A bus stand, also called a bus bay, or bus stance, is a designated parking location where a bus or coach waits out of service between scheduled public transport services. 'Bus stand' is also often an alternative name for specific bus stops inside a bus station. A bus stand are seen at different busy spots. Like school or college gates, markets, medical centres and the crossing point of two or more roads. A bus stand is usually employed to allow a bus to lay over at a bus terminus, without giving the appearance of being in service, or blocking the stop from use by other buses that are in service. Bus stands also allow short-term parking for driver changes or driver breaks. In the simplest case, a bus turnout type of bus stop is extended, and buses can lay over away from the stop if necessary. In locations where buses cannot remain stationary for long, nearby but separate bus stands may be provided where other bus parking is not conveniently located. Due to their public transport use, bus stands will often be specifically covered by local legislation. Parking of non-public service vehicles (PSVs) in bus stands may be prohibited. For pollution and fuel saving concerns, drivers may be required to switch their engines off if in a bus stand, as opposed to when stopped in a bus stop. In public bus and coach stations, buses will often be marshalled into specific parking slots, which act as stands where buses queue for an available slot at a departure point, such as in Victoria Coach Station in London. At the appropriate time, the bus can be moved the short distance to the stop, to begin boarding. Some jurisdictions have introduced particularised legislative controls to foster safer bus stop design and management. The State of Victoria, Australia, for example, has enacted a Bus Safety Act which contains performance-based duties of care[18] which apply to all industry participants who are in a position to influence the safety of bus operations - what is called the "chain of responsibility". The safety duties apply to all bus services, both commercial and non-commercial, and to all buses regardless of seating capacity. Breach of the duty is a serious criminal offence which carries a heavy penalty. The primary duty holder under the Bus Safety Act is the operator of the bus service, as the person who has effective responsibility and control over the whole operation.[19] However, the Act also contains a safety duty covering "people with responsibility for bus stops", including people who design, build, or maintain the stop, plus those who decide on its location.[20] This duty was introduced in response to research showing that the most serious hazard associated with bus travel occurs when passengers, especially children, are crossing the road after alighting from the bus. The location and layout of a bus stop is therefore a factor in the level of risk.[21] Safety duties are also imposed by the Bus Safety Act on a range of other people including - "bus safety workers" including drivers, schedulers who set bus timetables, and mechanics and testers who repair or assess vehicle safety[22] "procurers" - people who procure the bus service, known as the "customer" in the commercial charter sector.[23] All of these persons can clearly affect bus safety. They are required by the Bus Safety Act to ensure that, in carrying out their activities, they eliminate risks to health and safety if 'practicable' - or work to reduce those risks 'so far as is reasonably practicable'. This familiar practicability formula is borrowed from Victoria's Rail Safety Act (and a subsequent national model Rail Safety Bill) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.

Hi guys! Whats up! Here I m present u a busy place in our Dhaka City. It is actually located at the satrting place of Mayor MD. Habif Flyover, Dhaka. this place always busy and lots of people runing here and there. Most important thing, there are a few food cuts besides this place. Well know Known, kabab, Halim, Burger are availbale here.

Its a very important place for day to day life for those who is connected to dhaka city with narayanganj or others. It’s a starting point or ending point of Mayer Hanif flyover. For safety though there’s a FootOverBridge but several times accident occurred. There is also school, Madrasa, hospital, supermarket etc are available.

I don't know why I'm reviewing a bus stand. Just don't use this stoppage to go in Dhaka if you have other options. If you want to outside Dhaka, then it's not that bad. You'll find A few counters too. But if you want to use the stoppage to find bus to go in Dhaka, good luck finding a bus with a place for you to stand up there.

কাজলা বাস স্টেশন একটি অতি জনবহুল স্থান। এখান থেকে কোনাপারা, স্টাফ কোয়ার্টার, রাণী মহল, চিটাগাং রোড এই রুটে লেগুনা ও বাস সচারাচর পাওয়া যায়। এখান থেকে ডেমরা ব্রিজ হয়ে তারাব, বিশ্ব রোড, বরাব, রুপশী, বরপা, গাউসিয়া রুটের গ্লোরী পরিবহন ও আসিয়ান ট্রান্সপোর্ট বাস পাওয়া যায়।

সোনারগাঁও যেতে চাইলে এখান থেকে কুমিল্লা গামী যেকোনো বাস এ উঠা যায়, কিন্তু দূরপাল্লার বাস হওয়ায় ভাড়া বেশি, অপরপাশে গূলিস্তান গামী শাহবাহগামী ও মালিবাগগামী বাস পাএয়া যায়। তবে মালিবাগের বাস না পেলে যেকোনো বাসে যাত্রাবাড়ী এসে তারপর রাঈদা বা তুরাগে উঠা যেতে পারে।

এখানে এসে ঢাকায় ঢুকতে জ্যাম এ পড়েনা পড়ে না বাংলাদেশে এমন লোক পাওয়া খুবই দুস্কর। সার বছর এর ৩৬৫ দিন এখানে জ্যাম থাকে যার একমাত্র কারণ যেখানে-সেখানে যাত্রী উঠা-নামা ফ্লাইওভার এর নিচ দিয়ে যাওয়ার রাস্তা খুবই খারাপ আর BRTC এর দোতালা বাস এর সিন্ডিকেট তো আছেই

কয়েকদিন আগে ঘুরতে গিয়েছিলাম। আগেও গিয়েছি। সিলেট কিংবা চট্টগ্রাম এর দিক থেকে আসতে এদিক দিয়েই ঢাকায় ঢুকতে হয়। রাস্তার পাশে ময়লা থাকে প্রায় জায়গাতেই এগুলো পরিষ্কার হলে পরিবেশ এবং জায়গাটা খুব সুন্দর হতো।

this place is blessing. You can almost fly to Gulistan by the flyover, it takes almost 5 to 7 mins. And if you can reach Gulistan easily then you can connect any other part of Dhaka from there.

Starting & ending of Gulistan Flyover. There is a very high foot over-bridge now. So for adult, senior citizen & ill person taking rickshaw & go aroud might be a way out to crossover the road.
