Where do I start with Lewis. Our process in buying a property off them has been nothing short of disastrous. We bought a house off the plans through them (Alan Tuncer was the initial point of contact) and waiting 2 and a half years. In that period, as soon as the deposit was paid, communication was none existent. Fast forward to settlement and through emails and house drive bys we discovered that what we bought and what was advertised through them, isn’t what we ended up getting. They omitted the fundamental aspects in the house for which we signed up for. We were given plans dated May 2017 and we signed the contract in July 2018. Only in October 2020 we became aware of updated plans that were drafted in May 2018. They were drafted PRIOR to us signing the contract but were only made available to us weeks out from settlement. These updated plans were much clearer and we wouldn’t have bought the property had we known of them. They showed an easement through our courtyard and didn’t show a secure garage. 2 fundamental reasons why we bought the property. The main reason we bought the house was for the private courtyard. It was in their advertisements and plans. When the house was completed, the builder constructed a retaining wall through it rendering it useless. When we raised this issue, Daniel Veronese from Lewis emailed us to say it was our responsibility to look at our contract. (Retaining wall wasn’t in the contact). They also omitted the private garage, no communication as to why this happened until my building inspection. Daniel Veronese emailed to bluntly say “it’s not going in as per council requirements”. The garage had a motorised roller door to which power would have to be supplied to the ceiling. They would have known the garage door wasn’t to be installed months prior to me finding out by myself, again, no communication. It was then we decided that we wouldn’t stand for their dishonesty so we engaged a solicitor. Thankfully through their ineptitude we were able rescind the contract and get our deposit back. It was only when we engaged the lawyer, they decided to talk to us, Daniel Veronese called and emailed me to see if I’d still settle at a lower price “without prejudice” as he put it. But, I value honesty and transparency. We could no longer deal with them. We’re a young couple with a baby. We worked hard to save for our first home and it was... is supposed to be an exciting time. We wasted 2 and a half years of our life, spent thousands on lawyer fees and we’re back at square one. I can’t comment on what it’s like buying established homes off them as it’s not my experience. Or for them to act on my behalf to sell my home. But trust me, do not buy an off the plans property of them. It will end in heartache. Finally, Alan Tuncer and Daniel Veronese. You both need to take a step back and reassess if this is how you want to make a living. There’s no pride in your work. Dishonest and deceptive.

It brings me great joy that not only was a great outcome in a short amount of time attained but that the lovely couple who have bought the house are really delighted as well. I would not hesitate to recommend this highly capable, skilled and dedicated team, and in particular Alan Tuncer . If I there was a 10 star option, it would be well earned. Second Property sold November 2018 This Realty is different, they value the vendor. The sale of my second property was managed by Simon Muller, a highly professional and gifted agent with an impressive work ethic. Simon like the rest of the Lewis real estate consultants does not rely on luck to achieve the highest price. Simon utilises he's energy and superior negotiating skills to attract the best result. In my case a record price in record time...legend. ************************************************************************** Property sold may 2017.. Professional and outstanding service. The sale of our property was headed by Simon Muller. He got us the price we wanted and the result that other real estate agency firms could not achieve (price). Simon's positive outlook and can do attitude meant we were able to get the price we wanted in a short space of time. He's prompted response to our phone calls and that of buyer's enquires is truly impressive. Simon promised that he would only bring through serious buyers who could afford the asking price., and this is what he did. Simon and the team only took through 3 buyers before it sold. We were relieved that hoards of people did not inspect out property for the very reason of inconvenience. Brilliant!!!! I can’t thank Andy and the team at Lewis Coburg enough. Unlike the other agents I saw, Andy gave me good reasons to increase my price expectations - and he was right. In this climate of uncertainty I was also wary of paying for advertising and then have an auction pass in leaving me with all the expenses and no result; or worse, being pressured to sell below reserve to cover auction costs. This actually happened to a work colleague with a major agency just after I sold. Lewis often uses what they call the silent auction process. They cover all the advertising and costs and only take a % after the property is sold. They market to their contacts and other interested parties with the aim of quality over frequency in terms of property inspections. So less people view the property but those who do are more likely to buy. There are no open days per sae. Each buyer then places their highest bid and signs a contract. This bid is sealed and no further bids are accepted from that buyer. This encourages each bidder to put their maximum and it works. The “auction” is ended after a few days. About 9 people were interested and only one made a bid but I got the maximum in my expected range plus change. Thanks guys!

Over a 12 year period I have both bought and sold property through Lewis Realty. Daniel Veronese was my first point of contact. Daniel was very professional, he communicated with us on a frequent basis (took our calls at all times) even if there was no news to convey. He only showed qualified genuine buyers through my home when we sold the first time and the selling method was very favourable to us. Daniel also assisted us in purchasing our second home which we have just recently sold after being there for 12 years. We contacted Daniel through a mutual friend about selling my parents house. Dan was polite, professional and clear cut in his answers and gave advice that just made sense. In February 2016 the time had come to sell my parents home due to their poor health. I contacted Daniel Veronese at Lewis Realty first to meet with us about the proposed sale of the property. As the first time we had ever sold a house we were worried we would be taken advantage of, or would become the sales target. After speaking with auction-focussed agents we stumbled across Alan from Lewis. Are lucky we did. Alan gave evidence to show why selling at auction is never a smart idea and introduced us to a seller-focussed approach where we remained in control throughout the entire campaign. Lewis Realty is a family run business that I have had the pleasure of buying, selling and renting homes over many years. I remember my dad appointed Lewis Realty to sell our family home in Preston back in 1983 and they were back then and still are today very professional, knowledgeable and have a warm and welcoming manner. We just bought our first house through this company. They were responsive, very open to additional inspections, and professional. The selling mechanism was via "expressions of interest", practically meaning that we were required to submit only one offer, our highest one, and then all offers were presented to the vendor. We found the process stressful and opaque, we would have preferred a straight negotiation, or auction with minimum price expectations. That said, we purchased within 10% of the maximum estimated selling range, and we feel like we paid a fair price for the property and are overall very happy. I don't really feel like I got value for money given the price we paid. I didn't feel like the agent advise us or represented our best interest, and I felt like they will more of a mesage forwarding intermediary between us and the prospects. My expectation is for a seller to sell, and I don't feel like that happened. The only redeeming service was the contractor details that were provided to do prepatory maintenance prior to the sale. They did an excellent job.

Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, we needed to sell our recently purchased house in a tough market. Alan was responsive, professional, and put a lot of effort into the whole process. Nicholas has been really responsive, caring, and friendly agent for us as renters. One star. They managed my property but when the tenant left the property was vacant for nearly 4 months. So, I get a new agent, they find a tenant on the first weekend! Lewis really didn’t care that my property was vacant and costing me $1000s in lost rent. Multiple emails went unanswered. They offered no initiatives in finding a tenant. They’ve left the impression that they’re just lazy. Can’t recommend.

Probably the best real estate agent I've dealt with as a renter, using very up to date and smooth application and repairs processes, very quick to dispatch services for urgent repairs and maintenance. Really nice to know they're just around the corner too should I need something. Moving to a non-Lewis managed property would be a seriously hard choice if I wanted to move.
