The attentive staff immediately made us feel at home, and our lovely waitress, not only beautiful but also engaging, added an extra touch of delight to our meal. Now, let's talk about the food – an absolute revelation! We sampled an array of dishes, and each one exceeded our expectations. The Caesar Classic salad, served in generous portions, was a delightful start to our culinary journey. The succulent chicken sausage with cheese was an explosion of flavors, and the Kovurma Lagman was a perfect harmony of textures and spices. The Kadu Burak and Bichak with Spinach were simply divine, leaving us craving for more. The portion sizes were commendable - hearty and satisfying without compromise. The prices were reasonable, considering the exceptional quality of both the food and service. In fact, the beers were not only good but also reasonably priced, especially when compared to another local restaurant that charged us more for smaller portions of beer. Joy Chaikhana is an upscale place, and so the prices reflect that. The food is quite good (we got a fruit platter, cheesecake and drinks), and the atmosphere charming. In the evening, the musicians came to play instruments. The servers are mostly young people, who are either learning or teaching others. English of our server was not great (good enough to take the order, but not good enough to explain anything). Unlike some other tourist traps, this place doesn't scam with mandatory service charges. However, our waiter was very forceful about the tip, and told us twice he was expecting a tip. This left a sour aftertaste. Uzbekistan should not follow bad practices from elsewhere to scam tourists with additional service charges or mandatory tips.

I highly rate this restaurant. We stumbled upon it and were refused entrance as they were fully booked. After seeing all the reviews, we asked to make a booking for the following night. The menu is mainly composed of Uzbek dishes. We had a couple mains, dolmas as a hot appetizer (highly recommend) and two desserts. Service was quite speedy and the waiters were incredibly polite. It’s probably the best restaurant I’ve eaten at in Uzbekistan in the few weeks I’ve been here and also the first time I don’t get scammed with service charge or otherwise…! Beautiful building as well and they play live music in the evenings.

The personnel is attentive and treats you great in a multitude of languages. Normal prices, great value for money. The food was the most delicious we tasted in 10 days in Uzbekistan, finely cooked with the best first ingredients. The place has open kitchen and on the night we visited, it also had live music. I cannot recommend enough. Revisited for a short break next morning, the lemon mint limonade is amazing and refreshing!

Generous servings of delicious food, very attentive (but not overly attentive) staff, comfortable cool environment (important on a hot night) and great atmosphere with modern upbeat music. Joy lounge combines the heritage charm of old Bukhara with modern professional dining standards. Pricing is moderate and quality is high. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, Thank you!

Such a lovely place to eat local food sitting at topchan! We had bichak with spinach, manti and cheburek plus salad Shakarob(tomato, basil, onions); and local beer. Yumm! We loved everything! Fresh, delicious, and service is great! Prices are like anywhere around. They accept cards. We paid 18$ for 2. Another plus: they don’t include tips charge into the check! So that’s why the service is good! We tipped 20%. They also have mist sprinklers, which is so refreshing in June’s heat! Definitely recommend!

It was a wonderful restaurant. Since I dined alone, I couldn't order a lot, but the Uzbekistan beer, wine, and vodka were all delicious, and the food was tasty as well. After the meal, they recommended shisha, and I tried it. As a beginner, they patiently taught me how to smoke it, and I had a fantastic time. The staff was proficient in English, very friendly, and created a positive atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant to others.

Probably the best place I've eaten in Uzbekistan. Service and atmosphere is top and of Western quality. They have a young and dedicated staff that offer good recommendations and are very accommodating. The food was great, as well, and very local.

Excellent meal in a very nice ambiance. Everything is very curated. The waiter was very nice and spoke adequate english. The food, most importantly, is very solid - I recommend the green noodles and the pumpkin ravioli. Comprehensive menu in English.

The food is really good! We had the xanum and kovurna lagman, 2 national dishes. Prices are competitive. No service charge. Highly recommended. I enjoyed the honey cake as well. And the place is nice.
