Update: Owner reached out directly a few days later to apologize for the incident and offer support. My experience was improved after this. _____________________________________________________________ One of the most uncomfortable situations I have ever been in. AVOID! My encounter was with SF locksmith named Noam. Spoke with him over the phone a few minutes before he arrived at the property. Quoted me price of $95 plus $20 for additional services. We met outside the building. I let the employee into the building. He proceeds to unlock my basic turn key doorknob. He does not give me a final price before nor does he ask for my consent to proceed with opening the door. After 2 minutes the door is unlocked. He wanted to charge me $220! For the most standard lock ever. I asked to speak to his supervisor because I was not aware that I would be paying double the amount that we had originally discussed. In addition, he did not mention the high price before hand. He gets frustrated and tells me to call the office. We both wait together with my front door wide open. I told the employee I am happy to pay, but 220 seems excessive and almost double the original price that he quoted me. I call their office and speak to the lady that works there. I explain the situation and she tells me that she needs to speak to her supervisor. Before I am done talking she hangs up the phone on me. I call another locksmith in the area and they inform me that they usually charge $100-$150 max after hours. 150 max...While the employee from SF Locksmith was trying to charge me $220 without informing me or asking for my consent to the final price before hand. The employee hears me talking with another locksmith business and he then proceeds to call the police. Could you imagine? We are both waiting for his manager to call me back and he calls the police. I could not believe it. He walks outside and I go outside awaiting the police that were supposedly on their way. After a few minutes he says okay the office will accept 150 flat. I pay Noam via Venmo and he drives away. The police never showed up. I believe this was just an intimidation tactic. Extremely unprofessional, aggressive, and threatening behavior by the employee. I would never recommend this service to anyone after the terrible experience that I had tonight with them.

Unfortunately I did not have an ideal experience replacing my car key. I requested a quote for a new spare car key and was quoted $270 over the phone. The service at home was fast and I ended up being charged $275 (I was fine with $5 more), however with three issues: 1) The physical key inside the fob didn't work, an additional fee ($36 if I recall correctly) was requested to cut it for my car -- I had assumed this was included 2) The fob I received was able to lock/unlock but was missing the trunk button; an additional fee ($90 if I recall correctly) was requested to get the original key with all buttons -- not a huge issue but I had assumed it would be the same key 3) After the service, my car displayed an error message at all times (see picture) I ended up asking them to remove the new spare key, which fixed the error message. I was refunded $200 (so still paid $75). In fairness, I assume I just got unlucky. Still, I ended up paying $75 for nothing so not ideal.

Seems a little like a scam. After all the good reviews I went with locksmith Sf because I had a key stuck in my front door. We discussed what happened with the key and I asked for the pricing and they said they couldn’t tell me until they got there and that he would be over in 25 minutes. They didn’t arrive until an hour and a half later. That’s fine - just set the honest expectation. In person, they asked the exact same things we discussed over the phone and I told the same answers. All they did was wiggle the key and then say they couldn’t get it and would have to take the lock apart which would cost $329. I declined and they charged a $80 service fee that had to be sent by zelle or Venmo to his girlfriend or wife . While I expected a fee for their time it was disappointed that there was no effort. My roommate bought w40 and it took 3 minutes for it to get out. So it was $80 for this guy to literally only wiggle the key and then leave.

Unfortunately my car key got ran over and lost so I immediately call them and they came to the rescue very. Thank you so much for the great service! Updating this to say I’m highly disappointed for months the key has been extremely inconsistent I tried emailing and calling getting brushed off. It is not normal or safe for it to take up to 3 minutes to unlock your car with a $500 key. I feel like I’ve gotten scammed because I does not work and as a woman it feels dangerous to not be able to quickly get into my car because a finicky key. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE THEY REFUSE TO HELP. THEY SCAMMED FOR A $500 key that takes 5-7 minutes to unlock my door. I wish them the worst. I pray this business shuts down.

They responded promtly, came to my home and quickly made 2 fobs for my Dodge Ram. Tom'y Key would not work, although I tried 3 times different Fob packages from them. Locksmith SF had it done and said Tom's Key would never work with my truck, and didn't understand why they didn't know this. Locksmith SF made 2 keys for $680.00. The dealer wanted $600.00 for 1 fob. Value wise, I got 2 fob's for the price of 1, and they work great. I returned all the Tom's Key fobs, will soon be reimbursed, and Tom's Key is a very respectable company, good to work with. I wish they knew my fob needed to be programed through Dodge, an each fob has an associated registration that must be paid to Dodge.

I had Dave Ra and another person who I didn’t get the name, come to unlock an apartment bedroom door. They arrived quickly and successfully picked the lock. But the price is so outrageous, above national average for a bedroom door! I don’t understand how others are saying the prices for the services they received are low compared to other locksmiths?? Noah was FANTASTIC! I was having a terrible day and a very difficult time finding an available locksmith. He arrived quickly, on his day off no less (Sunday), was professional, and extremely kind and knowledgeable. He completely turned my day around, not just by unlocking my doors (several locks), but by being extremely empathetic. He also provided tips and tricks for the future, and was very reasonable with pricing and generous with his time. Can’t say enough good things!

Bar was a true hero. I lost all my keys and needed to get into my car as I do not live in SF but instead about an hour away.
