Have to update this review, unfortunately first time I went I was assured car was looked at. Started having issues with the car a few months after, brought it in for service where it said low coolant. Explained what happened and that the car needed to be checked for coolant. Come back to pick up car after hours, same error message and nothing was done about it. Called the next day because I noticed the coolant cap wasn't even taken off, asked how they checked for coolant, was told that it was done without taking off the cap. Went to a family friend who serviced his own cars and asked him to check coolant. He poured a litre of coolant in front of me, capacity in my car is 2L, so very much a coolant issue that this service couldn't find. Called back to the owner to tell him about the issue, he said he will investigate and get back to me, it's been a week and a half, safe to say probably not getting a call back. It would make sense for them to refund the money I paid for them to literally turn on my car, see no errors and turn off, definitely not a 150$ kind of service without resolving the issue. Tried to tell me I have some other issues where it could have been a simple fix had they done what I asked in the first place. Not happy, I don't need someone to tell me my car is fine and maybe it's the temperature.

This is my first online review ever! Here we go, I am an older man (50+) that has seen his fair share of overpriced under quality service here in Calgary. I do not know the owner or any of the staff personally. I have been using Joyride Automotive for years now! Not once and I mean never have I felt so well served in the automobile industry. Personal service, happy professional shop demeanor, excellent knowledge from staff and owner Ben make every visit enjoyable. Just like the company name states "Joyride". I never get up sold, the pricing is extremely low for the quality service and products that are delivered in this exceptional shop, I wish I had discovered them earlier. My car runs amazing and I don't get those pesky calls like "hey it's time for an oil change" or "you should come in for a service check" trying to scare/guilt me in to a visit at the stealership! If you have not dealt with Joyride yet you are overpaying and short cutting you vehicles lifespan and peak performance. I wholeheartedly can recommend this shop to anybody as I have done on numerous occasions. Need a real mechanic then this is the place to be! I enjoy my Joyride every day and like Nike says "JUST DO IT"

terrible experience. the tech didn't take things seriously, as my problem was intermittent and didn't show when I went. proceeded to spend the whole time chatting on the phone with a buddy while inspecting my car. spent a lot of time just talking on the phone, and the rest, just disinterestedly poking away at the car while completely distracted, at a snail's pace. Am I supposed to take the inspection report seriously? all I wanted was some peace of mind that my car was safe, but I still don't have that. even if he did a superb job, that is a very bad look. extremely unprofessional. Took 30 minutes, when it shouldn't have taken more than 10. spent far more effort trying to sell me services I didn't ask for, nor had time for. I came here because of the good reviews, and even first hand accounts of how good they were, but man, so very disappointed.

From the moment you walk in the door you know the service level is "Wow!". Ben offered a warm greeting and answered all of our questions regarding having our new tires installed. Dave was the technician tasked with completing the job, he displayed great attention to detail, inspecting each wheel for any pre-existing damage and verifying the tires we supplied were the correct fit before starting any work. Just like Ben, Dave was very pleasant to speak with and treated our vehicle with great respect. I was an Automotive Technician for 12 years before switching careers, its difficult for me to let someone else work on my vehicles, but I am at ease when I drop my vehicles off at Joyride Automotive!

My experience at joyride auto was a very great, which I didn’t think was possible when it comes to going to a mechanic. Little Dave (the mechanic) was very truthful and honest when it came down to what had to be done to fix my vehicle. He gave me his insight, and his opinions on what my best options were. When we made a decision, joyride was very quick to get me in, and also get my van fixed in a efficient manner. The price was very cost friendly, the cheapest I’ve ever seen in the city. Little Dave had my van back on the road lickity split, hassle free. 10/10 would recommend joyride automotive, no matter what part of Calgary you live in. 5 stars.

Bought a vehicle from the auction, i was extremely skeptical because you never know what you can get, so i called and they got me in right away..Joyride was extremely helpful and informative explaining where some issues could arrise, pricing out the parts, how to fix those parts and they even let me see underneath and explained what to look for, and on top of that one of the mechanica took my car for a test drive. My go-to automechanic! I live far SE Calgary and go out of my way to bring any issues with my Jeep Grand Cherokee to Joyride. Unlike the dealership mechanics that I've used in the past, Joyride has consistently been honest and cost competitive. They will charge exactly the time they take up using good rates and are transparent on any car issues as well as all the options I need to address them. Ben Chung, the owner of Joyride Automotive was an absolute pleasure to do business with. I was in desperate need of a quick repair of my work vehicle and he accommodated me when every other place I tried was weeks out. Even knowing I had nowhere else to go he was willing to help me that day and his rate was honest and less than I thought it would be. He is a young entrepreneur and a very honest and caring person. 10/10 mechanic service. Wow these guys are always willing to go above and beyond for the customer. Needed an oil change and tires done before leaving the city and they managed to get me in same day even though they were booked up. They did a thorough check on my car and made me feel good knowing my car was taken care of. Prices are really good considering. They also dont try and take advantage of people who dont know much about cars. Ian, Dave and Brian gave outstanding customer service and i would recommend to anyone looking for mechanical work on their vehicle!

I have already done a review for this shop but I’m so impressed I asked my wife to post this review on her profile. I’m no mechanic but know a decent amount on vehicles and often do a lot of work myself. I just have had bad experiences with other shops trying to do unnecessary repairs. So when I got another good honest report back from them I was so happy to not be playing games. I feel like me and the shop are working together to help me make a good decision on repairing my vehicles. I will for sure be bringing my personal/company vehicles back to this shop.

Not happy. Bought a set of used wheels from Ben. I was on my lunch break and didn't have time to put a vernier on them to measure the bore but he said they would fit my car. Said he'd give me my money back if they didn't fit. Well they didn't fit. Contacted him and he said giving me my money back wasn't fair to him. Then tried to sell me other wheels. So don't trust his word. Maybe he's a good mechanic, maybe his prices are great. Lots of good reviews on here but he went back on his word with me. Any kind of deal you make with him, get it in writing!

My Ford was leaking engine coolant and needed a tow to a dealership. I didn’t have a great experience at the dealership last time I went so I was looking for a new mechanic / shop to fix the issue. I was nervous going to a brand new place for the first time with such a serious issue but the Google reviews for Joyride reassured me. And they were certainly correct. They kept me informed throughout the process, provided honest pricing and had my vehicle fixed up in no time at all. I’ll be going to joyride for all my vehicle needs going forward!

These guys are great quick and done right , I was in the middle of doing a job when I found that I had a tire leaking and going flat. I brought the truck over and was met by Ben who was polite and professional and got the tire patched right away so that I can be back on the road working. I literally had a coffee and wrote this review and the work was done. If in your in the NW varsity area I highly recommend them I know. A good Autimotive mechanic is hard to find, look no more cause Joyride Automotive is all you need.

Went in not knowing why there was a random rumble/shake with my car. They were able to figure out that it was my engine mount. Got my engine mount and muffler changed. And on top of that my radio was glitching and he went above and beyond to find me a used one, drove to airdrie to pick it up himself. Radio works as though it were new and he saved me money from buying a new one. Incredible price for all that was done and was finished within a day and a half! Amazing service, & car has been working great since then.

That sealed the deal for me so I booked it in. Absolutely the best auto repair shop I have ever dealt with in my 58 years of driving in many parts of the world. I had extensive repair work done, extensive. Enough said, From the ownership, the mechanics and the service reps, first class, and very personable.

Professional, up front, punctual and fairly priced services. Ben performed emergency battery boost and checkup on short notice and inspected wear on serpentine belts upon request during the same service. Fairly quoted on belt replacement and did a punctual job on its replacement. He patiently listened to all the problems and recommended actions. He was upfront about the associated costs and did not force any services. Would definitely visit for further maintenance and repair.

Best experience ever dealing with a mechanic shop. My girlfriend and her parents have been going there for the last couple years and it’s been nothing but awesome positive experiences. I took a wheel bearing and hub I needed pressed together to them this morning and within two hours or less I had a call saying it was ready to be picked up. There was no runaround or BS they charged me a one hour flat rate. I freaking love these guys I will not go to another shop.

Great place to take your vehicle for checks and fixes. Not going to lie, tge very first time going to this place I was confused to where the entrance was, but its attached to a gas station, the entrance to the garage was inside the gas station. Dealt with Ben, very knowledgeable and honest guy. His team did a great job, helped my vehicle to get to a bearable driving state and recommended a few more fix up but didn't push it on me. Decent pricing.

Awesome place. The guy is very honest and professional. My car had leak of coolant and told me it will take 120$ to fix as it needed some part. After I came to pick my car, the owner told me that I don't need to pay as they did not have to use the new part. This thing touched me. Moreover he is knowledgeable mechanic.

yes they're good at general diagnosis but their rate for a basic sedan is $150/hr which is quite unreasonable, got charged $$ for simple jobs like installing tires which tires shop would easily do it for half, their quote for labour and parts are also always on the higher end, reluctant to answer questions too.
