PLEASE READ!! I am a student who has been at this school for 6 years which has allowed me to truly see the type of teachers at the school, the learning environment and especially our dearest principal, Mr Stasos. First of all, KNHS abides by the motto “ aims to promote excellence in a caring and supportive environment”. I strongly disagree with this and you may wonder why. A school should provide a student with the best opportunity to reach their full potential and succeed. And yes it does not matter what school a student attends, if they want to learn and be at their fullest potential, they will, whether they attend a selective, private or public school. However in order for this to happen, TEACHERS is a major component of a students ability to enhance their knowledge. As a student since year 7, I have had many teachers where I have experienced different forms of teaching styles. This has led me to make a judgement on the teachers that are supposedly ‘qualified’ to teach. MOST teachers at this school do not have a passion for teaching where they think giving students worksheets and copying notes down without explaining properly is ideal in achieving a band 6 in the HSC. All students learn differently, however when it comes to one exam, some may fail. Some teachers will blame us for not studying hard enough or not paying attention in class, however teachers should question their own ways of teaching if the whole class average does not exceed their high expectations. Students should not be punished or be ashamed because some students want to do well but are not given the right resources & materials. Yes there might be one outlier, which is most likely because they go home and relearn these notes which takes up even more of their time when this should be well understood in class. There are also teachers that only come to teach for money. How is that acceptable? If teaching is not your expertise, don’t make us suffer because you are too lazy to exercise your brain. With the exception of this, there are a few teachers that are AMAZING. They are willing and passionate to help you out of their spare time and they don’t pretend like they care. They make class and learning new concepts fun, whilst the majority of teachers make me not want to attend class because I know expectations are above and beyond especially with their ‘qualified’ skills. Those minority of teachers are the reason why students enjoy high school and they should be praised for their hard work. It is truly upsetting having to spend 6 years of high school in an environment where most teachers don’t care about the students learning and just to ‘sit there’ and ‘do their job’ which they can’t even do properly Last but not least, our most exceptional principal, Mr stasos. I understand our school is old and renovations are expensive, however instead of using the money from fundraisers responsibly and fixing our leaking ceilings and broken toilet doors, he uses this money to repaint our school which now looks like a art school or a kids fantasy land. Not only this, we already have a gym which I understand is very useful of PDHPE however, there is no need to build another outside gym. Money does not grow on trees and should be wisely utilised for necessary things. This principal doesn’t put a warm smile on his face but is able to stand in assembly and talk about how amazing our school is and how all of the meetings he has attended with other principals has been successful in them saying how excellent our school is. He stands tall and proud talking about the many students that are about to transition into year 7 the following year, where he had to decline many applications because everyone wants to attend this school. At first, I thought this school was where I could achieve the results I wanted due to the act that Mr Stasos played on. A principal like this should not be given the position of a principal but instead remain as a PE teacher. Thus, I empathise with the students that have to learn their lesson and please parents do not send your child to this school.

the bathrooms and changerooms need fixing. The hinges on some doors have fallen off causing the doors to fall and the locks on the doors need to be fixed because none of the doors are closeable.
Great high school, I went here myself, friendly teachers, huge playground, and tiny little hidden areas where you and your friends can play things like truth or dare
If you love getting bullied for eating dogs, this is the school for you! I highly recommend people to go to this school if you want to feel depressed.
