We chose Kerbey Lane for a nice Father's Day breakfast & hoped it would be a great experience. We arrived, gave the host our info to reserve a table and were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait, they'd text us to let us know when it was ready. 35 minutes later I notice everyone arriving after us with similar party size is being sat. I inquire with the host and he says "Oh yeah your table was up a long time ago. Well, you'll be next. We texted you and called you" I verified the phone number we had and we received didn't received a phone call or text. Lie number 1. No big deal. By this time my baby and toddler are very restless. 10 minutes later they sit us on the patio, at a table that is being scorched by the sun. We place our order around 9am and wait...and wait...and wait. Around 9:45ask our waiter to check on our food. Then around 10 we inquire with the manager, Riley, seemed to care less that we've been waiting for an hour. We asked what time our order was placed and they said 9:05, then retracted and said no actually 9:30z We asked if we could just get our food to go, and the entire management team actually laughed at the situation. Zero management skills to de-escalate the situation and has no solutions to offer. Zero. So we left. And that is how Kerbey Lane has ruined Fathers Day. I have 4 hangry kids, a frustrated husband, and a bunch of grumpy memories of this place. It's ran by kids who could care less about customer service. You can keep your crusty pancakes. It was the worst experience ever. I'm not one to write reviews but if I can save one family from having this experience then I'd like to.

This has been in my list of breakfast spots for a while and so glad we visited it last weekend. It's a great place for American breakfast and some dishes that have Mexican spices fused in. I ordered Chicken Benedict which was listed under one of their specialties. It's basically chicken and poached eggs over biscuits, with hollandaise sauce over. Totally loved my dish! The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and tasty. The biscuits were of the right consistency too. Not too hard nor too soft and the sauce was just lip smacking good!! Rating-5⭐️ for taste and fullness 2nd dish we ordered was California omelet was was not bad, it was a good omelet but I didn't find it wow. Found it a little bland for my palate but if you are someone who likes subtle taste, you can give this a try with some salt and pepper. Rating - 4⭐️ for taste and 3.5⭐️ for fullness 3rd- pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs- this is a classic dish that cannot go wrong. Bacon was crispy, pancakes were soft and fluffy and my fav was the sausage patty here. This dish came with a side of fresh fruits. Rating- 5⭐️ for taste and fullness Overall favorite - Crispy chicken Benedict♡ They also have some freshly squeezed orange juice. Ps. Wait time to get seated- 1hour so plan accordingly

I liked this Kerbey Lane. Our server for the night was Jen, and she was very attentive, energetic, and nice. She seemed super busy but she did a great job. I liked the wall art and the lighting of this kerbey lane. The designs were cool and it seemed like a hip and nicer version of IHOP. It seemed pretty packed when we went at 11pm and I started to see more come as we ate. I want to make mention that I really liked the host Donald. He greeted us pleasently with a smile and thanked us as we left, and a of places do not do that. I like the feeling of knowing our business is appreciated here. Now for the things i didnt like so much. I apologize in advance but I am picky with breakfast and I take the blame for this for not asking, but I wish the bacon was more crispy, the cheese was more melted, and that the flour tortilla was cooked crispy. I also wish they had more variety of teas from local vendors but I understand not many like hot tea. I picked chamomile and mint which wasn't bad and I'd proably order again. Add honey to it though if you like sweet things. I will say though if anything try the Kerbey queso. It is awesome and I'm sure you will like it. Overall as goes with the Kerbey Lanes I've been to I would recommend giving it a try. They are open 24 hours and do include vehan options as well.

This place is a hotspot for locals to grab some breakfast and lunch. The wait times associated with getting a seat for a large group is significant. I would suggest going in smaller groups or planning ahead for more time. We were seated outside to accommodate the large group. This did not alleviate us from the heat of the day, but did afford us some shade. The staff was friendly and accommodating. You can tell that they were busy but they were trying to make sure everything was taken care of. There was a various assortment of foods ordered to include breakfast and lunch dishes. Unfortunately due to us visiting I did not take any photos of the food but can say the food was pretty good. Some of the food did come out cold and had to be taken back to get reheated. They did so without any issues. I had the egg white omelette which was similar to a Mediterranean type omelette. everybody’s orders came out correct and nobody really complained of anything besides the temperature of the food. If you have enough time, I would suggest trying it out. They have a wide assortment of foods, so somebody should be able to find something they like.

Hi Y'all... I'm sooooio happy to have decided on giving Kerby Lane on William Cannon a try this morning, I have dine @ the Guadalupe St location several times, but the (William Cannon) location takes the Win for sure... Madison is the BOMB, she's the most attentive, courteous and sweet server I've meet, and boi she knows her trade... These guys were having some HEAVY traffic for breakfast & Madison held her own... Oh, did I mention my food was scrumptious? Well, I shall repeat it, my food was scrumptious... ... Y'all take care and don't forget to stop by Kerby Lane (William Cannon) in the near future... Enjoy!

Make sure to arrive early where Kerbey Lane Cafe is still a very popular place to eat. When my wife and I arrived there was already a wait to sit down. Luckily since it was just the two of us we waited about 20 minutes. They were even asking some if they wanted to sit outside in the 100 degree heat where I saw only two take the challenge. Its a very casual hangout where the food is good. I have not eaten at this location in a while where mostly dined at the Mueller location. It is not as fancy as that place but still delivers. I ordered the Summer Chicken with a Hibiscus Mint Tea. It was a full meal with lightly breaded all natural chicken breast covered in their homemade roasted red bell pepper tomato sauce as their seasonal menu explained. The sides were bacon cheddar mashed potatoes & garlicky steamed broccoli where all were presented well. With all this explanations the chicken tasted pretty darn well where it had a nice flavor. It was like a homestyle meal. The staff was nice and did a great job handling the rush where even when we left there was still people arriving and waiting for spot to sit.

Earlier tonight, a lively and pleasantly jovial server named Tim set one of the top 10 burgers I've ever had *in my life* on the table before me. As I typically do, I started with the fries. The slender cut fries were fresh from the fryer, lightly crisped and perfectly seasoned (ie, barely). They were excellent both unadorned and with Kerbey's organic ketchup. While gathering the generous double patty smash burger, I got some of the special sauce on my fingers. Naturally, I licked it off. My initial reaction to the tangy and spicy condiment was, meh. Taken with the rest of the burger as intended, however, the sauce convincingly displayed it's "special" credentials. There's some magic there. An absolutely delicious and satisfying meal prepared perfectly and served up by a guy who clearly loves (and excels at) his trade in a clean and tastefully decorated restaurant: Kerbey Lane really blew away my expectations tonight, and I'm happy to share my excitement with the world. Thanks, y'all!

I have been a customer for Kerbey Lane once every month as they are a good working family of people who prepare good food. Their coffee is one of the best ones Ive tried, especially the pumpkin oatmilk coffee. I enjoyed the times they helped make room for a party of 8 or more. This time the people who take customers to their tables not only provided vague waiting times, they allowed most people in and had my group waiting without a clear estimate to make an informed decision to stay and wait. They had a few free tables and the reason they didnt serve us was becsuse of our group size despite the fact that they served us several times with a party of 6 to 9 all the time in 30 minutes even at the busiest. I waited over an hour and they still continued allowing others to enter while still not informing me of the true estimate of how long it would take to serve us. I give this place 2 stars because the manager was great and will do her best to teach the team to not make such promises. I hope for everyone entering the cafe to not experience what we experienced.

After a rough week, my family needed an escape from reality and we found it here, if only for an hour and half. We were a party of 13, some vegan, some vegetarian and some just normal... (that's a joke for my brother in laws, don't get mad) and our waiter handled us with ease. As you can imagine it was quite the bill, and as we were leaving the waiter, (I'm sorry I didn't get his name now), came to us thinking we made a mistake with leaving such a large tip. I've never had a waiter do this and he was almost in tears when he found out it was intentional. Great food, better waiter, and the escape this family needed from the reality of our previous day. I tip my hat to you sir for keeping us laughing and your gracious thanks. Keep being you my man.

I hope Kerbey Lane (Arbor Trails location) was just having a bad day on Monday 14 Nov @ noon. A Usually great experience was marred by lack of menu availability. Asked for Chili, they were out, so we opted for the large chicken taco soup with a side of cornbread, out of corn bread. Asked for hot tea…they didn’t have hot tea. Asked for cashew queso…no cashew queso. Soup comes out…A very small looking “large”…and the kicker…there was absolutely no chicken in the soup. We must have gotten the last dregs of the pot. Got a tablespoon of cheese & 5 crispy taco strips to sprinkle on top. Then suddenly corn bread was available. Yay! Each time the waitress came out to tell us…”I’m so sorry but my manager says we’re out of ‘X’.” She was very apologetic but given the fact they were out of almost everything we asked for, it would have been nice to see the manager come out to tell since he/she is responsible to make sure the kitchen can produce the menu.

We waited to be seated for over 5 minutes. The attendant behind the waiting counter walked off to seat guests ahead of us and didn't come back to seat us until I went over get his attention! He looked over at us a few times before I walked over. He was talking to another staff member! The front door customer service was horrible! Our server on the other hand was wonderful! He was very attentive and effective! The food was good. The Cowboy Queso was amazing! The pancakes were just ok! The eggs had zero flavor or seasoning. The biscuits were on the dry side. They definitely needed more gravy to help cut the dryness level down. The gravy was good. Our coffee and tea were good.

This place had such potential but…our server was the worst. Had to ask for everything, twice or three times i.e. napkins, sweetener, coffee refills while she forgot every time and then stood at a computer talking with other staff. Asked for home fries to be crispy but not only weren’t they crispy but they were cold. The chicken on my eggs Benedict was overcooked and dried out. But the rest of the Benedict was wonderful including the hollandaise sauce. Small pancake order is huge and they were fluffy but not hot, but fluffy. When I wanted to pay once again server was missing in action so I took my receipt to the manager who said the server will take care of it. When I told him about her performance he took the check and gave it to her behind the counter. He didn’t even ask me to tell specifics and to give him more information. It’s as if he didn’t care at all. So in my estimation: Potential= 5 Execution =1.

Title: Kerbey Lane: A Perfect Breakfast Haven Kerbey Lane is an absolute gem for breakfast, offering a diverse menu with options for every palate. Personally, I can't get enough of the Pumpkin French Toast Platter and the delectable Kerbey Queso, which comes paired with guacamole and salsa – a flavor explosion! What makes the experience even better is the ease of planning – reserving a table is a breeze through their online system. The convenience continues with the straightforward payment method using scan-to-pay receipts. Portion sizes are satisfying, leaving you fueled for the day ahead. The attentive service provided by the staff adds a touch of warmth to the overall dining experience. Without a doubt, Kerbey Lane deserves a perfect 5 out of 5 for its fantastic breakfast offerings, seamless processes, and exceptional service. It's the ideal spot to kickstart your day!

So I love the Kerbey Lane Cafe that’s over in downtown, they’ve always been really good. But this was off. We got there at 8pm and there was legit only 5 tables full, I counted, and they told us it was going to be a 30 minute wait... I understand, corona, but there were tons of tables we could’ve sat at that were serval tables away from the others. But whatever, that’s not the reason for the 3 stars. After sat down we waited 45 mins for the waiter to even come over and take our order... 45 mins... after we had already told two other people we were ready and they both just walked off. What made it more frustrating was the fact that a big group of people came and set down after us who got their FOOD even before we were able to ORDER!! And mind you, there were only 5 tables being waited on. Really frustrated by that. The food was just not as good as the other place. Good but not Kerbey Lane great.

The food here was so good I wanted to hug random strangers. The thing is... I'm not joking. The food was freaking amazing, and it made me that happy. My wife ordered a DIY omelette. Our awesome "bartender", Susie, said it was the largest omelette order she had ever placed (we basically got ALL the veggies). And about 10 minutes later, before the omelette came out, we realized we had screwed it up. We quickly got Susie's attention, and found out the requested omelette had already been made. Susie, however, said it's never too late, and she had them make another one. When I told her we would pay for both of them, she refused. I ordered a Baked Potato omelette with the pumpkin pancakes and cinnamon swirl. Here are my thoughts: I'm fairly sure that this meal will be served in heaven. Because, good LORD, it was just freaking amazing! There is NO QUESTION we will be back when we come back in town!

I no longer live in Austin, or Texas for that matter, but whenever I come here I can always count on the host to have just the right amount of indifference (she really didn't want to wipe the booth down again, it was going to dry anyways, right?), the server to be friendly and on point, yet clearly having a far better time hanging out with coworkers, and management to be the consumate professional, making sure that everything is as it should be (like finding us a different booth when condensation from the air vents was dripping on us). The menu has changed over the decades, some for the better, some for the worse, but overall Kerbey Lane continues to deliver a consistent experience and solid food time and again.

This location has gone downhill. This review is a compendium of about 8 different meals eaten here… as I didn’t want to make a review over one experience only. The food is inconsistent. The service is atrocious, sometimes. The servers are too busy talking to each other… and just walking around aimlessly. The food is the thing I used to come for… as it used to be consistently good. But for the last year or so… depending on the cook… the food is either good or just plain bad. Several years ago, apparently the managers were better. I get employees are hard to find. But it’s time to have a tighter lock on consistency. I hate it… cuz this was my go-to place. But every time I go… I walk out disappointed.

Date visited: June 20th, 2023 The absolute dirtiest restaurant I have ever been to. We were seated at a table that was sticky from previous patron's sodas, had food on the booth seats, and trash visible under the table. The entire restaurant was in the same condition with food and trash littered all over the floor. I asked the waitress if they had had a lunch rush, and she looked at me dumbfounded. I pointed out the state of the restaurant, and she nonchalantly said "oh that's from this morning". It was 3pm when we were seated, so the restaurant had not been cleaned all day according to her. Goes without saying we will not be back here, or any other Kerbey Lane in the future.

We came here because of the reviews. The service and kitchen is very slow. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. The place doesn't seem very clean. Switch plate covers were missing. I needed to ask for new silverware once I opened mine because the knife had some crusted item on it. The tables were sticky. The food was nothing special as far as taste wise. I can't believe they charged us for the plain maple syrup!!! I think my cooking tastes better and that is not saying much. We had two different flavored pancakes ordered and the plain ones came instead. We had to wait another 15 minutes for the right ones to come out. The prices were reasonable. We will not come back.

In a city with many options this place has gone downhill. I ordered the southern biscuits with gravy platter and it had to be one of the worst breakfasts I’ve had in a while! Gravy was salty, eggs runny, burnt bacon, biscuits were ok but they use a vegetable oil spread and the coffee was dark and you are only given creamers by twos. My son had the pancakes and they were rubbery hard so was the sausage pattie. I reached and got some sugar and bugs started crawling out of the sugar! Ugh. The place needs a deep clean especially their floors. The place is dirty and there’s no justification for bugs in the sugar! Pretty disappointed. I won’t be going back there again.

We've been going to Kerby Lane for over twenty years now, it's been a family staple for ages, but today was just not it. I ordered the breakfast platter with pancakes eggs and sausage, and my eggs ended up being inedible (not fully cooked even for over easy, and they were cold like they'd been sitting around for a while), things were busy in there, it felt like maybe they were understaffed, so while our server was trying to help us fix the egg problem she was also running around helping several other tables and leaving us up wait, I don't fault her but I think a few more hands would have been a great help to everyone in today.

We had a party of 8. We tried to take advantage of their call ahead seating. We were told one hour so we arrived 20 minutes ahead. We still ended up eating an additional hour before we were seated. My husband and I both ordered the Texas egg Benedict. The portion was huge; we could have easily shared and was tasty. However, although the photo showed plenty of Benedict sauce, there was not nearly enough. We asked for more sauce and they charged us $2.79 for a side of sauce. There was hardly any on the plate to begin with. I don’t think we should have been charged. In addition, our eggs were over cooked. Not sure it was worth the hour and a half wait for our meals.

After 3 months of quarantine and no takeout, I called Kerby Lane to ask if employees wear masks. The girl I talked to was super nice and explained everyone wears masks. Additionally, they thoroughly wash their hands when they go in and out of the building. We ordered a family meal of chicken enchiladas and eggs Francisco, (my favorite!) and I even added a note asking if they could add strawberries to the pancake I ordered as a side. Delicious! And they did add strawberries Ordering online is easy, curbside is easy, just park and call when you're there! The staff are so nice and take the pandemic seriously. Now my husband can enjoy his enchiladas for a few meals and I got my fix. I love this location and appreciate the care ❤️

This place is a really cute spot that I didn't even know about until my partner and I stumbled upon it, looking to broaden our horizons and this place is great. The wait staff are always really nice and very attentive. The food here is great! I've tried a little bit of everything and haven't found anything I wouldn't try or have again! They even change up their pancakes (flavors) or the month which I have tried the past two months and both were amazing! (Smore and peach cobbler) We will definately be back again!

As you approach the front door, note the benches along the way that tell you this is a perennial crowd favorite. Even on Tuesday morning there was a lively breakfast crowd. I ordered the "Seasonal Paris Texas Platter" which has to be a distinctly Kerbey Lane menu item. It includes migas as well as the seasonal french toast which was lemon poppyseed. Of the 4 choices for sauce on the migas I chose the verde. It was fresh and bright and absolutely perfect. Try it. The french toast was not overly sweet and did not beat you over the head to let you know it was lemon poppyseed, making it thankfully less like the dessert of the meal. Service was quick and attentive. Come hungry to this place and leave satisfied.

the wait is super long.. waited for more than 45 mins. every time i asked the person who's responsible to seats us said oh your table is being cleaned, apparently 20 more people just walked in. instead of saying 15min she kept saying being cleaned. service is not good. drink is not refilled, had to ask for straws and didn't check on us after food delivered to our table. the good thing is they have gluten free options and healthy choices if you're vegan. size of the pancake is good and try the chocolate chip pancakes

Took 15 minutes before anyone said hello and gave me a menu. I asked for fries, and for them to be well done. She repeated: “extra crispy, got it”. The fries were barely cooked, a few of them were still raw potato. First few times coming here I loved the atmosphere, but now all you hear is the music coming from the kitchen at a way too loud volume, where that’s all people inside can hear. At least there’s cool local art on the wall. Never coming here again. Used to be a really nice place to come after work, now it’s a chore in how much I’m willing to tolerate.

Cute breakfast spot for our group of four. I appreciate the wait-list functionality that let us join before we got there. We were able to get seated within ten minutes of getting there and checking in with the host. I split the Lemon Poppy Seed French Toast Platter and Cuban Benedict with Home Fries with one other person and it was the perfect amount of food. I usually love French Toast but the lemon poppy seed with lemon glaze was too sweet and cakey to my liking. The Cuban Benedict was great and savory though. Overall an enjoyable experience and I'd be open to coming back.

I've been going to Kerbey Lane for years and it's always solid. The only issue is when they get busy, you end up waiting a bit. They all work hard here and try to make sure you enjoy your visit and the food. The food is fresh and they like to use local sources for their ingredients so it's great quality. I usually come here for breakfast. This trip included biscuits, gravy, sausage, eggs, and pumpkin pancakes and I'm super happy with this comfort meal. Now it's time to go enjoy a cat nap.

I’m not one to put a review based on customer service alone but this place missed their shot on the food as well. I’ve been to many brunch spots with poor customer service but this place also tastes the way they work. My eggs were cold when I received them and my fiancé didn’t receive her plain pancakes (which is all she ordered) until I was already done with my plate. There was no explanation or apology as well. The food here is overpriced and lacks flavor. The potatoes taste so bland and dry although they look like they will be good, but you will be disappointed. Sorry Kerby we will be taking our business elsewhere.

  • Mark Hatlan

The food is hit or miss, but the service lately has been getting overall worse. Even the host made a scene tonight when we asked not to be seated in a bad servers area, and he called over the bad server next to our table after seating us and made a scene about us not wanting him as a server. My wife told him that was rude and you don’t treat customers that way, the host waved his hand dramatically and said “whatever”. We told the manager what happened and the host and server stood behind the counter talking to each other and pointing at us. We’ve been coming here weekly since last year, but we won’t be coming back.

Sat at the bar. Had to ask for a menu after waiting almost 10 minutes. Then had to ask the kid standing behind the bar, wandering around, looking at I don’t know what if he could please take my order. Then the order comes out. Vegetable omelette with maybe two eggs worth of eggs and very little vegetables. Then I sat almost 15 minutes waiting for a drink, refill and my bill. Used to love coming to this location but quite frankly, the service and quality has tanked.

We went for weekend brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I ordered the summer special green tomatillo eggs Benedict and my husband got the veggie burger. Everything came out fast and it tasted good. Our service person was very attentive. She also pointed out that the freshly squeezed juices aren’t indeed freshly squeezed. It was a shame that they would falsely advertise, but she was honest and helped us from buying a $5 juice out of a can. Docking a star for the false advertising. Overall a good place for breakfast!

Their bathroom hallway mat was *SOAKING* in urine. I mean you can smell it when you walk in. I started dry heaving when I was making my way to the bathroom before promptly turning around and immediately leaving the establishment. I get it. There are people that can come in that the employees have no control over. But to do nothing then have service ongoing while there is urine not only all over the place, but right next to the kitchen, is disgusting. Health inspector needs to make a visit. Asap. Do not eat here. This place can not be clean.

Want to place a to-go order online? Too bad! They won't accept pickup orders online (at seemingly random times). But you can just call your order in, right? NOPE! Apparently not, according to the very coherent and helpful (/s) host I spoke with on the phone yesterday evening. I was told that, if I wanted an order to-go, I'd need to come to the restaurant, place the order in person, and wait 45-60 minutes for the food to be prepped. That's obviously ridiculous, but apparently not to Kerby Lane Cafe or their staff.

This is the first restaurant we tried after moving from Boston about a month ago and loved it. Great menu, gluten free options and amazing portions to price ratio. Tonight after a hard days work I stopped off here for dinner with my fiance. After connecting with the manager Naz about what we do for work (we both coach a Junior National Olympic Swim Team) and how we influence our kids on the team he decided to graciously comp our meal. What an outstanding guy, good people still do exist! We will definitely be going back to support this local business and him!

Monday morning 11am breakfast/ brunch, egg white omelet for me, short stack w/ bacon for my girl. Took 15 minutes to get the food. No bacon on her plate along with no syrup! Pancakes were stiff and not real hot. My omelet was cold and a clump of spinach inside could not be cut by any knife I had. Ordered sausage too and it arrived cold and undercooked. Syrup finally arrived along with stringy undercooked bacon. We poured syrup over everything to make things edible! Definitely won't be going back!

This is one of my favorite breakfast/ brunch spots to order from. Normally I get the Kerby Lane Cafe combo which is always on point. Today decided to try something new and not happy I did. The sweet potato hash is not very tasty and the serving size is only like 3 bites but with 2 huge slices of cornbread. So basically you pay $15 for cornbread. Stick with the basics and you’ll really enjoy the place but be warned on trying new items for the prices they charge.

I’ve had a very inconsistent experience here lately. I’ve been a loyal customer for 10 years, probably dining here (or take out) once or twice a month over that time. More and more, the food is cooked completely differently every time. Sometimes it’s great. Sometimes it’s completely over cooked. Sometimes the sauces are on the side, sometimes mixed in. Just tonight, it was so overcooked it was almost inedible. Hoping they can fix their quality issues soon.

Great staff! Everyone was super friendly. The food was ok….mine wasn’t hot and my daughters eggs weren’t cooked to order. That’s alright, but the bathroom smelled sooooo bad. Like backed up toilets or something. So gross. When I was coming out of the bathroom, I showed an employee that the wall was leaking outside the bathroom door and she really quickly brushed me off. She just waved her hand at me. I wish I would have known about that before I ate…. Ick

The food portions were great, definitely less than half the gravy you would expect to have on biscuits and gravy. The waitress was either new or just didn't care about offering refills of beverages until we were ready for the check. The waitress only checked on us once the hour we were there. From where we sat in the dining room we could see a lot of garbage under the beverage station. The woman's bathroom smelled of bleach but was not clean.

Although the food was tasty, by the time it made it to my table my eggs were cold. I understand a restaurant being busy but I was there early enough that the number of clientele should not have influenced how long it took to get my food. Service was slightly lacking as well I had to track somebody down to get coffee and to get my check. I will try them again maybe they just had a bad day.

I tried the pumpkin bread French toast plate, it was amazing! It comes with eggs and choice of side, the bacon was perfect. Enjoy it while it is here. Sorry I was hungry so there's a bite missing from the photo. But definitely try it out if you get the chance, I really couldn't finish it all so have a nice treat for later as well.

Our food was delicious and our server, Barb, was one of the best servers I have had in forever. She took great care of us and gave great advice on substitutions for me for a vegetarian, no egg breakfast and it was fantastic! The vegan vanilla pancakes were to die for! We will be back again! I went 4 stars as the food is always fresh and always good. It's not their fault that the place is so busy that you have to wait 45 minutes on a Sunday to get a table. The service is a bit slow due to the overwehlming busy that they are. The all American should come with toast and used to be no more. The server did not ask me if I wanted toast and by the time the food came I didn't want to wait forever to add toast. Otherwise great place, highly recommended!

  • Mary

A casual diner in South Austin. This place gets really busy on the weekends, so try to get a table early if you don't want to wait. The menu is pretty diverse too. Classic American breakfasts, and South of the Border style. The pumpkin spice French toast is always good!

Probably the worst pancakes that I have ever had in my entire life. The only reason that they're getting two stars is because the wait staff was amazing and management removed it from my bill. I also had me fill out a form detailing exactly what was wrong with the pancakes. Most buttermilk pancakes are mouth watering and have a taste of butter with every single bite and they're soft these tasted more like cardboard and I was very unimpressed.

  • Johern81

Definitely busy but my food was cold. I got Migas and it was not great although my friends food looked pretty good. The waitress seemed overwhelmed and it translated to her service. We had to stop other waiters for refills and she put my friends bag of food on the floor beside her instead of the table.

So much to love about Kerbey Lane Cafe: They serve a huge plate of vegan pancakes (with vegan butter on the side) at pre-pandemic prices ($8.99 for a full stack that can easily fill up two adults). They have outdoor dining, and allow our four-legged loved ones. Kerbey Lane Cafe has been an inter-generational family favorite for decades. Please keep your high quality natural ingredients and low-end prices. Love you and thank you!

They have vegan options!!!!! Woohoo!! The vanilla vegan pancakes, the breakfast taco that you can use vegan options to fill it with, the vegan queso and the vegan bbq sandwich, ALL are amazing! Vegan family and we LOVE seeing places expand their food choices to provide options for those who live out a plant-based life! Online ordering is also super easy and curbside pick up is great with toddlers in the car!!!

  • Amy Hatlan

We go to this location probably once a week. Today was the first time that everything was off.. our server was awful, maybe she is new. My kids pancakes were still on point. My plate, the food was cold and I couldnt cut my broccoli bc it was under cooked. My husbands plate was ok, but his broccoli was mushy. We tried to get her attention but she never even refilled our drinks while we waited.

  • Kelly G

Well that was abhorrent. We made our first and also our last trip to Kerbey Lane. My dish (Crispy Chicken Benedict) was very bland and barely edible. I ordered the Buttery biscuit as my side. It was as hard a a piece of lumber and inedible. Another family member was served eggs that were nasty and her bacon was floppy, undercooked, mostly white fat, and likely spoiled. Never again, it was pathetic.

  • Maria Rosenberg

The classic queso was really good. The margarita was awful and had pepper in it, which made the glass look really dirty. The chicken pesto sandwich was really dry. The taco trio & bacon bloody Mary were pretty good. Unfortunately we didn't make it out of the parking lot before we were both running to a toilet bc we got sick, our stomachs hurt for the next 24 hours. Not a place I'll go back to.

  • Judy Luna

I remember when every visit to Kerby was a good one. Good food, good service and a good time. Can't expect that anymore. Some times it's good and often it isn't. The coffee was good but it was hard to get a refill.

Kerbey Lane literally has every one of my favorite breakfast foods on the menu. Recently tried the Eggs Francisco and didn't realize queso is on top of the eggs and bacon - I've been missing out for literally years on this dish. Pro tip: get a cinnamon swirl on your pancake. I had been here years ago for an omelette and liked it, but this time… nothing special for $15 without a drink. Servers took almost 15 minutes to ask me if I was ready to order. Plus, don’t ruin a perfect recipe of French Toast. Don’t call it French toast if you served a lemon poppy seed cake dipped in egg. Too sweet. Ruined it. NO.

One of Austin’s finest locally owned chains. Queso is heavenly, so as pancakes. You actually take home their branded pancake premixes, and even find them at Costco (as I did, it’s really good). Can get very crowded in the afternoons and onwards but super friendly staff will definitely do their best to locate you in short time.

Atmosphere: Family casual Service: Friendly and on her game Food: Eggs Francisco is the best thing I've had here. Toasted Biscuit (instead of English muffin) topped with scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado slices & queso. Delicious. Pancakes are also pretty good. Taco was just okay. Breakfast served all day! The waitlist app is a joke. Came in according to to texts when the table was ready, in pouring rain for front of house to say the app was wrong and that the wait would be at least 30 more minutes. This is after an initial 45 minute wait stated by the app. Good luck

It’s almost always good. I enjoy their seasonal menu, and of course, it changes with the season! I can almost always find something good on that menu. The service is nearly always good. Be ready to be in a crowded restaurant, but that’s actually part of the experience, in my opinion. It’s a great Austin tradition!

There are so many good things about this place, this particular location is great. The food is really good, service is attentive and friendly, it's clean and a very nice to place relax and enjoy yourself. The cinnamon swirl pancake was just delicious, and like every other thing I've tried, I would order it again.

My wife LOVES Kerby Lane! It is not my favorite decor but the food is really good. So on occasion we go there, as was today's trip, a treat for her. We both had Denver omelets plus one buttermilk pancake to share. Service was slow, our waitress was learning the ropes. Omelets were delicious.

Yummy food!! Everyone always leaves happy and full. Great allergy protocols!! One of our daughters has a tree nut allergy. The manager came out to discuss how they change gloves, clean the area, use clean utensils, etc to help keep her safe. We felt very confident in ordering for her here.
