It’s not what I remember I used to work and eat at Knead Wembley square on a weekly basis and was a big fan of their coffee and three cheese omelette. The staff were always welcoming and treated me with amazing service, and the food was delicious. I’m back in South Africa visiting family and we decided to meet up at the Muizenberg Knead. The waitress was friendly, my first flat white coffee was delicious, but the breakfast was less than average. I ordered the cheesy omelette with bacon. They forgot to place the order for bacon - not a big issue, but when they did bring it, the bacon was cold, not just cold from sitting in the pass, but cold like it just came out the fridge. The omelette had little to no cheese, and I actually had to open it up to check as I thought they may have forgotten it. It came with a side of cherry tomatoes which were tasty, but no pesto. This is on me though, as they used to serve it with the most delicious pesto sauce. It seems this isn’t a thing anymore and quite a lot has changed on the menu, not necessarily for the better. On our way out, I ordered a takeaway flat white. It was piping hot, like too hot to hold. They burnt the coffee, but at this stage I was just going to let it be and make my way out. It’s not the Knead I remember, and I can only pray they bring back the real three cheese omelette with pesto, and learn to make a coffee at just the right temperature.

We live local and used to be regular customers visiting at least once a week and sometimes up to 3 times a week. Service always great to the point that the waiters knew exactly what our orders would be. This all changed when we adopted a puppy and went to have breakfast after their renovations. We sat down and were given menus and was about to order when a manager came over and said they we can’t sit and eat with our puppy. This whilst there were other dogs in the restaurant. So apparently the manager’s rules are that your dog can be inside and you can sit down with your dog for an extended period of time, as long as it is whilst you are waiting for take away orders. Needless to say we left and we have sadly never been back again. I assumed that they were always dog friendly because in all our time visiting we would always see dogs inside. Fortunately most of the restaurants on the beachfront are dog friendly so take your dogs over to Hudsons, Hang Ten, Empire Café, Yoffi Falafel, Striped Horse, The Commons or Kirsten’s Ice Cream. You’ll be able to sit down knowing they appreciate your money just as much as they appreciate your best friend.

Eye spy with my little eye... I'm looking for the tumeric pineapple and blueberry chia pudding? So, this is what I ordered it sounds delicious right? "RAINBOW BIRCHER MUESLI BOWL" Bircher oats soaked in almond milk, served with pineapple turmeric, coconut yoghurt lassi, blueberry chia pudding, nutty granola, seasonal fruit & berries. If they had only come to tell me that they didn't have the tumeric pineapple and blueberry chia pudding... Instead they replaced the blueberry chia pudding with cold oats, I'm not a fan of cold oats personally. They I would have prefered to have reordered the EGGS BENNY as that was delicious the last time i ordered it. OVERALL the staff were friendly and they have a KILLER VIEW. We had the best seats in the house that's for sure. Just a bit disappointed with the lack of communication, I guess they deserve credit for improvising?

This was not a good choice! Took my wife for a walk on the beach. Afterward, we wanted to sit down and chill in one of the restaurants. Was skeptical about this place but gave it a try. The atmosphere is so cold. Not a welcome at the door. Waitress came to us to get our order. My wife took too long, and the waitress started to get very annoyed with her. Eventually, we ordered, but then loadshedding kicked in[ only in South africa]. The waitress then said we couldn't order anything that was fried. Only stuff that can be grilled due to a few machines on the inverter. We had to change our orders again. To owner: Please put a notice that during loadshedding, only foods that are being fried will be available. Train your staff to be more professional and friendly. The food made up for the cold reception.

I had brunch with some friends here today. Our waitress was very patient with us. We were there for 3hrs and also 2 of our party arrived late which didn't perturb her at all. I ordered from their new vegan menu which I had to ask for. Luckily I was aware that they had one. The frittata I had was really tasty however not as filling as I had hoped it would be. Nonetheless the portion was sufficient. I topped it off with the Tumeric latte. I also ordered the Matcha latte to start as we were still waiting for the other 2 to arrive. The lattes are divine. The price, R39 can be seen as a bit steep but they definitely pack a punch and are laden with all the good stuff. Thanks Knead Muizenberg for the good food.

Bland food served on sad looking cutting boards. Really gross! Salad was cut cabbage, 2 strings of julienne carrot, one cherry tomato and 2 leafy things served in a ramekin...now try eat that without most falling on the table. No dressing or salt even. I could not find the cheese on my cheeseburger. The pizza also came....believe it...with no cheese save for some small pieces of feta. Very bland. They clearly have no idea of spices and herbs. I had to beg for service and there were but 20% or so tables occupied. Burger R125 and Pizza also. Grossly overpriced, especially for what they serve.

Service was slow and rude. I ordered a drink and she asked what flavor, but never told me the options. She walked away to the counter and I wasn’t sure whether to follow her. She put out two bottles and I couldn’t read them from our table and then she just walked away. Very weird. I ordered a food dish at first, but they were out. Then I ordered something else and she came back saying that they were out of one of the ingredients. I had also ordered a side but never got it. It was very cold and loud inside. The food was pretty good.

This place deserves more stars than I can give in terms of high food quality, great taste and perfect location! The food prices are not super low but you absolutely get what you pay for and more. I was here on an extremely busy Sunday morning and the food arrived very quickly! The whole atmosphere is also very warm and inviting! My favorite option was the poached egg, avo and feta on toast, the breakfast bowl was filling and the omelette was cooked to perfection! Yes.... I had all of that and would do it again if I could

Popped in for a brunch. Window seat chosen to do some people watching, as one does! We settled on the poke chicken bowl and chicken strips in buttermilk with fritters. It is the small things that elevate this establishment: Finely chopped mint and pineapple in the slaw, seriously complex sauces (Korean Gochujang and citrus ponzu dressing) and just generally well presented & fresh food. Amazing service, excellent value for the quality. Perfect coffee and squeezed juice. Highly recommended.

Knead bakery looked inviting from the outside and that's why I went inside. However their food was so disappointing. The chicken mayo toasties had large slides of tomato inside and gherkin big enough to puck out. The cake was doughy and icing tasted soggy....yikes the only thing I enjoyed was the latte. Even the spring water I oderded which arrived with glass that smelled like fish was repulsive. Won't be back here again. Minus 9 on my foodies list

Besides the place being in an old building, which gives it plenty of character, I highly recommend this place. They are innovative to the point that when there is no power in the building, they offer the load shedding menu. Food is good, reasonable to average prices. Fresh croissants and fresh bread and a full menu of plenty other items including tea, coffee, beer and wine. Service is immaculate

The restaurant was not in a clean condition. The bathrooms was very untidy and felt dirty. The windows overlooking the ocean view was dirty. I know it takes allot to clean, but if you decide to create a ocean view with nice clear windows you need to keep it clean. Always. Food was okay, but if you call a place Knead, you expect the best in pastries which we did not find.

Commanding full height glass slabs, give you a great view of the famous surfers at Muizenberg Beach. Open and airy eatery with delicious food and excellent variety. I had the R87.00 Vegan Toast & Avo on their signature Sourdough bread, that was absolutely superb, followed by an equally healthy cup of Rooibos Connoisseur tea. Yummy goodness and friendly staff. Awesome

Who can say no to All-day Breakfast! Came in past 4pm (they are closing at 5) and still been able to order Toast & Avo with a poached egg and some Rooibos Tea which served in a beautiful can. The Avo on Toast was probably one of the best I had in a while with Danish feta, roasted tomatoes, roasted peppers, rocket, basil pesto on sourdough ✨ highly recommend!

This was a delight. The service was great and fast. Prices seem a little expensive at first but it is worth it. A great variety of breads to choose from. Great menu with variety of meals and drinks. The waiters were quick and friendly. They offer wifi. They are also quite wheelchair and pram friendly. The bathrooms are also good and clean.

  • Gary Maart

We waited for literally an hour for 2 bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. Sandwich wasn't even good and half of the chips wasn't cooked properly. Highly recommend giving it a miss and going to Vida or Spur for a better breakfast experience. Maybe the high prices are for the view, because its definitely not for the food and service.

  • Nitanja Parkersteyn

We stumbled across this Bakery on Sunday afternoon. The service was friendly and welcoming. We thought to see if they have fresh bread. We walked out with bread, a chocolate croissant and a spinach & feta quiche. All three items were of high quality! - Happy couple who you will see again! All the best for this Bakery, Nitanja

  • Irvin knowlden

Excellent service from the young guy at the counter. Pizza was awesome. Less is more, much more. Still going to try the biscuit. The coffee was very nice but not as strong as I thought it would be. It was however fine as is... we still have Bread which we will eat with our spaghetti Definitely trying out the rest of the menu!

  • Liezel Genis

Went for breakfast with friends. The food was good. Enjoyed the vegetarian burger, it was tasty and a decent portion size. Had to do take aways. Good coffee but wouldn't suggest any additional changes might end up to pay R55 for a large coffee with different milk. Lovely view overlooking the Muizenberg beach and huts.

  • Shakirah Dramat

They were super busy when we arrived but we still received great service. The staff kept us in the loop at all times and were honest about waiting times etc. Food portions were much bigger than what we expected and totally worth the money. Would definitely be back and do recommend for a breakfast stop. …

Nothing special. Service was poor and u friendly staff. They did not offer table service. I expected better. They could not even provide a plate to eat out pastries off.

Thank goodness for Knead! They have such a large & inclusive menu that there really is something for every one. Fresh baked goods, gluten free pizza bases, many vegan options, fresh juices, great coffee and dairy free super lattes. There's a good reason Knead Muizies is packed on weekends.

Great place for breakfast and meals in general. Service staff is happy to assist you and always follow up. Food served was delicious. I had breakfast (eggs were done as per my liking) with really tasty cappuccino. Definitely recommend. Sorry I didn't take photos of the bakery and meals.

  • Alex “pyropunk” Dunwell nee Grässer

I had the eggs benedict with salmon on sourdough and it was just perfect! My wife had the tasty chicken mayo with avocado. She found the portion generous and the food delicious. My son had the breakfast Pizza. The crust was crispy and the flavours worked well together.

TWICE I've eaten here and had something other than my food in my food. Urgh. First was a roach (yup) and the second time paper in my burrito.

Everytime we go, it is only for the food. Service IS ALWAYS slow. Today after 20 minutes of waiting we got our own menus. Waitress didn't check up on us once and table wasn't cleared. Food was nice though. Only go there because of entertainer vouchers.

  • Justin Groenewald

Really good food( they even cooked my food in a separate pan because of my pork allergy. Amazing service would recommend that you try and book a table as they get busy. Must try there sweet treat that are freshly baked. Definitely will go back there.

  • Cameron Barnard

An okay dining experience. The windows are all really dirty, and the bathrooms leave much to be desired. I had someone walk in on me in the bathroom due to the lack of any functioning lock!! Their saving grace is the variety of vegetarian options!

  • TARRYN LEE CHRISTIANS

I had a lovely vegetarian meal, we were checking out places to eat, the moment we put our foot in their door, we were in... The scent of the baking and the foods. Absolutely loved it. This place is amazing, and loved the waiter she was so nice.

  • Glynis Lewis

Such poor service this morning, took ages to be noticed, drinks order only arrived after chasing up after over 30mins. Left after eventually tracking down and updating the manager (who did not appear after requesting 3 different servers to

Perfection! Perfect food- they serve almost anything, perfectly situated ( you can actually see the people surfing). Service has always been excellent. When busy parking can be tricky, but with a bit of patience you'll find a spot. After

Since they have renovated it is a lot nicer to spend time here. It used to be really noisy but now it is much better. The food is consistent which is great, you know what you're getting so expectations are always met. More

Thanks for the cold latte not to mention, COLD reception/acknowledgment as a customer I received. Serve your customers first before engaging in conversation with one another. Surprise you're still in business

  • Koda Eddy

Very bad service, the barista doesn’t clean the milk jar after using it it’s filthy and he wasn’t happy when I told him to wash it. He doesn’t clean any of the coffee equipment before or after making drinks.

  • Tashmeer Esack

DO NOT buy from the bakery after lunch. Custard croissants tasted old and the muffins were dry.

Awesome service, fast friendly and efficient and awesome food. There is also a place for surfers to hang their boards while they eat. The fried chicken burger is a must have.

Some lovely interiors/finishes. Used to be a hotel and old movie theater. Get freshly baked stuff on your way out. (Just found the menu a bit expensive)
