Kissena Park has a lot of great walking trails a big beautiful artificial pond that's stocked with fish for fishing and you could always watch the turtles and the swans although the fish must be returned back because they're too small there's also plenty of shade trees so even if the Sun is blasting you can still stay cool the bathrooms stay open until 4:00 a.m. they have two located centrally in the park they have benches they have the checkerboard top tables It's relatively a free from electrical vehicle park every once in awhile you'll see somebody on a bicycle but for the good part it's about 80% walking they have parks there for little children to play in parking is not a problem because all around the park is free parking outside the park on the street the park has a bocce court which people play their regularly and they are very friendly and welcome anyone who would like to play I have found Casino Park to be exceptional in its feeling of Serenity and peace you can sit almost anywhere in that Park and find comfort in one way or another you can hear the birds chirping you can see the squirrels running and just in general the smiles on everyone's face and the happiness that the park provokes is outstanding

Loved it. Lived in this area my entire life. Came out the day before to enjoy the snow with family and saw all the kids with their sleds absolutely enjoying the hillside sledding. Looks like the parks Dept set up a barrier of hay bails and fencing to ensure the kids safety at the bottom and don't fly off into the lake..........what an awesome time and the view here in winter is as spectacular as in summer.....great park....has a sense of mystery around every bend with trails for hiking/jogging/biking/birdwatching, etc....on the top end near the War memorial people often doing Tai Chi and dancercise. Obviously you have the lake and birds. In summer turtles. Playgrounds and baseball fields all over. Anyone in the area do yourself a favor and stop and take a walk around....or do some sledding!!

What an amazing hidden gem in the center of queens, there are a few different trails through out the park where the trees are shaped like animals, great for kids as the trails will lead you to the pond where swans n ducks n turtles swim, no feed the wildlife but people do. Not only are there trails there are baseball fields, playgrounds n a bicycle racing track n there is a parking lot which the park is clean inside n out in the parking lot n Let's not forget to mention there is a restroom room for Male n Females which are extremely clean.... If you want a funday out this is a great park to head to with a picnic basket

They've updated the bathroom. It's more modern and cleaner now. They also stock them up more frequently. There is a large lake where ducks, geese, and turtles swim around. Some people go fishing in the lake. There are a good amount of pokestops in the park, and Spectrum WiFi or Cable WiFi. There are several good spots for picnics or setting up a volleyball game. There are plenty of trees so it stays breezy and shady in the summer. It's a large park with some secluded areas. It would feel safer if they had more security cars patrolling the grounds especially when it's getting late. A woman was murdered here once.

A wide ranging park with walking trails, to the velodrome, a playground off Booth Memorial Avenue, a baseball field and much more. The park has quite a lot to offer. Much area exists for dog walking
Playground
A playground is off Booth Memorial Avenue, offering a place for kids to play and exercise
Dog-friendliness
Dogs can walk around the large areas available a lot of field area to walk and play, unsure if there is a play area specifically designated to dogs

beautiful lake, very clean which is salt not what one can say about a lot of our precious water sites in the city. the wildlife is gorgeous, many turtles were seen, mallards, Canadian geese, even swans and raccoons! many places to sit and relax, picnic, and spend time with friends. I lives it. a wonderful little gem in the city. there's public parking about a 10 minute walk from the lake, but there's plenty of street parking closer to the lake.

Decent park, not the best of manicured lawns or adult fitness areas but the pond is nice with ducks and many red eared slider turtles. There are areas to picnic, but the grass isn't thick, lush and verdant. Good sized children's playground. Wish there was lusher lawns and more beautiful flowering plants around. There are some very tall sunflowers and half the pond has fencing around it to prevent accidentally falling in.

Good scenery. Lots of benches to sit. Amazing place for pictures. The lake is alright. Not the most beautiful park out there but if your in Queens, this is a nice place to spend a weekend. Definitely does not compare to a park like Central Park. It has the basic necessities of a park: playground, basketball court, lake. It does not have the fancy tourist spots like the waterfalls and castles in central park.

Kissena park is beautiful! It's underrated and overlooked compared to nearby parks. It's got fewer people peeing on trees, less noise pollution and littering compared to flushing meadows and almost as many amenities like tennis court, run paths and bike facilities. It's a bit harder to access, but that filters out a lot of people who simply go to Parks to get high or engage in anti social behavior

This is a large queens park right in the middle of the boro. It has a dirty brown pond, tennis, softball fields, walking/running trails and a velodrome. Among other usual park-offerings. Would be nice if there were some local events here. I remember they used to have medieval jousting on Sundays. Or was it larping? Anyway, this is an ok park. Could be cleaner.

  • Edward Kim

Best park around (along with Bowne park). Nice place for a walk to get your mind off all the hustle and bustle of Flushing. Many scenic areas here.
Playground
Multiple playgrounds in the park
Restrooms
Multiple restrooms
Dog-friendliness

Picnic area
Nice place to sit down and enjoy nature over some food

Kissena park is a fantastic place to visit for its gorgeous scenery and plentiful outdoor activities. The walking/biking paths are beautiful. The lake is stunning and often has ducks, geese, turtles, and even swans. My 5 year old son loves visiting and playing at the jungle gyms. This park has restroom facilities which are usually in good condition.

I found a nice spot to fly my drone around like an obstacles course. There are small trees that line up in such away making navigating around them challenging and fun. beautiful and peaceful place perfect if your not an experience drone pilot and if you know what your doing with your drone you'll have a blast ripping it through the trees.

Update May 2, 2022: Just as beautiful as always! So well taken care of. There's a gorgeous swan protecting a nest of eggs that may hatch around Mother's Day--The park has done a nice job of fencing her area off to onlookers! There are some really nice flowering dogwood(?) trees to see on your visit, too!

  • Lenny Levin

I grew up in this area over sixty years ago. The park is beautiful and used by the people that live there. Many children and families were out in the playground. The trail around the lake was well maintained. So happy that the city has kept up with maintaining the natural beauty of this land.

  • DO IT right ?

What is THIS? A visit by a dignitary? A celebrity? I asked one of the very patient spectators, and at first he was VERY reluctant to divulge what this entire group with high powered zoom lens-cameras were so eagerly awaiting— finally he said it was a BIRD!!!!!! This was memorial day -2023

  • Lauren L

So beautiful and a wonderful place to have a nice walk. Saw a lot of different bird species including swans, ducks, grackles and more. There are also different turtles in the lake which was cool to see. Overall, I would recommend to come here for a walk or a picnic on a nice day.

  • bitch binko

lived by this park almost my whole life and I'm so grateful. there's just so many different spaces within the park itself - a lake, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball hoops, so so much more. it's pretty underrated/unknown by people not in the area and I prefer it that way :)

  • Andy Valencia

Beautiful green park away from tourism. Mostly only visited by locals in the area. Plenty of space to have a picnic, play sports, workout, walk the dogs or simply pass the time. There is also a huge lake in the middle surrounded by tall trees, be sure to walk around.

  • Brian Lam

Beautiful park to get away from the hustle-and-bustle of normal city life, it's a hidden gem tucked away in East Queens. The park is safe and full of life, the large lake has ducks and turtles, and there is a plethora of walking trails scattered around the park.

  • Mike

Lots of things to do spread throughout the park. There is a velodrome here for bicycles. Pond fishing. Playgrounds for children. Handball and basketball courts. There is a short hiking trail as well here that is more extensive then it appears from the maps.

  • J S

Love it. Very peaceful Lots of different routes thru the park offer different scenery. Busy at times and people play games on the paved roads which can be super annoying. People need to be more courteous and mindful of bike riders. Otherwise gorgeous park

  • Ai Lian

Beautiful park with a lot of trees. Perfect place to take a walk or picnic when weather is nice. Love to come here when my kids were younger. There are two Playgrounds, one with sprinkler. And it's enjoyable to watch waterfowls and turtles in the lake.
