"What a great little place ! Lots of local history and artefacts"
"We went there for Hellowen theme story telling activity for kids but real idea behind this play group was make the children to love being in the museum and make them love the history"
"It's small museum"
"Small but perfectly formed - the Kingston Museum tells a very local story, both because the building itself is part of that history, and by the well curated exhibits"
"Definitely a hidden treasure"
What a great little place ! Lots of local history and artefacts. You got Neolitic, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman, Anglo Saxon and right up to WW2. Nicely curated and good info boards. These little local museums are often a much nicer experience than visiting big national ones where you have too many people and no time to look at things properly. I went for the Bowie exhibition, which was pretty good, but actually preferred all the permanent stuff.

We went there for Hellowen theme story telling activity for kids but real idea behind this play group was make the children to love being in the museum and make them love the history. This is an amazing idea you can give for future generations. Unfortunately I don't know the names of the story teller gentleman's and a lady who helped him. Still wanted to give them big thank you for what they're doing for children.

It's small museum. It opens only 3 day of week from Thursday to Saturday . Admission is free. We visited on Saturday, there was no queue and museum was almost empty. Reception staff is friendly. The museum's holdings include 120 Martinware ceramics, some of which are on display. The art gallery on the first floor of the museum hosts a changing programme of exhibitions as well as talks and events.

Small but perfectly formed - the Kingston Museum tells a very local story, both because the building itself is part of that history, and by the well curated exhibits. Kingston is about economy, trade, and why kings are kings. It's the same today as it has been for thousands of years. And the museum explains this in an interesting way, taking us through Saxon times, the rights of fishing and loading boats, right up to the suffragette movement and the professional woman
Definitely a hidden treasure. Small but very well curated local history museum of Kingston. Full of interesting historical artefacts. Free of charge. Family and children friendly with a free activity area. There is a free special exhibition recently : Creative Flow, Kingston, art and the river until 13/04/2024. Highly Recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough about our guide for our free tour round this free museum. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and great with kids, making information about our borough interesting and accessible to all ages in our group. Many thanks from the last group on Saturday 17th December! We really enjoyed it!

I have known this museum for many years, especially when l was doing my BA at Kingston university. It has been a source of inspiration. A lovely collection of local history, again there is always some new exhibitions organized,as well as various events, which is worth looking out for. Definitely worth a visit.
Tem história de Kingston desde os Vikings até século da revolução industrial. Há gravuras projectadas na parede com mercado da época, acompanhadas com áudio característico daquilo que se observa. (Carroças a passar, pessoas a apregoar, passos,). Sons do mercado da época. Muito bonito. Coloca-nos naquele tempo.
Connected to Kingston library, it is a small but a charming little museum with some interesting historical artifacts on Sunday. There is a small art gallery on the first floor. The volunteer at the desk was welcoming and happy to have a chat. We worth a visit if you are in Kingston and some time to spare.
Bang in the centre of Kingston, the jewel in the crown is their permanent Edweard Muybridge exhibition. Upstairs is a good gallery space which is currently given over to theatre portraits and London street life. Well worth a look. Sweet giftshop promoting local art and artists.
Free museum with lots of interesting artifacts They also have a kids creative session every Saturday ! It’s £2 and adults go free. We read a story and then created some art based on the story

Nice little museum but a pity whoever wrote the captions to the Edweard Muybridge exhibition felt the need to spoil it by imposing his/her patronising, virtue-signalling agenda. Please just let the exhibits speak for themselves and visitors can make up their own minds.
O museu é pequeno, mas muito bem organizado e conta a história de Kingston. Recomendo a visita. Você não vai sair decepcionado. Porém é verificar os dias que ele está aberto.

Great local museum with the story about the first Kings of England. Art gallery, exhibitions and activities upstairs. Very helpful staff and volunteers and a good selection of local books and maps in the shop.
A great museum, with helpful, personable and informed staff. Luckily I visited in early 2023 as the expansion of the ULEZ in August will make future visits impossible. Enjoy the museum whilst you can!
Nice show of coins and artefacts from all historic periods - shame though about the faulty lighting in some of the showcases as was unable to properly view the objects (the reason for 3 marking)
Splendid little museum full of information and the photographic exhibition on when we visited was first rate. Excellent visit. You have to look for the building but please go and find it.
Small museum but still full of very interesting facts about Kingston and how the town came to be etc.

Quaint little museum covering the history of Kingston from ancient through to modern times with plenty of locally found artifacts. Well worth a visit as it's completely free.
This place is as dull as it is out dated. If you're looking for a fun place to go on a day out with the family you should keep a good distance from this house of boredom.
Lovely little museum. Great for discovering the history of this ancient town.
