I've been going to Kitcheners for almost ten years now. It's a solid spot for a good party, even though it gets pretty cramped sometimes. Also the toilets are usually occupied with okes taking drugs. Drinks are well priced, and the food isn't too bad either. I love that the old charm of the place has been preserved. I think it's ironic that a lot of black kids love to party in a place called Kitcheners. As an Afrikaner I should technically be outraged as well. Guess were6not woke enough. I'd recommend going though.

One of the oldest bars in Johannesburg , great vibe unique characters interesting people. Try prawn and feta Samosas or the Jozi burger with banana and bacon. Saturdays there is pop up market in the bar. Stand up Comedy nights on Tuesday evenings. Open every day till late on weekends close 3:30am great place to end the night when all other clubs and bars have closed. Check out the interesting wall paper and old lighting. Drinks are relatively priced this is a popular spot for international travelers.

What a gem . Had an unexpectedly awesome time at this spot. The vibe is amazing, people and the place is too cool. They have a great selection of beers, they had 3 different cocktails (managed to get to them all ) and mouth-watering mini-meals, ribs wings, you name it . Met with some friends for a few drinks on a Friday. Bar was busy. Service was speedy. Friendly bartender. Seating it neither here nor there...it could be better. Some of the chairs were dodgy. Music was ok, not roo loud. When i was there the place had a chilled atmosphere. Prices are on par with the neighbourhood. A lot of university students hang out here.

I love the way the walls are painted. It's an old bar in a very busy part of town. Here you will hear great music and leave smelling like a put out cigarette if you spent even 10 minutes in the outside smoking area. The crowd is young and fun mixed with old and groovy. All in all it's a great night out if you are looking to get drunk!

Ordered the rib platter and it was the worst thing ever. I had to go fetch my own food from the kitchen. When I go to the kitchen, the food was sitting there getting cold. I hadn't received my utensils; had to ask for them at the bar. By far one of the worst dining experiences.

Great little pub with a tangible feeling of “history”. Barman seemed a little surprised that we were there for lunch (just before 13:00), but the burgers were delicious. Word has it that the vibe picks up significantly later in the day. Menu is relatively limited but adequate.

A great pub with its music being the hidden gem of Jozi- a great variety of dubstep, ho, Afropop and traditional hip-hop & house. The drinks are student prices which is always great but the food does lack in quality but then again what are you looking for in Braam.

My visit to JHB would have been a disaster if i didn't make it here. The music is always great, the people are always a nice vibe and it really is the best spot to chill after a long day at work. Nice sundowners and turn up nights. All in all a great place.

Definitely not a location I would have found myself getting smashed in on my own accord, but I must say I had a solidly great experience overall! And might I add their cheese sauce is absolutely out of this world! I would definitely go there again!

Such a cool place, with amazing music (regardless of the time of day). The staff is super friendly and you will always find interesting and welcoming people. Had their fries, tasty af. Wing portions are also lit. Would recommend.

This is a great place to have fun with your friends. You mostly going to be surrounded by hipsters (which is cool). Wear your 90s clothing and go straight to Kitchener's and have fun. Entrance is free during the day until 8 p.m

At least clean the place a little. Young destructive and violent student crowd. The crowd is just not for a person who simply wants to find a table and have a snack and a drink. These students are as noisy as the idea of hell.

It’s a chill club for you to enjoy with your friends but just watch out for the bouncers they are not fair to everyone your chance for getting into the club depends on if they know you. But if you are lucky you will have fun

This place has historical value as one of the oldest bars in Johannesburg. It has an interesting rustic but colourful, Victorian style to it. The food is decent and decently priced. There is karaoke and a dance floor.

I have been going to Kitcheners since 2009 and I have never been disappointed. A great hub for artists and all those who love the alternative scene. Prices are reasonable. Best days to go are Fridays and Saturdays.

One of those few places that embodies Jozi. A true home for Joburg and for that matter SA’s house music. An institution that blends all cultures. When I am in kitcheners I am hopeful of a greater SA. Big love.

Lol one of the most unique bars I've ever been to. You don't feel like you're in South Africa when you're here. The music, the people, dress code and furniture/interior design, everything just feels retro.

Lived there in the 1980's, room on the right on the balcony. Used to be the Milner Park Hotel, known as Jimmy's Inn. Love to go back. Wonder what happened to the receptionist and waiters, a good crowd.

The music is bad unless you like elctro and deep house all week long. There is not enough space to sit around and the bar staff isn't friendly. Plus the wine there is horrid.
