EDITED: I can’t respond directly to the owner’s response but I wanted to add that this happened earlier this evening around 6:30-6:45. I posted the review after I got home - around 11. The bar wasn’t empty while I was there, but it certainly wasn’t as busy as you’re implying it was. The other bartender was actually doing random side work and chatting to his friend the whole time. Your response is just as dismissive as the service :/ Initial Review: Went today to meet up with a few friends from out of town. Walked in, went to the back to say hi to them, then walked over to the bar to grab a drink. Two other people from my party were looking at the menu (one with a drink, one not) so I went to look with them. We were probably standing there for 10-15mins before the bartenders even came over . When they finally did, the male bartender took my male friends drink order, made it, then moved on to another person who walked up while we were ordering. The bartender never looked at me and never acknowledged me despite me standing there holding the menu, ready to order. After standing there for that long and then having him walk away like that, I just went and sat down without ordering. I’d previously mentioned to my friend that I was thirsty and asked her to order me a water prior to me getting there. She hadn’t had a chance yet, but when I came and sat back down I told her what happened she got up and came back not even 5mins later with two waters. The whole situation was so incredibly bizarre. Everyone else in my party was served just fine. The whole thing was embarrassing and felt bizarrely personal - Despite the fact that I’ve never been before and don’t live in the neighborhood
I supported this bar avidly through the pandemic. It has a wonderful vibe and vibrant community. The drink selection is great and the lead chef is excellent. However, recently I was banned from their community as the result of a new bartender having a posturing problem. Unable to find other redress, I left a low review as a last resort, then amended it immediately when contacted by the management, who I assumed would address the individual who was obviously out of line. Surprisingly, their choice was instead to support the individual who verbally abused and physically threatened me, and so, after giving them sufficient time to amend their decision, I am reinstating my 1 star review until that issue is addressed. I don't want or need to be re-invited to the community as a result, though I miss the unaligned individuals dearly, but cannot in good faith endorse good establishment that knowingly harbors bad actors. I look forward to such time as I can amend this review again. However, I do not feel comfortable in the idea that anyone else would have that experience without being forewarned.
Cool bar to visit after a long day at work! I can't comment much on the bar service experience since my coworkers did the ordering. I think we were given a free tequila shot during our second round, so that was nice! Many beer and wine options and a great cocktail list. I got a bourbon one with egg white foam, very tasty! I didn't pay attention to see if there was a food menu. Other customers didn't seem to be eating. Love the fun atmosphere overall! Everyone seemed to have company so I would be a little intimidated to come here solo. We remained indoors, although I believe I saw patrons going outside in the back. I had to steal another high chair for my backpack since there are not enough hooks, but luckily, no one minded. A single bathroom located at the front; not sure if they have more elsewhere. A random guy in a cap kept pacing back and forth, but turns out he's a staff person when he came to collect our empty glasses lol. Might come back to see if there's happy hour!
EDIT AFTER OWNER RESPONSE: “These reviews are shocking” LOLOL please do yourselves a favor and avoid this dump. What a loser this person is. EDIT 2: and of course a bunch of 5 star reviews from fake profiles spilling riiiiight on schedule. AVOID! Extremely scummy tip placement and abhorrent responses by the deluded owner. I don’t care how nice this bar looks, management has their heads where the sun tends not to shine. The owners responses to some of these reviews are shocking. I recommend passing on this bar, there are plenty in Brooklyn that are actually happy to serve. Telling a customer “don’t be so offended” is so rude and disrespectful.
The bar has positives and negatives. The bar itself is a great place to go. Ambiance friendly atmosphere great staff. The negatives for local residents are the late hours and the open front patio. Weekdays the bar is open until 2:00 AM and Weekends it is open until 4:00 AM. The patrons tend to be loud and noisy between 12 AM and 4 AM. This is a problem for individuals trying to get a good night sleep for work. Unfortunately I was threatened with pepper spray by an employee when I complained they we open passed their closing time. Hopefully these issues will be addressed.
Sitting in an airport with a long layover, Google is guiding me down a rabbit hole. Looking at some of these ridiculous bad reviews, The Manor bar is one of the BEST bars around. The staff is fantastic, there are lots of diverse regulars and never a problem. My beer and whiskey are simple, but people seem to really dig the cocktails. I don't think any of the bartenders are trying to trick anyone into 50% tip. If that's an issue, pay better attention to the 20, 25% option. The Manor is my jam!

This place is one of my regular haunts in Brooklyn, and I enjoy coming in for a drink as well as the atmosphere. The service in this establishment has gone down tremendously. There was a time when as soon as you sat down, a server would approach and inquire about what you wanted to drink. Now, it feels like you have to beg for service. Also, the specialty cocktails menu needs to be revamped.
Lady bartender with glasses is trash me and my boy was chilling the guy served us was cool the lady ignored us when we spoke Spanish to her so I said to my buddy maybe she don't speak Spanish and then she goes off saying she's offended this and that I asked her to leave me alone and she wouldn't.

I went here last night and almost clicked the 50% (yes, 50!!!!!!) tip option on the iPad. This is utterly ridiculous, AND they put the highest 50% tip on the left side when the whole world puts them in ascending order. Bar was okay and vibes were fine, but this is super scammy behavior. There’s so many bars in downtown Brooklyn. Take your business elsewhere.
Livingston Manor is a cute little bar located in Downtown Brooklyn - the atmosphere in this place is so lovely!! They have a great menu, I recommend the Nervous Bride. They also make a great margarita!! The staff are kind & accommodating as well. This is a great spot - I'll definitely be back!

The ambiance and cocktails are top notch! Perched at the bar I had a prime view of every person coming in! I ordered a caprese plate that was so delicious. Savory flavors that balanced well with my cocktail. The service is fun fast and friendly they pay great attention to you and there wasn’t a wait at all.
Good selection of spirits and quite a few beers. Seating not great. Not very comfy. Music was good. All staff very friendly. Door/security staff very friendly and unintimidating. Great location in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn. Would attend again if in the area.
Since when is 50% tip an acceptable standard option? That is ridiculous. A tip like that is a custom tip, not something a person that had a few drinks should be accidentally clicking on. These payment systems are an absolute scam and this bar is endorsing them.
Pay your employees properly instead of tricking your customers into paying 50% tip. If you were truly honest about loyal customers asking for that option you wouldn’t be using dark pattern ux to place the 50% option where the lowest tip percentage usually is.
Always was a good spot, with good people behind the tap, but....I was skeptical about the new sandys. Had a spicy salami tonight and it was 6 stars. Great bread, hearty, really spicy. Paired it with an Alesmith IPA. Best meal this year in Brooklyn. Nice work.
Great late night spot. Great drinks! As a girl, I can say it was the cleanest bathroom I’ve been in and that makes a huge difference! Smelled so nice in there and the bar all around. Drinks were great, service was beyond great, I would definitely recommend.
The best bar I've been to around downtown brooklyn. It has a great vibe, attentive staff, and perfect for a few drinks and food. It's small and charming but has a cool vibe to it. A place to start the night of drinking or visit after a long day of work.
Saw a photo on Reddit that this place tries to scam people into paying a 50% tip on their iPads. That’s ridiculous! Don’t patronize places like this that can’t afford to pay their workers properly such that they put the burden on customers to tip 50%!
This was great. After work drink situation, they have a goooood and thoughtful beer selection, and so long as you direct the bar staff about where you wanna go drink wise, you be good. Like all US bars, they don't have any crisps behind the
This might be a new go-to spot for me! Right of the A/C/G train, great drinks, even better service, ample bar seating, and decent music. Great for meeting someone off a dating app for the first time. Or getting a nightcap. Highly recommend!
Cosy neighborhood cocktail bar. 12 rotating taps plus a small selection of bottles and cans. Focus is on American craft beer, with a wide selection when it comes to different styles. Also offering sandwiches, salads and various bar snacks.
Great bar with solid drinks, lovely people (and some customers who get mad for tip ***options***? I don't get it... just tip the amount you want to lol)

This place is superb. It’s great find a bar that has bona fide mixologists who know how to make excellent cocktails. Great ambiance. Thankfully there are no televisions, which facilitate conversation. If you want a place to connect with
We went during the holidays because I popped my head in one day and described it as Christmas vomited in here to my friends. we went to check it out for holiday drinks. It did not disappoint. The place is completely decorated from the
This is a great spot to chill and relax. The bartender Diana gave my friend a lot of good relationship advice, and offered us drink recommendations when we weren't sure what to order. This may be my new hangout spot for the weekend ^^
Had to give this place a try named after my favorite upstate destination! LM’s drink selection rocks and shared a cheese board perfect for two where the thinly sliced meats were presented in a flowered bloom bouquet of deliciousness.
Diane, the owner, is super welcoming as are the staff, for a MeetUp group I host. It's spacious, and the prices of drinks are very good. Best of all it's quiet enough to hold conversations. Highly recommended.
Drinks were decent although one bartender made the worst negroni I've ever had. Decent spot in the neighborhood.

Shady tipping — they have 50% as a tip option where the lowest number is typically. Can be highly misleading and inherently built to trick people. Good bar but disappointing that they would do this
great place for an afternoon drink, great lighting, music is not loud, your allowed to bring food, but make sure at time of viewing this post More
This place is the perfect neighborhood bar. Good cocktail menu, friendly bartenders, and even friendlier local clientele. A vibe all around.
Looking for a late drink close to our hotel. Good vibe and fun chatting to the ladies behind the bar

This is literally my favorite bar ever. Every bartender and regular is kind and welcoming. Thank you, Livingston Manor!
Great place to meet locals and learn more about Brooklyn. Fast drink service but slow checkout kinda place.
Great drinks and a modern atmosphere centered around a district trying to make it's name in the bk market.
Great local spot with an amazing vibe, great bartenders and drink options for all. Would tip 100%!
