"My first time ever having Ramen in a restaurant and I tried the “Tokyo Ramen”! It was so flavourful, the noodles tasted fresh and were glossy"
"The Japanese food is delicious! The meat is perfectly cooked & the rice is sticky (unlike normal rice)! Takoyaki was great too! The agedashi tofu is perfect & has the soft fried skin on the outside with the smoothness of the Tofu on the inside"
"I have been to several Japanese restaurants that offer Bento meals"
Great food. Been there several times over the last 3 years and it's very well overdue to provide a review. The food has always been great and staff is super polite. One can come in having a bad day but the staff's smile and attitude just turns everything around. The serves of food are generous but not over the top. Just right and value for money. The spice levels have always been as I chose. Mild was mild, medium was medium and hot was... what I deserved for thinking that I could cope I gave 3 Stars for atmosphere butvthis must not be construed as negative. It is not a fancy restaurant. It's a place where you go to have a feed and walk off. Most important though, the place is very clean and staff makes sure that there is no mess, dirt or ledt overs sitting on a table for too long Keep it up!

Japanese fast food... great service, Japanese waiters are always friendly and efficient. Menu is easy to understand, all food have picture on it. I love the spicy lever is rank from 10 , 100 , 1000 then 1 million ... I ordered 10 for my son for the Japanese curry. I would have given a 5 star, however the pork katsu was a let down, it was pre-fried and fried again when ordered, so the pork was very dry and the crust was hard. I do understand this is due to the need for fast food style, however, since the pork is already very thin , so prefried will make it super dry. Just a little comment, no offence to the chef. Anyway, great for a quickies haha... definitely there are room to improve for their food.
My first time ever having Ramen in a restaurant and I tried the “Tokyo Ramen”! It was so flavourful, the noodles tasted fresh and were glossy. It had seaweed, fishcake, piece of fried chicken and mushrooms! Will definitely come back and highly recommend. It was a very hole-in-wall kind of place but atmosphere was so comfortable and safe, perfect place to go!

The Japanese food is delicious! The meat is perfectly cooked & the rice is sticky (unlike normal rice)! Takoyaki was great too! The agedashi tofu is perfect & has the soft fried skin on the outside with the smoothness of the Tofu on the inside. Overall, love their food and have been coming back every once in awhile. The owner is from Tokyo and is also very friendly! Loved chatting with the owner & even talked about a famous Michelin Japanese Ramen Restaurant called Tsuta which has 3 outlets where I'm from (I'm not a local here btw)

I have been to several Japanese restaurants that offer Bento meals. But this one has less to offer in terms of Bento meal. Bento box for all I know is All in one Japanese lunch. This restaurant doesn't reflect this. Overpriced for the price tag of $18-$20. Food quality is pretty mediocre. I ordered the Yakiniku Bento. Again, Yakiniku in Japanese means grilled or barbecue. Well , this, by far, is the wrong incorrect way of Yakiniku. The Yakiniku beef that was presented was sauteed in oil, so it was very greasy and unpleasant to eat.

Best little gem in Brisbane CBD serving authentic Japanese everyday food. A very simple dine in restaurant but clean and organized :) Love their service when we came with 2 kids as they provided enough cutleries and kids bowls. The menu is pretty extensive and we loved the flavour so much! It did bring us back lots of memories to Japan :) Highly recommend their curry dish as it’s quite decent in size. Also love their bento boxes which you can choose from edamame to agedashi tofu or salad. For this price it is really hard to get something like this good in the Brisbane CBD!
Tried this place as it's one of the convenient places to eat around the business area near the botanical gardens. The dining area is quite small and it gets packed especially during lunch times. Most people take away because of this. I was lucky enough to be able to sit down during one of my lunch breaks and had ramen (garlic power ramen). There's minimal staff so it's pretty much table service for food delivery but self service for water and condiments. Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Value ⭐⭐⭐ Ambiance ⭐⭐ Seating ⭐⭐ Service ⭐⭐ Parking -none- Toilets -none- Washing station -none-
Really good fish curry and very filling. Edit 8 years later: Still amazing and the staff are super polite, quick, and considerate. One of the meals with my friends was incorrect, but they were very apologetic and rushed in a new order. It wasn't a big deal but they handled it like the world was ending. It was kind of like the old school Japanese idea of お客様は神様です (Customer is god). A bit unnecessary

I was lucky I got in before the rest of the lunch time crowd today as this place is always busy. A nice Japanese server took our order and the put the order on the microphone through to the kitchen. I loved the authenticity of that ordering system. Our food came out extremely quickly. The ramen and bento were pretty nice for something prepared in such a short period of time. There was a queue outside the door as I walked out. Nice and reasonably priced food served really quickly in a convenient location. What more could one ask for?
Everything I want from a good Japanese Karaage Chicken Curry! And the chilli they added (you can see it making a red island in the curry) was actually quite hot too! Only gripe was that, while everything was hot, it seemed like the karaage was not freshly fried but rather re-fried/re-cooked, but that probably fine at this price point. Defs the best Japanese curry I’ve had yet!

Chicken Katsu Curry, Karaage Chicken Curry
Price is not too bad as they are located in the CBD. I will give it 2.5 stars if google maps change the rating method. I ordered chicken karaage ramen and dumplings and my partner ordered fire ramen with 1,000 level spicy and curry rice with prawn. Karaage was tasty but just warm not hot enough. Ramen basically tasteless. Dumplings were really good and hot, however the skin was cooked too long so they were all became black. Curry was just okay and prawns were too tiny and thin so we felt we were just eating flour.
Been going to Kadoya for many years and always love their chicken karage don and curry! Humble, no-fuss Japanese eatery with friendly staff. It has been a hit and miss lately eg our take away karage curry don has only 3 pieces of chicken and the rest were chicken skin (see photos)

I had good experiences before buty latest visit was extremely disappointed - my Saturday lunch box. No wonder I was the only one here. It seems that they use cheap rice and the karaage was tasteless:( too bad. The lunch box came with no salt pepper or sauces at all. I got like 5 pieces of veggies but 1 was rotten to dark brown. 2 staffs were busy in chatting in Japanese LOUDLY. I will not come back again and won’t recommend this one anymore.

I ordered udon with chicken teriyaki, it tasted good! But not long after that, I had severe abdominal cramp and was vommiting + had diarrhea. My GP told me I have a gastroentrities. Now I realised that the chicken that was given to me was not fresh, some seems like cooked freshly, but several pieces were not so fresh.

I've been eating at Kadoya since high school times when it was still in Elizabeth Arcade, which was 20 years ago! The good times! Recently found it has moved to Mary street and I just had to try the 1 million spicy ramen! It was just the right amount of spiciness for me. So satisfying! Not as spicy as the new Korean fire noodle though. I don't visit the city as often now but will definitely return for their curries.
They must have changed owners because the food and service quality is so poor! No wonder it’s so quiet on a Saturday afternoon. I have been coming to Kadoya for over 5 years and the food has always been amazing. This is the last time that I will be visiting. Not worth the money at all

Service is really good and fast, food is slightly pricey but still reasonable because of the quality they have. I Bought takeaways, and they are organised in good looking boxes and bag. I ordered the deluxe beef terriyaki rice box. The food is very delicious, rice is cooked right, beef is tender and juicy. Really worth it for its price. Can't wait to have my next meal there again.
This place is great. Food is 10 out 10 if you like Japanese food. Service are very friendly. Food is quick. Food quality is fresh and excellent. Menu is extensive and may be a bit intimidating at first. I suggest a Delux bento. Very authentic. Lots of Japanese spoken. Lunch rush can see this place every busy. When you get take away you wait outside and the bring to the footpath.
My boyfriend and I arrived at the shop around 1:30pm on the 14th of October. We ordered a beef curry, a coke, a vegetarian tempura soba and a 2.99 (or 3.99) egg. However, the clerk did not serve us the egg and also did not give us a refund. We didn't see the egg or refund when we left the shop either. Heartbreaking service.

Kadoya has the best Japanese curry to offer in Brisbane! I miss Japanese curry so much and Kadoya is the closest in taste! Also I love the atmosphere of the restaurant it is such a comforting place to have authentic Japanese food when you miss it most!!! Also I love how you can customise the spice level and you can have Mayo on the chicken it’s always so delicious!!!!
In Brisbane for a short visit and, after seeing the ratings, decided to try this venue for a quick dinner. Unfortunately the chicken katsu donburi was quite soggy and not very appetising. The serving size, however, was quite generous. The staff were friendly despite being busy.

I went in the shop thinking it was more of a ramen shop but jokes, this is a Japanese restaurant. I know it’s in the name but...lol. Anyway, great ramen, very filling, it is a lot. The broth is rich, but not too much. No braised pork but karaage chicken instead. Noodles is good. Overall, very good ramen for the price. $12.90 AUD
Food is great. I hope the rice can be better a little bit. The meat choice that I had (chicken) was amazing, well marinated, and soft. Would come back to try more. Service is quick and nice.

Kadoya has been my go to for years, ever since my uni days! They never fail to amaze me with their tasty food! Their curries are the bomb, I ordered the tofu curry it was delicious, very tasty! Would recommend ! The food is cheap and worth it!! Friendly service, food came out quickly. Definitely will be back 10/10!
Went here last week. Really enjoyed the food. I'm a ramen convert now after having had a disappointing experience elsewhere. I'll be using Kadoya as a gold standard for quality Japanese food from now on. Highly recommend this place. It's small, but the staff are super friendly and again the food is fantastic.
This is what a $17.95 take away ramen looks like. Absolute rubbish and waste of money. 2 min noodles with some broth and a piece of chicken. Will never spend money here again.

Good tasting face, absolutely amazing value for money, the portion sizes were well above average for the cost. The food came in record breaking speeds, they're very fast and efficient for eating in and taking away. The only downside I would say is that it gets very noisy inside due to how busy they are
The pork Katsu with bad smell, over cooked and tough. EEL is not fresh too. We are very disappointed, cuz we saw many good ratings here before we came, service is under the standard, not impressed me at all, they even run out all hand wash liquids…
