Tonight, January 2, 2020, I purchased an expensive DeLonghi convection oven. To my HORROR, the employee assigned to take it to my car SLAMMED IT HARD onto the cashier's counter with a loud thump. Then he SLAMMED it onto a trolley to take it to my car. I said to him something to the effect, "Hey, be more careful with it." His reply was that I could return it if it's broken and say it's his fault. I didn't say it, but I thought, "Obviously, I can barely walk due to severe osteoarthritis. I am due for hip replacement surgery, every step is painful, and this guy doesn't care if he inconveniences me." After I purchase something, it's MY property. Here he was causing potential damage to MY property. This fact didn't occur to him. UPDATE: I will return the convection oven to the store because I read that convection fans are delicate and can be easily broken. The only reason I drove from West Vancouver to the East Hastings location is because the Park Royal location doesn't have that model in stock. Now I have to return it. Inconvenience, indeed. By the way, I think the word the manager was looking for in his response is "demeanour"" not domineer.
This is my neighbor location that I shop at for over 30 years. I went in to buy some snack and price match an appliance with a flyer. The manager spent a few minutes lying to me not the same product. And I even pulled it up from the walmart website and showed the specs and same pictures as the box. I can tell he wasnt going to give it me. It says they have it at the store and he says I have to call. They put him on hold and he pretend to talked to someone. And he ask do you have this brand. Whoth out the model number. Theres about over 10 items for the brand. He says oh no sold out. He took 30 seconds. Really??? And then I left my purchased and other stuff and went to another london drugs that helped me. For curiosity sake I went to that Walmart and they did have them in stock. I know the hy louie family kids that are old now (london drugs, IGA) and had aunts that worked at their distribution center back in the 80s and I used to go to the distribution center all the time as a kid. I kind of though this was a disgrace.
The pharmacy experience really depends on who you get. Most everyone is so kind, and goes out of their way to help. When I booked a covid shot here and they didn’t have the supply, they called me to let me know days before my appointment, and told me what day they expected more stock to come in. When I had an issue where my health insurance wasn’t working with their system, and no one on either end could figure it out, they spoke directly to my insurance company and figured out the error. They easily spent an hour helping me with that. The only criticism I have is that once I went to pick up meds and the pharmacy tech picked his nose absent-mindedly and then ate it. Disgusting… another time a different tech was rude and unhelpful when I had a question about my allergies and a new medication. Those two incidents are the only reason for 4 and not 5 stars. Every other interaction has been above and beyond.
I spent three days calling about a prescription that I needed. I couldn't come in to pick it up because I tested Positive for COVID. The Pharmacy phone kept on ringing, and when I tried to speak to the front desk the person was multitasking and on their radio and dealing with customers in person, they eventually just transferred me to the pharmacy which of course just rang and rang. I don't fault the employees at all I know they are super busy but what is going on that the staff is spread so thin at this location?! I refuse to leave my home while positive for COVID but I also need my medicine, even if this location can't fill it, that is fine. I just need to speak to someone.
I came here with a sick toddler trying to get a prescription filled. I called in advance to see if they had the medication in stock (as our physician recommended to check first given that it’s a hard to find medication) and they didn’t answer the phone; it just rang for minutes and minutes before I gave up and decided to drive over in person. There are at least four pharmacists working behind the counter and I can hear the phone ringing nonstop. I’ve been waiting first in line for over 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement. Absolutely brutal service - won’t be back to this pharmacy again if I can avoid it.
Batsi, the LOVELY customer service woman at the temporary location on Hastings street gives the BEST customer service. I honestly hate to support this company because I used to work for them at their fishing resort (owner/CEO of LD/Sonora Resort, Brandt Louis and his entitled snobbery-when I was a server at his fishing resort, he refused to speak to the “lowly” serving staff even when they were asking him questions such as a suggested coffee refill). Hopefully he has evolved since then. Zero stars for Brent, five stars for Batsi
I love shopping at London Drugs in general however this LD has unfortunately very incompetent staff. My prescriptions arrived at this LD in June and no one phoned me. The prescription was sitting in their fridge for 4.5 months and no one bothered to check. They even charged a deposit when clearly the prescription was 100% covered by my insurance. I care about my health and prescription drugs and I’ll never come to this pharmacy again. Other than that I love LD and will continue shopping there, just not their pharmacy.
Experienced one of the worst customer service experiences i ever had. Therefore, I use the experience to train staff on how not to represent yourself or your employer to customers or guests. Have a good one! UPDATE: I went back to the store to purchase a cell phone and to see what would happen this time. I am pleased to say that I was :impressed with the service I received from a lady called "Hazel" in the camera department. This lady knows how treat a customer. She deserves a raise! Thank you Hazel !
Well organized and a clean store. Everything is easy to find and there are plenty of choices. Most of the time the staff is very helpful with some very specific exceptions like when it's close to the closing time. It seems that certain employers at the London Drugs become more than agitated and very unkind (especially the male working at the far left cash register quite often). I found this to be a very specific exception. Everybody else has always been polite and helpful to the very end.
I love the green deal from London Drugs. This location does a great job downstairs to sort all the things they get, thanks for the visit. Their 3 bags (plastic bags, styrofoam, and other soft plastics are always full. They don't seem to have the space to have the same recycling station and signage than the location in Olympic Village or at Broadway and Cambie although it could solve much in terms in signage, even though people are the one not paying attention most of the time.
Simply the Worst LD outlet. I wasted my time finding parking and entering only to find no insurance services months ago. Now I went in to get a prescription and do a little shopping but after wasting time to register in pharmacy I'm told it will be an hour as they are backed up. Complete waste of my time. So basically no functional pharmacy, no insurance services and the place is in horrible shape in need of a complete makeover. Don't was even your time, go somewhere else.
This location was not ready to be a designated pick up location for Canada Post parcels. You have to get your parcel at the front counter which is also used for gift cards, cigarettes and general purchases. The staff have to pick up the parcels from the basement so that adds to the wait. I know it’s not the staffs decision to have it this way but it’s such a pain. Plan to send double the amount of time than you usually would have at the regular post office.
The new location is a major downgrade from its former location down the street. There is less than half the space which has resulted in many amenities taken away from this neighbourhood. Where has all the staff been relocated? What's going to happen during the holiday season when London Drugs would help with Canada Post parcel delivery overload? Now that London Drugs is next door to its competitor Shoppers Drug Mart, I will be taking my business to them.
I was very surprised at how large this London Drugs was the first time I went there. It is deceiving from the outside. It’s 2 floors and has a unique configuration and it has everything you would expect to find and need from a drug store. The main floor is mostly household items and the upstairs has all the electronics. The staff are very friendly and efficient. I regularly shop at this location. ***IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL KINDLY “LIKE” IT***
Don’t bother having your meds faxed over to this location. They are disorganized and don’t prepare any prescriptions. Went in the day after my dr sent over the script and they said “it’s not ready because we didn’t know when you would come”…seriously? You had over 24hrs to put an inhaler in a bag and you couldn’t get it done? Asked me to come back tomorrow smh. Will not be using London drugs as my pharmacy any longer.
Although there is usually only 1 till open whenever I am there, the line moves rather quick. As they are a smaller London Drugs they are missing some sections that the others have (computer, and TV departments) but they have the essential, which is more than enough in this neighborhood. With some renovations they could really expand the current selection and make it easier to navigate aisles when the store is crowded.
At least 7 staff were behind working when I approached them. Everyone had an eye contact with me, but no one offered me help. Nothing else discouraging me more from purchase decision than absolute zero of customer service. At least say: “I will be with you an a minute”. I was completely ignored. They need a very good customer service training. Well I guess I have to go to Walmart again
Been years been to this L/D location. Happy to be back! Was in the store more than 30 minutes. Managed to get a box of the OkoCat Litter. So happy to have a staff ( female ) Anelia ? to help to stock up few more boxes on the empty shelf with the product. First time ever got help from someone at L/D. Seems like this locations these staffs really go beyond and help. Will be back again!
Helped out by an associate named Patrick in electronics exchanging a PlayStation controller. Very kind, professional, and attentive with answering my questions over the phone, and ensuring a thorough transaction in store. He kindly explained to me the PPP registration process which I’ll be sure to follow up on when I get home. Great customer service skills worth noting.
Reliable service, patient and kind pharmacists. I wish I knew the name of the woman who helped me on Saturday night so I could commend her, after another location was unable to help. The store is certainly older, and a bit crowded (small aisles). They dont have quite the selection of other stores, but have been reliable and kind in the years I’ve shopped there.
Very expensive medication wise. The pharmacy charged $190 for medication via prescription that costs me $68 at Loblaws pharmacy. I had my repeat pickups transferred via my doctor to Loblaws. Good makeup selection though! (Edit..as per reply to this review from the London Drugs staff..I did email with details as requested, have had no reply)
Horrible passport photo services, my passport photo was rejected by the embassy, yet the store won't refund the passport photo fee, claiming only Canadian passport photo is guarantee under store policy. Awful & irresponsible customer service, unprofessional service and waste of $15 to pay for an useless passport photo there ! Such a SCAM !
This is the best LONDON DRUGS I have ever shopped at in Vancouver !!! I was shopping for a new coffee maker & the staff were OUTSTANDING in every helpful way !!! I was impressed by how each staff member I encountered said good morning & how may I help you !! I would recommend this location to everyone !!! I will be again & again !!!
Was denied taking one of their empty cardboard boxes that they admitted they were going to throw away... But I was offered to purchase one of their smaller boxes... Are you kidding me. I'm trying to save and reuse while you're trying to make a whole 2 dollars on a box. What a joke. I'll stick with Shoppers
Now we know London’s Drug Pharmacist are notoriously slow and incompetent when it comes to their job. But the people who work in the pharmacy in this location win the grand reward for worst service possible. The untrustworthy, unreliable, and uncaring staff here truly stand out in a special way.
This place is poorly lit and not very well organised. I always feel like I am about to get mugged when entering/leaving the store, due to the vagrants that hang out in the area. The staff are never anywhere to be found when you need help. I don't shop here anymore, even if it's an emergency.
The pharmacy at this location is miles better than the Shopper DM down the street but they still make me wait 30 minutes to pull a product that’s hanging on a hook behind the pharmacist. What’s the deal with that? I swear they just like the power trip but maybe there is some logical reason.
It's a smaller store so it is missing some items from bigger locations. No computer or TV department. The departments (house/home/kitchen) have a smaller selection than regular sized stores. But staff are helpful and friendly, good place to pick up sundries or what not for the family!
I hand my prescription for mouthwash to the assistant. She informs me it will take one hour to get it. One hour. One hour to take a bottle of mouth wash, put a label on it and hand it to me. London Drugs will surely be out of business once Amazon does online prescriptions.
Never thought I'd review a London Drugs - but the lady in the camera department gave me patience and attention to help me get a laptop cable and I really appreciated it, because that's not her department. Little positive moments like that really make my day.
Limited amount of product, and things that they do carry are never in stock. Staff are rude, and would rather stand around talking to each other than help customers find items in the store. I guess we’re shopping at Shoppers down the street from now on.
This is actually a follow up on a bad experience I had with London drugs. After posting a 1 star review I actually got contacted by a representative of London drugs and they went above and beyond to make sure I got my online order. Thanks guys.
Big thank you to Darryl who was working in the tech department at the East Hastings location today! Because of your thoughtful Customer Service, my friend will get to receive her 40th birthday gift on her actual birthday! Thank you so much.
After putting up with the slow pharmacy department, now they tell me i can't renew my prescription any more because my doctor didn't write that it was good for a year. Funny it says refills expire July 2018 on my previous medication bottle.
Pharmacy was the only place around with Tdap for my pregnant wife. Took an appointment over phone. Zach the pharmacist put my wife at ease, was painless, and made sure we walked around for 15 minutes for no side affects.
Till staff- an embarrassing representation of customer service, zero interest in their job or the willingness to smile. Was not handed my change but dropped on the counter as I had my hand out waiting..... what a mess.
As the store is London DRUGS, you would think that more effort would be made to ensure better service from pharmacy. Thank you for filling the prescription. No thank you for the rudeness and unjustified arrogance.
Got some photos done for permanent resident card and my application came back rejected due to non-compliant dimensions. I got my money back when went to claim but I lost 3 months and re-application expenses.
Honestly.... Sometimes I get nervous going inside. It feels like there's a lot of shoplifting because the aisles are so tall and narrow it's hard to supervise. Anyways seems like management is trying.
I love London drugs! They have a variety of products. The tech department is so friendly and well trained. I went to go get my passport pictures taken and they were ready in less than 2 minutes!
Went there today at around 6:00pm to get flue shot, and when the lady at the counter asked i think she was the pharmacist, she says I prefer not do it today ask them to come back another day.
Good selection, I got my passport photo here tho and it was so bad I went to another location to get them to retake it. They said the picture would not have passed at the passport office.
Some cheap stuff. Lots of food options. Bought am/fm radio, pack of soap there . Shampoo. Dont shop there all the time. Pharmacy staff is very rude. Ivanka in cosmetics is wonderful
A tiny store with friendly staffs. From my last visit, I saw a staff from electric dept. taught a senior how to use WhatsApp. This is one of the best store in our community.
Very helpful staff and excellent customer service. Had to change the cell of keyless remote of my car and Raymond W. the sales supervisor was very helpful and conductive.
Like most London Drugs locations, they have good selection and friendly, helpful staff. I come here to shop their selection of Nyx Cosmetics. No washrooms for customers.
London drugs has so many things you just can’t find other places! They are doing the best they can with their smaller location, and I hope they stay in the area.
Good place for quick shopping in the neighborhood… very. Good customer service.. so many nice and helpful people are working there.. shop can be more clean..
I like the store....but u get a one star review for putting commercials on tv wearing masks.....don't add to the tyranny of Canada under a dictatorship
Online shopping and pick-up made easy. Things do tend to sell out quickly, so you have to be pretty quick on shopping. Otherwise, a fairly easy process
this store is the main contributor to blight in this neighbourhood, the facility is not adequately maintained and causes the area to look war-torn
The products like all the L.D. stores are versitle, cost savy, and indeed IMAGINATIVE, however very often poor customer service ,and UNDERSTAFFED.
I was exhausted and was carrying my baby. A young woman on staff pushed my cart to my car AND loaded it for me. Best service in the whole city!
Very frustrating till situation. People wait patiently in line and others bypass the lineups to go pay at the tobacco stand. Very disorganized.
I wish I can give 0 star. Please don't go this LD. I met an unfriendly and unhelpful Asian female staff here today. I didn't feel respected.
I love that this London drugs I always find parking and everything I am looking for, always greeted with happy workers and super helpful.
Even one star is too much for the pharmacy department. Most of them are rude and also I have to wait a lot to take my medication.
I've always loved London Drugs ever since I was a child. Knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff. I wish they were open later.
Bad location now. Only holds 25% of what they used to hold. Will be going to shoppers now since they’re only a few steps away.
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it is tiny and needs to be renovated. But the staff are friendly and wonderful.
Website states that they take passport photos to newborns but they don't just because they are missing a white blanket
Lovely staff and the electronics section is very helpful. I do wish they had more environmentally friendly cosmetics.
This store is dingy and gross. The aisles are tight and it’s just an overall gross experience being in this location.
Great store, small inside though with small isles. Large selection of products. Delivery from here is good too.
The music that they play here is better than most nightclubs in Vancouver. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Super convenient location, lots of back of store free parking, friendly staff and great selection of products!
I have to give this store location a 5 out of 5 for their customer service specially the store manager.
This London drugs is really really old. Staff however are quite friendly at the Customer Service Desk,
Not enough employees. Took me almost 10 minutes to find a staff member to help me find a coffee press.
Saw a guy in a mobility scooter steal a bunch of stuff while everyone watched. Pretty fun experience.
The store is alright, however, they could at least upgrade it to a bigger store and more departments.
Often not stocked with what's shown on sale flyer ... waste of time ... cramped store too
Lost my package once but otherwise a good place. It’ll benefit from an expansion though
$6.50 for a roll of electrical tape?? Quit gouging people. We dont appreciate it.
It’s a average London drugs . The stock is okay but just okay nothing special
I can get the essentials and some food items and even load my Compass Card.
Good selection of consumer electronics, cosmetics, snacks, and housewares.
Had a five star experience at the photolab today, big thanks to the team!
Friendly staff and a large variety of snacks electronics , and makeup ect
Always come here from the day I arrived at vancouver at 2020 - till now.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff and they keep the shelves well stocked
Friendly, polite and helpful staff both at the store and the pharmacy.
Came here looking for some hash, they didn't have any - deceiving name
Great service and if your in the neighbourhood it is extremely handy.
So far so good because there is my lovely little neighborhood store!
Used to work here and little has changed. LD, please up this store.
Very fun store you can get any of your electronic needs met there.
No computer department, very small location with limiting stock
Good location but seems to be slow at tills any time of day.
Great deal and clean store. Love the new rewards program.
Can be busy at check out. Friendly staff. Good pharmacy.
Very nice location with wide selection of products
Smaller London Drugs so selection is not as great.
Never has whipping cream chargers in stock ever.
Cramped store but has large parking lot nearby.
Like the smaller location, friendly and helpful
Store is cramped. Need more stock on shelves.
good service follow me on instagram: mlam604
