These guys DO NOT sell or stand behind quality furniture. We worked with Louis Shanks for a couple of weeks to select fabrics on a custom Marge Carson couch that would sustain life with pets and a kid and generally be center of a lived in living room. I worked hard with the sales team to ensure I was buying quality. The sales team was proactive and responsive. The transaction was well over $10,000. I also bought an additional warranty. This was the second large furniture purchase I have ever made and I wanted it to last a lifetime so I worked hard to ensure I could find a quality piece that also looked nice. The couch sustained damage within the first days. I worked with my sales rep to have the warranty representative and the representative of the manufacturer come see my couch. They agreed that the couch had flaws, such as the way the buttons were sewn on, the fact that the pillows were not made as ordered, and that the fabrics were not holding up to being touched or sat upon. Additionally, there was damage from my cats. While I specifically paid for fabrics that would be tough enough to sustain my cats, I am willing to concede that Louis Shanks should not be responsible for that. The cat scratches have nothing to do with this and are not part of what I ever asked for. The representative also told me that I "bought a Lamborghini and should expect constant issues." I was not sold a Lamborghini nor did buy a Lamborghini. I bought a living room couch. As they left, the representative said he "wanted to make me happy" but I did not hear anything for almost two months. When I did finally get a hold of Chuck, he let me know they do not intend to do anything and that I can just sue them because I have cats. They won't even allow for the use of the warranty I purchased. I just want the quality I purchased. DO NOT waste your money on this place!

I found the perfect sofa here right after buying a new home, and I absolutely love it! About a week away from delivery, I started to panic that it might be too big to fit through our front door, so I went down to Louis Shanks to talk to the fabulous Leslie Wechter, who originally sold us the sofa. Not only did she take the time to look up the specs to make sure it would most likely fit, she assured me that no matter what happened (even if it wouldn’t fit through the door), I would end up with a gorgeous sofa and she would be there to guide me through the entire process. Having someone there to relieve even a little bit of the stress of a big move is invaluable, and I cannot thank Leslie enough for her guidance and support and encouragement. I was hopeful for a good experience in this store since I had several rooms to furnish. The furniture was too traditional for my preferences but the main issue was the sales agent hassled me 6 times during my shopping experience and became increasingly aggressive and rude. It is clear they are incentivized heavily by sales or by getting customer email addresses. She told me I was searching for a needle in a haystack and kept pushing the custom design business. I found what I was looking for 2 days later online so it wasn’t that difficult of an ask. After seeing their showroom, I didn’t have confidence that they could create a modern piece. The furniture is very traditional, ranch style, or very opulent gilded/ chinoiserie 6” vases. I would not recommend if you’re looking for floor model pieces or anything modern.

We stopped by the store on 3/1 and your sales associate, Rhonda Keller greeted us and after we looked around she checked in with us. She answered all our questions and was great to work with. We saw a one-of-a-kind table that we fell in love with and after thinking about it for a couple of days decided to buy. Rhonda really pays attention to what you say and even how you sit on the furniture. My husband and I had remarked on how difficult it is for us to find a couch comfortable for both of us since there’s about a foot difference in our height. He and I were sitting on a couch discussing the table and Rhonda said how comfortable we looked. We realized she was right and we plan on buying that couch. What a great salesperson.

I have shopped at Louis Shanks for many items of furniture, art, and home accessories and have been extremely pleased every time. The high quality and excellent personal service have motivated me to continue shopping with them. Our experience with Scott at Louis Shanks was amazing. This was our third furniture store stop in our search for a leather power recliner and he was extremely helpful. We had shopped online for the same chair and he was able to meet their price. Update: After using our new recliners for a while, we noticed one of them had the lumbar feature in an uncomfortable position. This was extremely noticeable since both recliners were identical in looks but felt very different. We made a call to Louis Shanks and they scheduled an in house visit by a repairman. He diagnosed the issue and proceeded to correct it in our living room. Wonderful service experience for us.

We needed a new sofa for our Family Room. As an Architect and Interior Designer, I am picky about what furniture I buy. Yet, budget rules. I was pleased to find the extra long sofa by Century available in the custom look we wanted. Our salesperson Leslie, also an Interior Designer, responded to my online query via their website. They no longer have a store in Houston. Despite the pandemic and supply chain challenges- even a cyber attack!- they delivered our beautiful new sofa just 3 months after we ordered it. You can count on Louis Shanks for solid quality, professional salespeople, and good selection. Thank you. We are grateful for our new sofa.

I recently visited this furniture store after seeing their billboards about the ‘going out of business’ sale. My sister and I were excited to find some good deals. However, our experience was marred by a lady named Lauren who received us. She spoke in a condescending manner that made me feel like I couldn’t afford their products. She was giving us that cheap look and she followed us all the time when we were in the store. This kind of behavior is not only hurtful but also unprofessional. It’s essential for any business to treat every customer with respect and fairness. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their customer service.

Wow! I walked into Louis Shanks Furniture not knowing that I would find the perfect dining table set with Leslie Wechter’s expertise & help. She thoughtfully listened to what I needed and was searching for. In the end- she brought a beautiful custom designed table with chairs into existence. He showed us the many different options for mattresses, explaining the pros and cons. We got his name and decided to shop around. We returned several days later after realizing Louis Shanks had a great price for their high end products. Maya immediately assured me that she would help me find the best furniture and at a great price and she did. From setting up phone calls to choosing the actual furniture and getting it customized, it was all incredibly pleasant. Her expertise truly helped in bringing it all come to fruition. Louis Shanks Furniture has a vast amount of brands to choose from and the best service hands down.

We've made several purchases from Louis Shanks over the past 20 plus years. But we recently went in [twice] re their going out of business sale. It was a joke. No wonder they're going out of business. Namely, their sales personnel are a bunch of has-beens and even in a going out of business scenario are so unprofessional and seemingly bored that they should just go home and turn off the lights. Any of their sales personnel that are not of retirement age should look for another career that does not include customer facing responsibility. What a joke.

We had a very positive experience shopping at Louis Shanks. We were looking for two recliners, not really knowing exactly what we wanted, but after being greeted soon after entering, the sales rep walked us through the different styles, colors, explaining the different features. He was patient with us and never made us feel that we needed to rush even though we found out the store closed at 6:00 and we didn't leave until close to 7:00! It was a relaxing time and not at all stressful. I do not like shopping for furniture, but this was painless!

Louis Shanks has beautiful furniture, and we had great service from Rhonda. After we browsed the store and showedher our likes and dislikes, she scheduled a visit out to our house in Kingsland to look at our house and get measurements and colors. Then she worked up a list of furniture and fabrics she thought would work well in the house and we went back to the store to review and refine. She made great choices that we went with and helped us finalize our selections. Now we can’t wait until the furniture gets here!

It had been quite a few years since I'd bought living room furniture, but Maya made the whole process less intimidating for me. One can be quickly overwhelmed by the number of couch and chair options, but Maya took the time to walk me through the whole store (probably more than once ), and took each of my criteria into consideration when helping find the right furniture my home. Maya made the whole experience very personable and I never felt pressured to make a purchase that wasn't right for me.

I had to furnish an entire office after everything was damaged by water from pipes breaking after the winter storm. I had to get the office back up and in business in less than a month. I had a consultation with Maya at Louis Shanks furniture and she made sure I found all the furniture I needed for the office and made sure the things we had to order were in by my deadline. She was very creative in finding items that tied the office together. It was a fantastic experience.

Great experience. Our design consultant, Gary, was patient and helpful, giving us good insights into different options, materials, and manufacturers. Also, the gentleman in the customer pickup area was friendly and skilled, taking care to get the furniture loaded into my small car to make sure it was secure and protected. I have to budget extra when we go into Louis Shanks because we always find something we weren't planning on, but can't live without. Every last piece we have bought here becomes an instant family heirloom. Lesley helped us with a recliner years ago and has since become a trusted advisor in all things furniture related. We try other stores but always wind up back at LS because the downgrade quality at other stores just isn't worth the savings.

Mary Andrea did a great job helping us decide what to go with for our couch to match the 2 chairs we had already picked out there. We custom the fabric for the chairs and she took the time to help us decide what fabric went best for the couch and pillows. The furniture that's left over is ugly brown, dated junk. Only things worth anything are really expensive rugs and floor sample mattresses. Everything else looks like 80's cheap Dynasty furniture.
