My daughter is completing her 2nd year in the academic center. I could not be more pleased with her academic and personal growth. Her teachers have been phenomenal, providing thought provoking assignments that not only prepare her for college (in the 7th and 8th grade), but have helped foster a sense of social conscience. I have a BS in Biological Engineering from the University of Maryland and completed medical school and a surgical residency at Rush; yet, I'm amazed at the caliber of work my daughter is assigned. Kenwood is preparing her to be a successful and compassionate leader.

This is a really good school, I'm currently in 8th grade there. But for the past few weeks I've been going to the main building/Kenwood to get breakfast or go to the library in the morning, I try to leave out of door 1 and the security guard there tells me to go out door 3, but then the security guard there says I we can't go out door 3 and have to go upstairs. These security guards need some coordination. But overall it's a good school.

As a current academic center student, I've got to say, best school for academic center. Many people says that it is in fact a African American school and staff only cares about blacks, surely That is not true. I am in fact an Asian, I go there, no criticism for me. I hang around with high schoolers and hs staff, they were never mean or racist, definitely a great school

Its a charter school..a.k.a. no regulations of public taxpayering dollars, under the radar of regulations which means super cheatingon test scores to boost their egos, and finally preying on the ignorance of ghetto folks looking for ways to protect their children. Which is all great, but Arne Duncan, Obama are in it for themselves...Sell outs

My grandma worked here for more than 20 years but then her health started slow down in the summer then she passed away November 24, 2018 her name was Vanessa Weatherspoon she helped other kids when they made a mess and she cleaned it up and this place is amazing i cant come back cause it is going to bring back memories

Principal needs to answer emails from parents. She does NOT respond at all to inquiries. Assistant principal Miller needs stop bullying tactics. Principal needs to ensure physical education instructions is taking place. I can guarantee it is not talking place third period. Students are basically on their own.

I'm the Yale-educated parent of an an incoming freshman who also went to Kenwood for middle school. She previously attended a private elementary school. We made the choice to send her to Kenwood despite the vague concern of some neighbors.

I would say that it's a good school, i mean i haven't went there yet but im going when i get in high school, but my auntie says that it was fun for her and she said she thinks it would be fun for me too and i also think so.

I went there 2002-2003 I have bad memories but mainly when I think of the time I was there I have good memories. I kinda wish I was there for all my high school years. Miss the memories and the experiences good and bad.

Happily a gradurate of 2013. Best english department in the world. Ms.Sales is a great teacher because she throughly breaks down grammar and writing. All classrooms have reasonable debates.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. If a child wants to learn and get a good education, Kenwood H.S. Is an excellent learning institution. Dr. Jones is a excellent principal.

I am in 7th grade and I am interested in going here for high school. My father also went here and his name is Joseph Cooper class of 1990 ( I think).

Really love this place, went to the high school fair this past weekend and plan on having my 8th grader attend there next year

I go to Canter Middle School (still Kenwood) and it's good. I like being in the Concert Choir and I get a good education.

Good for the most part, the librarians kick you out for no reason and please, for the love of bread, don’t take piano.
