Receptionist seem to have a strange chip on their shoulder any time I call. They have hung up on me more than once during phone calls and said it was an accident. Once? Maybe, but a few times and I'm seeing a trend. They have also let calls ring and ring as if they are too busy. They have one job and any time I'm there in the office waiting room, they don't seem to be very busy. Certainly not something where they can't answer the phone. I know my number shows up on caller id, so I can only wonder why they seem to avoid my calls. More importantly, I was very clear about forms I needed them to fill out for me on my next visit and they assured me they would fill out the forms I needed. Upon arriving, which was the last day for me to fill them out according to the required time allowed, they did a 180 and told me they can't. If I would've known that ahead of time, I could have gotten them filled out at another physicians office. So essentially, they lied and caused me to miss 2 weeks of work as a result. Are they going to cover two weeks of missed pay for me?? Doubt it...I can barely get them to answer the phone. The first visit with the nurse practitioner seemed nice. She seemed to care and really listen to me. The second? Not so much. She literally prescribed the exact same vitamins from the first visit like she forgot that she did. Since she didn't get a kick back from the pharmacy, I'm guessing she didn't even make a note of it. The same thing with every doctor i go to nowadays. They DO NOT CARE about what actually helps... all they care about is what they can legally bill you for. I've been saying this for years... Doctors are not caregivers. They are salesman for big Pharma. Their job is to make sure they are legally allowed to charge you for whatever they prescribe... this is why they try to prompt you with symptoms...."Are you feeling nauseous? Headaches??" If you answer yes, that fills out the criteria for what they need to prescribe whatever they are focusing on. They are NOT basing this off of your symptoms, they are LOOKING for products or medications that they want to promote. Christina Quach is very clearly doing this. Like I said, the first visit she softens you up and acts like she cares but the next time, it was like she was going for the jugular. She prescribed SEVERAL different things for multiple different reasons within only a 20 minute visit that she was literally waving me to leave with her hands. Like she couldn't get me out fast enough. But here's the bill along with screwing you over on the reason you wanted to visit and losing 2 weeks of pay and 5 other prescriptions for things you probably don't really need but it will be a nice Christmas for us if you decide to get them... I'll pass... and the medical board should do something about these kinds of physicians but they won't... they want to collect on it as well... If things weren't already bad enough, 6 months since my last visit and they did an "adjustment" on my bill and want to charge me more. I'm pretty sure this is illegal but then again, I'm forced to have insurance in California that I don't even use (because of doctors like this) and yet the IRS is charging me MORE for having this insurance than if I had just taken the penalty. I mean, who the heck wants to go to the doctor when they are like this anyways? I'm really tempted to just take the penalty for no insurance.

I am providing this rating based on the following: 1) Similar to other reviews, the receptionists were very unprofessional and rude especially Dora. I was hung up on and yelled at in regards to billing inquiries. They also lacked much information or knowledge about billing inquiries and coverage. They appear to be very disorganized which is a huge concern since it’s a medical practice. 2) Dr. Karen Kim did not even see me once since my first visit. She always had her nurse see me. Most doctors would at least stop by. It appears based on my experience and other reviews, Dr. Karen Kim does not care about her patients therefore I wouldn’t trust her as my doctor. 3) If you plan to use her as your doctor, make sure to work closely with your insurance. You can ask them to make sure this test is covered under your insurance or even ask them if it is, and if they say yes, still expect a bill to show up at your door. When you ask them about the bill they will act like they never told you it was included and that it’s solely the patients responsibility. Just for my first annual visit, I received a bill of $300. I had nothing fancy done and I’m covered under a good insurance plan. They informed me that it’s the patients responsibility to insure each item is covered. Way to put such a huge burden on the patient! I’ve seen many doctors that will alert you if something isn’t covered and make sure you are covered so you don’t pay out of pocket expenses. If you prefer a doctor that will put all the burden to make sure each test is covered on you, see Dr. Kare Kim and please expect a bill at your door after each visit or to be on the phone with your insurance walking through each item at your visit. 4) Also the receptionist did nothing to resolve the matter and they directed me to random people several times or my insurance who then directed me back to Dr. Karen Kim. My insurance agent even felt like her office scammed or “played” me. You live and you learn I guess. As such I agree with the other reviews that this office feels like a scam more than anything. I will never come here again and advise you don’t either unless you want a $300 bill at your door.

Initially had an ok first appointment in-person. Doctor seemed pretty checked out, but I got what I needed from her. What really irked me was the fact that they were unable to give me lab results/medical records by email or mail - I had to pick them up in person. I am not local and to visit their office, you have to pay for parking each time. I felt this was pretty unreasonable, but ok, it’s policy. I’ll come in person to get my medical records. Then later this year, I had some labs done, but when staff called me about the labs, they stated that the doctor wanted to discuss them with me either in-person or via a telemedicine appointment. I thought that was strange, but what was even stranger was the appointment would be in 2 months… so urgent, but not so urgent? Being a medical professional myself, I didn’t see anything obviously out of range on my labs except for one abnormality, so figured we would talk about that. On the day of the appointment, the doctor ASKS ME why I’m seeing her that day, which irked me some more. I also didn’t want to have my video camera on because I didn’t think it was necessary, so she makes a comment saying how this all could have been a phone call. Ummm YES, it could have, but I didn’t set up the appointment, you did? The final straw for me was having this doctor continuously speak over me during the appointment. I paid $30 copay for a 15 min “conversation” that could have essentially been a phone call. Needless to say, I will be changing my PCP. As a fellow healthcare provider myself, I am truly disappointed. And yes, their front staff is just as described in these negative comments. Please do better.

To start with, the pros: Christine Quach is amazing, which is why I'm giving them 3 stars instead of zero. She's wonderful, kind, and listens to you. I went in for a physical and was treated with care with regards to my concerns, and had nothing but pleasant interactions with the staff while I was there. I also had some bloodwork done, and got the results very quickly, which was great. Now, the con(s): Whatever receptionist was working today, October 26th, at 2:45 PST is honestly horrible. I called to get the results of my bloodwork and was told I should take 2000 MCG of D3, 1000 MCG of B12, and an Iron supplement. I hung up and started looking into some supplements, only to realize that 2000 MCG of D3 a day = 80,000 IUs a day, which is an insanely high amount. I figured I misheard so I called back to confirm the dosage, and was told, for a second time, 2000 MCG - I even explicitly said "2000 Micrograms a day? It's Micrograms?" to which she said "Yes" with an attitude. I googled some more and realized that absolutely couldn't be right. I called back a few minutes later and asked to set up some time with Christine Quach to discuss my results, to which the receptionist responded "Well what do you want to talk to her about? She said to take 2000 IUs a day of D3, 1000 MCG of B12...." And you get the point. Only on the 3rd time calling back did she tell me the correct units of D3 - IUs NOT MCGs...big difference. And she had such an attitude, like I was interrupting her day by making sure I don't overdose on D3 because of her negligence. Unreal. I never, ever write negative reviews, but this was not okay.

I'm joining the list here that the receptionist is incredibly rude. I wish I could rate based on the doctor herself, but the receptionist won't let anyone through apparently. I had an appointment scheduled and confirmed through my insurance app, but then received a strange email saying that they may be able to get my appointment in at a totally different time, and that they needed paperwork. I emailed back saying that time wouldn't work and the receptionist sent a bold red email about how I didn't send back my form - which, why would I do that unless I knew I had an appointment? Upon calling she kept accusing me of raising my voice, which as someone who works customer service phone lines, I am very aware of. While I sympathize with her inability to confirm appointments until she has paperwork, she wouldn't even tell me what was available at the moment. If you are hostile with a customer, they will be hostile back - it's customer service 101. If this is who is working at her front desk, I can't imagine how bad this doctor's bedside manner would be - and I can't imagine how this many people leave bad reviews/how many clients she's losing, and yet she hasn't replaced her. It's baffling and unprofessional. I really hope they gain some perspective and treat people with respect. In all honesty, I am glad I didn't book an appointment, I deserve a doctor who treats their clients with dignity, and so do you.

Horrendous! Office is dirty and incredibly poorly run. I tried to call to schedule an appointment and was sent to voice mail and the voice mail box was full. So I booked online and got a confirmation of the appointment. I got an email from the office with the intake paperwork which I printed and brought to the appointment. Once at the appointment I was told that appointment had been cancelled and that they had sent me a cancellation email. I had received no cancellation email. I asked why the appointment was cancelled, she said it was because I had not returned the intake paperwork. I don't send personal medical information through unencrypted email for one - its poor practice to even ask anyone to do that and illegal in California without patient consent. In addition, the email said nothing about returning the intake paperwork to have the appointment confirmed (mind you, I already had a confirmed appointment). On top of that the woman at the desk was snarky and incredibly rude. Save your time and money. I had low expectations going to this doctor given the review, however, my expectations were not set low enough. Heed the poor reviews. Keep looking

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. This is assembly line medicine at its best. I went in for a physical last week, and never even saw the doctor, forget actually be examined by her. All I got was the Nurse Practitioner (who actually seemed quite competent, but not a doctor). They won't discuss my results with me without scheduling a follow up appointment, again with the N.P.. So my entire physical (which i only do once a year) will take place without my ever seeing an actual doctor. Certainly not a good feeling. A nickel's worth of free advice for Dr. Kim: Why would I ever come back to you? How can i consider you my doctor if i've never even met you. And if i come back next year (or in 4 months), it would be like i'm coming for the first time. This is much less a doctor's office than it is a business. I tried to request a follow up appointment WITH the doctor and explain the situation, and the incredibly rude person on the phone dismissed me. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. PLENTY OF GOOD DOCTOR'S IN LA.

I’m not really sure what the negative reviews are for, but I think it’s possible they switched office staff recently? My PCP cancelled on me last minute, so I was looking for somewhere I could get in quick. Luckily Dr. Kim was open within the week to schedule my physical. The office staff were nice and helpful. You may have to call on arrival bc they sometimes have the lobby locked (I think it’s a COVID protocol), but they pick up right away. I saw Dr. Kim within 20 minutes of signing in and she was honestly the nicest doctor I’ve been to in some time! She went over all of my family history and seemed to really care. I’d had my blood pressure come back a little high with other doctors over the past year. Dr. Kim was the first to recheck it a few times and then gave me recommendations for keeping it lower. She addressed any concerns I had. I can’t speak about billing yet, as it all still has to go through insurance first, but all in all I’d definitely recommend!

  • Laura Shearer

Dr. Kim might as well be a scam artist and her receptionists rarely answer phones or return voicemails. I have never been treated in such an unprofessional way and wish there was a way to file complaints that the reception staff yelled at me over the phone and then hung up on me mid-call. If you require any regular prescriptions, such as birth control or routine antibiotics, Dr. Kim is a poor choice as her "personal policy" requires patients to come in for a checkup every three months or else she refuses to refill prescriptions, even in emergency situations. If you're out of town at the three month mark and need a one time exception, this will NOT be granted. I caution anyone to use Dr. Kim as a primary care doctor. Wait times at her clinic are also much higher than any I've ever seen before.

  • Rob Torres

I would rarely ever post anything to any type of review site but felt that there was a need just to warn other people about this office.… The doctor seem nice enough and we decided to get some blood work done, so she sent me off to another place to get it... I have many underlining symptoms and just would like to start feeling better… I put it off for a while since Covid and thought it would be time to get my healthcare back and track.… Unfortunately her and her staff just push everybody off on to others.… They really do not understand bedside manner or even a follow through of care.… I guess I will go And have to find a another practitioner… Very disappointed in this place… Don’t waste your time just go somewhere else off the bat.

  • Daniel Young

I have never been treated more poorly by a medical team. The receptionist is rude and unclear - they ignore calls and hang up routinely. If you're lucky enough to manage booking an appointment you will not ever see Dr. Karen Kim. After nearly a year there I'm honestly not sure if she exists. They don't have proper tracking of records and will do things like give you an injection and send you to get blood work, which of course throws off your blood work. And then are short, rude and again hang up when you have the gall to ask a question. Save yourself the frustration and see a different doctor (because you'll never actually see this one).

  • Bianca Harris

This office is awful. I’m finally pushed to leave a review. - don’t answer phones for days - once they do you are on hold for 20 mins - every single time they mess up my prescription being sent in (either incomplete or not at all) happened 5 times to me - Christina is a good Dr. But she should leave this office - front staff is so rude they act like you are asking a favor - they have charged me for services that my insurance FULLY covers - awful — truly get it together. People don’t want to come in when sick and deal with attitude problems and lack of compassion

  • Jina Hwang

The doctor is fine but the front desk staff is the WORST and is the most incompetent and lazy staff members of a doctors office I have ever met. Point blank, they dont want to do their jobs and when you make them even look something up in their system, you will get the biggest attitude and huge sigh like its the biggest chore. Even if the doctor is fine, the front desk staff will make you want to change PCPs which is what I will be doing. Its a shame for Dr. Kim because the front desk staff is definitely losing her business and making her look bad.

  • EJ Chi

I've tried to book an annual appt through this office TWICE. First time, they turned me away at the office because of scheduling issues??(after I took the day off, paid for parking, had confirmed appt). Most recently, I also took work off, but was emailed (no call) that they scheduled someone else on my appointment time so my appt was cancelled?? They asked me if I wanted to make another appointment, but honestly how am I supposed to trust a doctor with my health when they literally can't even be trusted to honor scheduled appointments

  • Shawna Hudson

Dr. Kim is knowledgeable, helpful, and the staff is efficient. However, out of the blue (after about 7 years of her being my primary care physician), I received a letter terminating her service as my doctor, saying she would no longer see me as a patient. I was devastated and wrote a letter to discuss why, figuring some sort of miscommunication happened. My letter was never answered, and I never received a call back when I tried to call and speak with Dr. Kim. I have moved on to another doctor, but this incident still haunts me.

  • Daphne Casuco

Set an appointment online with no issue. Just had to call back later and make sure it was confirmed. The office was also kind enough to send all the paper work that needed to be filled out ahead of time since I was a new patient; definitely cut down time on the process. In addition, I would get text and email reminders - which is helpful. Overall, I had a good experience. Also, I need to add that they did an amazing job on drawing blood! This is the first time ever it wasn't painful and no bruising was found after.

  • Mohammad Z Noori

After two times cancelations, we received a phone call from Dr. KAREN KIM's office told us you and your wife have appendment by Dr.Kim by 2:00 and 2:30 we lift from our location it took 35 minutes to drive to arrive after up there check-in a nurse come to see us we ask the doctor? She is not available. The nurse told only she comes on Wednesday only then front disk who booked the appointment she lye she told us only she could see you by medal of July all was scam please call before get up there

  • El Ulabarri

I've been seeing Dr. Christine Quach for a couple of years now and I couldn't ask for a better primary care physician. She's got great bedside manners, caring and impeccably organized, thorough with follow ups and discussions about my well being. She's not one of those doctors where they'll take care of only one thing and leave the rest for another visit. I drive from the valley during high traffic hours bc it's really hard to find quality care.

  • Bill Parker

Would never normally be compelled to leave a review for a doctor, but people must be warned. The receptionist here is disrespectful/inattentive to the point of near malpractice. Getting hung up on if you give the "wrong" answers about scheduling, screwing up prescription orders, refusing to set appointments... this is a regular Monday afternoon for this practice. If you're looking for a General Practitioner, KEEP LOOKING!

  • Monica Guevara

Why is your phone not working??? I call and get a Verizon message about how you don’t have service. Did y’all forget to put the phone bill? I can’t make an appointment if I can’t get in touch with you. Should I send snail mail? A courier pigeon?? Update: the phone system works again but there’s no real answers to be had from the gatekeepers who make you feel like you’re wasting their time.

  • A T

What an amazing doctor. She was absolutely marvelous. I wish every American doctor would be her. She was very polite articulate kind, and very understanding. I would highly recommend visiting her. She got the problem in 4secs in entering into her office even though I’m not a huge fan of the receptionist in the whole booking system. I do admire her a lot I would definitely come back again.

  • Mike L

I went to Dr. Kim even after reading all of the negative reviews, and in my opinion, those negative reviews are unwarranted. I had a great experience with Dr. Kim, and her phlebotomist Vanessa was exceptional. No trace of any needle having been put in me. I'm shocked. The receptionist Imelda was great also, so I don't understand all the bad reviews. I had an awesome physical with Dr. Kim!

  • Jacob varley

DANGER. DANGER. DANGER. DANGER The doctor did not check for even basic things, so when we switched to another doctor, the lab results were VERY bad because this practice didn't even check. You will put your life at risk by coming here. RECEPTIONIST RUN FROM THIS PLACE! My wife's Np left this place and now we know why!

  • erica steen

Please do not go to that office. The front office staff is horrible. Everyone in that office promotes hostility, abuse and no compassion to the patients… The front immature staff is rude and disrespectful. Do not go to that office. The providers and staff want to see patients die.

  • The Divine Order of Universal Truth

Front office staff very unhelpful and lacked any sort of care. Scheduled an appointment with DOCTOR Kim and instead was handed off to a nurse partitioner without any notice or mention. Long wait and unresponsive. do not trust their practice at this point

  • Denise Mendoza

Dr. Kim was amazing! I really felt like she was listening to me and paid attention to everything I had to say. I was very comfortable with her and the staff was very nice and helpful too!!! I feel confident coming back here again for anything else! :)

  • Bessi Nieva

Disgusting and unprofessional receptionists! Do not know how to make an appointment and communicate. Have never been so disrespectful by medical staff over the phone and seems like I have to beg for an appointment when I pay for insurance.

  • Paul

Dr Karen Kim is never here and the nurse who sees you writes all referrals. Front desk staff is the worst and needs to be replaced asap. They will talk to you with a negative tone of voice or with some attitude. Would not recommend here.

  • Tony Morquecho

The receptionist very rude and unclear an unprofessional very disappointed in this place dr Kim she is been my doctor for 10 years n I haven't seen her for 7 years so sad I work in a hospital to n we don't treat patients like them ..

  • Asher

Great doctor, horrible front desk. I really feel for doctors with receptionists who don't care about patients. It's fairly common and doesn't reflect the level of care you get once you are able to get through the "surly gates."

  • C L

Love Dr. Kim, she's so friendly and attentive, office is clean and welcoming. The front desk staff were completely replaced because some patients including myself have complained about them. She really cares and listens!

  • Eric Oh

DO NOT RECOMMEND this doctor’s office!! Frontdesk staff are rude and irresponsible. They do not know how to properly work at a healthcare setting office.. all they care about is their lunch shift and rushing patients.

  • Katie Seabrook

Communication is important when it comes to heath care providers and the lack of responses and the fact that their phone system does not appear to be working leaves me with this 1 star review.

  • Taylor Vandegrift

I generally don't post poor reviews, but I now understand why this office has 2.5 stars. Incredibly unprofessional front office staff and overall terrible experience. Finding another GP asap.

  • raj pathor

I don’t want give any star to this office The receptionist is lazy and rude she will pay back karma . I was in pain she hug up my phone 2 time …

  • Brandi Donne Forti

I have been going to this doctor's office for a couple of years, but I am going to switch to another doctor, because the receptionist is extremely RUDE!

  • Meghann Plunkett

Receptionist hung up on me and wouldn't give me the info I needed to make an appointment, so I decided to go to another doctor. Really poor service.

  • Bano G

Words cannot express my gratitude for this individual. The office is very well maintained and always the cleanest it can be.

  • Golden Sol

Deeply kind. Very careful and respectful. I have been her patient for 11 years. She is wonderful. Highly recommend.
