
We have cruised from several cruise terminals and Jaxport is by far our favorite! Parking is so easy and the porters come to your car and pick up your bags. The check-in process is quick and easy, and the employees are always courteous and helpful!
Pay the extra for the peace of mind that your vehicle is safe and secure while on your cruise. Do not trust the outside companies that offer parking off site for you will find it's not as secure as you thought. Park at the actual cruise terminal.
Super easy port to get in and out of. But it is extremely hot getting on and off of the ship. They only had a few fans working. Felt like cattle being herded. Took hours waiting in line to go through customs in the heat just to get to the car..
This terminal is small and the process for coming back into the country from a cruise is relatively painless. You're escorted off the ship in groups and there are people who are available to help those who may need it. Constant movement and
Easy to find and navigate but at a high price. The price is a bit disappointing though. It's only a matter of time before cruise ships won't be able to come through here. We spoke to the captain and apparently the ship I was on Carnival
Very easy to park and security is very tight. Boarding ship from terminal was super easy and fast. All the employees were very nice. I would definitely board a cruise out of this port again due to how convenient and easy it is to find.
The cruise was disappointing, some of the staff were rude & made you feel as though you were bothering them. The ports of call were just as disappointing. I would suggest picking another Cruise Line or another location to leave from.
Very well organized embarking and disembarking processes. Luggage handled with reasonable care. Porters are professional and willing to help and work with you. This is my 3rd Florida Port. JaxPort gets 5 of 5. (Duuu VaaaLLL!!!)
We were left standing outside for an hour without being told why. After that we were corraled like cattle in a hot room for an additional half hour, before waiting more time to get our ship card. No communication or water.
I loved cruising out of Jaxport. The staff there were awesome. They get you in and out quickly and safely on your cruise ship. I also like this port because it goes to the Bahamas and you can avoid all the crowds.
Definitely one of the smallest terminals I've came across. There are trendy and fast with getting things done. But it is not one of the greatest that I've seen being that I've had a chance to see many of them.
Very odorous due to nearby industrial and container shipping. Very difficult to get Uber or Lyft as there is an additional fee to access passenger pickup area and drivers want extra fees beyond quoted price.
Hmmm, not my favorite port. Very difficult to disembark, although I hear they're working on correcting that. Don't plan on rideshare from this terminal. I'll stay away until they bring this place up to par.
They have a no nonsense approach to getting people through customs quickly. Have your papers and identification documents ready in hand until your told to put them away, and everything will move smoothly.
They certainly have this down to a science. The porters were great, the golf cart drivers were not so great...felt comfortable leaving my car for the duration of my cruise. Worth the money in my opinion..
People are assertive but nice, they have to keep things moving and make sure everyone knows what to do. Make sure you have all your stuff ready and things will go quickly and you won't have any problems.
Very easy to take taxi from terminal to Jax Airport . Taxi drive Jay was very nice and funny. Provide us all information and jocks a lot during 20 minutes drive to Airport. Cost you Around 8$ per/person.
Worst experience ever for the cruise terminal and the Carnival Elation. Will never use them again. My wife spent most of the vacation in tears because of the way she was treated by staff at both places.
Great location close to the highway and not far from the interstate access. It is located in Jacksonville Fla. There are many different types of stores and businesses located in and around the area.
We left out of here on the Carnival Elation and had a great experience. Parking was super easy, boarding and deboarding was quick and painless. Great staff, well run port. No issues at all.
You can not call anyone and talk to . I have been trying to get in touch with someone about cancelling my reservation since 8-30-2019. But No luck ,I have left message to go me but no luck.
Day visit with a Cruise Ship. Starboard side alongside. Good solid pier. Pier is a bit remote and far from the city. Need to take a shuttle bus or taxi to reach the city. All in all good.
Very quick, easy check in progress, pleasant staff from curbside to boarding ship. Very organized check-out, customs was fairly quick. Wouldn't hesitate to cruise from here in the future.
Cruised out of several ports, ship was great but this was the worst port. Most of the workers seemed to be on a power trip. Even had one guy yelling at folks with a sandwich in his hand.
This port was very helpful and simple to understand and not confusing like some I've seen, I was very pleased and enjoyed not having to worry about my car while we were on our cruise.
Waiting wasn't that long. We were in line for about 15mins then boarded the ship soon after. Parking however is terrible. They don't have enough spots for all of the cruise guests.
Smaller but people were great! Quite a walk from parking lit however. I would recommend using cheaper parking directly across from port and taking the shuttle to the drop off!
Horrible wait for both embarkation and disembarking. Staff was friendly but the whole process was long and very disorganized. Do yourself a favor and sail out of another port.
Took a while to get on the boat, like an hour and a half. At the end of the cruise, customs went through this guy's Kay Jewelers box he bought for his wife as a wedding gift
Small port, organized and clean. Staff/security nice and friendly. If you need overnight parking I recommend the parking mall across the street from the port is cheaper.
Easy access from the shuttle. Customs officers were friendly and efficient. Crowds were handled well, with water and snacks provided for the long but fast-moving lines.
We had a wonderful experience here and as 1st time cruisers. We have since been on others and will never leave port from anywhere else! I highly recommend this port!
Nice and helpful folks working there. Could use some help with basic logistics such as getting vehicles through the drop-off area and getting people on/off the ship.
I'm not against senior citizens workers. This place need to speed up on workers mostly during summer. Never coming back on this port if I'm going to another cruise.
Embarkation went very smoothly. Debarkation was another matter. Only four customs agents for over two thousand people trying to go through customs was ridiculous.
Got off the plane, got a cab and BAM! Then the fun began. Moved along better than expected, after reading reviews on Carnivals website I was expecting a disaster.
Not your typical port or port parking compared to larger ports like Miami but the staff is amazing! Super helpful and courteous. Parking area seems very secure.
A small, but efficient cargo terminal masquerading as a passenger terminal as well. If you can cruise out of another port, do so. You have to park OUTSIDE HERE!
This was the first cruise for my wife and me. We had a blast. The food was good the drinks were a little weak but I'm not a drinker anyway wasn't deal breaker
The boarding experience was a complete Cluster you-know-what. Find a different port if you can.... Staff on Carnival Cruises are the ABSOLUTE BEST though!!!
We had a very easy time at Jaxport! We got our luggage checked and got through the terminal with no problem. The staff at the terminal was very friendly.
Carnival Cruise was great. The port is efficient but I felt like a pice of cargo being processed, but the port staff was very professional and friendly
This terminal sucks for people who just want to drop off. Theres only one way on and out on a long 2 lane road. Get there early the line will be long.
I really love it there I had lots of fun but they should get some more desserts I we there for spring break i would have sent pics but I had no Wi-Fi
Get warm inside when it's hot and humid. Didn't have to sit there too long though. Staff is okay. Weren't very friendly the last time I was there.
Great out of the way cruising. Goes to the Bahamas and back without the crowds. Smaller ship and great crew makes the trip well worth it.
Awesome we road the Carnival Elation. Had a great time awesome steward Michael on deck 5 room 217. The captains dinner was great as well.
If you're going on a cruise this is the terminal you wanna go in and out of. Super nice people, easy access. Better than most airports.
I hated the shuttle service across the road. Terminal was smoldering and no air circulation. The cruise was the best I ever took though
Service with our luggage was great. Everyone is so helpful. Note: Use the bathroom outside before you board. You can thank me later.
the staff is very professional and I bever thought that things could move so fast it was great! I hope its luje this at all the rest
Easy access and parking. Getting though security was easy but be prepared to stand for a while. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Pleasantly surprised at how smooth everything went here for our cruise. Staff was very friendly and kept the lines moving quickly.
Getting through on arrival was not fun. The lines here were long and slow and you had to stand a good portion in the hot sun.
Departure for Cruise's here are fast and efficient.Lots of parking space.l should love to use this Port for all my Cruise's.
I loved my Cruise. Best time ever. My car was safe and secure the week I was gone. All the staff were helpful and polite.
I give a 5 star to the employees. Very friendly and Courteous. But getting on and off cruise ship was very disappointing.
It was easy to get there. Adequate parking or drop off passenger. It was very organized with security directing traffic.
Were great getting on to the ship but took 2 hours to get off of the cruise because the Port was running so far behind
Most of the staff is helpful. Good job with moving people through the lines to board ship, and once again on return!
Good for a terminal. Set up in good order and moved customers through quickly. Would use this cruise terminal again.
It took forever for us to get off of the boat and through customs. Not as smooth as other ports I've cruised out of.
Every day was exciting! First time on a Cruise and all the places we went to was awesome and I will return. …
Carnival does a great job from start to finish all around perfect experience. Very impressive, will do that again.
The guys to help with baggage were very sqeet and helpful! Especially with the cold, they saved us from a bad day.
It was very easy to book online. Parking lot seemed safe. Carts will dtive you from parking spot to the terminal.
Small port, easy on and off the ship, shorter walk, and close parking. All of this makes your cruise much easier.
Easy to get to. Easy to find. Easy to park. Easy to get off. Been here 3 times and it’s a really smooth process.
