"loved this school when I went to it had great drama (not extreme and drama is good for your kids) had AMAZING teachers (Ms Manalo, Miss Johnson used to be Miss Minto, Mr Karonikilas/Carrot, Mrs Kay, Miss Wall sadly left 3 was probably the best teacher) even tho there weren't that many excursions and for the ppl that couldn't go to camp and stuff, teachers like Ms Manalo did stuff for the yr 6's that couldn't go to camp so it was an amazing school sad though bc the principal has taken away SO MUCH playground area that all of the people in the school have less space to play and the demountables are driving everyone crazy"
"Some of the teachers are dedicated to their profession and encourage the students to actively participate in the curriculum"
I was an ex student at this school, not much to say really. If Mrs Kitchener, the old principal, could’ve stayed at Kogarah Public then I would’ve definitely given this a better rating. The new principal has let the school’s environment become a complete jail, exposing the kids to little environment to play. Investing in covering the school up in demountables, given the current state of their finances, the school has no regard in organising excursions to enhance the student’s education since 2019 (if i remember properly). If you are in the vicinity of this school and are considering sending your children here, it would be better to send your kids to a school with better environment and organisation. Kogarah Public has been a mess since I’ve graduated and has barely improved. Barely a handful of teachers that have genuine care about the students are left still teaching. Majority of teachers are rude and passive aggressive, and have treated me and other graduates from this school extremely harsh, to the extent where I never wanted to go to school. Unless the school has fixed all the issues listed, Kogarah Public School is not a bad option, but don’t restrict yourself from finding better educational opportunities for your child.
This is an old story. So please sit comfortably and listen to me. There were 2 instances that happened here which troubled me. One was when I was in year 1... her name was Mrs Herderman I think who no longer works here. But when I drew a dress and coloured it messily she told me off as if she wanted me to fit into being a pretty little girl. The second was when Mrs Gwynne (now she changed her last name) who didn't understand near-sightedness and would tell off those who wore glasses and wanted to sit closer to the board. I was one of those who had glasses but my prescription was very unsteady amd wearing too much glasses would make them worse. But I never told her, so when I couldn't read a question and I was asked about it I kept silent and some students and she herself started to think that there's something wrkng with me. Before that year, year 6, I would answer questions eagerly. And from then on I entered high school being a more silent person and that mold became harder to break. Thank God I've broken it now, the silence. Hahah! Otherwise I had a lot of fun here too and made great friends! A lot of the other teachers were funny and some of them had very calming voices hahahah! Thank you
KPS is like a rising bun in the oven. At first, the bread bun is flat and bland- boring. But, as time passes, the bun rises higher. Unfortunately, six years isn't equivalent to fifteen minutes, and the bun isn't going to rise to its max potential too quickly...I guess it also applies to other features as well; some of them have improved throughout the years, but others will have to please another generation. The education isn't too shabby though, and the teachers are decent. If you want a decent primary school education, I suggest you enroll here. That's it I guess. Oh, and I hope in future years some manga is added to the library. 'Pandora hearts' is preferable.

Some of the teachers are dedicated to their profession and encourage the students to actively participate in the curriculum. Unfortunately some other teachers are not interested in allowing students to reach their full potential. The Principal has allowed the school to become an urban jungle as demountable classrooms have increased and sadly a lot less playground space. Parents should choose other neighbouring schools that offer a better learning environment.
Joel here, didn't really like the school. There were too much demountables and the kids just took over the football field. Really sucked tbh, but Ms Manalo carried. One of the best teachers I had, and I also loved Mrs Bertuccio. PSSA was all good ig, hated this school tbh, if only there were more sport activities and actual fair play. Remove that large tree from the field, don't recommend sending your child here. They'll get bullied, i tell you now.
This is my school and it’s absolutely excellent, the teachers are amazing, the entire playground is huge and has great spots to play! This must be 6 stars if we could. No school could ever compete with this unless they use some weird tech that makes the kids know everything and is pure fun, but obviously we will have to wait till 4056 for something like that. 5 Stars
Teachers are amazing. They are so caring and educative. Even though we are not OC u still get an opportunity to do your best and exel in subjects. for those who thought this was sarcastic and all its not. Don't judge Kogarah Public from Kogarah High school.
Great teachers there, had a great time as a student. Sure, there might not have been as many excursions organised as other primary schools according to some of yall, but the education is amazing so it didn't matter. Teachers are super supportive.
So glad I made the decision to send my kids here. Very understanding and caring to my children’s education needs after bad experiences at previous school.
It was gucchi at first then my yr 3 teacher stole my limited edition 20 cent coin worth 19 cents. HE NEVER GAVE IT BACK!:(
My friend told me that she had a terrible and traumatising experience there it still haunts her today would not recommend.
y’all broke. not many excursions. only around 1 or 2 a year. most schools get around 5 a year
small school broke as hell cramped and tiny area traffic is loud who likes this?
Must put more playgrounds for children. Less demountables bruh.
pretty cool school if you count out some of the kids there
School has limited money despite all the fundraisers.
A teacher I'll never forget, Ms Manalo.
goofy ahh school and its so broke
Good and best for K-6 kids
