I had an extremely disappointing experience at Koko Hair and Co in Melton recently, and I feel compelled to share my honest review. I went to the salon for a hair extension installation, hoping for a beautiful and natural look. Unfortunately, my expectations were far from met, and I left feeling incredibly dissatisfied with the service and the outcome. First and foremost, the hair extension installation was a disaster. Within the first week, I noticed that the extensions were coming out, and my hair was constantly knotting. It was evident that they were not installed properly, leading to a frustrating and uncomfortable experience. I followed all the care instructions diligently, but the extensions felt like straw and were terribly brittle. They did not resemble real hair in any way, and I was shocked at the low quality of the extensions, especially considering the exorbitant cost of nearly $2000. Beyond the subpar workmanship, my efforts to address the issues were met with an even more disheartening situation. The manager of Koko Hair and Co, Emilie, displayed an appalling lack of professionalism and was incredibly rude and uncooperative. Despite my numerous attempts to contact her via phone, text, and even social media, she refused to be in touch regarding any potential resolution or means to fix the problem. Moreover, when I reached out to Consumer Affairs to express my concerns, I was shocked to find that the manager of Koko Hair and Co had lied in her response. She claimed to have offered to have me send the extensions back so she could assess them, which was entirely untrue, as she had not been in contact with me at all. This dishonesty only added to the frustration and sense of being ripped off I felt throughout this entire ordeal. Overall, my experience at Koko Hair and Co in Melton was nothing short of a complete disappointment. From the inadequate installation of the extensions to the poor quality of the hair and the utterly unprofessional behavior of the manager, it was an all-around negative experience. I would strongly caution others against seeking services at Koko Hair and Co, as it has been one of the most regrettable encounters I've had in the realm of hair care. I sincerely hope that my review serves as a warning to others and encourages the salon to improve its services and customer relations. The pictures show first how badly the extensions were installed - they were able to be seen from the day I had them installed (and no this picture isn’t taken “upside down” Emilie) this was above my head, and you can see the atrocious placement! The second picture is how close the tapes were installed (no hair in between) so that upon installation almost automatically, the hair was able to become knotted very easily due to incorrect placement. The tapes also had absolutely no order, there were no rows or any order to the extensions that were installed, no care to hide the tapes from view and after having at least 5 hairdressers tell me it literally looked like I had had extensions vomited onto my head it was that bad. TO emilie and who else keeps deleting my reviews here - I won’t stop posting and I have lodged with VCAT, this can take from 9-13 weeks. This won’t stop me from holding your “business” - the terrible service and goods that you sold to me, accountable. Pretty embarrassing that the absolute lack of accountability and such rude behaviour is encouraged on your TIKTOK account, as well as making fun of customers by your unprofessional staff and yourself.

I had the best experience right from the beginning!! Being new to the area I was in the hunt for a new salon that specialised in blondes and extensions so I private messaged the girls at koko & hair and they were so helpful! I then on a whim did a walk in one day to check out the salon and book in for a consult and Emilie did it for me on the spot! They were so thorough and went through everything for me. I then went to my first appointment and was greeted with a coffee and Tim tam.. it’s the little touches :) my hairdresser Jaime was absolutely amazing! She was super friendly and really reassured me the whole way through about what the plan was for my hair. I was so impressed with her wealth of knowledge and how amazing my hair looked and felt after my appointment! I recommend Koko & hair to anyone!

The girls at Koko are professional, friendly and create a really pleasant environment. The salon is big and bright, which makes it really easy to spend hours there. They offer you a (complimentary) drink on arrival which is a really nice touch and they’ll keep asking you if you want a drink if you don’t say yes the first time. Jamie’s approach was really holistic, she wanted to know my hair journey up to that point, what I wanted to achieve in my appointment and what long term hair goals I had. Jamie was open to looking at all my inspo pictures and asked many questions about what I liked about each image. Jamie took a lot of care in achieving an outcome that took me by surprise, and I have a head of hair I’m really proud to own. I would definitely recommend Koko Hair and Co and will be back myself.

Worst experience ever. Just moved to the area and wanted a fresher/cleaner blonde. Called up and was given a quote of $260.00. Was charged $263.00. Thought that was a bit off so went back to the website and it looks as though I was overcharged (according to the prices advertised). Left the salon in an ugly ash blonde. Tried to call Emilie back to resolve the issue, no response after leaving numerous messages. Even when I arrived for my appointment, she was rude. She said she’ll do a proper quote but when I arrived she fobbed me off to another hairdresser. Very disappointing. From the previous reviews, it seems as though Charlotte is the go to hairdresser here.

Hi, I have had a hair cut and blow dry at Melton Koko hair and co. I’m really disappointed with my experience there. I wanted to get my hair cut in some style. Instead the girl who did my hair just blew dry it and trimmed the bottom 1 inch or even less and just thinned my hair in the bottom. Everyone I met after that asked if it’s been a long time I cut my hair. I really don’t understand what she did. I thought of doing the haircut in this salon as the review were good but then I realized the reviewers were all talking good about just one or two stylists there and not the whole team. It’s the first time I had such an experience with a salon in Melbourne.

Came in requesting full head highlights + treatments and curls, the lovely Makita did an amazing job! I can’t get over how beautiful my hair turned out. She is extremely talented and caring when dealing with your hair. Rell was very welcoming into the salon as it was my first time and noticed her helping around the salon with others, this salon shows to have a great atmosphere of professionalism, respect and kindness, it is definitely one of a kind to walk into a salon without feeling judged and uncomfortable! I had a keratin service done in September which failed to work, after contacting the salon I was asked to send photos through so they could show the rep, so I did. I never got a call back and have since called the Salon another 3-4 times being told the same thing that I would get a call back. For a service that cost me over $500 and has not worked at all, is pretty poor along with the after service as they haven't even attempted to contact me to fix the issue. An absolute waste of money.

Since my service here, I’ve recommended this salon to every single one of my friends. The ladies were so warm and welcoming, listened to everything that I wanted and gave me exactly that. I left with my hair so luscious and hydrated! I couldn’t thank these ladies enough for not only the work they did on my hair, but the entire service provided!!! From the bottom of my heart, Thankyou so much to these ladies, I am feeling so confident and can’t wipe the smile off my face!! xx

Highly recommend koko hair and co, i seen Charlotte and she did absolutely amazing on my hair. Went in to start the long process of getting my hair to the blonde I wanted (as expected it takes time) and just after the one session its almost at what i exactly asked for. After having my hair done elsewhere and burning it to a crisp, Charlotte has made my hair feeling brand new! Ladies go here you wont be disappointed. Service is also amazing all the girls love a good chat!

Adore the team at Koko, not only do I always walk out feeling beautiful but during the whole appointment I’m feeling so comfortable and at ease with everything and everyone. Tay tay is an absolute queen of hairdressing. She slays harder than any other hairdresser, transforming my boring shoulder length hair into a hello kitty pink and blonde mullet! Shes hilarious and doesn’t make you feel awkward like other hairdressers! She makes you feel like you’ve known her for ages! I’ve never loved my hair so much and having her help me express myself creatively with cool hair has been amazing! Highly recommend!!

I had Charlotte from Koko Hair & Co do a low maintenance blonde look, with a shadow root & blonde money pieces, on myself. It was absolutely perfect. Id normally would get this look done elsewhere, and she matched it so damn well!! my first, but definitely not my last time in Koko hair & co, as I’m already booked in for November They also managed to score me a last minute appointment which was also a bonus!

Everyone was incredibly welcoming and even with my minimal explanation they did wonderful only issue I had was when I went to wash my hair the thing you rest your neck on was hurting me a bit but that could be because I was not sitting properly or because I've got broad shoulders haha. The prices were also very good and the quality was amazing, everyone was also very wonderful and beautiful.

If I could leave 10 stars I would, everything about Koko Hair and Co is perfect! The service, the results, the prices. The list goes on, I had such an amazing experience here with Nikita and Charlotte. I went for a full hair colour, cut, blow wave, style and I left feeling amazing. Pro's: The team was welcoming and on-time! Con's: Unfortunately, I had several bleach streaks and spots that were under/overprocessed, leading to patchy tones throughout my hair. I reached out to the salon manager to resolve this, who said she would book an appointment to fix it; however, she never returned the call. Considering I paid almost $500 for the service, I expected high quality.

Charlotte was absolutely beautiful. I am very anxious to get my haircut and coloured because of a horrible experience that I have had. She sat me down. She explains everything that she was going to do. She made me feel comfortable. She made me feel happy healthy. I can’t recommend her any more than 5 to 20 star review. She is the best hairdresser I’ve actually ever encountered.

Absolutely amazing first time experience! All the hairdressers were so lovely and attentive. Nikita did an amazing job with my hair and gave it the freshen up that it definitely needed. It looks even better than I thought it would look. I left the salon feeling very confident and like a newer and better version of myself. Thank you again and I can’t wait to come back!

The best Hair Salon place in Melton to be honest. The ladies at Koko hair take good care of you from the time you enter to when you leave. Their experience with hair is top tier. The manger Emilie does a grand job of managing the business and greets everyone with a smile, I don’t how she remembers everyone’s name.

Not great. The girl removed and retaped my extensions but failed the cover them. I drove over an hour to the salon to get this done. Super disappointed. Looks like I didn’t even get my hair done. Not sure why she wouldn’t make an effort to cover to tapes? They were showing the same day I got them done.

Worse experience I’ve EVER had at a hair salon. Left my hair discoloured, multiple different colours. I asked for lighter highlights but instead got yellow roots and darker bottom. Sweet team but had to pay a fortune to fix up my hair at different salon.

Makita always does a fabulous job of my see colour. She does the best curls/waves too, I always feel fantastic after having my hair coloured and styled by Makita.

My friend wanted blonde highlights and the next day they turned pink and she called them for a few days and she got no call back. $600 down the drain.
