I was recommended this place by a mopar group in Jax so I went in thinking it would be better than the dealership… I was wrong Twice! The first time they were supposed to fix the coolant and some valves. They had my car for 2 days, when I picked my car up they told me they fixed everything and my coolant would be working fine. 2 days later my car went up in sheer smoke …. In Texas! I had moved to Texas and pulled my cawith uhaul, so when I finally got to my destination in Texas and untied my car and started driving it to uhaul… it went up in smoke smoke in traffic. Had to have it towed home. They did not put coolant or even water in. My car def had coolant before I took it in. So I’m not sure what happened. But it cost me $200 to fix from another repair place after letting it sit for a month because I couldn’t fix to get it paid again. So imagine how annoying that was. Fast forward it’s September I’m back in Florida, my car is knocking. I for whatever reason decide to give them a second chance, and these ppl literally charged me $580 for I HAVE NO IDEA. My car is still knocking and the kid who gave me my car had no idea how to explain what was wrong … mainly cause they never looked for the problem, he said “it may be rust on the part that keeps my engine up, so drive safe and get a new engine” even tho he himself said he didn’t know what the issue was because what he fixed for $580 was the solenoid… and once he fixed that the knocking didn’t go away, so it was out of his hands. Never going back here, they only care about those expensive euro cars or the corvettes and high end cars parked in the lot. I wish I went to the dealership.

I wish I could give 0 stars but i guess the one is for the effort they put in three times for me to have to take my car to the dealership to get fixed after three trips to the shop and spending 5 grand on ignition replacement, a brake booster, gasket kit ( they didn’t replace the valve covers that comes with a “kit” that was over $300.. ). Now my car makes a new noise in the engine bay and they refuse to fix it unless I buy more stuff that potentially could be causing the noise to happen, when the noise hasn’t appeared not once in 3+ years of me owning the car. *ATTENTION* *MUST READ* Here’s the best part, when i went to pick it up the third time they said it started overheating as soon as they pulled it in the bay to be looked at.. My car again hasn’t done that either so I asked is there water in the radiator and he said “if not I’ll top it off..”. Sure enough my car was bone dry.. They were about to let me leave that shop with no water in the reservoir after telling me my car is over heating and let me just break down to bring it back to spend more money.. My car made it home with a 35 minute drive without over heating.. I wouldn’t recommend this shop, this isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with these guys. I will never go back again. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Needed a new clutch for my 2010 Acura TL sh-awd. Not such a common car so I was somewhat nervous about getting it done. As a result I procrastinated and the slippage was gradually getting worse. Found JAXSPEC following an internet search. I had already tried the dealerships and several small shop (good) mechanics. I was sensing some reluctance on their part to do the job. Anyway, started talking (texting) with JAXSPEC and was comfortable from the get-go. Excellent knowledge and process for providing a detailed work and cost estimate. Carson was my contact and he was just great!! Very straightforward and communicative. I wasn’t sure, but he seemed to know what needed to be done. It took a little longer than expected but I would rather the work be done right. He had the flywheel resurfaced and went with an OEM clutch. I have just passed 500 miles of in-city driving and the clutch seems ‘broken in’. Feels like a different car with so much power and responsiveness. Andrew?, the mechanic technician did the work (A+) but I got the impression that they work as a team and Carson and others were involved too. Thank you Carson and Andrew and other unnamed people that helped. Super happy with everything I experienced at JAXSPEC.

Citizens of Jacksonville, Under no circumstance should you listen to any of these negative reviews below. I bought a vehicle in Miami and was driving it home to Houston when the lower ball joint gave way. It caused a ton of damage. I originally towed the car to Maxies auto (decent folks but I did not feel the price was fair). I started hunting for another shop which there are several in the area (some better reviews than others). That's when I stumbled onto JAXSPEC. I called them at 9am sharp, Carson answered the phone and listened to the rundown. THESE GUYS KNOW WHAT THEYRE DOING!! Carson is the man!! This shop is phenomenal! They have the parts and they offer fair labor. I can't speak any higher about this company. Do yourself a favor, if you have a sports car and need expert help; look no further. I'm mechanically inclined and do most of the work on my vehicles. I can vouch that these guys know their stuff. Had this happened back home I would have fixed the vehicle myself; however, these guys treated me like I was at home. With that being said if you're driving a car and its your beater.. Went to jax spec to get a short shifter and clutch pedal assembly put in. Originally the car was having trouble shifting into reverse so we were hoping a new shifter would fix the problem. They had the car for three weeks. We went to pick it up when it was done, it wouldn’t shift into 2nd 4th and reverse. It was worse then before. We drove a street away and brought it right back to have them look at again because something wasn’t right. We were told we needed a hole new transmission‍♀️ After looking at it again they couldn’t fix it. So we just took it home, for weeks we tried to figure out the problem before purchasing a new transmission. Finally we found the problem, whichever mechanic put the shifter in didn’t do it right. The shifter was lowered way to much to the point it was hitting apart of the car causing it to not shift into the bottom gears. So we raised it ourself and boom problem fixed. Ended up shifting into every gear smoothly. Almost made us buy a hole new transmission when it was just the mechanic who didn’t know what he/she was doing.

From start to finish they were professional, prompt, and quick to respond. No job too big or small, and if they can’t do it / don’t offer the service, they also have great recommendations! Dropped my Volvo V60 off and had a great experience at JaxSpec. GOt my A/C back in order and made honest recommendations and installed High Quality, Brand Name (Bilstein/Continental) parts as replacements at a very reasonable price point. My wife drove the car home and said the 6 year old 100k mile car felt like new again, and she was a little stunned she could even tell a difference in a short 10 minute drive, but thrilled with the results. JaxSpec was straight forward, honest, and showed us the take off parts when we picked up the car allowing me to verify their condition (they were toast). Great work done by great people. Took my car here for an oil change and tuneup and I was treated exactly how someone should be. They went over the services being done, showed me the invoice for approval, then performed the work in a (very) timely manner. The shop itself is clean and professional, and the work is top notch. I was made aware of additional hiccups with the car, and was explained the importance of them and was offered the option to have them taken care of in the same trip. Highly recommend- anything from a daily driver to a high end luxury sports car will feel welcome here. Very excited to tell my friends and family that there's a shop we can trust in town.

I am very particular about who I let work on my Lotus Exige. When I discovered a blown dampener on one of my shocks, I wanted to be sure the replacements I found were installed by someone experienced with these cars. Not only did the tech handle the job, he did a thorough inspection and shared some issues other people had with this particular car. Next up, a set of new tie rods to replace the stock ones that already have some play in them and need fresh bushings. Bottom line, these guys KNOW their cars and provided solid advice without trying to push things that aren't needed. 5 out 5 stars from me and I look forward to my next visit.

Carson did an incredible job converting my e46 M3 from an SMG to manual transmission at a very fair price. I was skeptical the conversion was not done 100% correctly at first but I am having no issues with my car now. This was a time consuming job that involved installing a new clutch, flywheel, clutch pedal, self centering shifter, trimming, and fine tuning. The long list of parts took forever to arrive and labor took longer than expected. However, I would take my car to JAXSPEC again with confidence they can do any job. Incredibly grateful Carson was able to save my car.

Being new to Jacksonville and having several cars, I was very concerned about finding an honest and reliable shop for service. I found Jaxspec through a referral from a friend of mine. They have been the exclusive shop working on my Murcielago and as a result of that will also be servicing the rest of my cars also. They are really just great, honest people that love cars and that’s who you really want working on your biggest investments. I can not recommend them enough for any car that you drive. Highly recommend these guys! They squeezed me into their busy schedule the same day and fixed the problem quickly. If you have an annoying grinding sound coming from under your Bimmer and it's directly under the center armrest console, that's caused by the brake lines hanging and grinding against the drive shaft. There workmanship and how knowledgeable they are of BMW’s and the upgrades available is superior and they help explain everything in great detail. They did a free inspection of my BMW 640i they found some issues that I was not aware of and they are being fixed. GREAT customer service and follow up customer service. I am extremely picky on who touches my Bimmer and works on her and hands down I will be going back to get more upgrades done in the future here !!

Carson has worked on all three of my cars and he’s honestly the only person I trust working on them. They won’t try to force sales on you and as a young woman that’s something you have to look out for. Sometimes I ask Carson if I can replace something because my overthinking mind thinks I need it and he’ll tell me no everything’s ok (he’s right). I had a pre-purchase inspection done at this shop on an E30 Touring. The inspection was thorough and worth the cost. The shop originally had an issue uploading the images and they were blurry on my end. They were quick to right the issue, even after I had paid, and had the car back in the shop to redo the images at no cost to me. I would definitely use them again!

Fast forward things have changed greatly. In the last few months during Kevin’s exit things have went down hill and fast. The shop manager took my trailer (cut the lock) without asking for personal use. Never apologized or tried to make it right. Now they are focused on the JDM world hoping to avails the many a very euro customers.

JAXSPEC service was fantastic! I had scheduled them to install lowering springs on my vehicle and they had me scheduled in only a couple days. Dropped the car off in the morning and was able to pick it up later the same day. Car looks much better and drives just as comfortable as stock! Thanks for making it so easy guys!
