I have recently had the pleasure of both tenanting and selling my property in North Melbourne through JMRE and I have to say I am thoroughly satisfied with the whole process and I would absolutely recommend them. I first met John and Mary about 4 years ago while I was in the process of renovating with a view to sell. During that time I met with a number of local agents, and John really stood out amongst them all. Throughout that period his advice and connections with local tradesmen and services were invaluable, and when the renovation was complete I decided to hold on to the property and rent it out through JMRE. Finally, when it did come time to sell the whole process was smooth and stress free. I found myself trusting in John's experience and his advice was always on the money, and in the end he managed to achieve what I consider to be the best possible sale price I could have hoped for. I have dealt with a number of real estate agents over the years, both as a tenant and as a landlord/vendor, and I can say without hesitation that my experience with John, Mary and the whole JMRE team has been without question the best and I would definitely work with them again. We have had a long and extremely positive relationship with JMRE Real Estate. JMRE has managed the rental of two investment properties for us for a number of years. We moved the management from another Real Estate firm, and the difference in service was night and day. Mary and all the team at JMRE are extremely professional and detail orientated. Any issue, no matter how small, was always addressed and we never had an experience where an issue "fell through the cracks", as things so often can at larger Real Estate franchises. From the moment we met JMRE we noted a distinct air of transparency, confidence and professionalism that stood apart from other agents we had encountered. The application process for the rental property, approval and signing the lease were clear and smooth. During receiving the keys, we appreciated the thoroughly detailed property acceptance condition report - which listed the condition of all aspects of the apartment - it gave us a peace of mind in knowing there was a clear and mutual understanding of the condition of the property. During the tenancy, property inspections were planned in advance, were smooth and did not cause us disruption. Minor queries and issues that arose were responded to and addressed in a timely manner. Towards the end of our lease there were property inspections for a prospective buyer; these were scheduled in advance and conducted with due respect for our residency at the time. All in all, we were extremely pleased to have been able to lease the property through JMRE, as a boutique stand alone realtor, they provided a level of service and professionalism that we have not experienced through other franchised agencies. Made the fatal mistake of believing the owner/agent's rhetoric in selling my property. The attitude pre & post contract signing contrasted so much so as to set off some seriously worrying alarm bells. From alleged prospective buyers disappearing through purchasing other properties (according to the owner/agent), to questionable invoices received after contract signing and the owner/agent's flippant backtracking when questioned over discrepancies, it was a dreadful reminder of how well the morally corrupt are protected by our systems. Any chance of personal self protection, 'Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see.' And if you'd rather believe a real estate agent, good luck to you. 14.12.21 update - Thank you for your reply JMRE. The dishonesty doesn't end - I know exactly who you are & what you are.

I have had two rental properties managed by JMRE and they have been amazing. They've vetted the applicants thoroughly and I have had quality tenants in my houses who have looked after the property and paid their rent on time. I deal with Samantha who is AWESOME. She is thorough, proactive, communicates everything in a timely manner, keeps me up to date, works through any property issues with me, ensures the property is looked after and is also a really lovely person. I have a terrible experience with JMRE as a tenant. Our property manager was strict to us. It was late by weeks to get a reply to an email. Some times she did not reply at all and I had to go their office in person taking leave of my job. We were asked to leave the property by one year when we request to stay for second year. Then they wanted us to open the property for inspection for new tenants several Saturdays for same price. This unexpected change of residence lead to change of schools of my children as well as several issues to whole my family.

Quite an average experience while searching for a property, we travelled over 40 mins to inspect the property, and reached at 11:07 am, the inspection time was supposed to be 11:00 am, then the agent told us that he cannot show us the property as he had to leave. Was a major waste of our time. We organized a second inspection and the the same agent came at 11:07 am to show the property. Very disappointing experience.

We found JMRE very frustrating to deal with. Repairs were often delayed, communication from staff was unhelpful and at times very rude. Once I was told it was normal for hot water to run out after one person showers in the morning. The whole tenancy was really stressful and JMRE's property management was one of the reasons we left.
