Dwell deep into North Kiara to locate this cafe. A so well-hidden cafe deep inside Segambut, which they rebranded into "Dutamas" or "North Kiara" because it sounded more upscale, I would have never realized its existence if not for my extensive research. I resorted to park by the road side outside the condominium and walked up to the Clubhouse near the entrance. The word "Patricia" will let you know that you're there - walk up the stairs, push the door open and you'll be greeted by the friendly barista. Essentially a neighbourhood cafe, do take note that they have a secret garden where one can relax while doing their work or catching up with friends over coffee, and/or pastry/cake surrounded by leafy greens. I wasn't in the mood for coffee that day so I opted for kombucha for that fizzy and refreshing taste, but her flat white went well with the brownie that we ordered. Sharing the cake together while enjoying respective drinks for slightly more than hour was more than enough to recharge ourselves after a long day outside. We quickly left for home to avoid the traffic jam after that.

Went there with my fiancé on a Sunday morning and after several minutes of waiting at the counter - which had 3 people behind it and not one even acknowledging us - we ordered and paid for 2 polo buns and 1 latte. We sat at the other end of the cafe since that was the only space available. Despite them having about 5 staff at the counter, the latte took 20 minutes to arrive. Halfway through drinking the coffee, a family of four came and sat at the table next to us. Within 10 minutes they were served their coffee and toast while we were STILL WAITING for our polo bun. We were about to get up and leave when just one bun arrived…after another 20 minutes (at this point there were still about 5 staff behind the counter) we asked after the other bun. No apology was given from the staff, just a curt “it’s on the way”. We walked out without getting our bun that we paid for 5 mins later. For a place that only seats about 30 pax and has a ratio of 1 staff to 5-6 people, their “timeliness” made no sense. Never coming back.

As guest of Tian Jing Hotel, I get to try their drinks (was happy to pay and try as I thought the complimentary drink was just for first day). I must say the menu selection is very generous! Drinks were really good quality for a cafe! I personally liked Hojicha and Matcha Lattes but their coffee was equally good and smells nice. I really really loved the Coffee Rum Cheesecake where the coffee jelly inside is like taking a sip of of Rum itself. When I was there they have 4 different alcoholic cheesecakes and I so regret not trying them earlier! Price wise it is at Cafe standard. But hey, at least the quality is truly worth the money and tummy space! Nice ambience away from the heat of street. Nostalgic feel and they have big and small tables around. I sat there one afternoon and I observe that they cleared the tables soon after people leave. They also sprayed and wiped it clean so the tables are always ready to seat next group of customer. Prompt, nice and helpful people here!

Saw this cafe popping up on my Instagram with its rattan chairs and artistic interior. Worried about how fancy cafe interiors may not result in good food, I took a gamble by ordering their meals. The first thing that strikes you when you see their menu is their absolute lack of things to eat. Its almost all roti bakar and half boiled eggs, and cakes. But, as someone once told me, you don't need to be a jack of all trades to be successful. The fusion Onde-Onde Cake at RM14 was quite good. All the flavours and almost all the textures you'd expect from an Onde-Onde were present in the cake. Pair it with a really good latte (RM9) and it is an unforgettable experience. Could be that the cafe owners want to bank in on their expertise on fusion cakes and good coffee making skills, and I am not complaining. My only complaint is the expensive roti kawin which at RM4 is a tad overrated. Otherwise everything else about this cafe is PERFECT.

Visited the cafe last week. The shop may be small but it is very comfortable. I ordered toast bread and it’s perfectly crispy and the amount of kaya and butter they put is just right, making it delicious. The coffee is great too. Price: Affordable between RM10-RM25 Food taste: 8/10 (referring to toast bread, I also seen ppl eating the half boiled egg, look nice too) Food quality: 8/10 Environment: 8/10 (relaxing and comfortable) Cleanliness: 8.5/10 Service: 8/10 (attentive and helpful) Suggestion: 1. Coffee cup, use something with handle because the transparent cup is too hot to hold. 2. Entrance is a little too high for elderly people. Overall experience is good. Will visit again

A Chinese kompitiam on the ground floor of Tian Jing Hotel which is a new instagramable place in China Town area. We ordered half boiled eggs and butter coconut jam bread (normally in other café it will come with a set) and some drinks. They taste good however quickly passed by as a dream at the time we were finishing them and it made us wondered if we have eaten yet... but the price brought us back to real life tho 99rm for a meal that food items are too less for us. The café is suitable for chilling out with friends, not for filling your stomach up I mean Forgot to say, their ice-cream is lovely, I like the Hojicha flavour most. Anyway, just give it a try when you are in town!

Specialty coffee taken seriously, all in subtle flavours. Beans blend from Papua New Guinea, Brasil and Honduras. Nose of toasted barley and citrus. Then nuts and sweet spice complement a light fruit juicy mouthfeel. Amazingly the creamy texture lingers without any astringency nor bitterness. Such a beautiful extraction of an excellent product. Smart declinations available in milk and iced versions. Piccolo latte, Golden Brown and Blood moon my favourites. Nice selection of cakes, such as Rum chocolate or Tiramisu, they deliver in flavour as much as in looks.

The polo roll will change your life. Light, fluffy and sweet with a crispy outside, and what looks like a half a stick of salted butter inside...best thing I've had in KL so far. I ordered it because the menu told me to, and was initially upset that it didn't come with kaya (I strongly believe almost everything should have kaya on or near it), but one bite proved me wrong. If anyone needs me I'll be here clogging my arteries for the foreseeable future.

Coffee was great, they even have Oatly oat milk which is rare to find in KL. Food was good but limited choices. I ordered the kaya toast (needs a bit more butter) and half boiled eggs which were a bit on the under done side. Chairs are uncomfortable, which means you eat and go, no loitering around after your cuppa. The lady behind the cashier was extremely moody and rude. Probably best to replace her with someone who smiles and is accommodating, considering businesses are in dire need of a boost at the moment with this pandemic. The barista was friendly and nice. Many other cafes around to choose from, if you just walk around the corners.

  • Jessie Liew

Vintage little store. There are alot of cafes along this street but chose this as it is properly closed up and air-conditioned, needed a cool place. And surprisingly no crowd over weekday after breakfast, before lunch time. The cny setup is minimalistic, enough but symbolic. Instead of cny songs, the café plays oldies, love them to bits! Ordered a cold drink called Blood Moon - Espresso + Grapefruit juice, it's phenomenal! Definitely worth the visit, and you could also lodge into the hotel behind, called Tian Jing Hotel.

Really popular and good for photo, particular two tables next to the window, you can stay there for a whole afternoon and look at the passengers. I like the outside view, which is simple and clean, can have a really good photo.. Choice of food is not much, but coffee is nice, either take away or have there, will be a good experience. Not a big restaurant, limited tables, old local style decoration, but serve good western coffee, limit food menu, which are local style toast and eggs. Good place to spend time alone or small group.

  • Pek Zhan

Hipster café at the most touristy spot in Petaling Street! There’s also hostel operated within the same building. Loved the modern oriental antique kind of concept, one can just chill and relax here after a long walk around the area to catch some air-con with limited seatings which you may need to share tables with others if it is packed. Perhaps a great way to meet and chat with locals and foreigners :) Their coffee and desserts are great, however prices are pretty steep and limited food offerings here. Staffs were friendly.

  • carlson kj

Loved the retro ambience, less people this more enjoyable place. Coffee is enjoyable, along with lemon crepe, should have more food options like croissant. This cafe is same as tianjing retro inn, I can appreciate the retro vibe here. More importantly is less that this place is rowdy, as I am a person who appreciates quiteness. Keep up the good service pls

Usually come on weekend mornings, theres this really really cute barista with such pretty eyes and brows. The coffee is really good so is his art skills. Love the hot flat white. Washroom is amazingly clean. Didnt try the cakes but the aesthetics of it looks fantastic. Whole cafe is really clean actually. Parking, u brave u can park roadside la, malaysia u can triple quadruple park also can one. Just leave ur number, dont be a douche. Or u can park at the open parking space further down and walk.

A relatively small cafe situated next to a boutique hotel Tian Jing. We arrived quite early and bumped into the staff at the door. Somehow the staff was not so friendly and welcoming. He told us they are only serving the toast and not the bigger meal. Hmm... Which we didn't mind so we still went in. Very simple menu. Only two types of cakes available at the counter. Toast were nice. Eggs were slightly under cooked. Hot drink wasnt that hot. It turned cold after a short while.

  • Amulet Kok

Visited this cafe because I read good reviews about the cakes and coffee at this place. indeed this is a small store serving cakes and coffee or drinks at a fair price but both the cakes and coffee are nothing to shout about and there’s space for improvement. Service is good, the heritage ambience is good (attracts both old and young customers which is nice), location is convenient for both tourist and locals. Just improve on the food &drinks and this would be a nice place.

  • Bruce (Bruce Ning)

The environment is cool but without many decorations. Just simple and nice. The cappuccino tasted good but can be better in terms of the smoothness. Also, I ordered Roti Kahwain (RM4 only two pieces) and boiled eggs (RM4 only two). Both of these are perfect match in my opinion. So, total up for my order was RM18.00 because the cappuccino costed me RM10. Oh ya, cappuccino only available for hot but no cold. If you wanna WiFi, kindly referred to your receipt. It’s there.

I love this tiny cozy place. Even the menu isn’t various but still very cozy for a quick stay coffee time. I ordered its coffee late, polo bun and roti kahwin (kaya toast n butter), and all are good. The place around Petaling Street.

Great location with some Michilin hawkers/restaurants nearby. The staff were kind and friendly. Also the decoration is classic and quite a chilly atmosphere. I ordered Dirty, good stuff but not impressive enough. Still recommend if you visit this area and want to find a cool place and good coffee.

Nice cafe but with very limited seats. Dont really encourage you to come over if you are in a big group. Ordered flat white and mocha cold for drinks..flat white was good, however the mocha seems to be too bitter. For desserts, we ordered the tiramisu kahlua cake and teh tarik ice cream. I personally feel there is too much alcohol in the tiramisu which caused it too bitter, while the teh tarik ice cream sweetness is just right. Overall it is a good experience.

I had made a list of all the foods I wanted to try while in Malaysia and this place came up as one of better places to get Kaya Toast, so obviously I had to try it. It was a pretty nice and light breakfast, so I was happy about that. They also had some nice signature drinks and a great atmosphere. I really enjoyed the experience!

First of all, absolutely love its super convenient location and the calming ambience. Very quiet on a Friday morning and free wifi provided is stable with great speed, hence a pleasing spot for work and study despite the small table. Hot chocolate (RM10) tastes good, strong cocoa aroma and not too sweet. Roti kahwin (RM4) is basically toast Hainan bread with butter and kaya. Another plus point is no extra service charge.

Coffee: 3 out of 5 (not enough coffee flavour or scent in the coffee) Food: 3 out of 5 (bread not as good as other cheaper joints, like Ah Weng Koh, where it was cheap and delicious) Atmosphere: 5 out of 5 (love deep mahogany colours - calming for breakfast) Cleanliness: 5 out of 5 (very clean, nice rustic toilets) Decor: 5 out of 5 (rattan seats are fitting with the Colonial styling)

First of all, they don’t open on time which is 930am instead they will make you wait outside until they get ready which will be almost 10am and staff are not friendly at all, very moody perhaps is too early for them. And most of the items were not available because it’s not ready yet. Overall, you won’t miss anything if you don’t visit this cafe. Oh ya, it’s very over priced as well. And coffee was really bad.

  • Joanne Chan

Good place to take photo 打卡圣地. It is a lobby of a budget hotel in the heritage Petaling Street. A tourist place. The menu is more on western menu, pastry, western coffee, cakes, polo bun. The local roti kahwin is not in the menu, but I saw someone having it while I was on my way walk out from this place.

It's a cafe that's also the hotel lobby for Tian Jing. Charming 1950s setting with the old Shanghai Tang music playing in the background, and very cosy. The latte was strong yet not burnt. And it's burnt cheesecake which I took it away to have at home was delicious. The cheesecake was moist within the slice and the caramelised outer layer gives a different texture. A great find. :)

  • Naomi Reich

Nice place to catch your breath, have a drink and get out of the afternoon heat. They even have ice chamomile tea, something you don't see often. Order and pay at the counter. Service is pretty friendly and the cakes seem to be a good choice as well.

Tiny cafe attached to the inn. Seatings are limited, but we do love the ratan chairs and small table setup - perfect for a couple to enjoy their coffee break! Their burnt cheese cake is out of this world! Creamy, soft and smooth. Perfect balance of sweet and saltiness. Must try. Not recommended for family with small kids or baby… it's too cramp inside.

  • Charis Koh

Amazing burnt cheese cake. Texture was light yet cheesy enough which is pretty hard to come by! I loved it. Dining companions said the latte was really good too. Didn't enjoy the alcoholic coffee cheesecake. It was too bitter and boozy for my liking. Good for coffee and alcohol lovers tho. Service was great! Really small place tho so hard to find seats

The black forest cake is good with the rum inside. The most favourite one is the cookie. They heated it up for me. It’s so good. Coffees were a bit small but strong. Liked the long black.

Not many tables around as this cafe happens to be in the ground floor of a quaint hotel but it's a good place to hang out if you happen to get a table. Place is comfy with good air conditioning and 50s or 60s chinese music playing in the background. It channels in the golden 60s era. Staff are polite and courteous as well.

  • Sebastian Gonz

This butter bun was exquisite! Can't remember the name but so good , the coffee is well done, good quality. Good things: Nice and fresh inside to rest for the hot weather, quiet place. Bad things: Seats are quiet uncomfortable, they could add a few more things on the menu! But totally recommended for a good coffee.

Pass by few time never visit. Today visit with friend, Craving for cakes, The tiramisu is great and the Lemon cheesecake. Fuhhh full of lemon and lemon zest taste. Love it. Will pay visit next round. Staff friendly & helpful, cant see their smile face mask cover, but still polite can feel good to visit again.

Amazing place, good friendly service, the flat white is to die for (said by an Aussie ) and the ice cream is wonderful, especially the coconut. We came late Sunday morning and even tho it was a little busy we were able to find 4 spots easily on the big table. Will come again next time I'm in KL …

  • Shaheera Sofea

I like how this place is not crowded with people even it is already 10 am, Saturday. I have never likes coconut spread before but this cafe has proved me wrong, it was so delicious. The matcha drink also so good I would definitely recommend this cafe to others. And will definitely come again …

  • Matthew Koumis

I walked in. The waitress ignored me. I walked around to find menu. The waitress ignored me. A few minutes later I walked out. That was easy. No place deserves to be high scoring if they cannot even succeed in basic scoring. Was the problem that I am not Chinese? Or just bad service.

A Cafe which is located at the ground floor or entrance of Tian Jing Hotel. I like the Dirty Latte and Roti Kahwin (very crunchy toasted ) there. …

Enjoy the ambience , service level and also their foods as well. An additional surprised where they also serve vegetarian siu mai too. Recommended

A very stylish cafe with vintage interior and quality drinks. A unique and environmental friendly feature: metal straw. Staff are really friendly!

Nice decor and nice service. They have nice coffee machine but I didn’t really like the sour coffee taste. Otherwise nice place to chill

  • Sandra

I really liked the rum cake I had here and the coffee is pretty good too. When it gets crowded you can't really hear yourself talk tho

  • Rahman Hamid

Nice place for simple breakfast. Use ehailing as parking is difficult. Not a place to seat more than 1 hr. Small stool n small table.

Cosy space with friendly peeps. Good coffee that's smooth and creamy with that strong note of bitter. Beautiful latte art too.

The bread was great but the coffee were so so. There were very few options of food. The atmosphere of the place was nice.

  • Sky suke

Good place to chill and relax. Not much of food choices as it is place to have some snacks and chillax. Nice environment.

2nd time here. Good coffee, great cozy environment. Good place to relax after hot sunny day @ chinatown

  • Dhennver Ng

I live the retro looks. The coffee was good. Only feedback was that the service was on the slow side.

The best coffee in town! Im so happy we stayed here and guests got free coffee in the morning …

  • Wilson Siew

Perfect place for coffee and minimum choices of breakfast such as roti khawin and half boiled eggs.

  • Zoey S

日本でいうところの純喫茶のような質実剛健なカフェ。抹茶も、コーヒーもクオリティが満足いくこと請け合いです。ラムチーズケーキのアルコールの効きっぷりがイスラム国家と思えないほど。美味しかったですが!

  • Aislin Fall

The best coffee and the best staff. Their oat lattes are incredible. Definitely check them out!
