When a hotel receives 5 star status, after staying at Lancemore Mansion I have begun to enquire when and how that is reviewed? I will no longer simply look at stars to think a minimum of standards are to be expected and delivered upon. Is Lancemore the worst hotel I have ever stayed in? Absolutely not. However, is it the worst 5 star hotel I have ever stayed in? ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. If you aren’t accustomed to 5 star luxury, this hotel may be able to fool someone into thinking this is normal. However, if you have had the chance to stay in 5 star accommodations all over the world, you will leave here not only feeling disappointed, but ripped off. I have never been to a 5 star hotel that doesn’t have valet parking, door persons to assist with greetings, salutations or general questions, but what initially threw me was there were no bellhops. I saw two elderly women rolling the trolley back from dropping their own bags. I certainly didn’t expect to have to ask my husband to get the bags up to the room, then go park the car, while wrangling a toddler.

What surprised me even more was the lackluster lobby, only had one person at reception. She was nice enough, but I had given comments that weren’t read, and again at a real 5 star accommodation, if you mention you don’t drink and don’t want the mulled wine - you won’t be asked to drink mulled wine while checking in. All that aside, again the objective perspective of amenities just upon arrival show why this isn’t 5 star. What was upsetting was I paid just under $1200.00 AUD for 2 nights at this place. They are certainly charging 5 star pricing. Now onto the room - oh the room. Extremely old, worn, dated furnishings, broken lamps, pull up blinds? In 2022? Malfunctioning old phone and frankly again for 3 star it would have been fine, but 5 star? NO WAY. There was zero pleasant surprise. That’s the allure of 5 star, it’s the attention to detail, the pristine accommodation - this place was dirty, I was shocked. So much so that when we requested turn down, they made the beds (sloppily) the trash wasn’t changed, the bathtub wasn’t cleaned, and I was stunned to see that they left dirty coffee cups and didn’t replenish the coffee pods given. We were in their junior suite, which is supposedly one of the nicer newly renovated rooms, I can’t IMAGINE what the others were like.

To make matters worse, we had to call multiple times to get anyone to answer the phone to ask for the coffee, which came - but the sugar didn’t. Later that night room service never answered the phone and my husband had to go down to the restaurant to order our food. THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE - frozen burger patties? Not 5 star. The breakfast we paid extra to have included had a broken coffee machine and when we asked for coffee from the cafe, we were met with twisted faces and a no that required some reminding that coffee and breakfast go together. The options were again, limited and for 3 star, perfectly fine continental breakfast, but 5 star and you can’t even get an omelette or freshly cut fruit?

I then went down to the gym to get a quick workout in, I was met with 1 broken treadmill, 2 broken bikes, 1 bench and a rack of free weights. Honestly, the $1200 we paid to stay there could have easily upgraded that gym with second hand equipment from FB Marketplace. They should seriously consider that. We have a better gym in our house, which you should NOT be saying at a 5 star hotel. They would be better off just not having a gym. Seriously, rather than trying 3 broken machines - then just going back upstairs, then not being able to get food. My husband and I usually don’t write bad reviews because it’s so subjective, but this place doesn’t deserve anywhere near 5 stars. For the positives, the grounds were gorgeous, absolutely stunning gardens, and the proximity to the open range zoo was great.

We stayed recently as guests of a wedding that took place at the W’bee Mansion. Was looking forward to the stay knowing that the venue was in disrepair through comments from the wedding party. My feedback is not a reflection on the staff as most were very kind and helpful but of the management behind the Mansion to allow it to get to such a state. 1. Check-In. I had requested an early checkin which could not be guaranteed. Luckily we were able to checkin early and my husband returned with our baggage. He needed help getting baggage to our room which was in the first floor…. but… there was no one to help and the elevator was not operational. It was either being repaired or replaced. This is despite receiving sms text messages from Lancemore advising that the “Hotel Team will be able to assist with luggage during your stay”. The hotel staff that manned the desk when my husband returned with baggage told my husband that “we don’t have a porter” when help was sought. Looks like management needs to work on their communication with staff. 2. Booking. The room rack rate was cheaper than the wedding packing which included a 10% discount (our booking). The package was supposed to include complementary champagne on arrival but this was not mentioned to my husband or myself. 3. Suite Room. The room size was lovely and it was comfortable. The room faced a small park/garden which was perfect for us with a young baby. The AC was functional but the room was naturally cool and well ventilated. HOWEVER, the room was in disrepair. - Broken blinds on balcony door which made getting in and out a difficult. You really had to be good at Limbo. -Bathroom floor was dirty around toilet from previous stays. -Bath had many large cracks in it and the in-bath shower design was not user friendly. Considering that the room was approximately $500 per night, we had expected more than what we found. The exterior or building also needed maintenance. The grounds itself seemed nice, well maintained. We understand that the past few years have been very hard for the hospitality industry, and now compounded by the labour shortage. While we can overlook staffing issues, the maintenance issues appear to the long-standing and could have been rectified a lot earlier. Buffet breakfast and in-room dining was lovely. Good food, good service, lovely staff. If these things can be addressed then the experience would be very memorable for the right reasons.

The room we checked into had a urine smell near the back right side bed head. We opened the window to get a large moth out & found it hadn’t been dusted for who knows how long? Cob webs & dust was unacceptable. The aircon couldn’t be adjusted from 17 & was freezing. With being on the ground floor you can’t have your blinds open with out someone walking past every 5 mins. No privacy at all! This caused us to request & room change. The front desk advised they were totally booked out & couldn’t help us, then miraculously 5 minutes later advised there was a cancellation & movers us to the second floor. Overall we were disappointed with the menu & bar selections. Very limited. The bar tender didn’t even know what a slow gin was. We ordered 2 cocktails again from a very limited selection & had to wait 12 minutes while the what looked like two managers were arguing over staffing issues or something & at one stage put down what she was pouring & both disappeared behind the bar to continue, all awhile we were sitting in front of them. The male of the two even looked at me a sort of shrugged at me! We thought this was the most unprofessional behaviour we’ve ever seen. The biggest disappointment was the high tea, we ordered the massage & high tea package & the massage was great but when we finally got the high tea out to us it was embarrassing. No savoury options which are noted in description, 3 x scones, 2 x mini meringues (20cent piece size if that) & 2 x squares of something else. We did get another pot of tea as by the time we received the cakes we’d finished the first pot. The champagne is what’s given away as you check in so for $120 this is an absolute joke. Lastly the parking is disgraceful. I don’t know why there is dirt roads al the way to hotel, I’m guessing the Lancemore is heritage listed of something similar & could afford to have a proper road. I’ve never had to get a hire car detailed before returning before until our stay at the Lancemore. Filthy car from dust to bird droppings cover. The Lancemore will definitely not be on my list of hotels to recommend. The Covid implementation of masks were definitely not meet with probably 80% of people working around inside with out their masks on.

We booked a family holiday to visit the Werribee Open Range Zoo and visit friends in the area. Having never stayed at the Lancemore previously, we booked a family suite with two rooms and it was fantastic! The rooms were separate yet joined by a private alcove, which allowed us to interact as a family whilst having the privacy of our own rooms. The beds were gloriously oversized and comfortable and the amenities were first rate. We ordered room service on two evenings, both times we were impressed with the quality of the food and speed of service. The kids loved the children's menu options and there was plenty of variety for my wife and I to choose from. The breakfasts served in Joseph's were a full on family pleaser too! Plenty of choice from both the hot buffet and cold items, and friendly and attentive service from the staff. A big shoutout to Julie in the restaurant for her excellent advice on entertainment options for the kids on the three rainy days we had on our stay. Her recommendations of a visit to Scienceworks and MoPA were ideal. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit!

Spacious, comfortable luxury. The hotel is steeped in old-world elegance.
Nearby activities
Werribee Open Range Zoo is a must-do for those with children! A really enjoyable day out, right on the hotel's doorstep. We also visited Shadowfax Winery Cellar Door, conveniently located around the corner from the estate. Their wines were vibrant and inviting, the food menu sounded devine (unfortunately we arrived post-lunch service and were unable to dine).
Food & drinks
Excellent food through all stages of the day. I recommend the devonshire tea served in the lobby bar for an afternoon pick me up!
Noteworthy details
My wife booked a massage treatment at the in-house LM Spa. She said it was one of the best treatments she has ever experienced!

We have found the best 5 star retreat at this amazing Lancemore Hotel which we have visited 6 times over the past 8 years. We are treated with the best luxury services. Joseph's fine dining restaurant Maitre D Victor knew that our last visit in August was for my Birthday. It was such a lovely surprise to be given a Happy Birthday chorus accompanied with a delicous Birthday cake! It has the best heated indoor pool & spa. Not to mention the best open fire place in the original Vestubal where the Church of England ceremonies were performed. The best place to celebrate a Wedding within the spacious Botanical manicured gardens. We are looking forward to spending many more visits to this stately Historical Mansion & Lancemore Luxury Hotel. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who have made this place such a sheer pleasure to stay & will continue to visit on a regular basis!

I’m going to be honest… I would have rated much higher but our room was terrible. I want to start by saying the customer service by the hotel staff was second to none! They were amazing from the moment we walked in. The food is incredible also at the restaurant. This review by no means has anything to do with the staff. It’s the room… when we walked in it was already very drab. The bare minimum for a high end hotel. The first thing we noticed was the lack in info about the hotel itself. How to do things, where to find things. There is a lack of room amenities with only a couple of tea bags and soft drinks to offer. The comfort of the room was terrible too. I little chair / chase to sit on.. then a big uncomfortable bed. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and I understand that can be a personal preference.. it’s easily solved with higher quality sheeting and a spare pillow or two ( make sure to bring your own pillows as theirs are old flat feather down slops) the temp in the room was almost unbearable. I’m 6 months pregnant and you can’t adjust the cooling. So the temp in the room all night was a hot 25d! When we went to bed we then realized there were not power points by the bed for phones charging. We found one under the table but make sure u don’t want to charge your phone at night.. the master switch to turn the lights off also turns all the power points off so unless u want to sleep with your lights on in the bathroom.. you can’t charge your phone. Speaking of the bathroom. The shower over bath was small, slippery and had no exhaust. So by the time u finish a quick shower in a tiny room.. there is so much moisture on the floor you could really hurt yourself. No rail to hang onto either. The TV is small. The decor is dated and with not even an openable window it was like a gross, humid hot box. I won’t be returning unfortunately.

This is the first time I’m leaving a bad review at any hotel in Australia. We booked this hotel thinking that there would be a sauna and a steam room as is listed on the hotel website and these facilities were not available. First, there isn't even a sauna on site, secondly, the steam room was not operating. The spa was closed for one of the days we were there so massages were not an option (which also was not advertised on the website). The rate was extremely expensive for what you get and even though "breakfast is included" we were told breakfast starts at 7 am and concludes at 9 am. Are we in the army? Or are we on holidays? That timing is completely unreasonable, especially for what you pay. Not only were the hours ridiculous, but we were told that in order to get food, we need to be there at 7am because by 9am all the food is finished!!! We also paid $45 for a "picnic" where the food was atrocious. The bread was stale, and we were given 1/4 of a sandwich each with some salami and some sort of beef thing (which we wouldn't even eat if we were starving). How does this reflect a $45 picnic? Further, the in house movies on our tv were not available. The bathroom was dirty and had stains on the ground. The whole hotel is extremely dark, including our room and the lamps in the room didn't work. We departed the hotel after a total of 1-2 hours given that the whole experience gave us anxiety and the prices are far too inflated for what you get. Customer service was poor, especially comparing with hotels across Melbourne that change similar prices. We didn't even end up staying the night because the evening was ruined. We asked for a refund but never received a response from the hotel which is also just plain bad customer service. Disappointing and waste of money.

I wish we had never stayed there. Absolute let down, our family suite was disgusting. The blinds are broken and don’t go up or down properly, not to mention how dirty they were. The quilt had blood stains and we were bitten by bed bugs as it was infested by them. The food selection was horrible along with the service, not to mention they never answer there phone when you call for room service. House keeping is disgraceful for a 5* hotel. I have never stayed at a 5* hotel that was so dirty, it’s something you would expect from a 3* hotel. The shower in one of the rooms is not sealed properly underneath and when you get out of the shower the bathroom is flooded. The main bathroom shower is just as bad with the shower head so close to the wall that you can’t shower properly as it is attached to the ceiling and you can’t adjust it. No one helps you with your luggage, no bell boy! 2 Support workers and a client on a wheelchair and no help from anyone. You have to load the trolley yourself and unload it. The reception staff don’t give clear instructions on where everything is. For example I asked the girl where the ramp is to bring the trolley up and she replied “it’s just over there, and pointed” This hotel needs a major renovation of the rooms and a change in housekeeping. The hotel looks awesome from the outside but the inside is a very big disappointment. 5* to the people looking after the gardens and the day spa workers. If the hotel had a major renovation of the rooms and better housekeeping we would consider coming back but otherwise we would never stay there again. On top of this it is way overpriced for what it is. One more thing, if you are looking for a disability friendly Hotel, this is not for you. Absolutely disgusting!

Review for Lancemore Spa only. My partner and I booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage at the spa center. I was taken care of by Amy B. She was an extremely great therapist and was very professional. I was relaxed and was able to destress throughout the session and my partner even fell asleep during. We did have an issue at the start with reception because the telephone booking I had made weeks prior which I double checked when speaking over the phone was not made to my specification. Hence our start time was delayed and if I did not mention that it was in fact a birthday gift session for my partner, I am sure they would of not accommodated for our original booking specification. If I could recommend an improvement, it would be for emails to be replied to (reception on the day stated they get over 400 emails which was redundant for a guest to consider) and for booking confirmation to also include type of treatment and duration of treatment. Due to the omission of the duration for my booked treatment (I booked 90 minutes), on the day I was told I that was unlikely as they did not offer 90 minutes for 'remedial'. In fact, I had clarified via phone during the booking if remedial was the same as deep tissue which the online price list did itemized 90 minutes deep tissue. Thus upon arrival and checking in, it was a five minute 'he said, she said' of what I 'supposed' could not have booked. The second receptionist was able to fix up the issue. Other than that, my partner and I had a good time receiving the massage. I highly recommend Amy B.

The room was grubby. Fingerprints on mirror, bathroom sliding door and benches. There were 6 flies in our bedroom. 4 alive, 2 dead. Information is hard to find in the room folder. Phone number extensions For reception, restaurant and room service were filed under each heading so you had to flip through to find details. No dedicated phone list. We rang room service 5 times on Friday afternoon before anyone picked up. Very limited room service menu. On Saturday night I left the hotel to go to the shops. While I was out I rang the hotel so I could be put through to my room. I rang 4 times and no answer. The room was tiny. Only one chair in the room so one of us had to sit on the bed when eating. I’m really disappointed, given I had booked so far in advance (8 months) and was really excited to be staying a couple of nights at a “historic” venue. The air conditioning/heating was either on with fan running full speed or off. Could not adjust the fan level. It was extremely noisy. The road to the mansion is not sealed and is covered with a sandy gravel/dirt. It was very bumpy with loads of potholes. The carpark was also covered in the same material and given the amount of rain over the weekend, we were covered in sandy dirt and mud for the entirety of our stay. Overall, really disappointed. It is very tired and not worth the price.

Stayed here for a one night girls trip getaway last night. Really wanted to have the most amazing getaway but it was pretty average sadly. Rooms - Venetian blinds and no blockout curtain which meant flooding sunshine first light so impossible to sleep in but also through the night the lights from the adjacent building streamed in making it hard to fall asleep. Pillows are way too soft without any options of firmer ones in their cupboards. There was a lot of noise on our floor, not sure if hotel guests were having a party but loud talking and sounds of furniture being moved around. Bed was generous size and comfortable, but thanks to the noise, lack of blockout blinds and pillows I barely slept ! Such a pity as we were three mums on a weekend away and were hoping to get a peaceful and comfy nights sleep! Room service was hard to get through, took us numerous times to connect to place an order. Joseph’s restaurant experience was sadly disappointing and overpriced. $83 for two courses where food was pretty average and sides totally underwhelming. I had the Cape Grim steak which was good, but probably not worth the additional $10 on the 2 course price. Brekkie at the restaurant was ok, would be great to have omelettes to order and barista coffee included in the price rather than charging $4.70 per coffee!

Positive note-Beautiful grounds, lovely vogue dinner and great dinner service. Bed was extra large than a king and comfortable once you got adjusted to the mattress. Room size was average and bathroom small. The Mansion was lovely to visit with a self guided tour that we enjoyed. The Rose garden was beautiful too. On a negative note- complimentary wine arrived late and hot. Chardonnay with no bucket of ice. Glasses were marked with fingertips. bathroom saturated as the fan was not working. shower situated in bathtub and when showering ,,water everywhere. Tv was not working efficiently and kept pixelating. We had a massive horizontal spotlights shinning into our room all, night and blinds could not cover the light streaming in. Restless sleep!! Most importantly of all the sanitization of their service at Breakfast was appalling considering we have a Covid situation. Tables were not sanitized between service of customers for the exception of one waitress who did the right thing on one table only. Our experience for this wedding anniversary (which was not even acknowledged upon arrival ) was not enjoyable at all and will not be returning. PS if you do decide to visit, Do not park your car under their trees as we have a black car and by the next day it was white ! covered with bird poop from top to bottom :-( just what we needed to add to the trip.

This place talks big game and simply fails to deliver. Lance more Mansion Werribee is clearly relying on history and beautiful grounds to get them through. I have stayed in 5 star joints the world over and this place is barely scraping to get 3 stars. From almost non-existent front of house staff to indifferent, bordering on rude F&B staff and absolutely no-one ever answering the room service phone, this place blows. We had the junior suite paying $560 per night, and to say it is dated would be a gross understatement. Too many things missing in the room to mention them all. Stayed two nights. On day two we came back to the room looking like it had been made up by our three year old. Actually, I think she could have done a better job. My wife and I ended up laughing at the overall experience, which was defined in a moment by me traipsing the hotel at 630am hunting milk, coffee and cups, tripping over the previous nights room service tray. Spoiler alert, I washed the cups from the dirty tray. I usually like to give places a second chance if I like the location. With this mob? Hmm, let me think about that… That’s a hard pass! You guys and gals at Lancemore had better shape up before that next five star review!

The breakfast and dinner was great and the staff in the restaurant were all great. Bar staff were also very attentive and room cleaning excellent. That was all great. What we were disappointed on were the following. There is no concierge at the door or anywhere to be seen. You’re on your own loading and unloading your car. Did not even get any assistance from staff that just watched us struggle with bags. Nobody made any attempt to assist with bags. You’re on your own. Do remember this is a 5 star hotel. There are a lot of areas in and out of the hotel that badly require maintenance. it’s easy to see. We were there all weekend and we paid extra to leave about 1 pm on the Sunday. They actually called our room even sent a person at 1:05 pm to see we had left the room. Are they so paranoid with guest leaving on time. I would see the point them call at 1:15 or even later but 5 mins past the hour, that’s insulting in my book. I have spent time in many many hotels all over the world and this hotel is not 5 star. Don’t get me wrong There were areas that were good and we did have a comfortable and relaxing weekend but there were aspects that certainly did not meet a five star rating.

Had the misfortune to stay the weekend at this allegedly 5 star hotel. I have already left a review about the hotel so now it is the turn of the restaurant. Booked for dinner and saw the steak was $47 dollars which was just served with hand cut chips...they were not, they were out of a packet. No sauce offered no salad, nothing. Decided on principle to have the texas burger, supposed to have all sorts in it, it was a burger with a cheese slice and a lettuce leaf. Hand cut chips? I don't think so. Decided to leave asap and when I got the bill for over $100 dollars I was charged $1 for aioli ??? Would I have been charged for salt and pepper I wonder. The whole restaurant food was done with the least cost and effort, not fine dining as befits a five star hotel. Breakfast was cold tomatoes, fat soaked cold bacon and the list goes on yuk. It gets worse, booked the high tea at $85 pp. Tinned salmon stale white bread, rock hard scones. Totally disgusting to put this out as a high tea. Again scrimping on quality and to save a dollar. The staff have been exemplary in every way but surely they must know how unhappy people are.? Would never ever stay here and recommend it to anyone. Ruined my anniversary weekend, could not wait to get home to a decent meal.

  • Alana Butler

Promising weekend ruined by understaffed restaurants, plus one exceptionally rude staff member. The rooms, pool facilities, food itself and majority of staff could not be faulted. But what was found most disappointing was that at both dinner and breakfasts the restaurants were understaffed and in a shambles. Unfortunately being unexpectedly busy is not a possible excuse, on one morning the buffet breakfast was practically empty and yet we waited more than 30 minutes for food to be provided. The second morning with wedding and party guests out in full force, food was out on time, however there were only 2 poor girls left to look after 50+ people. I waited over 50 minutes for a coffee with no explanation that it would be delayed or apology for such slow service. And when simply requesting that the coffee be served at the bar so I could free up a table for 6 was spoken to so rudely and maliciously I could not believe it. Looking at dirty tables and a bar top that were not cleared for over 25 minutes and then watching guests try to clear tables and clean up after others in order to find somewhere decent to sit was the icing on the cake. Could definitely find nicer places to go with better standards when you are paying this much money.

Arrived on Saturday thinking we could have a nice anniversary weekend of relaxation having booked the "wine & dine" package. When we arrived, the hotel was overflowing with 3 weddings! I rang up for a pillow service as advertised in the room and was told they'd run out of all pillows, couldn't even get a normal pillow but was offered a cushion from the lobby. Thought we'd have a nice steam and relax instead, but turns out the gents steam room was out of order "sorry for the inconvenience" so husband ended up catching a chill walking back to the room! Halls were scattered with dirty dishes and room service trays, to top it off there was a foul smell in our room like rotten eggs! The only saving grace was the restaurant but service of the meals was so slow it took 45min between entres and mains.. so all in all 2.5hours for 3 course dinner! Thought we'd have a drink in the "library" as indicated when booking the package but was told it was booked for a private function - we were offered a seat in the lobby instead. All in all the worst 5 star hotel I've stayed in. They need to rethink how they sell themselves to leisure clients on weekends as obviously they cater mainly for wedding crowds! Disappointed!

I have never left negative review at anywhere before but I needed to do this for customers. I could not sleep at all from fan in my room which was automatically on whole time and the noise was very loud. Also I could smell drainage from bathroom which is in front of bed. I was upset because I paid $250 for the room and I was missing my home during the night. Also because the hotel room is bit dirty and not well maintained, I was very uncomfortable. Staff at the hotel seemed not happy working there and they were talking about negative issues of the hotel in front of customers and at the breakfast waitress seemed stressed because they don’t have enough staff and they kept saying sorry to customers to keep them wait. I felt sorry for them. From my experience of this hotel, I felt the owner and manager only care about wedding venue and garden and they don’t want to spend money for accommodation and staff as outside of wedding area is pretty dirty. If this hotel say it’s 2 star hotel I wouldn’t write here but they say it’s 5 star hotel. This is not acceptable for customers.

Overall experience is not the best for the amount I paid for. Firstly, finding the hotel is really difficult. If you had updated google maps mentioning the gate number it would make peoples' lives so much better. Then I rang the hotel to ask how to get there and there's only a recording and hangs up after a while. Secondly, the arrival was good and the staff were pretty friendly and helpful. Thirdly, I noticed that 2 of the drinks in the mini bar was expired and its a very ignorant act only makes me believe that the management doesn't care about the well being of the visitors. I walked towards the gymnasium through the back of the kitchen and it smelled really bad and was scared how the food is made. I understand the lake can be smelly but if the reception smell is good I'm sure it can be managed. I also noticed moldy like patches on the sheets and it was disgusting. The tap of the sink is pretty loud too. Honestly, I wanted a really nice break after a tiring week of work and sad to say I did not receive it. Clearly a motel would have been so much better than this '5 star hotel'.

My partner and I had the pleasure of having our wedding at Lancemore Mansion Hotel in Werribee Park. Words cannot describe how appreciative we are towards the wonderful Caroline who is an Events Coordinator there. From our fantastic wedding taste testing experience to the master run through meetings, the team here really went above and over to ensure we had the best day. We had the library as our bridal suite for the morning and stayed two nights over in the hotel. The food is amazing, and all our guests raved about how different it was from your traditional wedding menu. From the chefs to the general staff and Directors, the team at Werribee are lovely and it is clear that customer service is front of mind. The only advice I would provide for to-be-brides thinking of booking, is to ask about the limitations you might face with Parks Victoria in terms of bump out/in, and confetti. Overall, we are so grateful for our experience. Lancemore Mansion Werribee Park is a magical place with rich history and beauty like no other. We are so glad that we chose this location for our special day.

We booked a room here for our anniversary, an expensive room. I didn’t have a terrible time but it was definitely NOT what I had expected from this “Grand” 5 star hotel. I thought it would be something special! Like a glass of champagne or something on arrival, an offer to take your bags and show you yo your room. I just wanted something that made the mansion experience more than just arriving and finding your own way to your quite small room that overlooks the carpark where the staff smoke. I have felt more special and welcome at a number of places in Melbourne that don’t advertise as a luxury type escape. Breakfast was included but it wasn’t a great experience either - some people where given table service and others to the buffet which was quite akward. A barista made coffee was at an extra cost?! we were also told someone would come and take an egg order but no one even seemed to notice we were there. Just an average stay at an average hotel that offered nothing to make it stand out, or to warrant the high cost. Shadowfax Winery WAS fabulous though.

This was my first stay at the mansion and having stayed at other Lancemore hotels I had high expectations. These were met without fail! On arrival I was greeted by the wonderful reception team, welcoming me to the mansion, and inviting me to enjoy the various spaces the mansion has to offer. It really is a true stay-cation with different lounges and other rooms to while away a two night stay. My room was exactly what I expected, comfortable, well appointed, and with all the essentials. We enjoyed an evening meal in Josephs one night, you must try the beef tataki! The other night we had dinner at Shadowfax winery which is just next door and a short walk; it's not part of the mansion but that's fine and it feels as if you are in the grounds the whole time. On check-out, we were asked to provide feedback which is unusual for a hotel. We find they're usually worried to ask. We'd love to come back again some time with friends. We learned on our stay that there is a special show at the mansion on offer, which we didn't get to do, but we've heard it's a real hoot!

We recently stayed at the Lancemore Mansion after receiving gift cards. My wife and I booked the Junior Suite with the Wine & Dine package. We warmly greeted by the front end staff and was given a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival. The room was extremely spacious, however there a few small issues, e.g. no batteries for lights in make-up mirror and no room service menu available. We thoroughly enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu, however we moved 1.5 hours from our initial booking and were told the wrong information during check-in. The included breakfast buffet in the morning was extremely average. There were the basics and nothing more, the quality was also slightly below average, with extremely cardboard-like bacon and cold pastries that I suspected hadn't been deforested properly. In summary it was good without being great, however I think I'd be more disappointed if I paid 100% instead of using a gift card.

5 stars location, 5 stars staff, 5 stars breakfast but unfortunately 2/3 stars bedrooms. You get the feeling that all the furniture is "cheap" and now old. Wood is chipped in several points and being black you can't help but noticing it.The Cabinet doors, on the edge, have the laminate sheet coming off. The bed is big and comfortable but there's no bedhead. There's no light on the ceiling, you 'll have to use the lamps on the bedside tables or on the TV bench. Regarding facilities, Gym is too small whereas swimming pool is nice even though the columns along the edges have the bottom tiles worn out by the water ( there's also a big tile missing) . Not pleasant to see. The staff is really amazing ready to help and keen to make you comfortable. But having paid 399$ for a superior room you just get the feeling that is tremendously overpriced. Luckily staff and location compensate a bit but I won't be back. The rooms really need a deep renovation.

Settled in beautiful gardens, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy some nice walks. Unfortunately half the gardens were closed as they set up for an event. The hotel, however, is completely overpriced for the experience they actually deliver. I arrived and my room was not available, so I had to wait. I was not offer my complementary wine on arrival and had to ask for it myself. The blinds in the room and cheap and don’t block out the light. Pillows and mattress were too soft. The room service was extraordinarily overpriced, with a $6 fee too, for cold fries and a dry burger. The on site cafe is like a roadside convenience store in terms of what they offer. The on site restaurant is expensive for average food. At the breakfast the staff literally sprayed bleach on my table when my food was sitting there. There were no clean towels in the pool area and the virtual assistant doesn’t reply to any of your messages. This is NOT a 5 star experience.

  • John Yoon

The service is an OK but it is definitely not 5 star hotel as they position themselves. For example, from the beginning, a few items missing in toiletries, rooms are pretty basic, Stainless design of bathroom sink is questionable at best. Overall, everything is really basic and does create this wow effect for the very very high price. It looks like management is not trying... Swimming pool is great, steam rooms OK. Gym very basic and tiny. But everything is there like towels, beds etc. Again, not much too complain about but for the top price, I think a few things could be better. If you pay topp $$$ and want appreciate the comfort and service it is better to choose a different place. If price can be slashed then OK for a 4 star classification for this hotel.

5 Star gardens with a 2 - 3 star hotel. This hotel should not be displaying 5 stars! Don't get me wrong, the gardens are immaculate and worthy of 6 stars, but the accomodation, rooms and service are sub standard. The elevator to take you to the room floor looks like a service elevator, the rooms are dated and badly furnished, no bed head, blinds are falling apart, the electricity wall sockets short and can damage anything electrical you plug in, the safe didn't work, you ask to speak to management and no one contacts you back (remember, they classify and advertise themselves as a 5 star hotel). They charge 5 star rates for a 2- star stay! My suggestion is, go for the day and take a walk in the gardens, visit the zoo, even have lunch in the gardens, but then go stay at a proper 5 star hotel where you get better value for money!

Not 5 star and not worth the price. We stayed in the newer section of the hotel. Tiles in the bathroom are permanently stained and look dirty and the blinds don’t block out any light. You can’t charge your phone and turn the lights off in the room at the same time. Significant amount of sand/dirt was dragged into the hotel from the car park, through reception and up the stairs due to the grounds being wet when we stayed. Hotel also charged us for mini bar items not consumed (no items were consumed at all). We had to push and follow up for it to be refunded. I recommend you check your credit card a week after your stay because they won’t tell you they’ve charged you either. Breakfast was lovely and the grounds are beautiful, but it’s not living up to the prices charged and is far from other 5 star, comparably priced hotels.

I am disappointed by the facilities and cleanliness inside the hotel. The rooms are so outdated, it smells a little bit like a hospital or retirement home through the halls and is just generally stuffy. When checking in our beds were not two as requested, and later we also found the previous guests underwear and top in our room. I mean .. human error is ok but still definitely not a 5 star experience or worth $400. The cafe is also more like something you'd see in an old shopping centre. The bright side is that the staff is all extremely professional, nice and welcoming. Super accommodating and made our stay a good experience nonetheless. Of course the grounds are beautiful but I think that next time I'd just spend the day there instead of actually sleeping in one of the rooms.

We stayed at Werribee Mansion hotel three weeks ago and couldn't fault the amenities and impeccable service. From the time we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady named Natalie with a glass of champagne for ourselves and our guests from New Zealand whilst our check in was being processed. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the buffet breakfast was amazing overlooking the views of the lovely gardens. After a very hearty breakfast we enjoy a walk around the beautiful gardens and learnt the history of the wonderful buildings and surrounds. Later we indulged in a sensational massage in the spa centre followed by a relaxing swim and spa to top off our weekend. Many thanks to Natalie and staff for their prompt and delightful greeting and service during our stay. We are looking forward to our next visit for a very relaxing enjoyable weekend.

5 star hotel? What a joke. The room was tiny and tired. The electrics were faulty. I could not charge my phone in the bedroom, without having the light on, in the bathroom. The restaurant was far from, fine dining. Average pub food standard and not the greatest of service. The cooked breakfast was cold. The whole hotel needs an upgrade. Expensive rip off. The Reception staff were lovely and professional. The bar was uninviting. No ambiance. No fire. Uncomfortable seats. The grounds are lovely, but that does not justify the prices being charged for the hotel. I have stayed in a Lancemore Hotel, on the Mornington Peninsula. Different class altogether. That was 5 star. Werribee is not. Shame on you, Lancemore.

This was our first stay at a hotel in the Lancemore chain, and we will definitely stay again. It was a very last minute reservation (booked at 6:30pm, checked in at 8pm) but the staff were accommodating and lovely. The room was a little smaller than expected, however we didn't spend too much time in it during our 2 night stay so it was alright. If we were staying for longer I would probably want to stay in a larger room if they have them available. The grounds that the hotel is on are stunning and we are already planning another trip in the spring or summer to really make the most of the gardens surrounding the building. All in all, a wonderful staycation. It's not cheap but it was well worth it.

My first time to Werribee Park and Mansion in over 20 years and didn't really know what to expect, but ended up having a great hotel stay! The surrounding gardens are beautiful and the hotel itself is absolutely lovely. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant where Debbie looked after us and was very attentive. It would have been great if there were some spotlights out in the surrounding gardens at night, as I'm sure it would have been a beautiful view from the restaurant. Breakfast was also good and what you expect from a hotel buffet; a big thanks to Saurabh who looked after us that morning too! Overall a great stay, thanks Lancemore team.

The palace is beautiful esp the outside and the location is superb. It's wonderful to have the view of the zoo and the animals. The silence and the sense of calm is wonderful. The gardens are wonderful as well. The decor inside the hotel does not match the wonderful surroundings though-especially the bathrooms that are decorated in steel vs tiles or some other beautiful material. It makes the room look cheap and out of place. However the biggest let down is food. For such a pricey dinner (2course meal) the food was below average and I did not enjoy the main nor the dessert. The following day we went to Geelong to an Italian restaurant and paid 3 times less and food was superb. I would go back for the ambient but would eat elsewhere.

My partner and I made a returned visit to Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park for my birthday weekend. The experience was phenomenal as always. We tried the Sparkling Indulgence Package at the spa to celebrate, and it was such a relaxing and de-stressing experience. The staff in the hotel were accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure my partner and I were having a great stay. Thank you to Victor and staff in the restaurant for making my birthday dinner one to remember - they even came out and sang happy birthday! Thanks again to the Lancemore team, we will definitely return.

I booked a Conference at this venue and not only was the venue stunning, but the amazing team were too. Gabby and Joy helped organise the whole event, kept in contact with me leading into the event and ensured everything was prefect for check in. To help us throughout the days we were there, we had Jade and kirstie who not only ensured our food arrived on time, they were available to us to help with anything we needed, including tech support! Our team left the venue commenting on how successful it was and how smooth everything ran. Cannot thank the incredible team here enough for everything and i cannot praise them enough! Thank you Gabby, Joy, Jade and Kirstie. Absolutely beautiful service. A job well done! X

Was here for a wedding on the weekend. Beds were amazing, it was like sleeping on a cloud, the amenities were awesome and the garden grounds was so beautiful. However, I can happily say I would not recommend this for anyone who is looking for a wedding venue. The lack of communication and organisation was terrible. There was no signage for the event, staff was rude to direct guest to the reception. NO light in the toilets – major hazard! Photo booth was not accessible due to venue lack on communication with organiser. It was located behind the dark portable toilets and to get to the photo booth it was a rocky gravel pathway. Definitely not good for those in nice dress shoes and heels. Had high expectation for this place, it’s such a shame how it all turned out.

  • Jenna Rao

A disappointing experience to say the least. The rooms are tiny, the heritage room would be uncomfortable for 1, let alone 2 adults and a toddler. There’s less than 60 cm space around the edges of the bed and a sliding door to a toilet and that’s it. Appalling. Upon booking we were reassured every room had a bathtub and this is not the case. We were also told there’s a causal dining menu available at the bar for groups not wanting formal dining in the restaurant. The bar is a bar without chairs. So standing dinner and the casual dining menu is 5 items and two of those were hot chips. For a hotel with such a high reputation we were significantly disappointed and won’t be back.

The manor House itself is lovely. It's an italianate gem set in landscaped gardens all lovingly restored. Admission is free for hotel guests and is well worth the half an hour a quick trip round will take. The hotel itself is of good quality, the rooms are comfortable, of not massive, and front of house were great to deal with, relaxed, friendly but clearly very professional. The kitchen is superb, both dinner and breakfast were wonderful, although while breakfast catered to all possible pallets I think my elderly in-laws where a little confronted by having grilled bone marrow accompany their steaks. The only fly in this otherwise fine ointment was an exceedingly grumpy waiter at our breakfast service. All in all, though, a great weekend get away.

What a wonderful stay at lancemore Werribee Park! I came here for a weekend with friends but I can't wait to return with my family. The grounds and adjacent park are stunning as is the historic mansion. The stand out for me was wonderful service. Lovely Debbie was so genuine at dinner service and Surab was always ready with a smile. Renee at the Cafe was so sweet to chat to. I'd love to see more local goods in the Cafe to enjoy in the parklands for a morning - seems the perfect location for it. Parks staff were also so friendly and knowledgeable with the gardens and historic mansion. I can't wait to return with more time to fully enjoy and educate myself in this stunning part of Victoria!

Stayed at the hotel the night before my brother’s wedding. Was very disappointed in the service. Our room was quite a distance from checkin and was given no help with getting luggage to the room. The door key did not work so we called the front desk with no answer so had to walk all the way back to get help. Went to the cafe which closes at 10pm had some dinner and then wanted a coffee and was advised they had already cleaned the machine and it was 9:05pm. The hotel itself is beautiful and I cannot complain about room etc it was lovely. The breakfast buffet staff were is lovely and very helpful.

Such a disappointing experience ! We got the high tea & spa package and although the high tea was great the massage was horrible. The massage therapist was lovely however very inexperienced and I felt as if I was a model for a beauty course. I asked the therapist several times to please slow it down as it was really rushed and rough. She forgot to massage the feet and I felt as though she had forgotten the routine and was just making up techniques which was like rubbing the back up and down with no actual technique. I was so confused as to what she was doing and really uneasy throughout the massage. I would recommend requesting a senior therapist if you’re going to spend that money on a massage :)

Spent the weekend over at Lancemore hotel for my husbands birthday. Unfortunately, this short getaway was not good at all! The superior room was so small and did not look as large as it did in the images online. There was two small windows, there was two lamps and no proper light. No fan in the bathroom The minibar had all expired drinks. The were no bed head, the mattress was not comfortable, there was a foul smell in the room. There was damage on the walls and the wardrobe door was all worn out and scratched. I honestly believe that the pricing, the images and the actual hotel are all a scam. I won't be staying here ever again nor will i be recommending it to any of my friends and family.

This was a surprise Birthday present for my husband. You park your car at the Hotel and all is walking distance. The Mansion and the beautiful gardens, Winery, Werribee Zoo are great to visit. The Meal in the Hotel was absolutely enjoyable. You are in a five star Restaurant so you pay for that meal which is worth the experience. Beef Cheeks were fantastic. The service from entering the Hotel greeted with a glass of Champagne, The Restaurant Food and The Breakfast was of very polite and professional. Experience the Spa, Heated Pool and all facilities around. This is a must for a weekend or Visitors to Victoria. Great Experience Thank you to all the Staff.

My partner and I checked in for a two night indulgence package but despite the lockdown being announced, in the six hours we had there, we had the best service and were made to feel so welcome. It's such a romantic location with the gardens and heritage buildings and the interior of the lobby is just beautiful. We felt extra spoiled in the restaurant, Jospeh's - the food was exquisite and the service was thoughtful and attentive (special shout out to reception staff, James and the restaurant team). We will definitely be back and can't wait to explore the spa and other hotel facilities.

The service at LM Spa was absolutely amazing. I purchased a relaxation massage for myself and my best friend and we accidentally ended up lost on the way to the mansion and ended up half an hour late to our appointment. All of the staff were so incredibly understanding and patient. Not to mention, they didn’t charge us a late fee and we still got to have our full one hour massage without feeling rushed AT ALL. The level of care from the staff during the massage was second to none and was honestly one of the best treatments i’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend and would return!

We stayed one night for my friends birthday. We had a great time - treatments in the spa were excellent and we enjoyed the high tea and a dinner. I do not believe it was a 5 star experience. For example - there was no hot water for the time we were there. So we ended up being cold during our spa treatments after cold showering off the body scrub, and weren’t able to shower in the morning, or wash chlorine off after using the pool. For some people this would be a health risk. There was also really loud music playing outside out room until midnight - I think most guests would be trying to sleep before then. The staff we encountered were helpful.

  • Laura Ferguson

Terrible experience at this hotel. Definitely not 5 star, they’re totally riding on prior reputation rather than current standards. Really bad smell at the end of the corridor near to the pool/spa. The restaurant has really gone down hill since the last time we were here. Overhearing multiple other diners complaining as we were seated for dinner, we should have gone elsewhere. Our order was forgotten - waited over an hour for service. Quality of food was terrible. Just so disappointed with the whole experience - feeling very ripped off and will not be returning.

The staff are incredibly friendly and was the redeeming factor in our stay. Unfortunately the rooms are dated and on the small side, the windows are perspex which can't be opened, the pool is ageing and the fitness centre is essentially just some small weights, a treadmill and a bike. The sauna is actually two small gendered saunas, one in the male and one in the female changing rooms. Two stars were for the staff, the bar (cocktails were delicious), breakfast, and the grounds/mansion itself (which were beautiful).

This was a disappointing experience for what is claimed to be a 5 star hotel. On arrival I was surprised at how small the 'Superior' room was and called reception to see if I could upgrade to a junior suite. Despite there being 5 suites showing as available on their website, reception told me none were available. The bathroom is also very small and there is no separate shower (over bath). The rooms were very dated and in need of a makeover. The restaurant was quite good and the service was also good. Overall, this hotel is overrated and overpriced. I would not seek to return

We had a disability friendly room which wasn't very useable. The bathroom was well planned but zero turning room for wheelchair and slippery floors. If wheelchair is greater than 16 inches you won't fit to access the bed. Room service is not great with calls often unanswered and very limited options. Staff were lovely but compared to other accommodation I think this is extremely over priced and over rated for what it is. Great location if visiting the area.

We stay at the Mansion Hotel on a regular basis and each time we've truly enjoyed the entire experience - and one of the main reasons we go (aside from the incredible grounds and super friendly & attentive staff) is Joseph's Restaurant! The amazing chefs were able to craft up and serve a delicious VEGAN degustation for us - it was super creative, delicious, and well presented! If you're a plant-based eater for whatever the reason, and find yourself at the Mansion Hotel - make sure to request the VEGAN degustation - you won't be disappointed! Highly recommended!

The hotel is nice but the service was very poor paid for a three course meal but ended up with a tasting plate. Had to go out after for some normal food. Ordered a drink for dinner at the start. Had to ask 3 times where it was. Never arrived. Spa treatments were amazing but the hotel service is the worst I have ever seen. No one cares at all about the guest's. Thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay and it was an absolute pleasure to be treated with such caring hospitality by Victor in the evening and Sung at breakfast. Would highly recommend the Mansion Hotel to any one, and if you are wanting that personal touch, then quieter nights like a Monday or Tuesday would be our suggestion, as you have a better opportunity to converse with the staff and show them your appreciation for the hard work they do. And one other thing........The size of our al a carte beakfast was enormous.

I want to say I absolutely loved the entire experience at the hotel. As soon as Katie in reception said "Relax, you're with us now" I knew and felt completely at ease and knew my weekend would be perfect. It was more than perfect. Great value, incredible service, amazingly kind, friendly and accommodating staff. Such memorable experiences with enchanting ambience and exquisite charm. I proposed during my stay and my now fiance felt like she was absolute royalty thanks to everyone and everything on offer at the mansion, grounds and hotel.

Booked in advance via telephone for Sunday lunch and surprised to find lunch not being served just high tea. Despite advising waiting staff one of guests does not eat cheese, items arrived with cheese. All issues were resolved and we had a nice afternoon tea. We have enjoyed high teas in Victoria and other states and feel the price is higher and nothing different to warrant this. Gravel driveway and carpark in poor state of repair. We have visited multiple times over past 10 or so years and the condition just continues to deteriorate.

Had the standard room, not bad for 2 people but a little small and tight. Just note that they don’t do twin beds; I requested this beforehand but got no luck. The best thing about this hotel is not the rooms, but access to the things around it; the rose gardens, the mansion, the zoo and the surrounding grounds. The gardens are amazing and great for a day out for picnic, the rose gardens are excellent for some photos and the mansion is well worth for a bit of history. Breakfast service was nice, food came out timely.

Food and The pool were amazing. Views and grounds incredible. But the rooms for what you are paying. Not worth it at all. Room was a massive letdown. My sister stayed in a room the same nights we were there and the room was half the price of what we paid for a night and the room she was in may have been smaller her bathroom was much better and didn’t have to shower in a bathtub. Also we came here because of the amazing swimming pool, we didn’t see anything mentioned swimming pool is closed on the website and when we checked in then we knew. Plus on the welcome sheet in the room mentioned how to go to swimming pool. So what should I follow ?!? That’s crazy.

The place is an old monastery I believe set in lovely grounds. I had a small room but clean. Quite noisy air con. Breakfast quite good selection but I always hate those nasty spoons caked full of cold food in the dishes at the buffet. Wonderful coffee/latte/capo's. Dining room is last orders by 8pm so don't be late for dinner. Bar is open later. There is a room next door with an open fire which was quite nice. Friendly staff. Overall, a nice place for a business meeting/workshop.

We had a perfect check in experience, greeted by Christina with bubbles on arrival. Our room, the grounds, hotel facilities and amenities were perfect. Unfortunately this hotel is let down by bar service, ie bar and wait staff. Whilst the drinks and food were fantastic, I can’t give it 5 stars because there was an alarming lack of efficiency, knowledge and ownership by the bar/wait staff. It must be a training issue. I hope it improves because otherwise we had a wonderful time.

As a guest you would want to feel special, especially when you're staying there on your wedding day. We were booked for 2 nights, got there with no welcome note at all. What welcomed as though, was a dead moth under our pillows. The scent of the bathroom also wasn't good. Toiletries missing in the bathroom and still had to request. Overall for a $400+ a night, definitely not worth it.

Awesome place to stay with checking staff extremely efficient and nice. Rooms were very comfortable with all the required amenities. Breakfast was very generous with the selection, super clean and fresh. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Lovely buildings and gardens that makes the stay a memorable one.

We held a business conference here recently and the service was outstanding! Nothing was too much to ask. Our guests were amazed by the beautiful venue and gardens. I would highly recommend staying here or hosting any event! We will definitely be going back here. Thanks to the whole team for making our event so special :)

A very beautiful and historical hotel, great view to walk around, and very close by rose garden and Zoo. The room was comfortable and clean, but is not soundproof enough, I can hear outside clearly if someone talking. Also the bread of breakfast, it makes me a little disappointed, it wasn’t hot, and quite dry and hard, like leftovers…

The Mansion and grounds are great. The staff are very friendly. When we had a problem with the air-conditioning in our room we were moved immediately with a complimentary bottle of bubbly. Menu could have a little more variety for smaller meals, tapas etc. The restaurant needs a bit more variety and not a set menu. The pool was great. Rooms good but not great.

First time since our last lockdown staying at a hotel. The customer service was phenomenal. From when we first arrived we were given a complimentary glass of bubbles. Super friendly staff from reception to the wait staff. Very accomodating and allowed a late check out. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a getaway that is not too far from metro Melbourne.

Lovely welcome at reception. The grounds of the Hotel are very well maintained. Wide, attractive hallways. Clean, well appointed rooms. Very comfortable bed. Delicious dinner in Joseph's restaurant. Very attentive staff at breakfast. Enjoyed the indoor pool and spa. A great visit.

My daughter and I had a spa and lunch package a few weeks ago. We arrived early with our bathers and they let us have a swim and hot spa before our wonderful massage and facial. The staff were amazing! We had a delicious 2 course lunch and wine and a lovely walk in the gardens afterwards. Special day with my daughter and will definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Was here for a work conference for 3 days. Conference facilities were good. Had free time to wander around to see the mansion. Beautiful history and grand mansion. Nice secluded location. I saw the giraffes and zebras from far when going for a run. Rooms were clean and loved their soap range! Nice heated indoor pool. There's a small gym but its nicer to go out for a run. Fresh air. Definitely recommend this and will be back.

Fantastic service, surrounding environment and breakfast, but the standard room is showing it’s age. Walls are paper thin and all sorts of noises will keep you up at night, party people in the hallway, machine noises, fridge in the room, drain pipes. Hotel staff was kind enough to let us check out early and refund the difference. Advise others to enquire if there are weddings or events booked to ensure a good night sleep.

Beautiful hotel with a lot of history. great to walk around the grounds, rooms were nice, staff are very friendly, Buffet breakfast was not the biggest, but did the job. Wifi was not working during our time there, TV's are not smart tv so no youtube, netflix etc, gym is incredibly small. We enjoyed of our time there

It's a nice place. The spa was good as was the swimming pool. The rooms have wooden Venetian blinds which don't really block the light at night. The AC was really loud. The power sockets by the bed are connected with light switches somehow so can't charge things overnight. The bed was huge and comfortable though with lots of pillows to choose from. The restaurant was good but slightly overpriced for what they offer.

We decided to have a weekend away and chose the indulgence package at the Mansion Hotel. Included is a four course meal, 60min massage for two and a bottle of champagne. It was such a luxurious weekend away the grounds were beautiful to walk around and the staff were so friendly. Next time we would upgrade our room choice to have a bit more space (and a spa bath) but apart from that we would love to come here again!

  • alex m

Staff are very friendly but needs a revamp not much has changed since we went 10 years ago. The restaurant is not up to scratch for the prices they are charging. Things on the menu are not on the plate when served? Again staff are super helpful but management really needs to know the business better and what others provide at the same price point. Also don't forget to put your room card in backwards (printing error)

I attended a friend's wedding. Wasn’t really any signage for the guests to attend the ceremony causing many people to be late, when the guests asked the staff responded rudely. Toilet provided was not lighted and guests could've been injured using them, the use of tea lights to light the toilets isn’t good enough. Experience was diminished by the lack of coordination from Mansion hotel and Spa. Would not recommend.

Very luxurious hotel with beautiful rooms, facilities and even grounds with beautiful colorful flowers. The food is amazing with a very diverse menu. Rooms quite modern. Hotel is right next to the mansion. Many walking trails around. Ideal as business or leisure. Complimentary access to mansion and open range zoo included. Use biodegradable coffee takeaway cups making them environment conscious. Highly recommended

Went here for a wedding (ceremony and reception) which is not in the hotel itself but in the park outside. Great scenery especially for weddings. Long sandy/pebble road leading to the hotel though, so must drive slowly especially because speed bumps are not easily visible and to avoid spraying rocks/dust. Staff at the hotel were friendly. Restrooms are modern and spacious. Plenty of eating options inside.

  • Jen Handasyde

I visited the day spa with a friend for special occasion. Staff were friendly and helpful. Champagne and coffee were offered when asked. The pool area is very nice but the actually day spa area and change rooms are very dated and tired. Attention to detail is lacking. The mansion area as a whole is beautiful venue but they really need to do up the day spa.

We cant speak highly enough of our experience at the Lancemore hotel Werribee Park. We stayed 3 night mid January in this stunning location surrounded by manicure park and gardens. The hotel offer a great service with strong attention to detail, friendly staff, comfortable sleeping and delicious dining experience. Thank you to the hotel team for making our stay so special.

Very disappointed in the cleanliness of a 5 star hotel. Blinds were dirty and did not block the light out. The bathroom amenities were not complete. Not worth the money. I have stayed in other 5 star hotels were cleanliness was of high standard. The only thing that stood out was the restaurant manager. He is very attentive. will not recommended with the high prices they charge for rooms. nd funny.

We did a couples spa day and it was so lovely. They were able to accommodate my massage to a pregnancy friendly massage. The package included time in a hot tub (we could adjust the water to be pregnancy friendly), and some treats (including a non-alcoholic mocktail instead of champagne for me). I highly recommend this as a baby moon option!

Shanika is the most gorgeous staff member! Happy in her role with such a pleasant personality. Looked after us like we were here grandparents. If I have to find a criticism regarding the mansion it was that the blinds in the dining room were not at the same height! Says it all about our awesome stay at the mansion.

The staff where amazing and helpful, the location is truly unique, but the biggest let down was the rooms. Very dated decor, windows covered with cobwebs, weird light switch configurations which meant I couldn't have my lights off and charge my phone next to the bed, and the huge heavy glass doors for the bathroom.. so strage.

We chose to celebrate an important anniversary here. We were blown away by the amazing experience we had here and the spa. Staff were amazing. The treatment was bliss. They upgraded us because of our anniversary which was a very nice gesture. Try to go during a quiet period. Won't be disappointed.

Terrible, this is not a 5 Star Hotel, Cold shower and when we phoned, we got "better turn the water on" Most Electricity plugs in room didn't work. Food for Buffet restaurant was limited with burnt Bacon. My family attended for Birthday and were promised champagne for Birthday person but nothing. Had to carry luggage into and out of Hotel as no staff in sight to help.

This was an amazing way to spend Valentine's day with my partner! We had massages followed by a dip in the pool. The weather wasn't perfect but still really enjoyed a picnic lunch with champagne in the beautiful gardens. The prices weren't exorbitant and the staff very friendly. I have recommended it to anyone visiting Melbourne as a really enjoyable relaxing day

Had a lovely relaxing experience! Had a spa day with my bridesmaid for a hens day and can't recommend it enough. We got the Moroccan Melt package and everything was great. The staff were so lovely and made us feel very comfortable. Worth every penny and can't wait to go back again.

Really special staff who made our weekend memorable. My daughter was thrilled with the attention given due to it being her birthday weekend. Added to the great care shown by the people who make it work was the quality and presentation of the food, the rooms and the grounds. The rates were great value for what was provided. We all look forward to our next visit.

  • Cuinn Herrick

Beautiful grounds. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast. Although with weddings being held throughout the weekend, the after parties go until 11 or 12 and loud drunk guests returning go their rooms will keep you up. Walls are quite thin between rooms so I recommend you request a room away from wedding guests if possible. Other than that I would have given 5 star.

Had a wonderful stay at Lancemore Mansion. Such a beautiful area with so many lovely places to explore. The accommodation, the pool, breakfast and the wonderful friendly service all added to our delightful experience.

this place is sooooo nice you walk in and it smells honestly amazing!! the only thing it lacks is the rooms are a little bit worn down and the power in and out the night turned off but the place is really lovely and awesome to take pictures of, they did go all out for my birthday and gave me a bottle of alcohol which i appreciate so much !!

  • Sean P

Quite disappointing for the price that you pay. Old TV set that wasnt digital. Restaurant was ok, but not fine dining. Gardens were lovely, but you are not near anything. Pool was great. Gym as dreadfully small & cramped. Spa treatments exorbitantly expensive, as were the rooms.

He paired our night perfectly and helped move furniture to accomodate us - honestly wonderful heartfelt beautiful service by a caring man trying to make our experience the best it could possible be - thank you Victor, you made our entire night.
