I totally forgot to pick up a coffee when I left downtown today however I was around the area and I asked Google "take me to the nearest coffee shop" of course Starbucks was #1 on the list I continued to scroll down the list and I discovered Jaunt Coffee Roasters "I got to go!" I said When I arrive I was a little insecure if I was at the right place. Everything's looked like a warehouse the majority of the breweries are around are closed. As I continued to walk across the parking lot I finally found the coffee shop. Inside I found the shop warm and cozy with modern rustic look. Really loved the theme. One thing that caught my eye and made feel at home was empanadas from "Empanadas Kitchen". Empanadas Kitchen is just down the block from my house so when I saw the empanadas I knew I was at the right place and let me tell you when I got my mocha and opened the lid I found freckles chocolate on top of my coffee I smelled it the aroma was amazing. I take my first sip OH PEOPLE! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO SKIP MCDONALD'S STARBUCKS' AND DRIVE UP TO JAUNT COFFEE! It was a delicious Mocha! I will definitely return even if it's 30 min drive from Downtown thank you guys

I come here a lot because the food, service, and coffee are really good. Their workers are always so sweet and kind, it definitely adds to the experience. I love getting their carmel black salt latte with oatmilk, and their breakfast burritos are always solid. Their empanadas are always delicious as well! Try to come early cos their pastries, burritos, and empanadas sell out. This place is definitely one of my favorite cafes.

Everytime I come I gotta get a drink and pastry. The wide variety of drinks here are all excellent and you can never go wrong (my personal favorites are the Matcha Lavender Latte or Mojito Cold brew, however anytime I branch out and try a new drink I'm always surprised). Also the pastries are always unique with options for my sweet days (like the poptarts, muffins, or flakey croissants) and they have options if you want a nice savory pastry (like the many empanadas they have hot and ready). These experiences would also be topped off by the excellent customer service of the workers taking their time to deliver you the best experiences and food to make you want to return again. The staff is not only great at making you feel at home but also know how to make excellent drinks with the quality ingredients provided. I will be returning again soon for these reasons

I love the staff, the people and the energy of this coffee shop. It’s in a plaza with little parking. There’s always a line. Two tables that seat 3 inside and more tables outside under the tent. Dress warm if you’re outside, it’s like a wind tunnel. For food they have breakfast burrito, açaí bowl and empanadas. They are known for their empanadas. We tried beef, chicken, sweet corn & basil. They have really good pastries too. We tried the coconut pandan croissant. Coconut flakes on top with creamy pandan inside. I was hesitant but I loved it. So yummy! So many choices for coffee. I asked for decaf and got a rosemary latte with a beautiful art work inside a take out cup that was still intact when I opened the lid.

Excellent drip coffee. Bakery looks good, including freshly baked empanadas. Wifi is good. Friendly service with outstanding EQ. Lots of parking. Seating inside well spaced and feels good. Update: Pros: no doubt, the coffee is outstanding. They had almond croissants with some extras, so very nice! Cons: Had to ask for napkins, c’mon guys common sense when ordering food. Also, only cardboard cups, no mugs for those drinking in; I got distracted while waiting for the coffee to cool enough to drink and some of the cardboard taste started to leech into the coffee. Anyway, still overall an excellent experience (so far) and because this is local business stays at 5* :)

A wide range of coffee flavors to choose from as well as Empanadas. Great option for coffee in SD!

Jaunt is a funky small cafe spot in what appears to be a renovated office park that is working to become a more active spot. The day I went, there was a metal music fair happening that made for some interesting background music! The food is very interesting and varied. It is a little overpriced for the portion sizes - I got one of the empanadas which was delicious but about the size of a dumpling. I got the Honey Bear drink which was delicious. The outdoor seating is plain with just a few patio tables under canopy tents, but it's a sweet spot and I hope to see that area grow and get more vitalized with community events, etc.

  • Ashley Greene

Jaunt is my favorite coffee spot in all of San Diego. Their beans are amazing. (They have multiple varieties and they’re all delicious!) Their drinks are high quality (they make their own chai in house among others) and the vibe inside is chill and awesome. They maintain a level of quality is unmatched!

The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I came in about an hour before closing with food from another restaurant nearby and they allowed me to eat at their cafe. The nitro cold brew was awesome (I highly recommend getting chocolate added if you like dark chocolate flavor) but the Mexican mocha absolutely won this place over for me. Such a nice balance of chocolate and cinnamon to creaminess. I will absolutely come back for it. The empanadas weren’t the best but I can attribute that to coming later in the day so they weren’t as fresh. Overall, I highly recommend coming here!

Always visit this shop for a delicious Rosemary latte and empanada when I'm back in San Diego. Love the new space they have moved into that provides so much more seating and a chance to enjoy the beautiful atmosphere. Go enjoy your coffee journey!

Picked up malasadas to eat at home on a Friday (malasadas are only made on Friday and Saturday). We got ube, chocolate, vanilla, and the seasonal caramel apple. The seasonal caramel apple was mediocre - couldn't taste much caramel flavor and the apple wasn't very tender. However, the ube, chocolate, and vanilla malasadas were excellent. If you want malasadas, I suggest going early. We got there at 8:20 am and got the 2nd to last chocolate malasada. We also got a latte that was good as well.

  • Morpheus Malachi

Open early and excellent customer service. I love the little shops. Caramel black salt latte one hot and one cold and both absolutely delicious. Impeccable cozy little storefront in the back. They also have small breakfast eats that are scrumptious and also delicious. I loved the vibe here, the country needs more coffee shops like this and less of those big BUCKS places if you know what i mean. Yes they have Wi-Fi just request the password and keep it movin

Been going to Jaunt pretty much since they opened & finally brought craft coffee to Mira Mesa. They have delicious empanadas that often sell out, yummy pastries, burritos and the coffee is so good! We often buy their whole beans by the bag to take home and love getting a cortado, iced Americano, and their funky lattes are a fun treat. One of the best aspects is their amazing supportive owner Jimmy, and team leader Christian. The whole staff are so friendly!

  • Max Godfrey

Incredible drinks, but the people were what really made an impression on me. Super friendly, extra helpful, *and* enthusiastic about coffee. I've been a regular at lots of shops but I can't remember a brista ever learning my name after only two visits. Christian and Maddy were especially kind and took complicated orders w/ dietary restrictions right in stride. Christian even offered to let me taste a coffee he was dialing in. 10/10, would recommend.

I work right by this place, and for once I got to work early soooo I had to try. I got their spiced cold brew and their raspberry pop tart, and both are amazing!! The guys working the counter were super nice, the food selection has a lot to offer, and lots of drinks options. Each coffee is hand made, so just make sure to give yourself some time. Nothing tasty comes quickly. I will definitely be making a point to get to work earlier more often!

  • Priyanka Chavan

It gives that hole in the wall coffee shop feel. It’s at the end of a parking lot not in a complex. Coffee is good, their special latte options are great and seasonal. They have smoothies too. The decor is very refreshing with all the plants. Service was quick even though it was busy weekend morning. The picture is of cortado with a shot of hazelnut vanilla. My current favorite is cortado if you love little stronger coffee than a latte.

  • Frank O'Connor

Great people, great beans, great vibe, and all around a great place. Super cool spot inside a commercial complex full of small eateries. The guys at the barista bar were really nice and welcoming. Prices were normal, if not slightly on the high side. Nice seating indoor and out and very clean! A bit tucked away but definitely worth the visit. Super cool “donate a coffee drink to someone that comes into the store in need” thing too.

  • Shabnam Naghavi

Mediocre at best. Not sure why there’s such a long line for this place. I visited on Sunday, Dec 10th. My flat white came out lukewarm. The s’more croissant was dry. My acai bowl wasn’t even blended, it was just scooped out. Ugh disappointed I spent $30 here. (Photo evidence that I was here)

The espresso is reasonably priced at $3.50 and has very pleasant flavor. The crema is pleasing on top and it sits nicely in the middle of your tongue. The cups solid and have a quality feel to them. The environment is where this coffee shop really shines. The walls are dark with with wood accents. Open double doors let fresh air in and skylights let in natural light, not to mention that the Wi-Fi is a respectable 65mbps

  • Wayne Lucchese

Great coffee in a fun spot next to a bunch of other interesting places. Really good coffee was quite surprised by it. Also happy they have some great empanadas as well. Coffee and empanadas great combo. Tried out a few pastries and the sausage breakfast burrito to complete my morning coffee run. Small burrito but the salsa and chipotle creme that came with it was good. Would stop by for coffee and empanadas again.

  • Jenna M

Beans are good quality and the barista that made my coffee was very good - I had an excellent cortado. Dampener on the experience was the price of alternative milk for a short coffee. A tiered price level for short vs tall coffees would make more sense, it is frustrating to be charged $1 for both 2 oz of oat milk and 10 oz or more of oat milk (alternative milk is not optional for some people).

  • Christina McLaughlin

I love this place and come here at least once a week! The service is wonderful, and the coffee is delicious! Highly recommend giving them a try! Their Black Sesame Chai is also amazing!

Love Jaunts so much. My friend introduced Jaunts to me early last year and has been my go to coffee spot. Whenever I'm in the area or craving coffee, I go to Jaunts. They have a nice selection of drinks and their empanadas are to die for. I've only had the beef and chicken ones, but they were quite tasty. They also have specialty drinks every so often which I think is very cool!

  • E D

Amazing espresso with a dreamy milk texture and flavor. I loved all the fun, house-made syrups. Each one we tried (the rose vanilla, rosemary, cafe de olla and cinnamon cardamom) had an engaging and delicious flavor profile where the taste of both the coffee and the syrups shined. Oh yeah and the empanadas?! TO DIE FOR. The beef and sweet corn + basil just filled my soul.

  • jc ortega

Can’t say enough good things about this spot. As a coffee snob myself, I can safely say this shop is top 3 in the county. The coffee is delicious, and I mean the coffee roasts without any added flavors, just black, which makes the espresso gourmet drinks that much better. All the food and pastries offered here are also all a great treat to go along with it.

  • Deniz Turkmen

COVID Update: they are open until 1PM, you can still get delicious soyrizo burrito and coffee. Came for the beans, stayed for lunch. Glad I did. Soyrizo burrito was tasty, and just the right size. Setting is nice. Service is good. I bought a bag of Guatamala beans, and they taste great in my mochas. It's a small shop, I hope they expand in the future.

  • Sina

Love the coffee here. Modern atmosphere is great. I do however hate the layout since they have their register all the way in the back which requires navigating around the crowds just to order something. Truly a horrible flow. If you can forgive that unwelcoming welcome process all else is a win and you'll enjoy the place. Easy 5 star otherwise.

  • Josh O

Wow, we didn’t expect the line to be out the door. We can see why! The empanadas (beef, chicken, and sweet corn and basil) were so good! Their açaí bowl was, we all really enjoyed how refreshing it was. We got a dirty ube latte and a Costa Rica Terrazu pourover (we had to grab a bag to go!). Highly recommend this place for your morning routine.

  • E L

Always a nice spot for a quick coffee stop on the way to work. Plenty of good drink options, good empanadas and pastries, and good seating outside. Customer service is good as well. I’ve only ever gone in the morning when parking isn’t an issue. I’m not sure how it is later in the day since the shop is a part of a little complex.

  • Virginia Klimmek

Jimmy, thank you for your service in providing the best high quality coffee. Your team is always very friendly and helpful; making the perfect drinks. Love coming here as nothing is a disappointment at Jaunt. Love the new accommodations & you have earned my business & respect. Hope that your efforts bring you much prosperity!!!

  • Doug Bourne

Nice flavor on the oat milk cappuccino. Rich and smooth. Friendly service. Savory scone was good with nice tomato flavor. Beef empanada had deep caramelized onion flavor and nice crunch to the crust. Was a bit slow to get coffee on a Saturday at lunch, but lots of other cool stores to nearby to wander to while you are waiting.

  • Kate Gallagher

Could not recommend this place more! The iced Panela latte (w/oat milk) was incredible! I believe his name is Paul, helped me decide what to order and it was perfect! He's also a ray of sunshine, so friendly and enthusiastic :) can't wait to come back to Jaunt! 10/10 cakes and pastries too! They sell out fast so come early!

  • Chia-Hsien Ho

The flat white I tried at the café was made with the Guatemala beans, which I felt just fine, smooth but not too strong. But the coffee beans I bought (Murphinator) were awesome! It’s medium-dark roasted and I made it as latte, smooth and strong, well blended with dark chocolate and slight sweetness.

  • Ahmad Hirbawi

My go to coffee shop and roaster, I usually get whole bean coffee bag different type each time but mainly the Ethiopian. They also have delicious empanadas, and other baked stuff. The Ethiopian coffee is amazing they have multiple varieties/notes. Also their house blend “130 Blend” is delicious.

  • Alexander Hawkins

Jaunt is easily my favorite coffee shop in San Diego! Their pastries are awesome, their drinks are unique and tasty, customer service is great, and the location is so pretty! It can get pretty busy on weekends, so plan ahead! But even then, drinks come out blazingly fast and always taste 10/10!

  • Xander

Visiting from out of town and found this amazing coffee post. Was able to secure an impressive amount of beans and am so excited to try them. Be sure to pick up some pastries. Food options available could satisfy anyone I think! My nitro cold brew tasted silky and cashewy with very low acidity.

  • Cristina Rangel

A new local favorite, empanadas, pastries and really good blends of coffee. Mexican Chiapas ground coffee has been the go new favorite filling crave for morning coffee at home to start the day and when we visit the lattes and slow drip has been the on point must haves!! Thank you Jaunt coffee!

  • Gale Gibbons

This is my favorite coffee shop! The people are so nice and the vibe is lovely. The staff is very queer friendly too. I highly recommend the cardamom cinnamon latte, lemon lavender muffin, and vegan soyrizo burritos <3 Also I love that we can text ahead and ask if they have burritos!

Coffee is good but bakery items aren’t. 1st day I tried the ham and cheese croissant - it was cold and ham was only at very end. 2nd day I tried a blueberry muffin and asked for it warmed up- the inside was still cold and it was very pasty . Overall atmosphere was nice inside and out

First time trying Jaunt Coffee Roasters. A little hidden but an outstanding find. Their coffee is excellent and they offer enough food options for a nice Sunday breakfast. I got a Cortado and my friend got an espresso. Both of us were pleased with our drinks. Will definitely be back

  • Blake King

Great coffee, super cool atmosphere, and friendly staff! I had the orange ginger cold brew which was shaken with cream, perfectly sweet and I loved it! My wife had the vanilla hazelnut latte which was delicious. It almost tasted like milk after cereal :D give this place a try!!

  • Jennifer Robinson

Jaunt is one of my favorite coffee shops in San Diego. I love their bacon and egg empanada and Panela Latte (made with sugar cane). The service is always top notch too! They have outside tables you can sit at, or you can take your coffee to-go and walk around Miramar Lake.

  • Ernesto Ruiz

Congrats on the new place, it,'s very comfortable and very chic... Always enjoy your great coffee, just one suggestion, bring more beef empanadas, they go too fast, by the time I get there they are gone most of the time... Congratulations again and keep the good work...

Amazing coffee! I’ve been drinking nothing but Starbucks and now I’ve finally figured out how real coffee is supposed to taste like. They’re really nice people too. They had a “Pay-by-Post-It” board where if you were adversely financially
