I take back anything good I’ve ever said about this school in my previous review a couple months prior. Its reputation is so good for absolutely no reason. The kids at this school deem it appropriate to “jump” (beat up) anyone for a reason as simple as “she annoyed me”. To all the parents if your child is prone to bullying or a little different please don’t send them here. I would recommend St. Joseph’s if you cannot pay for a school since it’s in the same catchement. Or any private institution of your choice if possible. Parents please listen to me- a father of 3... do not send your kids here. It caused anxiety and an interest in drug use. Please. Please. Please. In the best interest of your child. Teachers do absolutely nothing and unmannered children run the halls of this school. This school is known as one of Ottawa’s best public schools, but its all false. Many students also find it funny to unconsensually take photos of others and post them online, which I find unaceptable. Save your student the stress and bad influences- stay away from John Mccrae.

Teachers are not that bad (depending on the teacher), Mr. Bourcier is literally the GOAT! But the school is awful because nobody has made others aware of disabilities, and people with disabilities had no way to really find others like them. My friends started a club to show awareness. Still, I'd expect a school to have a disability awareness place without a student having to. Very open to pride though. I am still a student in this school. No more than 2 stars for me right now, I might end up rating it higher in a few years. ☆

The school itself is good, all the teachers I have had have been excellent. But, the people themselves are a little… interesting. You’ll have a 1 in 4 chance to walk in to a group of people vaping in the bathroom or doing other stuff in the bathroom. The year that I am writing this, for a short period of time, you had to sign in to the bathroom and only one was available, the first floor bathroom because of something that happened in there (I’m not exactly sure what)

Graduated in 2021. We didn't receive a prom, a yearbook, or even a handshake on stage with a diploma in hand. All of our time in highschool, only for a "high five" in comparison for our accomplishments. But it's all good and dandy. We got our cap and gowns in plastic ziplock bags and the opportunity to take a picture in front of the school. Neat. Great staff, questionable peers, and disappointing graduations.

My friend's kids went here! And they seem smart, so it must be a good school. It certainly can't be the genetics, because my friend isn't nearly as smart as his teenaged kids... Or so they say.... Apart from that, I don't know much about the place.

I only went for one semester but it’s basically has the same issues as any suburban white high school honestly. Pretty good school for competitive sports!

Good school but teachers really need to learn how to teach kids to behave. They let too many things slide and dont care about poor behaviour

i dislike this place but they have a super cool art teacher and wood cutting machines so ill be generous

It's a school, what's there to like about it? Other than some of the teachers, not much.

Known as the drug school, all sorts of drugs are done there even during school hours.

100% send you kids here everyone is so kind and the teachers are the best
