Sadly, no Stars. It's too much! and You're Wrong! are memorable rude and pushy responses I experienced. Oh, and even though I was dressed well and acted respectful, they are unapologetic and only write now that they “felt uncomfortable” is a lame excuse. Does it seem like they just cannot admit they could be in the wrong? Self entitled? The context of my story is below, yet I've now changed my purchases to stores like Mephisto (they sell Birkenstock, Olang, Rieker and more), Tiramisu, and SoftMoc. Story with context I was there to for a 2nd time in one week to return a pair of shoes I wore around home during 30-day trial period and were perfectly clean, enclosed in its original box and was also ready to try a light & dressy winter shoe/boot, much different than the heavier winter duty boot I purchased within the past month that I liked (have since returned those too due to their rudeness). Is returning again for another purchase an insult? a crime? Sales associate Dominique was not receptive to me during my previous visits; what is it with her? Although it was elder Mr. Kunitz who helped me with the return, it went quickly enough but I sensed he was not too pleased about doing a return - well at least I returned them in A1 condition. Afterwards, I went over to the display area, zoning in on two prospective models. I picked them up and soon after a kind female employee asked if I had been helped. I mentioned the exact size I needed for both in hand. I sat down on the circular seat that allows 4-5 customers to sit around while trying on shoes. I found it took her a while and became aware that she already was serving others but she never mentioned that. Okay, all good, I'll be patient and decided to look at another two on display. To keep this short, I asked to try on four different light duty winter booties in all, and she assisted me with three. Because they didn't quite feel right and before I spend $2-400 of my dollars, I wanted to ensure I try those other two. In between trying on the shoes: 1) Younger Mr. Kunitz (owner) walked near me and as he did was two days prior when I did a previous purchase, seemed pushy with his question, "Did those other boots fit right for you?" Yes, I replied (have since returned then due to this bad experience). 2) A female customer was seated to the left of me trying on 3-4 different types of slippers. 3) Another female customer seated to the right of me had three different ankle high leather spike boots that she was trying on. When it came to the last two pairs for me, and as the female employee was busy elsewhere, I approached Mr. Kunitz (elder - father) for assistance (he was rearranging things in the store and not helping anyone that I noticed) and mentioned the size I required, but for one, I wanted it in a black colour instead of the brown one on display. When he came out with that black boot version, and I mentioned that I thought the black version had a smooth patent finish like the brown one on display instead of a pebble texture that it does, he strongly replied in a rude tone, "No you're Wrong!" When he came back with the 4th boot, he then said, "You've been in this store two times now and it's too much!!" Huh? He then added, "What seems to be the problem, why are you having such a difficult time finding a boot? We are busy here and it's just too much". I asked do you mean that me asking to try on different pairs of shoes/boots is asking too much? "Yes" was the reply. In ending, he also said "it's been far too much, and I refuse to provide you business here!" Just imagine, he is the one who has a problem, not me the customer. That this is the response I received over a seemingly typical shoe purchase experience. WOW!! I am already sharing my story with family and friends.

I have heard so much about this store and was excited to stop in on my latest trip to Edmonton (I live two hours away). When I walked in a did receive a hello and went on to look. I was in the store for 10 mins looking at shoes, had picked up a couple and no one came to help me. The lady who said hello had gone directly to the computer while the other was serving a customer. I went to a different location trying to find a brand they had as I wasn’t sure how the store was set up. The two sales ladies met in the store not 4 feet away and were talking to each other. I picked up a shoe and turned to ask about a size and they were no longer close. I waited a few more minutes and then put the shoe down and went to leave as I wasn’t getting helped. They did acknowledge me with a “Have a nice day”. The shoes looked great and the prices reasonable but the customer service needs to improve.

Rebecca and Alyanna were so pleasant to deal with. I can be easily overwhelmed and become very shy and quiet. They made me feel very welcome they were very friendly and quick to help me with finding me shoes I would request to try on. I was impressed with how well they worked as it seemed rather busy. All the staff were very polite. They helped suggest some brands of shoes that would work well with my wide feet as I've noticed I'm developing bunions. And the sandles are so comfortable and I feel like my feet aren't squished. And they don't hurt so much already! The shoes though!! How do you get clouds into shoes? What kind of magic is this? Even Cinderella's fairy godmother couldn't make a glass slipper like this. 1000/10 would recommend.

Amazing shoes. Loved the selection and quality! I’ve really tried to be mindful of shopping local the last year and was so happy to learn about Kunitz! The West end store was very clean and well kept. My only major disappointment was the customer service. I had to keep hunting down associates to find a different size. It almost seemed like they didn’t want to help me. Hoping it was just a one-off experience and will have a better experience next time!

I am clearly not the target demographic. I spent at least 20 minutes in this store and not one word was spoken to me by any of the four employees while I was there. Employees were all engaged initially by other customers, but after those customers left and I was passed multiple times by employees without acknowledgement I decided to leave and never set foot in this store again. Unfortunate as they do have beautiful and quality footwear.

Bought spike boots awhile ago and they were defective,so they were replaced without cost which I was happy with.That was in the spring so I didn’t use them until this winter and now after a few months the boots are cracking but since it is more than six months no warranty.After paying a couple of hundred dollars l expected they would last a little longer.Will be shopping somewhere else for boots.

Rebecca was an all-star in helping me find a very specific type of boot. I was very picky, and she must have found a dozen or more to give to me to try on, and did not give up. Finally we found exactly what I was looking for - and it was a Kuntiz brand, the Northmount Short Boot! Thank you Rebecca for your persistence. And thank you Kunitz for designing the perfect bootie!

I just had the best service with Kunitz shoes. I ordered some shoes and they shipped them to Grand Prairie quite quickly. I emailed a couple questions that I had, I got a personal and automated response within minutes. It’s a busy time of year for retailers and their customer service is absolutely top-notch. I will definitely be a return customer!

Such an amazing shoe store! I have the next six weeks covered with my spike boots for ice, and comfortable Reiker boots. I liked my Volkswalkers so much I purchased the City of Edmonton Skyscape as soon as they came out last spring. This year they have Lance Cardinal inspired shoes. Everyone is so friendly, patient and helpful.

Fantastic place for European style shoes. Or if you have any knee or back issues. And they're products are attractive, beautiful, stylish shoes, Not old-fashioned shoes, very high-end place. The staff are magnificent. They know their products really well so they can help you out in a minute. And they have excellent sales too.

Great selection of shoes that are extremely comfortable, beautiful, and trendy. Accommodating, polite staff who are knowledgeable about the products. It's not Wal-Mart if that's the price point you need... but these shoes are worth every penny I have ever paid for them .... years and years later... I still wear them.

Wide selection on display of seasonal and popular footwear with expert staff and staff-in-training to help, show you where to look and fetch what you want. They even drilled a hole in my very old Birkenstock straps (bought in a different country) so they fit snugly again. Two locations, both excellent.

We needed to find Billy brand show to fit my daughters AFOs and after calling and driving to the store I couldn’t be happier with the customer service my daughter cerebral palsy and I received. You turned and experience that could have been quite stressful in to a very positive one.
