JH certainly break the mold where Solicitors are concerned! They dealt with a complicated house transaction that involved a BTL remortgage on our existing owned property, a residential mortgage & residential purchase. Sue was always extremely efficient. She dealt with all matters promptly & thoroughly. The transaction progressed smoothly & speedily because of her professionalism. I never needed to chase her because she always actioned things straight away & kept me up to date with progress. JH & Sue in particular were a complete breath of fresh air. She took a lot of the stress out of what is usually a very anxious time. I would have no hesitation in using JH’s services again for any legal matter and in recommending them on to others.

A follow up to my previous review, my matter is not complete, after it taking them over 5 months to complete a simple no chain property purchase! Following the completion I made what I think may have been a complaint with Andrew Eagle, Senior Partner who email by email disregarded all my comments and concerns around my matter. Talking to ANYONE within this company (and believe me, I’ve spoken to at least 5 people) is like talking to a wall. You would probably get a better response from the wall in fact, at least the wall wouldn’t lie, shift blame and disregard all of your concerns and issues. Never would I ever recommend Josiah Hincks in any type of law matters, what I would suggest is literally any other solicitor!

I came across Josiah Hincks when googling best solicitors in my area. I was put in touch with Laurie who first of all dealt with my Transfer of Equity and then onto a purchase of a property. I couldn't have asked for better service. Laurie was always so helpful, very responsive and on the case! She made a particularly stressful and life changing time in my life a little bit easier and helped me to purchase my dream home, for myself and young son. I will be forever thankful for the service Laurie gave to me. Laurie was professional yet personable throughout. Anyone that deals with Laurie is in great hands! A poor experience with their conveyancing team. Unwilling to complete a fairly simple transaction within a 7 week deadline despite all other parties eager and ready to complete. Advising me to prepare to extend the process further. Refused to provide estimates of when they will complete their side of the work. Single line answers to emails with no empathy or consideration shown. Using COVID as an excuse to be as ambiguous as possible around their working practices. No explanation of the process or likely timeline. I suspect they are prioritising their most lucrative cases. Pricing is not particularly competitive either, so definitely a firm to skip.

Excellent conveyancing work for a difficult, retrospective first registration with HM Land Registry. My solicitor (Laurie McAulay) was always very approachable, friendly, timely with her responses, efficient and thoroughly professional throughout. I particularly like having direct 'phone and e-mail contact which gives a more personable experience. I will definitely be using Josiah Hincks again when the need arises ... and particularly Laurie McAulay for any conveyancing requirements.
