I have been going here for the past 5 years and had recommended family and friends to this place from all over Melbourne. The service up until 2020 has been good - efficient, professional and ultimately this is why I recommended people to drive from all over town to see Dan and Daniel. This year I got Tony after the Dan's were not available and reception recommended him. Big mistake. What a way to turn an advocate customer into a detractor. Tony was very unprofessional in not only our dealings but also one of my family who had a subsequent appointment a week after me. 1. 4 of our returns were significantly less than previous years and he couldn't articulate why. He kept telling us that either we made too much money or the other person not enough but in all cases we are looking at thousands less than previous years despite him saying everything looked the same. 2. Told one of my family to make changes to payroll last year to help this year and after following his advice to boost this year she got less so his advice is flawed. 3. Didn't lodge one of them as he forgot. Trying to chase up was a nightmare. 4. Struggled with a phone consult and was blaming his reception on lost emails and files, telling us that he didn't have all the records but still insisted on completing the appointment. 5. Every question asked was interrupted by him cutting us off. 6. Appreciate COVID challenges but everyone in Melbourne are going through these not just Tony. Your customers are the blood to keep a business alive. We tried calling and speaking with reception who was as abrupt and dismissive saying she would pass on feedback to the owner but those calls were never returned. Tried to pass on our feedback but wasn't taken seriously... They are busy so perhaps they don't need us as customers but remember we were once VERY happy people who were not valued at all. And our once-hot recommendations to people at work, family, friends, BBQs no longer exists for this place. Disappointing...

After more than a decade of using JJ Taxation we will be moving on, sadly this isn't the business it used to be. We have been clients of JJ's team back when James was there. James retired and we got no word of this, no email, no phone call nothing. Then we got Tanya who was fantastic, helpful and great to deal with. Tanya left again no word, no email no nothing. Get to 22 / 23 returns have to pay over $500 to deal with new accountant who was very unhelpful, didn't seem to understand what we asked and raced through everything and we felt treated like a number, nothing more. I did all the heavy lifting, summarised all the expenses, added them all up into categories, totaled the expenses, the percentage split, sent them prior to our tax appointment. After submitting everything in our appointment with one basic question left to answer, 7 business days went by and nothing. I then had to call JJ's to get the simple answer we needed, then received documents the following day after we escalated, signed them and sent back to JJs on the 11th September....Checked ATO today, they were recevied 18th September. 3 weeks from the time of our appointment to the date in which ATO get it, now an additional 2 weeks wait. Note to business....James built this business off his customer service and responsiveness, it was always quick as his client base was massive but we felt like a customer not a number. As Customers we have multiple investments, large income claimes etc. we need to feel looked after and feel the tax advice we receive is genuine and with basis. We felt as if our tax returns, advice received, customer service etc was standing at the end of a busy Aldi checkout, just take it and go. We are a paying customer of yours and deserve the service promised and to know our taxes are in good hands. Please check your reviews of late and you'll see what is happening to your customer base.

I have been a customer since the year 2000 with James and unfortunately but good for James has retired and moved on. Then had Dan and Daniel which again were great and knew their stuff as well as Tanja who unfortunately has left she was unbelievably knowledgeable and very attentive best service ever and explained everything in layman's terms. However on 1 occasion had Tony who was extremely rude had no idea about basic things such as packaging and salary sacrifice etc. Or anything to do with family tax benefits claims either. He was very abrupt and couldn't wait to get you out of there. Wouldn't answer questions professionally and really knows how to mansplain. Anyway fast forward a couple of years and Tanja has left and only had the choice of seeing Tony I declined to book. Have a friend who did book to see Tony and said I'd wait to see how they go maybe Tony has changed or worked on his customer service skills. No change is worse and to top it off when my friend called to ask for help on their return said he had no idea and hung on on them. Did not want to discuss it and said it's not his problem. What an absolute joke. I can't understand how so many people are giving him such great reviews except that he has asked family and friends to put up good reviews and paid them. Very strange?? This guy is not knowledgeable and knows nothing. A real piece of work. Do not see Tony.

I have been audited TWICE since seeing James and as a result had to pay back money to the ato on both occasions. Now my husband has been audited and as a result has a tax bill of over $45k. It took my husband some time to get onto trying to sort it out (5months) however when I dropped off all of the receipts to the office I was told James was overseas, fair enough but that they would not be ae to help us until the end of the year as everybody was too busy with tax returns until later in the year. It is now later in the year and still James will not sort out this debt - we have all the receipts and as per the ato have asked JJ Taxation to resolve it however they have basically said tough luck. My husband has been going to James for about 10 years and has recommended atleast 30 coworkers and I have recommended at least 10 coworkers. What an absolute disgrace in customer service, when we are in fact paying for a service. We will both be sure to advise all of our friends of the service and audits we have had as a result.

The moment I walked into the door I had a bad vibe from this place. The girls at the reception sounded annoyed over the phone when I ask about directions of where they were located. She wasn’t helpful. I went to see Dan and he was late for my appt 15mins. No apology or handshake considering it was the first time we met. I was charged 160 plus an additional 80 for investment which I think its so pricey for the service I received that day. My previous tax agents had always got me good returns and what Dan got for me was a disappointment. He was mean not helpful unprofessional and not friendly. Even when I ask him advice with investments he was so blunt in his answers. Did not take his time to explain and make sure I did understand but instead wanted to get rid of me with 30mins. I felt like I was spoken to like a kid and he was just lecturing me about my tax. Not a good person and terrible service. Would not return!

If you want to deal with rude and unprofessional people look no further than dealing with Tony. My worst taxation assessment in over a decade, he spoke over me and my partner throughout the entire conversation, has the worst customer service skills and gave us the worst assessment in a decade. I accepted the return but for my own curiosity had another accountant do a quick re-assessment and my feeling was justified. Tony just rushes through it and is the rudest professional i have dealt with in years. We did have a very good experience with Dan the year before and he was really courteous so would recommend him highly!

My parents have been going to James since I was in primary school, so had recommended JJ Taxation Services to me a few years ago. Last year my return was done by Dan who was wonderful, and this year I booked in with Tony for myself and my partner. Obviously because of COVID it had to be processed over the phone, but Tony was incredibly helpful, thorough and even helped us calculate how much our HECS debt was impacting our returns and made extremely helpful suggestions for managing our salary sacrifices. We will definitely book in again next year, thank you so much Tony!

Ive been going to this service for years - when James just started out and he was doing taxation returns at his mum's kitchen table. James's business has grown and grown over the years and i will travel from where ever i am in Australia in order to have my return done by JJ Taxation Services. Well done on such a professional organisation - Dan now does my return and i am more than happy with this. Service is first rate.

Have had my tax return completed by James for over 10 years, who has know retired, half his luck. Just had this year's return completed by Tony over the phone , through recommendation and will continue to do so for many years to come. I've used JJ's services for a few years now and I'm yet to have a bad experience. Tony has helped me out when I've really needed it and you can always count on him to get you out of trouble. His an outstanding accountant that thoroughly explains your whole return to you and answers any questions that you ask. Wouldn't recommended anyone else!

I had my tax return done by James a couple of times and he was great, but not sure about the people who have taken over. They take two weeks to respond to emails, they're very old-fashioned. The reception staff are always so rude and annoyed, the tax agent did not even introduce herself and was unfriendly and unhelpful. Won't go again.

Quick to do my return, but leave the signed declaration in their inbox unread for two weeks. From getting onto to it early and should have my return already now will lose another two weeks. POOR EFFORT. Only way I found out I rang to follow up.
