"When you reach the calm people When you meet the natural green grass When you reach sparsely populated airport When you meet the silent and intelligent security personnel When you meet smiling officers When people are shining with faces When you feel at home When the sunshine is on but not as summer sunshine When clouds provide shades every after few minutes from moderate sunshine Then you know you are at Nyerere international airport"
Many improvements in this new airport but still swerves from international standards. This is the current process: - parking: this has much improved to the old terminals, less Chaos, strict parking fees, ample space) - first Security Scan: here ALL luggage is scanned, even the checked luggage which is not so common internationally. - check-in and bag drop off: no machines available, slow service - COVID vaccine proof check: eventhough we are not obligated to have this for our destination; kids were not checked. - immigration form: probably the only country where you have to fill out a form to exit the country. Paper forms are provided, but no pens. No way to prefill or do online. Everyone in the family needs to fill a form. - immigration check: form check, finger prints, pictures taken by webcam, extremely slow process, again doubtful if useful). Immigration officers are immensely rude and drilled. Our officer managed to not use a single word while processing our exit. Children only need picture taken, no fingerprints - second security check: max. 3 scanners available at the international terminal, but smooth process. - gates and food hall: bookshop, duty-free (not) shop (great coffee to bring home, neema craft souvenirs), aircafé (good breakfast combo menu that can be combined with a cappuccino), KFC, the coffee house and other shops in the making. Most of them open during midnight. - COVID situation: notes asking for wearing masks but not enforced and mostly not worn, sanitation dispensers are empty, proof of vaccines or recovery by QR code is required coming in and out.
If I could give it a zero i would. I had a change in airline and was to supposed to re-check-in meaning taking my luggage's out of the airport then checking in again or at least see my baggage but no I didn't and they stole it from me. I try to contact them no one replies, i had so many valuable goods inside which have all been stolen from me. I did contact my airline they have said that they cant help because its not their base but just gave us a confirmation that the baggage was left in Dar es Salaam and its status was removed from the system. Although its a clean airport but just degraded for theft issues. Overall I don't recommend transiting here.
Dar es Salaam new terminal is definitely a much needed upgrade from terminal 1, bathrooms are clean, Food and beverages are readily available throughout and there are some good duty free options as well. Downsides, immediately upon entry congestion at the doors upon entry, very much a nerve racking situation, you've just packed your bags from the car to the trolley, now you have to put them again on a scanner immediately upon entry, at the rotating door, it's a tight situation. Other than this the services have developed and 1 note I might add is they still ask for vaccine reports, that was surprising for me.
I had an opportunity to transit there. Facilities are neat and clean (are they brand new?). Some toilet closets ran out of paper rolls late in the night and need to be reloaded. It was curious for me that airport staff are so strict on checking your documents apart from your boarding pass and passport. Unlike in any other African airport where you are in transit to an international destination, you have to provide your covid vaccination certificate, your yellow fever certificate. I have never experienced it while on transfer in ADD, NBO or JNB.
When you reach the calm people When you meet the natural green grass When you reach sparsely populated airport When you meet the silent and intelligent security personnel When you meet smiling officers When people are shining with faces When you feel at home When the sunshine is on but not as summer sunshine When clouds provide shades every after few minutes from moderate sunshine Then you know you are at Nyerere international airport. The arts at the walls inside the port is fascinating. Extremely beautiful
The cleanest, most well kept, only airport in eastern Africa made to international standards. Everything works, unlike the rest of the Chinese built airports in the very region that are already falling apart in less than five years of use. This facility is well designed and built with material that will see it last for many years before major repairs are undertaken.
Poor service delivery, our flight departure time was changed 3 times, and no food was given to us until we had to complain. Please let's improve our services, this is poor and not right at all. I arrived at the airport at 08.30hrs enroute to Hre, and it's now 15.20, and I am still here,no food since morning! This is terrible. Africa let's do better
It is a place that deserves to hold international flights. The services are highly organized and perfect. Service providers are kind and ready to help. The security is also very tight which is a good thing. I think one thing to modify or change is the wifi, the wifi is not constant sometimes it is strong sometimes it is weak and keeps on changing
A nice airport and easy access. As of today, rapid Covid tests are still offered for $10 USD (or approx 20,000 TZS) inside Terminal 3 to the far left of the check-in counters. A taxi driver told me tests are not available here anymore, but I am at the testing cue now. …
Nice terminal and very well maintained. State of art infrastructure and very helpful staff . Very peaceful and calm . Excellent cleanness and maintained very well . Facilities are available in every aspect at terminal. Everything is quite quick and easy .
A work in progress. This is the newest terminal at Dar-es-Salaam airport. Used for international arrivals and departures. Lots of space, and all necessary facilities. The terminal's built in a linear fashion with gates stretching from one end to another!
Very good and clean terminal with all the possible amenities. We spent time in the CIP lounge and it was also very good. A good trip to Tanzania comes to an end with a sweet closing. Thank you all Tanzania who made it more beautiful and happy.
The new terminal is neat and spacious, polite staff on the ground and the restrooms are neat and well maintained. There is good accomodation for persons with Disability...rumps and lifts that are spacious and rails where required.
No hay ni sillas ni sillones para sentarse mientras esperas poder hacer el check in. Llevamos 5 horas aquí y aún no podemos facturar solo te puedes sentar en las cafeterías, no hay salas de espera. Muy atrasado en este aspecto.
The main Airport for those who'll be visiting here from abroad. All important service to the guests like Bureau De Change are also available. Other international Airports includes Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro international airports
Terminal 3 is up to international standard, I use this airport every 3 months, squicky clean toilets, Departure lounge has KFC and Pizza Hut , Bookstore.
One of the friendliest airports I have ever been to. From check-in to immigration and waiting for my flight everyone was extremely kind and helpful
Was Flying with Qatar Airways.. Ms Laila Ali Seif and her team including swiss port checkin services providers were extremely helpful and humble.
The Covid testing procedures need to be improved, since results are available online should find a mechanism of not keeping people wait for Long
The new terminal is modern, smart and efficient. I wish some of the fast food outlets could be changed for more national cuisine though.
One of the best airport in East Africa .. all is well organised and well planned.. spacious and easy flow from check in to boarding
Clean nice airport with some shops while you're waiting. Don't forget to fill immigration form before going through security.
Clean, air conditioned, enough seating space and chairs, good variety of restaurants and duty free shops. Keep it up!
This airport is great. People here are friendly. Though it is a bit of a wait to process visitors, they do it well
Excellent airport... Much much better than the old airport... Excellent work done. WI Fi needs improvement
The airport WiFi is literally not there which is very inconveniencing for travelers. Can you do better!
I felt disrespected at the security checkpoint after the immigration on Thursday 15th at around 22hrs.
Not organized... none to assist.. rude staff. It is a nice airport but very passebgers unfriendly
