The book signing for 1000 words was phenomenal! The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Their energy was shared with everyone, which added to the experience. This wonderful small comfy book store offers so many diverse books. I am so glad I became a bookstore member prior to my visit. I encourage everyone to support this book store by becoming a member. FYI I grew up in DC in the Petworth neighborhood but now live in Maryland. The Petworth Library was the heart of my childhood. There were no bookstores in DC at the time.It is so wonderful to see the creative diversity which is so inspiring to me.

I desperately needed some books and couldn't do a lot of local shopping during these COVID times. I was tired of giving my money to Amazon, and I heard that Loyalty Bookstore will ship to anywhere in the U.S. I found and ordered the books I needed, and I was fully prepared to wait weeks for them to arrive. Instead, Loyalty Bookstore was FASTER than Amazon! I had my books within two days in pristine condition! I will gladly recommend these folks to anyone.

I was walking my dog one day and ran into the owner who was setting up shop. A lovely person with a fantastic selection of books. I came back with my wallet and the employee was able to recommend 2 amazing books based on what information I gave. They have done an excellent job managing covid and I absolutely will continue shopping at this black owned, inclusive shop.

A friend recommended I visit Loyalty Books, (from Northern VA.) Absolutely, well worth trek across river and time spent. Loved everything!! From excellent selection to service with a smile, the friendly, knowledgeable staff made for a wonderful book buying experience. I highly recommend and will visit again very soon.

My favorite bookstore! Constantly having events, the staff is super sweet, large selection of books and other items. Representation matters so much so it’s nice to see a lot of black artists showcased whether that’s an author, a mug, cards, or cookbooks. Love this place!

I came in to get books for holiday gifts across many age ranges: 5yr old, 8yr old, 17yr old, and 60+yrs old. Love how knowledgeable the staff are across all the categories and how they literally sit on the floor to go over recommendations with you. I adore this place.

I placed an order with this store to support the small business. The first order wasn't quick but it was fairly timed in consideration of the coronavirus spreading and businesses struggling to operate. This second order was put in two weeks ago and was never charged.

Love my neighborhood bookstore here, you can buy books in the store or order them on special order. They also now sell vinyl and knickknacks like cute magnets. The staff is always helpful and friendly and the hours are great if you want to stop in before dinner.

We love Loyalty Bookstore, in particular getting advised on new books according to our reading skills and taste! Even if the book is not on their shelves, they will find it for you. This is the best bookstore to find excellent authors who are lesser known!

This bookstore is one of the best I've ever been to. One thing that blew me away was how many signed copies of books were available for the same price as other unsigned books! The staff were super friendly and helpful. This store was bright

Was looking for a specific book. They didn't have it in stock but they ordered it for me. I'm sure I could have bought it on Amazon myself but I'm glad this bookstore is here and I want to support their business. Very friendly and helpful

Edit: I ended up getting a response from a Loyalty team member, who explained that they were short staffed due to holidays and staff illness (hence the delay in correspondence), that they were not sure what happened with their publishing

I have not visited Loyalty Bookstore yet, but they have a wonderful collaborative relationship with the DC Public Library. Loyalty Bookstore has supported author talks and other events within DCPL. Kudos to Loyalty Bookstore.

I am so glad that Loyalty Bookstore exists. DC is a city full of fantastic independent bookstores and Loyalty is along the top options thanks to their wonderful customer service and commitment to serving the local community.

This is a lovely bookstore that I'll continue to go back to. They have precious little space, so sometimes it's strange to see the books they choose to put on their shelves. They also have a nice children's section.

Best bookstore in DC. Children's sing along with bear song on Sundays is a real community asset. Great book selection, enough so that President Obama and his kids did Christmas shopping here a few years back.

Ordered a book over two months ago, paid for, and am being ghosted by their customer service. My only experience with Loyalty but prime example as to why Amazon is killing local bookstores.
