I recently visited this Las Panchitas Fresh Mexican Grill as a long time customer and was disappointed to find that the food quality has declined since the hiring of a new cook. The main issue I encountered was with the tortillas, which were not fully cooked all the way through. This was a significant issue for me as I believe that the quality of the food should always be a top priority for any restaurant. Unfortunately, due to the decline in food quality, I will not be returning to this Las Panchitas Fresh Mexican Grill. As a long time customer, it is disheartening to see such a significant change in the quality of the food, and I hope that the Owner takes this feedback into consideration to make the necessary improvements.

Staff is so sweet and kind, they will walk you through what you might like to order since there's so many options. Food is incredible, probably my favorite in San Diego. Don't sleep on this place, it's amazing

There's a lot of parking, i've never struggled to find a spot even on their busiest days. (which are Fish taco wednesday and I think they do taco tuesday too)

Really love coming to this place. Every once in a while when I’m in the mood for some Mexican place I always come to Las Panchitas. They have been here for a long time and never had a bad order. Their good is always fresh and straight out of the chicken. You’ll never see them microwave stuff like other places. It may take some time but the wait is always worth it since it is fresh. Their fries are really good. They’re not dry or old. As I said before fresh and taste is all this place offer. Really enjoy their habanero(really spicy) salsa. I always get their carne asada fries with pico de Gallo and Lettuce. Highly recommend this place. May take some time but it’s worth it.

I stumbled across this taco shop by accident after driving around the area and discovered that they have a delicious Grilled chicken burrito. It was marinated and the tortilla was nice and warm. The place was actually closed, but the person behind the counter was more than happy to help me and my kids with some food. He accommodated my request by adding fries to my kids burritos, which was a very nice gesture. The portions are big and the salsa tasted great! I recommend this place to anyone who lives in the area. Very good customer service, big tables, and even has an outside area to eat! (My kids can get messy when eating burritos)

Cashier/Cook is always friendly and makes the best California burrito I have ever had (and I have had many). The carne asada in the burrito tasted great with the right amount of spices and appropriate tenderness. The tortilla was also fresh and not dry (like other places). The pico de gallo tasted fresh and combined with the other ingredients such as sour cream and french fries was a perfect combination. The burrito was so good! Prices are reasonable and the salsa bar includes hot carrots. This food is honestly better and seems more fresh than sit-down Mexican restaurants. First off, I’m soo glad I stubbled into this place, no joke best freakin chipotle burrito! Literally not exaggerating. I normally go to Lupe’s Mexican place near mesa college and tried their food and dont get me wrong they have good portions and delicious carne asada burritos and the place looks cute for instagram pictures. But Las Panchitas is amazing with their food, I actually wanted to go back for another right after buying one and the pricing is great for the portion size! Place is within the same plaza as Carnival and hidden on the side. I definitely recommend this place, seriously so good. Also close to mesa college!

The food is standard Mexican food. Nothing to write home about. The family that runs the place is sweet and always pleasant. WARNING! You will wait forever and a day for even the simplest of orders. I have already waited close to 15 minutes for 5 rolled tacos. 15 MINUTES! it's a shame. I'd be here more often because of my proximity, but I Van probably get to casa de bandini in old Town and be done with a meal by the time my order even gets to the cook at Las panchitas. Skip this one. They're ate plenty other Mexican food places in San Diego.

Las Panchitas is my local go-to for consistently good San Diego taqueria style Mexican eats. Owned by a mom and pop duo - they run the joint as well as cook all of the items on the menu. It's tucked away in a small, outdated, shabby looking plaza hidden in the neighborhood, a place only folks in the area would know to frequent. ProTip: Call ahead for your order! As it is a small business operation, wait times will be considerably slower, especially around peak times. I've waited up to 40 minutes for a burrito before!

Great, authentic tacos, and they have Taco Tuesday specials at $1.15 each. Carnitas: My favorite of the bunch. A nice, well-balanced taco. Adobada: Pretty decent. Carne Asada: A pretty classic carne asada. Pollo Asada: Don't get this type of taco very often, I just found it ordinary. Cabeza: At least in the one I tried, they used a fatty cut that made it very smooth but also a little on the overly oily tasting side. Horchata: Nice and creamy, without that graininess some places have.

If you want to eat excellent tacos this is the place they put guacamole on top with onions and cilantro The pollo asado is off the hook the carnitas bomb and the carne asada is beautiful and the salsa is great I mean if you want to eat some flavor and you're craving tacos this is the place well worth your time to come check it out and the prices are not bad at all they got some really good deals

Owner operator cook, he’s THE best, food is amazing, he knows my wife and I just by the order. Worth the wait if any.,,,, We’ve been getting deliciousness here for over four years ! can’t say enough how the quality of food is top shelf!! Best Mex in San Diego. He doesn’t make it until you order it., You Have to come here,,,, once you try it you can’t go anywhere else. Love Las Panchitos. Respect, Rude fam.!!!!!!!

There were no other customers and it still took over half an hour to get one burrito, soup and enchilada. I have worked in the food business as foa & boa. It would have taken a professional kitchen about 10 minutes to get such a small order out, ESPECIALLY if there is no other tickets. I recommend a health and safety inspection to check their cameras because no gloves were being used in the kitchen.

I love fish Taco from this shop but their service get worse with time. Today I waited 30 min to receive the order even though they prepared the order in 5 min. That's what I was told. 5 min to make tacos. Then they saw me waiting at the door and I can see my order ready on the table but they didn't care to hand me the order. I will never go there until they improve their service.

Their "OMG Burrito" is the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I wish they were open longer during the day but honestly this place is so good that I change my schedule for them. Great tortas and rolled tacos too. I will also say they do have sorta long wait-times during peak hours. Call ahead before picking up, and give them a break they're really short staffed.

it's no "hidden gem", just a decent taco stand with substandard meat quality (my fajitas were chewy grizzle with lacking flavor) unrecognizable guacamole (only the coloring resembled avocados) and mediocre fish tacos. the beans were ok, so was the rice...that's about it! woke-up with heartburn from the mixture...u judge for yourself! the people seemed nice though!

The shopping center isn't the best. But this place is a gem!

Friend and I stopped here randomly. He's local and says by far best California burrito he's ever had. I def agreed. Nice people too. Could do without the music competing with with the TV on full blast but I'll endure it for this burrito!

Not a bad little place. Food took a little while but it was good. Meat wasn't overcooked, has some good flavor, and nothing was drowned in sauce to cover something up. They have taco specials for Tuesday and Wednesday, but they're specifically mini tacos so keep that in mind.

They just opened up the fruit bar!! Delicious, I have gone 3 different times to order. Such a great addition!!!

Extremely slow, I mean very very VERY SLOW! No one was there ahead of me and they still took 15 or 20 minutes to get my 3 tacos! For this reason I rated them 3 stars. But the food was very good.... Just not worth the wait.

I had 3 of the $1 potato tacos which are very good and decent sized. The red and green sauce was also above avg. Value and taste is excellent but the restaurant is rundown, with no atmosphere so I subtract a star.

They have very long wait times at lunch and my dad tried to take food back because it tasted different then the last time and they they are not very understanding for the customer and didn’t take it back

This place is great. The food takes a little longer than most but I always have had a great experience. The jalapeno or the Philly burrito are amazing. Their chips are fresh and the salsa is great.

They are so freaking nice here and it's the best Mexican food in Kearny Mesa. The Cali burrito has fresh cooked crispy fries and is as good as it gets from any taco shop!

The price is substantially higher than what was shown on their website. Eg. pollo asado quesadilla is now 8.99 instead of 6.49. Just be aware.
