I left my car to be detailed. While waiting for it to be done, I received a phone call telling me one of the UHaul vehicles they lease had hit and damaged my car. I was told it had nothing to do with them (they own the uhaul franchise there and run it from the garage - they also have insurance for when these things occur) and my being hit was no different than if my car got hit in a mall parking lot (I was properly parked on their lot at the time.) I had to repeatedly return to the garage asking for more information including their insurance numbers. I had to phone the police and report the accident. I had to chase after several different insurance people, and find an insurance manager to finally get any assistance. I had to find three places for repair estimates. Ultimately my car was repaired but even that was a hassle because I had to pay the very expensive repair upfront and then get a reimbursement cheque afterwards. I found the customer service was abysmal. I had to keep returning to the shop and felt I was somehow at fault because it was repeatedly, and not sympathetically, said that it was not their fault or problem. The entire situation was ridiculous. To top it off, I found the interior of my car was not professionally cleaned. I pointed out marks on my dashboard and smudges on my windshield. The owner’s son, I believe, did clean the dirty marks off when I pointed them out - BUT I had to point them out (I was not being picky - there were spots, from my dog barking, on the dash and required a bit of elbow grease to remove them). I was disappointed with the detailing work and dismayed with returning to a car that required thousands of dollars worth of repair needing done. The icing on the cake was having to pay for the service - and not receiving, at the VERY least, a complimentary detailing for the future. Obviously, not receiving a sincere apology from management or the person with whom I dealt, spoke volumes. (After having dealt with the company repeatedly, I did receive one phone call from a man who was the unofficial manager. He was lovely. He was compassionate and promised to help me and have the owner phone me. He was the only reasonable person I dealt with during the entire nightmare.) I dropped my car off to have my car detailed. I returned to a vehicle that was sub par and with thousands of dollars of damage. I will not be returning. (An apology for the inconvenience - hmmmm. The police officer to whom I reported the accident did not share the opinion that my parking in their private lot was akin to that of a shopping mall. Despite being told the uhaul driver’s information and told to go after her, it was UHAUL’s insurance that eventually paid me.)

very odd place. first of all they have what appears to be an entire lot to park cars in. and the car that my inspection was done on was done on the street. in my report that i got back it says the power steering is leaking and that all the lines are basically done, and then on the top where it has an over view of "items checked" it says steering: "good" secondly they stated that the vehicle was an 88 not a 91 which it was reffered to as. and after doing numerous checks it is a 91. and they then stated the differential oil had never been checked. when the fellow who im buying the vehicle off of changed the diff oil less then a year ago. front brakes were good but back brakes were poor. but the back brakes were done less then a year ago, both pads and rotors. All in all they stated that it did not pass inspection, however they did not list what had to be done in order for it to pass inspection. I called the day before asking what time the vehicle would be done by, and they say and i quote if it is dropped off in the morning it should be done by 11, needless to say it was done at 6. I work in customer service and i like to give tips and acknowledge when people have done a good job. i should have looked at all the reviews before taking my car there. i am deffinately going back tomorrow and demanding my money back. bob or who ever you are that owns this dump you should seriously take a look online and see what people have to say about your store.

Went here about a year and a half ago when my driver's side mirror got knocked off of my Honda Element. I already knew I could pick up a replacement mirror from salvage for maybe $80 but for convenience purposes I thought I'd check with a mechanic about getting it done. They quoted me something like $300 for the mirror and $175 for labour to fix it, saying that "the entire side panel needs to be pulled off, it's fairly difficult" etc etc. as if I was some kind of idiot. I guess that's what you get for going to an auto shop as a young blonde girl? I told them I was a student and very tight on money, and asked if there was any way I could get the part myself and have them install it, and the man insisted quite vehemently that no, there was no way to procure the part except through a shop, and tried to discourage me, without me saying anything, from attempting the repairs myself or having a friend attempt them. So I went to salvage, bought a new power mirror for $80, and looked up how to do it myself online--oh hey, you just pry off a tiny plastic panel with your bare hands and unscrew 3 bolts. So they tried to stick me for a full 40 hours worth of work at my part-time job for something a child could do, despite knowing I couldn't afford it. Do not recommend.

They are great for u haul renting and drop offs but i once took my car for a tire puncture repair couple months ago. They said air valve is leaky so i paid and got the new one from them they kept the vehicle for whole day for a small change and gave it to me in the evening. 2 days later tire was flat. Went back and they said there is glass piece in tire need to replace whole tire. Fine paid 250 got the new tire. Today the same wheel started making rough sound of two rusted plate rubbing on each other. Luckily family was here so they opened the wheel and found 1 break pad was completely worn out like flat and rest of them still had life of a year. Also for that particular wheel all the screws were replaced while other wheels still have original screws and in much better condition. Not sure if I was scammed but if they say same story to you then just be aware. I could be wrong too but there are too many coincidences. Update: although i had many issues with my tire but i did update my reviews from 1 to 4 star as i understand it could be damaging to the business. Although i had issues but their repair was up to the mark and the new tire is working good so far.

Please don't go there!! Don't waste your money and time..there's a lots of professional company out there who values your bsuiness rather than this unprofessional place. I would not recommend Kensington uhaul or any services that they offer.The owner and his wife are very disorganized, rude, obnoxious and extremely belligrent..terrible terrible terrible...the extremely disappointing from start to end. Even we booked on line it took so long to pick up a vehicle, gas wasn't full as they said. They didn't explain the totall bill when we returned the vehicle. So when we asked for receipt they shouted at us and say it will just email to you and we don't explain !!!...Later that day we found out that they charged two times and charged more feel this place is out to rip you off!!.they are only there to take your money without service...Owner and his wife are definitely lacking the customer sercives competence and ability to keep their promises. Don't waste your money and time, there's a lots of professional company out there who values your bsuiness rather than this unprofessional place. We will never go there or recommend to anyone that location!!!!!!

I have been going to this place since 2006 and they have always been very caring, professional and friendly. For example, back a couple years ago I was on my way to BC and I stopped by for a general check up before I left. Bob and his team were able to identify about $2500 worth of repairs from 3 different very important areas that would it cost us a lot more money if our car broke on the highway. Instead of just doing the work and billing me for it (As I was running late for our trip, I requested to fix anything broken to ensure the safety of my family and my trip and then just to bill me after), they strongly suggested that I should bring the car to my dealership and to get it fix there as my car was under warranty. That to me is exceptional customer service. Why? Because they helped me save a lot of money and they were honest about it. Despite the reviews below, I will always keep going to Kensington Auto for all my needs before I go elsewhere. Thank You Bob & Team for taking exceptional care of us and our vehicle needs.

Been going to this place past couple of years for everything from seasonal tire replacement oil changes and car repairs and can only say good things about them. They are always courteous stick to their quotes and never try to up sell you for services your car probably does not need at the moment but still take the time to mention it might be something you should consider in the future for the health of your vehicle. If you have questions they take time to explain in easily understandable terms. No pressure whatsoever. Their prices are very competitive. Special shoutout to David who is a consummate mechanic and all around professional. This place has my my business for life. I have read a couple of gripes about the front staff. People need to understand when you visit a garage you are not visiting a health spa with new age music in the background. You are there because your car is in trouble so keep things in perspective haha!

My battery died in my 2011 Mitsubishi outlander today, and being unemployed every cent counts. I live on 14 ST and Kensington so there are a few atuo places around, notably a Napa auto repair place literally 1 min from my house. I called and explained i was looking for a battery and they said they would not sell me one, only book me an appointment to get it changed ?>> its 4 nuts to change a battery...... i asked if they would make an exception. no. I called Kensington Auto, and talked to two polite people, walked there to buy my new battery and walk home. And not only where they helpful, but the fella gave me a ride home! because it was super cold and snowy out. They where polite, helpful and went out of there way to give me a ride, free of charge. thats worth something. thanks to the team at Kensington Auto & Car wash!!!

I have used these guys before and they're always professional and provide quality service. This visit was different. Last November I noticed my engine leaking oil, took it to another garage and had it diagnosed as a "rear main seal" leak. The repair would cost $1200-1400. I left it alone because covid and I wasn't really driving much. When I started working again I called David and over the phone he was able to pick up on what I was driving and suggested a different potential cause. He had me take it in so he could confirm his suspicion. Turns out my Jeep's V6 has an issue where an oil cooling module leaks and spits oil. He saved me close to $600, got me in quickly, and, as always, provided excellent service. 10/10 would recommend.

I'm giving a 1 star review because of the lack of customer service I received while making a phone call. It's Saturday night and I realize they are closed, but I figured I would call and just leave a message for someone to call me back when they're open. I was surprised someone had picked up and said they are open tomorrow morning to finish some work and then the rest of the stuff gets done Monday. I TRIED to explain I just needed to leave a message but before I even got half way through, the guy interrupted and told me they're done for the night and just hung up on me! Well, I'm not ever calling back and I'm NEVER recommending this place.Don't pick up the phone if you're just going to hang up on the customer!

These guys are the best at what they do! The techs are first class. I had a no start car. I contacted Kensington Automotive and they let me tow the car to the shop. At this time of year, they’re extremely busy. But they still took great care to explain to me what the timeline would be like. I had no choice but to wait for them to squeeze me in. The next day, I heard that they had been able to diagnose the problem. But it would still take another day to have the schedule to actually do the work. The communication was great throughout. The price was fair. The work that was done was phenomenal! Thank you David, Steve and staff for looking after me and my ride. I’ll be back for sure!

Very professionally run. A good team of mechanics and the manager does a very good job. I would take my vehicle back for sure. They did a great job under difficult frigid weather conditions outside - causing a lot of cars to break down and causing logistical issues like how to keep cars that they are working on from freezing overnight. They handled all the logistics of the difficult weather conditions extremely competently. I also felt that I received full value for the dollars that I spent. I started taking my vehicle to Kensington Auto after my warranty expired with the Dealership. I really appreciate Kensington Auto's 'no upsell' policy. For example, when I ask them to check my brakes, they don't insist on doing a brake job 'today'. They actually tell me how much is left and give me an estimated timeline as to when the brakes will 'really' need the work done. When I take it in for an oil change, I don't get the 'predictable' phone call with several other items suddenly needing work. That's refreshing and appreciated from the pressure some Dealership's Service Centre's apply.

The u-haul truck was sparkling clean inside, outside, and the trunk. The checking in and out was very quick and simple. The car was mechanically very well and in great shape. The shop owner was quick and professional and even gave me a one hour extension because I arrived late to my appointment. The only inconvenience was that he didnt highlight to me that the truck's speedometer is 1ry in miles and 2ry in km. I think I hit a couple of play ground zones on 30 miles thinking it's 30 km before I realized it's actually miles. Other than that, it was a very convenient and helpful experience.

I highly recommend Kensington Auto for all your automotive repairs. They have consistently been thorough with all the work they have done for me. I really like their customer service and their honesty. If they can fix it they will, if they think it needs to be replaced they will call and discuss your options. No surprise costs. Saved me a bunch of money once by assessing the work and then recommended that I take it to a dealership because the job might still be under warranty, and it was. Repaired by dealership for free. I have only had good experiences with Kensington Auto. I have two 15 year old plus cars, every time we need work done, after inspection, the mechanic is very upfront and tells us what he would do in our situation. They have never once pushed more work than necessary and always give a recommendation based on what they would do personally if they were in the situation. I never worry about overpaying, they will fix exactly what is required by the most cost effective means. If other things are wrong they will give suggestions and timelines.

They will run diagnostics on your car even when they know nothing is wrong with the car. Gang up on you when you ask how it could cost 120 dollars when nothing was wrong with the car. Totally dishonest and complete cheats. Just out for a quick buck. I had to give one star at the lowest rating. They are not even deserving of this star

Please don't go there even one step in. I left my car just for changing tire, then what, I got 605 boxes charge just for two tires and even worse. They touched inside of engine which makes now weird sound they said it is because your car is old. I never did hear that sound but just after this cheating shop. They wanted me to come again for fixing because they think i am easy to be charged.They ask prove why that sound was by them. Isn't this funny? I am going to hire lawer sue them. They just cheater.

My husband works at a dealership and I have still chosen to bring my vehicles here for the past 6 or so years. I absolutely trust David and his team and appreciate how accommodating they have always been to my schedule. They do quality work for fair prices and I won't go anywhere else. I also liked the convenience of renting U-haul trucks from this location to move furniture and set pieces for my job every year before covid hit. Customer service is likewise excellent.

They researched a repair for hours before coming to us with a solution. Refurbish a headlight to new! Polished out two rear fender rubs as I had a few encounters with downtown parkades….I feel so lucky to have this garage in the neighbourhood!

Hate this place. We (6 of us) work just across the road and collectively have been there 4/5 times. Everytime we have been quoted, charged more and generally been left with a bad taste in our mouths. Feel this place is out to 'rip you off' and their customer service is none existent, with a very obnoxious owner. Love their petrol price on Wed and weekend otherwise none of us would ever grace the place again. . .

From our annual tire swaps, to basic maintenance and repair, to (most recently) a car detail job, they do excellent, timely work, at competitive rates. The detail job they did on my car was incredible - took a 10 year old car and made it literally look (and smell!) new again! Would happily recommend this garage to anyone!

I went in for an oil change and a full inspection. They were thorough and professional. I told them that the car makes a squealing sound when I turn on the heat and that I thought the serpentine belt needed replacing. They really took their time to diagnose it properly before doing repairs even though they couldn't replicate the sound right away. I wasn't overcharged or convinced to do anything unnecessary.

Had an appointment for 10am. Agent on the phone said it takes about 2 hours. We go back after 2 hours and they haven't even touched our car. Then they proceed to tell me we usually have to leave the car there for the day. Gee maybe you should mention that over the PHONE when I'm making my appointment? Or when I drop off my car? You know.. just in case we didn't know! Bad service. Never going back.

Rented a uhaul from here, the uhaul broke down after everything was loaded in it. Was on hold with the shop for 10 min before they offered zero help. What should have been a 2 hour move ended up taking the entire day. On returning the uhaul there was only one employee working who had to lock u land leave the shop to help someone else where while we waited with a baby and toddler.

Recently, my BMW air-conditioning system became contaminated. (Long story, btw, do not ever mix chemicals in your AC system. ) My regular BMW shop was not able to help, they were too fancy to mess with contaminants. Kensington got the job done the next day at a reasonable price and little fuss. I am sure I will be in touch with them when next I need some work done.

Got an out of province inspection here. Could easily book for the next day by phone. Dropped the car in the morning and it was ready to pick up in 3 hours. All items passed with no problem. Everything went smooth and they did all the necessary paper works before I got there. The total cost was $194 (tax included). I would recomment this place for OOP inspections.

I have been looking for a reputable company to take my brand new Honda for all its maintenance. Not only is Kensington Auto reputable, they are warranty approved. They have outstanding customer service unlike any auto maintenance company, which is greatly appreciated. Don’t waste your time going to quick lube places or the dealership, Kensington Auto is the best!

Excellent service at Kensington Auto! The staff went above and beyond when my battery died at the gas pump. They tested, diagnosed and replaced it within 20 minutes. No pressure sales and even offered assistance to procure a reimbursement from Honda. The phenomenal staff were exceptionally helpful. I highly recommend this shop as an extremely satisfied customer.

The service was good enough, however I found that when I called to check up on my car the lady who I spoke with was very abrupt and not overly friendly. As well, when I picked my car up and had inquiries about the inspection I felt very rushed and got the vibe they just wanted me to leave. Overall the service was fine but I don’t think I would return.

We had a suspension component fail on our vehicle and the guys at Kensington Auto were able to get it repaired in a reasonable time frame given their bookings for winter tire installation. We've used this shop a couple of times now and I always feel like they fix only what needs fixing, which is always a good feeling. We'll continue supporting them!

they told us we needed to change our brakes. In reality they could not get my Jeeps tires off to even check them. We have the records of receipts, it was booked through Groupon. The kids also over tighten with a impact. My boyfriend bent his star wrench trying to get the lug nuts off. I do appreciate them wanting to resolve it. Boyfriend does not.

I thought I would support this local shop to wire my Volvo for a hitch and they screwed it up. They would not return my payment when it didn't work on the hitch I rented nor when I had the work redone at the Hitch Shop. They simply lied when I asked for clarification/explanation. I suggest any and all who read this to avoid this shop!

I had some problems on my second visit, so I posted a bad review . The next day I received a call from Dave asking for a chance to make it right. I obliged and booked an appointment. They replaced my brakes, repaired my tire and knocked 15% off the bill. I will be using them again and I'm sure there star rating will improve for me.

David and his Team at Kensington Auto are professionals. They fix what you need in a timely cost efficient manner. I went to a dealership a few years ago to get a service done on my vehicle and they quoted me $9000! I went to Kensington Auto for a second opinion and it was 1/3 the price. I’ve never gone anywhere else since.

Hitch repair: I had a bike rack stuck in my hitch for ++ years. I took it to multiple places in which no one was able to help me. Finally, the staff at Kensington Auto had the tools and skills to remove the bike rack without damage to the hitch/vehicle.

Did a great job. Super clean, was really happy with the service and price. Some of the reviews said the smell of the cleaning supplies wasn't great, but I didn't mind it. It went away after one drive with an open window and was fresh smelling.
